"He's the oldest creature alive amongst us" Aircrest growled as he carried on with his story. "He can do things some of us can only dream of and because he took me in and taught me, I can just about try the things he does; though not in the least perfectly. I still need a lot of practice to get what he taught me down, but Ive come a long way"
"So...what can you do?" Hazel replied with a bark. "For the sake of modesty, Im not going to tell you." Aircrest growled. "Thats one thing he taught me. Talking about what you can do wastes breath. The sure fire way to convince someone that you are skilled is by showing them your capabillities"
"Sounds like he knows what he's talking about" Hazel growled. "But what is he like?" She asked. Aircrest blinked a few times. How would he describe Ripper's personality? He thought for a few minutes, gathering the words. "He's...cool headed and good hearted. Disappointing him makes you feel like...crap?" Aircrest growled. "Its weird. Anytime I got the feeling I let down his expectations, I got a drive to push myself harder, so that I would surpass his standards. He can also be a little scary when angry, but then again, arent we all?" He added, smiling

Switchblade's eyes flicked momentarily to Aircrest and Hazel as their dark forms receded into the murk, but her attention never left the black and white raptor. "Ah, I see... So, you... were living alone before then? No family or packmates? I don't suppose you've run into anyone from the old group lately," she hissed with a mildly dispirited edge she hadn't meant to express. It seemed as though Rose had been put through a similar situation the Lili had; suddenly thrown into a new world, cut off from all relations and forced into the life of a loner. The crested predator finally took a step away from the alley, closer to the raptor who was once one of her many packmates. From this distance, she could see Rose more clearly through the downpour, noticing for the first time how her eyes looked a bit strange and seemed locked to one spot, like she was staring right through Lili. At that point, she started to realize why, though part of her seemed reluctant to believe it...

"Not here, I'm afraid," Rose growled, picking up on the glum edge to Switchblade's tone. Her head cocked towards the Lili as she moved, following her old packmate as best as shecould. "I was separated from the pack Silver, Rawclaw and I had joined after the group broke up. If there's any luck left for any of us in the world, they'll all still be on the island - my parents and all our old friends."

"And thats the story of Hellfire" Aircrest growled after a few minutes of talking, his voice a bit somber after he told Hazel about the Deinonychus. Bringing up Ripper brought up the fact Hellfire was also taught by the elder. "Its not a happy story...not in the least" Aircrest added, looking to the small splashes that appeared when the rain hit the ground. "But...he was nothing like the creature you described! If he tormented you so much, why do you still walk with him?!" Hazel growled. Aircrest sighed. "Because I was there when he decided to turn his life around. So was Ripper. We talked some sense into him...I hit him once but thats because he was going hysterical. Im the only one he has left. His family is dead..and Im the only thing that would stick around. When Im the last hope you have, you know your in a rough spot..." He explained with a quiet bark. Hazel cocked her head and growled "How so?"
"Well, because things like these are actually a common occurance in my life" Aircrest replied. "What things?" Hazel pressed on. "You know...things like this. Suddenly realizing I need to do something, and having to break into a mad dash just to reach where I need to be in time..." He growled. Hazel nodded and asked with a bark "So...is there anything more important than taking me and Rose to the pack and finding your mate that needs to be done?" The question might as well have been a kick to his heart. "Of course not!" Aircrest snarled, suddenly irritated. Why would she even ask that?! He was willing to make the trek in the pouring rain and throw himself at any threat for her and Rose. He caught himself suddenly. Was he being...selfless? Thinking about the well being of others for once? He knew he could, after all, he used to spend his nights awake and on guard when he was with Selena. But for a raptor he hadnt seen in ages and a near complete stranger?
"Sorry" Hazel growled, nervously. Aircrest cocked his head, glancing from his sister to puddle to his side. He had a frown on his face. "I didnt mean to-" She began, Aircrest growling "Dont think about it. So. I guess you want to know about Selena now?"

