"Honestly, magic. But before we go onto that, I'd like to know more about Greshlynk. What is it that makes you revere him? If he is a Dragon, doesn't that technically make every OTHER Dragon in the world a god by your logic?" growled Septimus curiously...

"These notebooks belonged to a travveling magician who came by here when I was a young boy. He performed for the Emperor who was reigning at that time, but left without taking the notebooks with him. I found them in what used to be his tent, and I have studied them quite abit. Inside these notebooks are all the tricks he knew, and many that are near impossible for an ordinary human to perform..." the man replied.

"A performer's handbook" said the disciple, shaking his head. "Thank you for your time, friend. but i'm afraid there is nothing you have that interests me" he said finally, before turning away from the stall, continuing towards a nearby inn...

The priest replies, "We revere Greshlynk for many reasons.... the primary reason is that he gave us Drakons our gifts of magic, and he guided us through Fafnir to where we stand today. The answer to your second question is a difficult one to explain. You see, Greshlynk was the first Dragon to exist, and, along with the other Old Gods, forged the world and its peoples. Your kind, the Dragons, are his creations. Those of you who are blessed with greater magic and knowledge, like you seem to be, are believed to be his chosen amongst his kinsmen. So technically, you are one of his chosen ones. Not up to god status, but worthy of praise, for sure."

The salesman silently put away his stuff, before muttering a silent "sh*t". He had lost a customer... all because he didn't have anything of particular value... he looked over at Lamia's empty stall, wondering just how was it that SHE had been able to get not only a large dragon to buy something, but also a SKINK PRIEST, yet he couldn't even get an ordinary human like himself to buy something... DAMNIT!

Old Gods? Tetto'eko thought curiously. It sounded very close to Old Ones, which got him interested, and he leaned forward a bit to listen in on the conversation better.

"Interesting. And what kind of Dragon was Greshlynk? How did he look? what were his traits? What qualified him as a god as far as you are concerned? Aside from creating the dragons and helping forge the world?" rumbled Septimus. The knowledge he already had of his kind and of the rest of the world was conflicting. but he knew enough that he could say Greshlynk had no hand in the creation of his kind, at least...

the disciple entered the inn, walking towards the innkeeper, wondering whether his luck would be favourable and that he would be able to acquire what he needed...

"Arsenic? Vix? Andruil? I'd like to show you something" said Dervin as he walked up to the three. in his hand was a small note. Andruil looked at him. "What is it?" he asked. "A list i was told to give you. The locations of various businesses you might find handy. There's a couple of families of Stone Masons and Weaponsmiths from a Dwarven city not too far from here...well, relatively speaking. Could be useful to help fortify this place in case it ends up becoming your headquarters" explained Dervin. "Stone Masons? How could we afford fortifications?" asked Andruil in surprise. "Alexander's given you a bit of credit to help you out with it. Valenhad is willing to pay enough to fortify the village against future attack, and provide vital weaponry improvements, within reason. Call it an insurance policy. With this being the home of one of the two most potentially effective weapons in this war, Valenhad wants to make sure it's safe" said Dervin. Andruil's eyes widened. he glanced at Vix and Arsenic...

Vix felt a hand slip under her chin and gently close her mouth, and realized that she was gaping at Dervin. She shot a look at Arsenic, but his now-brilliant green eyes were flicking between Andruil and his cousin. '...This almost seems too much to ask for,' he said slowly. 'Especially considering this is such a small, out-of-the-way place. But nonetheless. The villagers and the assassins will be deeply grateful for the news, and the help.' He allowed himself a smile. 'You have my thanks.'

The priest says, "Greshlynk is a grand Lung, an ancient kind of Dragon that rarely exists outside of the heavens. He has great, antler-like horns that shimmer gold when in the light, with one yellow eye and one red eye, to signify his control of fire and lightning. He has a thick beard, golden spikes that run along the back of his crimson form, and a grand tail wreathed in ethereal fire. Along with controlling fire and lightning, Greshlynk can foretell the future, albeit flawed, for one can change it before the time comes for it to unfold. We respect his wisdom and power, and we use his fortune telling skills for thsoe who are trully interested."

Kubba digs in his bag. "Found it."

"So this is why the forest is so dense" Desrium thought as he fought his way through the tangled branches of the shrubs around him. The rain drenched the area, and the wind blew hard, replacing the relentless pattering with loud rustling. He felt his feet sink into the ground as it turned to mud. He checked the compass, making sure he was staying true to his heading. There was still a considerable distance he had to cross before he was out of the woods...

The innkeeper, an old man of 60, and dressed rather luxuriously, spotted the disciple, before approaching him. "Welcome to the royal Tristan inn... the prices here are modest, and the comfort for those who want to stay here for any duration is truly superb. If there is anything in particular you might want, I can order it for you..." the innkeeper rasped, due to his sore throat, before adding on, "What is your name, sir?"

The Gandior flock flew around the spires, still i nsearch of a free female to lead their flock. As they flew around, another flock, about the size of theirs, flew toward them, not welcoming their presence and wanting them out. The second flock's female, a titan of immense proportions, screeched at the rest of her flock, telling them to stay back, and she herself would decimate these intruders. The leader-less flockshreaked in fear as the massive female dived toward them, fangs bared... until another, far louder shreek distorted the blue female's divebomb, causing her to miss the flock.

