"And then they let me go on a patrol with the those three raptors I told you about, Sandstorm, Blacktop and Mira" Aircrest growled as he and Hazel reached the line of foliage where he found his sister. "We ended up chasing after a group from the pack's rival" He barked as he pushed through some bushes. "Exciting" Hazel growled as she followed along. "I ended up running after one of them that went off on her own, a female by the looks of it" Aircrest growled. "Did you catch her?" Hazel growled. "Nope. She knocked the air out of me when I was closing in and left me for the others to find" He pointed to a barely visable line of scars that healed over on his chest. "Ouch" Hazel replied with a growl. "Doesnt hurt at all now. Good times. I wonder how they'll react to seeing me" Aircrest barked. "I only stayed there a day"
"You, what!? Your taking me and Rose to a pack you stayed with for a day!?" Hazel hissed, wanting to hit Aircrest again.
"Hey! In the short time I was with them, I bled along side those raptors!" Aircrest shot back, raising his voice in an over emphasized seriousness. "And, they're kind of my only choice at the moment. Unless you want to wander around with me." He growled in his normal tone. He raised a scaley brow as Hazel stared off, thinking about it. Was she seriously considering becoming a loner...?

"So they're almost as much strangers to you as they are to us," Rose growled slowly. "How can you be so sure that they'll be willing to take us in?"

"Well, they didnt kill me after I appeared, and they let me stay. I just kinda...wandered off" Aircrest growled to Rose, looking back. "But I got to know some of them. Uh...if you see a yellow scaled raptor giving me a strange look, its probably because I called him crazy..."

Switchblade slowed down as she neared the overgrown alley, slipping into the vegetation with a light rustle and lowering her snout to the ground and leaves around her, trying to pick up any lingering remnant of a scent that might have been left, also listening intently for a tiny rustle or faint footstep. She made her way through in a zigzag pattern, covering as much ground as possible, pausing every so often to listen, though the rain made even that difficult. By the time she was halfway down the alley, she'd found nothing more interesting than a pair of very young caudipteryx, who fled with shrill squeaks when the Lili had nearly stepped on the plant they were sheltering under. For a moment, she thought of going after them...after all, she was getting hungry. But then she abruptly stopped again, head cocked slightly as she listened hard. For a moment, she thought she'd heard voices over the wail of the blowing rain. The wind seemed to shift, and the voices faded away. Starting to move again, nearing the other end of the alley, she suddenly jerked in surprise as she again startled the two caudipteryx, who had run ahead, thinking the swerving Lili was going to head in the other direction. With an annoyed growl from the bigger predator, they sprinted away, probably out of the alley completely, she thought as she shook her head and continued on, planning where to go next, since the alley hadn't been of any real help...

"Aircrest, look out!" Hazel barked. Aircrest snapped his head forward, stopping midstep. He was about to walk straight into an over grown wall, hidden well in the dark patch of plant cover. "Wow, that would've been...unpleasant. Thanks Hazel" He growled, nodding to his sister. "What's family for?" She growled, smiling despite the large drops of rain that danced about her skin. "Sorry for dragging you two out here" He growled. "Im sure you didnt plan on leaving the cave for this"
"You have your reasons" Hazel growled, shrugging. "You've always been a little strange. But Im guessing you'd be pretty boring if you werent." Aircrest smiled as he turned away from the wall and started walking beside it, looking for a gap in the buildings to walk through.

"So...you don't have a theory as to why they bring us here?" Selena growled, cocking her head in disappointment.

As she drew near to the end of the alley, even the scents of the two caudipteryx, who had been there only a minute before, were fading rapidly. The smell of wet dirt and concrete was simply too overpowering. She'd have to go indoors to have any sort of chance of catching a scent. Just as she was thinking of turning around, the plants ahead thinned as they spilled out onto the main road. The end of the alley was barely five feet ahead, yet the Lili halted in her tracks again. Her sense of smell being almost completely useless in this weather, she was extremely wary every time she came to a corner, knowing there could easily be something else only a few feet away, masked by the water and the building's brick corner. Still motionless, she abruptly cocked her head again as the wind shifted for a moment and something that sounded alot like the voices she'd heard before met her ears again, disappearing as soon as the wind changed. The only difference was that it sounded a bit closer this time. Tensing up, poised to bolt if she needed to, the Lili crouched down and crept toward the edge, holding her head only a couple of feet off the ground where the foliage was thicker, her crested snout finally poking through, amber eyes scanning the street ahead...

Fatalis sprung into the trees, moving along the branches all around Bane, the movement seemingly too fast for anything other than a bird, Fatalis in particular having spent so much time in trees throughout his life that he was almost more adept at moving in them than most Raptors were on the ground, the rustling of the trees surrounding Bane increasing at a startling rate; Fatalis was hitting so many branches in such little time that his location was almost impossible to pinpoint, especially over the boom of thunder overhead and the rain that poured down in sheets. the chaos around the Dromeosaur would open it to attack from Renegade, as Bane would currently be trying to pinpoint Fatalis' position, fruitlessly...

