"Ssssuicidal? Hardly. You need to give it a try firssst," hissed Renegade's voice from the treetops somewhere in front of the raptor pack...

As the morning rays hit the Torosaur kill, a pair of beautiful eyes opened up, Blackscale having laid by her kill ever sinc ethe raptor encounter.... the night hadn't been kind to her. As she lifted herself on her hind legs, three new flesh wounds were visible on the side of her snout, where she had gotten scratched by the raptor. Next time she saw a lone raptor wanting to play suicide with her, she'd decline...

Rhojis opened his mouth, about to mutter something to the effect of what Howler said when he heard the familiar voice from above and closed it again, glancing up. Sylicora did so at the same time, hissing with a small half-smile, "I think I'll pass. Can't really see myself purposely starting that much trouble no matter how good I eventually get... I guess everything went okay for you Renegade?"

"For the mossst part," Renegade responded, jumping down from the tree in plain sight of them. His body was kept turned, so that his right side angled away from them, for the most part, and was out of sight...

"Did you kill it?" Howler asked, already predicting the answer...

"Nowhere near worth the trouble," Renegade responded icily, swinging his head around to look at Howler through his left eye, still carefully concealing his right as best he could...

"Whatever you say," Howler muttered, scratching the scarred side of his face absently.

"Of coursssse, there is always some risk taken," Renegade continued, both in response to Sylicora's original question, and to Howler. He turned, revealing a bruised eye that was forced shut, and a slash from behind the eye, extending down the length of his neck, and some of his side, the light throwing the scratch into sharp relief...

Fatalis grunted, somewhere between amusement and disappointment, though both were very well hidden. "Well, like i said before you left. you're completely responsible for what happened to you. as is every lone wolf for their actions. as fun as it is, you have to keep your confidence in check....letting it get out of control hurts" he hissed...

"Riiight. It's really so strange for a predator to be thirsty when he wakes up? or are you Raptors part-stone and have supernatural thirst-resistent abilities?" growled Blade as he lifted his head from the water, which streamed down the sides of his snout, dripping off his chin as his left eye locked on the Raptor, the Allosaur not particularly amused by the comment...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"

Renegade chuckled.
"I recall you taking down that ssspinosaur without getting a single scratch. Where'sss the fun in that? No challenge.
I don't think you'd believe me, but I let thisss happen,
" the raptor finished.

"Yep." Aircrest growled smugly. "Ive ran through the thermal fields back on Sorna, dodging geysers and hot springs without so much as feeling a bit of thirst! But that could just be knowing that any water in the area is scalding hot..." He added, a grin on his face

"Letting yourself be hurt puts you at risk of an actual threat taking advantage of it later. you're now blind in one eye. that becomes a blind spot. In a fight, you wouldn't be able to see a blow coming from that side. the slash means the muscles on that side of your body won't be at peak performance. that means you'll need to adapt your movement to compensate. in a complex, high speed environment like sprinting through trees, that's the quickest way to hit a branch, break a limb or two, fall, break your neck, or knock yourself out" growled Fatalis, more serious now. Renegade's words showed his confidence seeping through. he was overconfident. as he had guessed. "I didn't get a single scratch with that Spinosaur because i was expecting to be torn in half, eaten, swatted or stomped on at any moment. that made me careful. i chose my movements as best i could. so that i WOULDN'T suffer the fate i expected i might" he added, giving the Raptor a piercing look...

Renegade stopped, turning squarely to face Fatalis. "Don't dare preach to me about sssurvival. I've been out here as long as any of you, alone, and sssustained far worssse than thisss. Yesss, you didn't get injured from the spinosaur. That also made it rather pointlessss harassing it in the first place," he growled.
"When facing this trex, I ssslowed myself down, gave it a chance. Yesss, I put myself at risssk, and got injured, I wont hesitate to sssay it. Call me reckless, arrogant, suicidal, I don't care," he growled, shifting slightly to look at Howler at his last words. "I've been living like this for yearsss, I don't need you lecturing me like I'm a hatchling," he finished acidly...

"Last I checked, he didn't 'harass' that Spinosaur," Howler replied. "He drove it off because it threatened the pack." He shook his head, then pointed at his right eye, and the savage scars that covered it. "You obviously have no idea what it's like living with one eye, do you?"

"And you assume i wasn't alone? It is the lifestyle of a Lone Wolf to be alone. i've brought down packs with nearly no help. the lives of super predators have been taken by these claws when i was forced to take that course of action. You may believe yourself to be invincible, Renegade. but as a Loner, you should know damn well that you're anything but that. There is not a Lone Wolf i have ever known that has let him or herself get injured without reason. the cocky, inexperienced ones who are drowned in their egoes are the only ones who let that happen. and they don't last long. Your words make you out to be better than that. Don't let your actions contradict your words. it doesn't do you justice" growled Fatalis, turning away from the Raptor. he was disappointed by Renegade's behaviour. his actions were his own, as were the consequences....but that didn't mean Fatalis didn't see his failure to prevent the Raptor from leaving in the first place as a failure on his part. as a leader to the pack, what happened to his packmates was part of his responsibility. that meant that injuries suffered by his pack mates were partially his fault for not doing what he could to prevent them...

Blade simply grunted, not in the mood to respond. he was still somewhat sleepy considering he hadn't managed to sleep as easily as the others...it made an early morning much less pleasant...

"No, I know what it'sss like living without two!" Renegade snapped back at Howler.
Turning back to Fatalis, he growled, "I wouldn't presume such a thing. Don't impugn me with overconfidence. I never perceived myself as invincible, nor would I. I would think you'd have known me well enough by now to tell that I don't do thisss for my ego; and I think I know my own limitsss bessst, and I'll push myself to reach them, even if I get a couple ssscratchesss in the processss..."

"Looks like your still out of it" Aircrest growled, cocking his head at the Allosaur. "Ill let you go catch some more rest. Im gonna go hunting, try to bring back some meat for Selena and my...friend" He added before realizing this would be a perfect time to tell Blade the truth. He glanced back at the tree, trying to see if Darkness had awoken yet. Seeing no indication of that, he looked to Blade and growled quietly "Who happens to be my sister, Hazel. Keep it from Darkness, I dont want him finding out any time soon for...obvious reasons. If Selena wakes up before I get back, tell her too...just make sure Darkness isnt around to hear"

"I probably won't tell her at all...i plan to talk to Darkness around the time you're planning to leave...i have some catching up to do anyway. you can use that chance to tell her" hissed Blade lowly...

Fatalis shrugged. "It's your choice in the end, Renegade. but like i said...be careful. as much a temporary member sa you say you are, you're still important. Your presence is valued here as much as anyones. we'd hate to see you get badly hurt due to a mistake" growled the Raptor simply. glancing at the others, he hissed "About time we went for a hunt. Howler, stay with Renegade. Sylicora, Rhojis, i'd like you two with me"...

"Thats even better. This is something that she should hear from me...not from a friend" Aircrest growled in a hushed tone, nodding. Only he could explain his family history, and only he could tell her that what Curdle had told them both- about his pack being sick- was a complete and utter lie. "Well, Im off" He barked normally, before turning to the tree line and scenting the air as he started to walk away from the lake...

Renegade gave a shrug of his own, not saying anything, letting the disagreement drop. He was usually fairly mellow, in most cases, and didn't want to keep an argument going when there was no need to. However, he did think, Speak for yourself, in response to Fatalis' words about him being valued, thinking of the other pack members, Howler in particular...
