As the raptor sifted through the low lying ferns and shrubs, he heard the rustling leaves nearby. It was faint, a little to his right. He turned his head, only to see the obscured figure amongst the shadows of the trees. An eye widened as he turned to face it. "What the hell?" Aircrest growled to himself. Then he heard a twig snap. What ever it was, it was moving now. One thing was for certain, the green raptor hadnt seen anything like it.. until now that is. Acting on curiousity, Aircrest jogged after the creature, almost undectectable as he moved...

The Lili continued to move on, dipping her head under a group of vine-like tendrils hanging overhead, momentarily passing through the deeper shadow of a thick clump of brush, a soft breeze lightly rustling nearby leaves before changing direction slightly, something about it causing the Lili to pause in her tracks and lift her head higher to better see over the foliage, listening intently. For a moment she was sure she smelled the scent of another carnivore, possibly a raptor. Wary of the unfamiliar scent, she abruptly lowered her head below the level of the bushes and started to move off again, a bit faster than before, hoping there weren't more waiting hidden around her...

The raptor suddenly broke into a full run, changing focus from the strange creature to a tree. He couldnt risk making noise going through the brush. He leapt onto the bark, claws audibly scraping against the wood. He primed his legs, bending them as far as they could go, then suddenly releasing the tension with a powerful kick, shooting up the tree. He dug his hand claws into the bark, anchoring himself. Positioning his legs, Aircrest kicked off onto a branch that wrapped around behind him, vines hanging off of it. Leveling himself on the limb, the raptor continued his pursuit from above...

The green-gray Lili's head cocked abruptly to the side as she heard a sound from behind, slightly to her left, that was almost definitely claws on bark. Now fairly sure it must be a raptor of some type if in fact it was climbing a tree, she tried to listen past her own heavier footsteps to deduce whether it was actually following her. Eyes narrowing, she suddenly swerved, heading off to her right, away from where she heard the noise, still holding her head low, and picking up more speed to a careful trot, making more noise than she would have liked...

"Well aren't you a jumpy one" Aircrest called from above, leaping through the trees, agile and free; as if he was the wind its self passing through. He leapt off the tangled limbs of one of the titanus plants, landing onto another branch and speeding across it. "Your one weird looking Diloposaur, I'll give you that" He barked. Diloposaurs were the closest things he'd seen to the crested saurian below...

Switchblade slowed to a stop, twisting her head around and glancing up at the source of the voice, finally able to see the agile dinosaur in the branches above. She managed to relax a bit since, by the look of things, the raptor didn't seem to want to attack her. She had to roll her eyes when he mistook her for a Dilophosaur, as so many were inclined to do when they first saw her. "I'm on my own... I have to be cautious. And I'm not a Dilpohosaur. Guess I don't need to ask if you've heard of a Liliensternus... Any particular reason why you're following me?"

"No reason; now anyway" Aircrest growled, leaping onto another branch. "I never saw a- what was it- Lilienternus? Ive never seen one before" He let out a soft laugh. "Well its always nice to meet other loners..defeats the purpose of being a loner, but when did conversation ever kill anyone?" He barked, still keeping pace above...

Once he was sure the Spinosaur had gone, the Allosaur lowered his head to drinkglad that the area was so linear...it meant that anything large enough to pose a threat would have to come from predictable directions. after a while he growled "Alira? would you mind if i ask you something?". it had been eating at him since thoughts of her came into his head. he had to know, despite how much he dreaded the answer...

Fatalis lay on a branch in the tree, a leg dangling casually, the cleaned killer claw glinting in the light, the raptor keeping one eye open for predators. he knew his friends would be tired after such a heavy meal, and thus, it was his job to protect them...

"You just did," she growled, lifting her muzzle from the stream and turning her head. "But no, I wouldn't."

"My kind isn't exactly common these days." Deciding there was no need to stay in the denser vegetation, the Lili turned and took a few steps out of the shrubbery, into a slightly lighter patch of forest, though no part of that area could really be called sparse. Glancing up at the raptor again she hissed, "You're a loner too, huh?" she paused, an oddly painful image of the last time she saw Thorn and the mutants coming to mind. Not knowing whether they were here, back on the island, or even alive, she shook it off, hissing more quietly, "I'm getting used to it, but I didn't actually choose to become a loner. Before coming to this place I was always with someone. I just kind of... well, lost track of that pack and never found them again... Well, anyway," she trailed off, changing the subject. "What about you?" she hissed...

"I cant say whether it was choice or not" Aircrest growled, launching onto another limb and walking across it. He wasnt looking at the lili now, but dead ahead with a blank stare. "Was born alone, so I guess I was meant to be alone...I dunno..though, I'd choose wandering around over being tied down by a pack any day!" He felt a stab of guilt when he said that. It was pretty selfish... but at the same time it was undeniable fact.

"Are you.....um....Do you.....are you upset with what i did to your....your brother?" growled the Allosaur, not finding any other way to say it...but not wanting to wait any longer for an answer, worried that a silent grudge was being held against him for the action...

Alira's muscles tensed for a second at the mention of Cirrus, but with an effort she relaxed again. "No." She gave the claws of one hand a lick, cleaning them of some dried blood. "Grateful, actually."

After laying curled up thinking for a few minutes, the gray raptor barely felt his mind begin to slowly empty as he drifted off to sleep. His sister on the other side of the tree had already done so, breathing slowly, rhythmically, a claw twitching slightly every now and then...

The Lili was silent for a few moments, the raptor's words making her think back through her own life. She wondered about what would have happened if, after the destruction of her pack, she hadn't been found by Redtooth and later taken in to live a good portion of her life with Steeltalon and the others of that group. Surviving alone as a young hatchling didn't seem like a happy concept... Though, she had to admit that he had a point about the lack of freedom in a pack. "I never really thought about that... the freedom that comes with being alone. The ability to go wherever the wind takes you... I miss the protection of others though. Nowadays it's rare that I sleep all the way through the night..."

"Lucky I was born a raptor" Aircrest barked. "Living in the trees was one of the things I learned wandering the island. When things look bad, all you need to do is scramble up a tree- er..that is, when your not sleeping in something huge's turf. But even then, a raptor's speed could mean life or death" He added. "Its all second nature to me now" He growled, reffering to both...

Switchblade smiled slightly. "I used to be able to climb... more or less. My claws aren't really made for it though," she hissed, referring to her lack of killing claws. "Wish I still could, but I'd probably just get stuck in the branches now."

"Ya... there isnt much room up here, again, happy to be a raptor" Aircrest growled. "So, does the first Liliensternus I've met have a name? Mine's Aircrest"

"That I do... Switchblade," the green Lili hissed, cracking another small smile. After so long alone, it was good to be able to talk to someone who wasn't just there to steal food or run her out of a territory. She cocked her head, adding, "Y'know, you're the first one I've met here who hasn't been hostile in some way..."

"Strange" Aircrest barked. "Because Im far from the only one... just a while ago I ran into an allosaur I met back on Sorna, and before him, another pack of raptors, both pleasant to be around" He growled after leaping to another tree, landing on a slightly lower branch, causing it to shake and bend with a soft rustle

Switchblade suddenly paused and looked up. "Raptors? How many? Were they mutants?" she hissed, a slight hopeful note in her voice. She wondered if he might have seen the pack she was looking for...
