[The Kingpin]

"Well, it seemed he missed Clan life too much to stay away. he came back, and after a while of discussion it was obvious. Life as a loner didn't work out for him as well as Clan life did.....suppose it's the same for us too, when you think about it" growled Wraith. "I've agreed to allow him back on the condition that you do too....and of course...a trial will be in order...though considering we've just given the most difficult trial i can think of at the moment to your son, i can hardly think of something for a cat of Firestreak's caliber"...

[Hopeflower]

"That implies I actually got any sleep," Demontalon meowed dryly. "How about you?"

[C S]

"We can send him up the mountains" Snowstar mewed thoughtfully. "Scale the mountains and return in a few days. Its a trying task- Ive done it myself." He added. "But a cat like Firestreak would surely find some way to overcome the odds"

[The Kingpin]

"slept like a kit" meowed Nightclaw. "How's your shoulder?" he asked as he sat, tail wrapping around his paws...


"And how will he prove he did it?" growled Wraith as he eyed the tom...

[Hopeflower]

"Much better than it was a few days ago," Demontalon mewed. She flexed the injured limb. The dull ache was nearly nothing compared to what it had been. "Give it a little while longer and I figure it'll be another scar."

[C S]

"Theres a distinct plant that grows on the mountains...fern like leaves and mint colored" Snowstar mewed. "He could bring a part back" The tom added after some thought. "You have any ideas?" He asked after...

[The Kingpin]

"None. I decided Fogcloud's trial as well as the arrival of several other former clan members. I think it's about time you made a few decisions for yourself" growled Wraith with a smirk, before adding "As long as they're not so preposterous they force me to argue, that is"...


"Great...maybe then you can walk your mind off of things. distract yourself with patrols or something" meowed Nightclaw with a smile...

Demontalon half-smiled. "I doubt Wraith and my father would let me go on patrols just yet," she mewed. "Or Cloudhaze for that matter. It's up to her to decide when I can go on patrols."

[C S]

"Well In that case, my proposal is final. He shall go up the mountains and bring back a fern. Trivial, yes, but atleast it will make his acceptance into Stormclan come with a sense of achievement" Snowstar mewed. It was strange. Older cats like Firestreak were to Snowstar- then known as Snowclaw- mentors and cats to look up to. Never did he think he'd rank above the former deputy. But then again- never did he think himself as a clan leader...

Fogcloud continued through the forrest looking for the leaf piles, holding his twig in such a way that one end dragged across the dirt floor as he walked. Now that he knew what he was dealing with, he wouldnt be suprised by the springing jaws...

[The Kingpin]

"Well then. you want to find and tell him? he's in the camp, afterall. shouldn't be too difficult" growled Wraith casually....


"You'll be up and running in no time. Cloudhaze can hardly keep you here for much longer, you look almost fine" meowed Nightclaw...

[Hopeflower]

"Tell that to her," the dark she-cat purred. "She'll keep me as long as she sees fit." She licked a paw, letting her unusually long claws slide out of their sheathes and stretching them out so far the pink bases showed. She put them away and added thoughtfully, "Or until she can't put up with me anymore...whichever comes first." The mismatched eyes blinked once, glinting with faint humor.

"When we get back to camp, yes" Snowstar mewed. He walked over to the stream shore and sat down, staring into the water... focussing on the prey swimming about just underneath...

[The Kingpin]

Wraith and and watched the water calmly, considering catching a fish to feed himself. "One of the easier ways to hunt....fishing. sit there and let your prey come to you" growled the tom...



"You're too pesimistic, Demontalon" meowed Nightclaw with a chuckle. "You'll be up and about in no time. just you wait"...

Snowstar's ear twitched and he nodded, not looking away from the water as he concentrated. Suddenly, his right fore paw swiped at the surface, clawed extended. The cat yanked back, a medium sized grey scaled fish flying out of the water and flopping about on the shore, where Snowstar clamped down around the gills, finishing it off. "As long as you dont fall in..." He mumbled through the fish, finishing Wraith's sentence...

"I prefer the term 'realistic'," Demontalon mewed, grinning. She yawned, baring fangs a bit bigger than the average cat's. "It's a moot point. I'll get out when I get out, and don't you" - She gave him a poke with one paw, still smiling - "go begging her to let me out sooner."

[The Kingpin]

a swift swipe of the black tom's paw had a smaller fish flopping out onto the ground, only to be pinned by the tom's other paw, hooked claws dragging it back away from the water despite it's valiant struggling. "A skilled fisher almost never needs to worry about trivialities such as those" growled the tom as he lowered his head, biting through the small curved scales of the fish and killing it, before feeding on it himself. it's size was ideal. not so small he wouldn't be satisfied, or so large that he'd have anything left...



"That sounds more like a request than a warning" purred Nightclaw with a smirk...

"Want me to add a threat, then?" Demontalon meowed, crouching and lashing her tail in mock challenge.

[C S]

"Of course. I was reffering to my daughters when I said that" Snowstar growled, now using his claws to scrape the fish's scaley hide off. "Tell me, has Hawkclaw been showing signs of sickness? Ive been worried about her since our last outing"

There was a loud clank as another trap sprung, throwing up leaves and dirt as the jaws slammed shut. Stuck inside was the mangled corpse of a squirrel. It had died recently- unable to secure a place to hibernate, exposed to the cold and starving. The grey tom stumbled upon its body, and, after some thought, decided to use it to his advantage. Carefully dragging it to the trap and placing it in. Fogcloud looked away from the scene, picking up his stick and walking off in search of the next trap...

"You really wanna try and take on a healthy, fit Warrior? in that condition? i'd run circles around you" meowed Nightclaw with a chuckle as he waved off the challenge with a paw...



"Hardly. in fact, she's been better generally lately than i've seen her in a while. more social. it's nice to see her being so social. was conscerned about it for a while" responded Wraith as he continued to feed, using his claws to cut under the scaley hide before eating the soft flesh beneath...

"Prove it, shrimp," Demontalon meowed, flashing a wicked smile. "Unless you're afraid to lose to me twice..."