Crusher thought over the facts for a short while. his memory went back to an obscure event in his childhood. humans, watching the dinosaurs interestedly. doing strange things, scraping long thin objects against flat, square ones, leaving marks, as if...expressing what they saw. "There are alot of humans. the fact this place is so different to where they took me last time, tells me they're likely very wide spread. knowing how curious they are....perhaps...they wanted to learn about us.....like how hatchlings want to learn about the world around them....or the prey they will grow up to hunt" growled the Rex thoughtfully...

Bright light flashed, the dark disappearing in the the overcast of lightning. Thunder rumbled over head as the the blue and silverish bolts of electricity faded into the gray skies. Hazel glanced towards the sky, squinting as the rain drops came down. The tops of spires were obscured in mist. That morning, the skies were bright and the sun shone bright. Now it was the complete opposite. She sighed, when suddenly a sharp hiss escaped Aircrest. She looked to her brother, who had taken cover behind some shrubs, crouched a few feet from the corner of the building. Something was coming out of the alley way. The plants were low, with grass sprouting from cracks in the ground. "Take Rose and get back" Aircrest hissed softly, barely audible over the pounding rain and howling wind. "Ill try to distract it if it notices you." Hazel was about to say something, but a burning amber glare from Aircrest put a stop to that. She turned to Rose and took her hand. "Follow me" Hazel growled quietly as she lead the blind raptor back into the denser cover nervously...

Rose tensed, instinctively letting her body sink lower in an attempt to remain unseen as she followed Hazel.

"perhaps," Selena replied thoughtfully. "They do behave a lot like hatchlings...poking their noses into things they shouldn't..."

Aircrest watched Hazel and Rose leave from the corner of his eye, before redirecting his gaze at what had appeared. He waited for lightning. In those few seconds of light, he would be able to see what it was he was up against. From the sillouette of its body, it looked like a diloposaur...

Hazel turned around the bark of a tree, carefully directing Rose about with her. The blue eyed raptor made sure that the stranger couldnt be seen from their hiding place...

Crusher grunted, shrugging the idea of humans as hatchlings off. the thought of that being more literal than simple behaviour worried him. "Is there anything else you'd like to know?" growled the Rex. Blade shook his head. "Nothing here" hissed the Allosaur, before glancing towards Alira and Selena. "What about you?"

Alira shook her head and Selena growled, "I don't think so."

Rose lowered herself even further, hoping she wasn't in full view. Her sightless yellow eyes were wide, and she could feel herself shaking. If only I could - she cut off the half-formed thought, crushing it. Her nostrils flared as she strained to catch any scent that would help her understand how much danger they were in over the smell of damp earth and dead leaves.

Switchblade had to stop the sudden impulse to pull back behind the building. Instead, her head jerked slightly to the side where she'd been sure she'd heard a hiss. Something was hiding somewhere amid the scraggly shrubs that lined the brick wall. Tensing even more, fingers slowly flexing with apprehension, the Lili kept herself in a low stance and started to glide forward, looking away from the shrubs for only a moment to make sure she wasn't going to collide with something. Keeping silent, her long neck slid from the foliage like a snake, the rest of her slender body following after a few moments, revealing black-clawed arms tucked tight by her sides, showing she was poised to sprint. Even now, staring unblinkingly at the spot she knew was occupied, she couldn't see what was in there through the stormy gloom...

Aircrest's legs tensed. He could launch himself out of the bushes now. Attack first before he found himself being lunged at-

Another streak of light cut across the skies. In the seconds of light, Aircrest caught the face of the new commer. The one he met the other day. He growled loudly over the noise of the storm "Still...jumpy, Switchblade?" He gave the liliensternus a cold stare, thinking back to what Darkness told him...

"In that case, i'll be on my way" growled Crusher finally, before turning. "Crusher" hissed the Allosaur behind him. Crusher turned his head to look back at Blade. "Nice to know you're alive" the Allosaur finished. Crusher smirked. "Likewise....just promise to stay that way. it'd be insulting to die on us after what Darkness and I did to give you a second chance" rumbled the Rex. Blade chuckled. "Like hell i'm going to let this place kill me" he hissed. Crusher nodded, satisfied with the answer, before walking off. Blade glanced at Selena and Alira, growling "Got what you wanted?"...

The Lili stopped, slowly raising herself up, recognizing the voice. From her normal height, she could just see the raptor on the other side of the shrubbery, another flash of lightning illuminating what she could see of his face. "Aircrest? Well... yeah. I'm still on my own. Haven't found any former pack members yet... Uh..." Her eyes didn't wander from the green raptor, something seeming oddly different about him from when thay'd last spoken. "What... are you doing here, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Living. Wandering. Protecting those I care about..." Aircrest growled, a hint of irony in his last sentence as he got up. He turned to look back at where Rose and Hazel had gone to. A faint flicker of blue caught his eye during a lightning flash several moments later. He nodded to his sister and stepped out into the open. "I guess...its ok to go?" Hazel growled to Rose, realizing that she still held the young raptor's hand.

"Yes," Selena growled, Alira nodding.

Rose found herself frowning, something about the new, female voice stirring a distant memory, not unpleasant. She wasn't quite able to make out the words, though, which frustrated her. She nodded to Hazel's words, rising to her full height and trying yet again to catch the newcomer's scent.

With that, Hazel stepped out from her cover, releasing Rose once she did. She walked towards her brother and the stranger, tapping her claws for Rose. In the back of her mind, she wondered if it was worth doing, with all the noise and thunder...