RedClaw walked slowly cautiously until the smell of blood reached his nose he then ran ahead and peering out of the bushs he saw a dead parasurolophus on the ground and tearing into it was another utahraptor one that RedClaw knew very well " GreyTalon, is that you"? he then stepped out of the plants and stood still.

"Selena...how do I describe her" Aircrest thought out loud as Hazel listened in silence. A clap of thunder boomed over head before the noise faded out to nothingness, replaced by the pattering rain drops. After a few moments of quiet, Aircrest shook his head. He growled "She is...hard headed, stubborn and some what clumsy." Hazel raised a scaley eyebrow. Before she could've asked a question, Aircrest continued. "She's also brave, strong, independant but at the same time...there was some sort of vulnerabillity about her. Something that compelled me to stay by her side, because I had a feeling something terrible would happen to her if I didnt. And...some how...we fell in love. Does that make sense?"
"No." Hazel growled with a smile. "It was never like you to take up responsibillities like that...but I guess you have changed over time...and for the better" Aircrest's eyes widened slightly, and his gaze dropped down. "That...means a lot Hazel, thank you" He growled uncomfortably. "So, you miss her a lot dont you?" Hazel growled, trying to change the subject. Apparently Aircrest's past was still a touchy subject. "Pretty much" Aircrest growled absent mindedly, starting to get lost in his thoughts. "Well..." Hazel began. "Why did it take so long for you to realize that? Did you look for her instead of running off like some...some...!?" She barked, losing her wording at the end. Aircrest suddenly snapped "It took me a long time to realize I missed her?! For all I know, she's either back home, dead, or here- and dead! Of course I missed her, but I had to keep myself alive here...then there was the possibillity that I didnt really love her, that it was some crazy thing my mind pulled on me-"
"That makes no sense" Hazel barked before snorting. "The mind is a fragile thing. A friend told me that. Mental collapse is what made Hellfire a blood thirsty murderer. If didnt feel as strongly as I do about killing, who knows what I would've become" Aircrest growled. "It doesnt matter anymore. I know what I need to do now, and thats try to find her, if it isnt too late already" Hazel cocked her head. She didnt expect Aircrest to become so serious, and moments when he wasnt joking around were rare enough."I want to help you" She growled. "What?" Aircrest asked. "I want to help you find her" Hazel replied. "Uh...no. Im not letting you give up your plans just to help me" Aircrest barked. "And Im not letting you wander aimlessly around this strange place alone" Hazel shot back. "Yes, you are" Aircrest growled. "Im not a hatchling anymore, Aircrest, you cant tell me what to do. As if you ever could- that is" Hazel hissed. Aircrest cocked his head. "You dont mind?" He growled. Hazel nodded no. "...Thanks" Aircrest growled. "What's family for?" Hazel growled once more.

"We can only hope most are, at least..." the Lili hissed, gaze drifting to the hazy gloom behind the raptor, images of friends she may or may not ever see again clouding her mind. As much as she wanted to find them- to be part of their pack again, it was good to think it was possible some hadn't been taken away from home at all. At that point she remembered her conversations with Crusher and Ripper, her mind coming back to the present. "I haven't managed to find them myself..." she began slowly, almost regretfully. "but I've heard that Fatalis and Sandstorm are here somewhere... And that Fatalis started his own pack..." And maybe if I was better at tracking I'd have- no... she thought, abruptly stopping herself. Putting yourself down won't help anyone...

"A Lone Wolf starting a pack," Rose mused. "It's a better idea than trying to try and rough it on one's own." She was surprised to hear Sandstorm was here as well. She hadn't heard anything of the sand-colored raptor after the group had broken up. Nonetheless, it was good to hear he was still alive.