"What's he asking for in return?" asked Andruil, sceptical. "Always one to read the fine print, eh Andruil?" responded Dervin with a chuckle. "I know my brother well enough to know that he wouldn't give something like that for free. there's definately a catch. aside from the assassins' help in defeating the demon" answered Andruil. Dervin sighed, nodding. "Well, the price for fortifying this place to the point where it'd be able to withstand a siege by anything short of a true army, would be the free service of the Assassin's guild for the next century, or until the Guild itself disassembles. whichever comes first. This place would also become a regular stop for Valenhad messengers, scouts and would have a small occupational force to help fortify it. If they're willing to agree to those terms, this place will be all but impenetrable to any but the most well armed and prepared armies" explained Dervin. Andruil cringed. the price seemed a bit steep, but then, turning a village into a fortress was no small feat. he looked at Arsenic and Vix, leaving the decision up to them, silently pleading to try and make a counter offer...

Septimus made a low rumble, stifling a growl at the mention of Antlers, shrugging it off as a grunt of acknowledgement. Though silently, he was displeased. He didn't like to think of Dragons with antlers, as his father had them. the very thought of that fool made his blood boil. but he kept himself at peace, knowing that with each fact he picked up here, he gained a weapon to use against his father. "I have seen Dragons of a relatively similar description in my lifetime. Though not entire identical" he rumbled. it was the truth. if you took some of the description literally, and some as symbolism, there were many similarities between Greshlynk and some Dragons he had met in his past, particularly with his own kind. as if to give an example, he sighed, his eyes starting to shimmer with mana, swerving between very light cyan and golden, the movements of the shimmering light within similar to the dancing of flames, the runes down one hand flashing gold as his claw tips turned into five flames, the Dragon's eyes suddenly beginning to glitter with an almost electrical energy, as arcs of electricity started to leap between his claws, before fading, the Dragon's eyes returning to the black colour they usually were, his irises alone remaining a light cyan hue, his natural eye colour...

"I? I am but a humble disciple. If you must have a name, call me....Kristov" said the man kindly. "Would you be willing to give me some food, drink, and a room to rest? I have travelled long and hard in search for knowledge...The path coming here was a dangerous one, and I find myself in need of peace to rest and meditate"...

The priest nods upon seeing this example. "Very impressive, Dragon. Do your eyes always change colors when you cast a spell?"

"Why of course... We have an open room just down that way..." the innkeeper said as he pointed down a hallway to his right, to the first door on the left side of the hallway. We will bring you some food and refreshments very shortly, but for now, make yourself at home. Whenever your ready to pay, just come and find me. Oh, and here's the key for the room." The innkeeper put into Kristov's hand a small silver key, the numbers 12 chistled onto it. The innkeeper headed off, to inform the cooks of the inn to prepare some food and beverages for their guest...

The two unicorns were walking slowly across the plains. The soil was soft to their hooves, and it seemed that the area was great in size, as if it could go on for miles after coming out of the forest. Revion wondered if they would even find a source of water anytime soon. He also wondered if there was anything else out here. So far, it seemed empty, save for a few birds appearing in the sky and an occasional strange distant roar or the wind.

Serenity watched Revion closely as he walked. She noticed how his leg was holding up rather nicely, so far. She figured that it would be back to normal in about two or three days. "They did quite a number on you," the white filly stated. "I hope you are more careful next time?"

Revion nodded, but did not say a word. He knew what Serenity was trying to say. I guess she does have a point; there are dangers out here...maybe this land is not so safe as I thought. He looked ahead. "I wonder if we will pass any humans on the way," he said, almost quietly to himself.

"Yes, they do. What they look like depends on the kind of magic" rumbled Septimus with a smile...

The disciple walked down the hallway to the room, putting the key in the lock and twisting, a satisfying clunk being heard as the bolt slid back, Kristov pushing the door open...

The inside of the room was rather plain, having jsut enough to suit one's basic needs. The room contained a large bed, a few recently-lit candles to provide light, a table with a chair beside it, and a large book placed on the table. The title of the book was The Many Tourist Locations in Germania. A short distance from the bed was a second doorway, which led to the bathroom. The room had been colored a pale brown color, and on one of the walls was a poster, which had a map of the city of Tristan on it...

The female Gandior whirled around, trying to find the source of the extra screech. It shook it's head left and right, it's face slowly turning red in anger, before a shrill voice began to taunt it from above. "Try looking up, stupid." The voice rang out as a small blur, twice the size of a male Gandior but far smaller than the female flew right above the blue Gandior's head. The female roared out in pain as several sharp talons dug into it's skin for a split second, then were pulled out befor eit could react. The ugly monstrosity hissed in anger, trying desperately to find the attacker. Both her flock and the leader-less flock were also looking around for the attacker...

Azaria stood up and shook herself off. She turned her massive head and yawned while her tail beat back and forth in a rythm. The matriarch of the Kalesh had just transformed the undergorund cave network by covering the walls with acid, burning through them and leaving hardened debris the color of her skin.
she stretched and went out for a quick hunt before laying her first eggs.

Saurgu continues on swimming, a bit relaxed due to the fact that she was in the cold water again...
