"I'll hold you to that," Ira said with a faint half-smile. She tore her gaze from the scene to look at her home. It looked like she was going to have to run again, soon. Ouch, she thought. Just when I was starting to think I might be able to settle for a while...

Gaara nodded. "Now...you want to fix that window of yours or would you rather leave it till later?" he asked with a smirk...

Ira grimaced. "Should probably do it now," she said, eying the scattered glass. "Before someone gets impaled on a piece of it."

Gaara nodded, walking towards the house, leaving the bloodbath behind him, entering and heading for the shattered window. a few wisps of sand extended from the sides of the gourd, swirling over the shards, grinding them down to dust and lifting them, before placing them over the shattered part of the window, the glass-sand being held in place while the gourd's sand was pulled back and into the gourd. "OK...some heat, anyone?"

Ira focused for a second, held out a hand, and willed her fire to come in narrow streams from her fingertips. It took a lot of concentration not to let it expand as it wanted.

Gaara used more sand to boost the density before finally saying "Ok, stop". the glass would be denser and somewhat uneven, but he'd grind it back down to normal as soon as it had cooled...

Ira clenched her hand into a fist, cutting off the flames. She shook her hand out a bit to cool her fingers. She wasn't used to controlling her fire like that.

"See? sometimes there are uses to controlling the flames rather than letting them go out of control" said Gaara, a random stream of sand drifting towards the sink, lifting the glass he placed there earlier as another stream wrapped around the tap and twisted, filling the glass and carrying it to him as the tap was closed, Gaara grabbing hold of the glass and drinking. "Changes it from a weapon, to a tool" he explained, pointing out the sand and how he had just used it...

Ira hummed noncommittally. "It never fails to amaze me how easy it is to forget that fire has a mind of its own," she murmured. "It takes a bit more effort to do what I just did than to give it free reign." She shook her fingers out again, her hand still being too warm for her liking. "And try to keep it under control for too long, and you're going to get burned." Yoruichi felt a sudden stab of understanding. "So that's why..." she muttered under her breath as she helped Ira back into the house, where the amber-eyed demon chose to lean against the counter rather than sit on it.

"hm..." said Gaara calmly. "suppose that's the price you have to pay to wield one of natures most destructive elements" he said, contemplating it. "Though i could imagine plenty of uses for fire alongside my sand abilities....repairing windows is the least i could do with both"...

"There's a price for everything," said Ira, tipping her head to one side. "Ours happens to be getting hurt if we try to tame our element." She lifted one shoulder in a shrug. "Though you're probably right."

Gaara looked over at Yoru, smirking. "So technically, You're having trouble with fire because you're doing the super advanced stuff without knowing the basics" he said...

Ira bit the inside of her cheek to keep herself from laughing at the look Yoruichi shot the man. "Watch out," she muttered, unable to keep back a smirk. "Or you'll get a taste of this." She lifted her chin to expose the bruise that had formed overnight. As she'd expected, it was pretty dark and sore.

"No reason to get annoyed at the truth" said Gaara. "Though....you have a point Ira....i'd rather not have a sandy dent where my chin used to be" he responded. two streams of sand extended from the gourd and drew two glasses, filling them with water and handing them to Yoru and Ira. "Don't suppose either of you want a drink after that little incident, do you?" he asked...

Ira took hers with some surprise. Yoruichi nodded gratefully, despite still being somewhat annoyed. Ira focused on taking the warmth from the water, watching as condensation began to form on the outside of the glass before she took a sip of the refreshingly cool drink.

Gaara watched the two as he leaned back against the counter, noting how some condensation had collected on Ira's glass. "seems plain old fire isn't the only thing you can use, hm?" he said as he took a sip from his drink...

"Not really," Ira said, "but it is the most useful, I think." She drained her glass and set it aside. She looked up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "I could make this room feel like a sauna if I wanted," she said slowly. "Or I could take all the warmth from it so it would feel like we were standing in an icebox." She lifted one shoulder in a half shrug. "It's something I've always been able to do."

Ira nodded. "At times." She glanced from him to Yoruichi. She focused for a second, and felt her lip quirk as the room's temperature began to drop steadily, until their breaths were visible as small puffs of vapor. A moment later, it started to rise back to normal. A serpent of flames slithered from her hand, up her arm, to drape itself over her shoulders. She reached up to stroke its head, and it opened its mouth in a hiss. A forked tongue flickered as the flame cobra flared its hood. "We're all a bit different," she murmured absently. "No two demons are exactly alike."

"you know, it makes me wonder. if you can't control your flames, how did you manage to do that?" he asked about the snake, as he reached a hand out towards the window, a stream of sand forming over the inside edge as another formed on the other side from the dirt outside, both of them grinding against the cooled glass, slowly grinding it into shape...