"What're we gonna do about Rose?" Hazel growled thoughtfully. "I dont want to make her wander around with us. But at the same time, I dont want to leave her alone"
"Who says we're leaving her alone?" Aircrest growled as he looked over to the blind raptor and liliensternus. "She has Switchblade. Apparently they know each other. It'd be better to leave her with a friend than with a bunch of strangers"
"I guess your right" Hazel growled. "Im going to go see if they'll be alright with that. Then we go search for Selena if they agree" Aircrest barked as he started walking back, his sister following eagerly...

The Lili's vision blurred momentarily before she blinked drops of cold water out of her eyes. "True. I have no idea what might have persuaded him to change so much though. The Fatalis I knew didn't seem to want much to do with groups. Hmh... Funny how times can change..." Eyes flicking into the gray haze ahead, she thought she might have caught a shadow of movement through the leaves...

It didnt take long for the green raptor and his sister to walk back over to Rose and Switchblade, rain drops dancing about their bodies. "Switchblade?" Aircrest growled to the Liliensternus. "Would you look over Rose if Hazel and I left her with you?"

Somewhere near the docks area of NYC, a lone Edmontosaurus looked around, unable to see the raptors through the rain, the herbivore having lost it's way and unable to locate it's herd. Slowly, the plant eater moved on down the street, unaware of two pairs of eyes watching it from the shadows, one pair down a few blocks infront of it, the other three blocks behind, the predator's sharp vision enablnig them to see through the rain...

Alira fell into step at Blade's side, wondering when exactly Selena would remember that she could, in fact, walk. "Just when were you planning to get down?" she asked the raptor, her voice just loud enough to reach both of her companions. "Soon," Selena growled, tense after the sudden meeting with Darkness.

The dromeosaur's weight caused the already loose bark to break apart and fall off completely, revealing a bare trunk underneath, the dromeosaur left to plummet, chunks of bark falling downwards over it, Fatalis bursting out of the storming darkness, slamming into the Dromeosaur as it fell, killer claws ripping deeply into the dromeosaur's thigh and flank, Fatalis kicking off, the extra force sending the Dromeosaur slamming diagonally into the ground, Bane skidding along the rough rocky ground, several shallow gashes torn into his hide, Fatalis landing with a faint splash, the water of the pouring rain displaced by the Raptor's feet, Fatalis ready to bolt forward or evade the Dromeosaur. "Take the hint, Dromeosaur. There is no place for you here. pestering us will only lead to your death" snarled the Raptor, burning amber eyes locked on the troublesome dromeosaur...

Rose, about to reply to Switchblade, turned her head at Aircrest's words. "I take it there's been a change in plans," she growled.

Bane's eyes widened as he fell. He tucked his head into his shoulder just before hitting the ground, and rolled with the fall, using the momentum to get to his feet and begin sprinting in the opposite direction.
As he ran, he turned his head around, hissing mockingly at the raptor, who was growing smaller and smaller in the distance. As he turned his head back around, he saw a flit of movement out of the corner of his eyes.
A distinct red-orange shape hurtled into him, knocking him sideways into a tree, before everything went black.

Renegade went up to the dromaeosaur, who's eyes were closed, and nudged him with his foot, not caring to be gentle. He tapped his foot on the dromaeo's head, none too gently, and prodded it.
"Isss he dead?" the raptor hissed, his expression showing nothing...

Fatalis approached the two predators ahead, eying the Dromeosaur carefully, though keeping his distance, in case it was a trick. he had used that one too many times on larger predators to fall for it himself. his eyes narrowed when he saw the rise and fall of the creature's flank, indicating it was breathing. "He's alive" hissed the Raptor decisively...

Renegade smirked.
"Shame. Shouldn't have gotten my hopesss up..."
He started walking back to where the others had been, having lost track of their movements due to the fight...

Fatalis headed back to the others, springing into a tree branch, avoiding the bark, glancing around for another low branch, ascending into the canopy, using the branches to hide his movements, in case there truly were others lying in wait...

Renegade watched Fatalis go up the tree. He continued walking on the ground for a time, before slowly and unnoticeably slinking off behind the bushes to the right of him, out of Fatalis' sight...
