The mechs ignored casualties, pounding the merchants relentlessly, cutting them down in droves. At the same time, the door at the opposite end of the hall opened, and a trio of FENRIS mechs charged towards the distracted merchants, their "heads" crackling with electricity...

One mercenary throws a sticky grenade down the hall, blowing a couple of the new mechs up as the others continue attacking the rest. "Blow them up, dammit!" one man shouted, before shooting one of the mechs' heads...

The beheaded mech violently exploded with enough force to stun the one in an adjacent crate, and the FENRIS mechs also exploded hard enough to stun their comrade. However, it did little to lessen the sheer amount of gunfire raining down on their position. Fortunately, most of the mechs right next to the group had been destroyed, preventing the ones ahead of them from hitting the entire group, only the front ranks. However, they wouldn't last long without getting to the door at the other end of the hall...

A few more sticky grenades were flung down the hall, blowing up even more mechs as the merchants tried finishing them off. The mercenary ships begasn firing charged lasers and guided missiles at the door, blowing it up within a few moments as the merchants on the ground dive for cover from the attack...

The mechs continued to fire on their enemies, thinning their numbers faster as more men were cut down, exposing those behind them to the gunfire...

As the ships fired on the front door of the facility, the mountainside it was buried in started to come loose, sending an avalanche of rock down in front of the building, effectively blocking the way out completely and crushing any merchants unfortunate to be outside the doorway...

Jessica fires her powerful pistols at the machines, managing to do decent damage to them. Howeve,r she knew that she wouldn't be as effective as the other soldiers with their weapons, but keeps firing, keeping low to avoid being shot......

OOC: Eh, I was talking about the door to get into the facility, man.

The mercenaries dive for cover behind destroyed mechs and crates, using them as shields while firing back at their enemies. The ships continued raining down fire onto the main door, hoping to bring it down soon for everyone else to reinforce the group in the mining facility...

The ships' weapons did little to penetrate the thick wall of debris that now blocked the way outside...

The mechs began falling in greater numbers, but were too unintelligent to take cover...

The ships continue to try and remove the debris and rubble covering the front entrance, missiles and lasers doing somewhat effective damage now. More plasme rounds and shotgun shell pellets sprayed through the area at the mechs, along with some more grenades, quickly causing the machines to dwindle in numbers...

Eventually, the mech fire thinned, but the debris outside was a consistent obstacle. As soon as some was blasted loose, more would tumble down from the mountainside, filling the gaps. The chances of getting out through the front door were slim, at best...

One merchant on the ground contacted the pilots again, before saying, "hold fire! We're never getting through that way!" As the mechs were finally finished off, the mercenaries leapt from cover and proceeded down the hall, watching the crates in case more came out to ambush them...

Though the screen was awash with static, Morleon could still make sense of what was going on through the damaged security camera. He smirked. Their small "army" had now been reduced to a much more manageable number. Geero wasn't as useless as he thought he was. He watched casually as they made their way to the door...

Jessica sees that the mechs have been thinned and holsters her weapons. She follwos the merchants. "We need to blow that door down. NOW. Our only chance is to continue forward."

"All we have are a few grenades le-" a merchant tried saying, before getting cut off with the statement, "I brought some extra explosives besides grenades. We'll blow that door down in no time." The engineer moved up to the door and pulled off his pack, before pulling some timed explosives out along with a wrist missile launcher, attaching it to his arm as he set the bombs up...

OOC: What is with you people and blowing open unlocked doors? -_-'

The door opened automatically as they approached, revealing a raised catwalk with a central ramp leading downwards into the next room. The bottom of the ramp split into two staircases going in opposite directions to the floor, where several Eclipse mercs were patrolling, evidently unaware of the merchants' arrival just yet. There was a room on the bottom floor to the left, but most unusual was the right wall: behind the slightly raised catwalk on that side, the wall had been completely wrecked, showing a mined tunnel beyond; obviously, it was the mining accident that had shut the place down earlier...

Jassica says, "Alright. I'll get my rifle ready and take them out from afar. I'll need soem of you guys to run interference so I don't get spotted." Jessica holsters her pistols and draws her rifle as she says this.

Dylan walks up to the door, close behind the engineer, who was picking the bombs back up. "Ok, you five," the merchant said to five of the best mercenaries within the group, "I want you to go find cover over there and than distract those fools above. If you have to, burn them alive..."

The catwalk was actually only a few feet above the Eclipse mercs, and its railing was glass, preventing any real cover. It didn't take long for the patrolling mercs to spot the merchants above, and one Trooper called out, "Corporal, they're here!" Geero, also in the room, snapped his head up at the merchants, and spotted Jessica among them. "Take them out! Now!" he shouted, before ducking through the door on the left side of the room. The Eclipse Troopers began moving up the stairs and ramp, firing as they went, while several more emerged from the tunnel to the right, supported by a human Eclipse Engineer...

"If you got any grenades or rockets left, use 'em now!" Dylan shouted while firing his rifle back at the Eclipse Mercs. Suddenly, two small guided missiles were launched from another wrist launcher, as multiple grenades persued them both...

The Troopers tried to dodge, but several were caught by the explosives and sent tumbling back to the ground floor. However, two of them made it to the merchants' level and opened up on them at nearly point-blank range with their assault rifles...
