Chiron truged on through the rain.
Droplets of water, constantly battering him, soaking him to the bone untill all hope was drained out of him.
His knees wear weak, and every step he took, his armor felt ten pounds heavier.
The young man collapsed, as his gazed locked on an inn in the distance.
Chiron lay in the mud, the rain battering his still body. The only sign of life was his faint, choppy breathing.

Eziok sat on the ramparts, playing with his bowie knife as the rain battered the might walls.

"Excellent" said Dervin, though it was obvious he wasn't as enthusiastic as he sounded. he drew a series of envelopes from his satchel and gave them to Andruil, along with the list. "These are what you'll need in order to get them to do the job for you" said Dervin. Noting Andruil's look of confusion, he continued. "They're signed letters containing the Regent's request that they aid you, along with reclaiming papers inside promising payment when they finish jobs they're asked to do". "I see....so in other words they're overly formal IOUs?" said Andruil with a quirked brow. "Yes, I suppose that's the jist of it" answered Dervin, knowing now Andruil was just winding him up. "Thank you for your help, Dervin. I'll be sure to tell the Regent all about it in my next letter to him" said Andruil with a smirk. "Grateful for it, cousin" responded Dervin, still not too happy that Andruil had haggled him into making the deal on his own terms. still, at least he got SOMETHING out of them...

"Indeed it would...but i have doubts that my bloodline would allow it" growled Septimus...

Kristov washed his face in a bowl of water left inside for customers, though he didn't change and had put the satchel back on. his work required vigilance. you could never tell when you'd need to be ready to move. the knowledge he seeked was flighty, and he needed to be prepared to pursue it...

"Where the hell was he going?" muttered Bairn as he followed the tracks, the others behind him. "What could've made them come all the way out here?" said David. "We're here to find out" responded Rupert. David grunted, not entirely amused by the obvious answer. "Hey Andrew, hand me the water" he said as he looked over to the man. Andrew looked at him, his skin pale, his body covered in horrific gashes, his eyes glazed over, the pupils seeming to be covered in a greyish white layer, blood stains going down from his eyes and mouth, the man looking at him silently. David's eyes widened as he tapped Rupert on the shoulder, glancing at him, only to see the man's face covered in thick slashes, hardly recognisable. the man stumbled back and tripped, falling backwards, hitting the ground, everything going black...

Chiron rolled over onto hs back and laid in the mud, the rain battering his chest and face. He somehow found the strength to pick himself up, a herculean task at the moment, and began a slow walk over to the Inn. It was so close, but he felt like it grew farther into the distance every step he took towards it. Finally, after what seemed like hours, but was only a matter of minutes, he had made it to the door of the Inn. Exhausted, his knees weak, he knocked on the wooden door three times, the sound echoing off the facade of the building into the trees.

An old Val'kesh male slowly opend the door and poked his head out.
He gasped when he saw Chiron's bloodied and quickly slammed the door in the wounded warriors face.

Chiron couldn't belive it, he hadn't even said anything and the man had rejected him, just like that, without an explanation? This is what he got for for sideing with the revolutionaries. There were some sitll loyal to the king and his laws against interacction with outsiders, but Kind Hussara had been dead for 6 months now. Some, couldn't accept that.

Ignoreing the pian in his chest, Chiron turned from the Inn, and instantly took a blast of the torrential rain to the face. "ANYTHING ELSE?". scramed the furious young human as he limped off into the fog and rain.

The priest nods in agreement. "Well, we'll just have to see....." the priest pauses. "Are you ready?"

The priest stands in the room they were in, which was completely devoid of objects, save for a chair or two, and a torch. "This place was once a torture chamber until King Drachenstein had it closed down," the priest explains. "Thankfully, he wasn't sadistic enough to keep the church that merciless. Now, do you feel that you are capable of doing this?"

"Shapeshift myself? no. I seriously doubt I'd be capable of that. Some of the greatest Mages of my kind were among my family, and it was common knowledge that they were unable to shapeshift, though the reason for that escapes me. shapeshifting other objects however....MIGHT be possible. My grandfather did it once" growled Septimus as he eyed the priest...

Ikargu continues on flying back to his and Sarah's home, turning his head back for a moment and looked at Saurgu, still swimming in the water.

"King Mandu, my lord!" the spy yelled as he ran into the Confederate castle, his king already wide-awake as he charged in. "What, what is it?" the older man asked, before the sudden reply came, "it's about Draxon and it's 'new king'!"

The female Gandior kept on falling it's massive wings, trying to flush out the attacker. Before long, a blurr moved out of the corner of her eye. The massive batroared in sadistic glee as it whirled around, anticipating the divebomb by bringing it's large sharp talons up, ready to catch her attacker.

It didn't work.

The attacker slammed itself into the Gandior's gut, just above the claws. the massive bat was flung out of the sky from the impact, hurtling down past the mist that covered the middle section of the spires to the jagged rocks below. The attacker maanged to keep itself in the air, using both of it;s wings to keep itself aloff. BOth flocks of Gandiors were dumbstruck when they realized that the attaccker was another female Gandior. This one, however, was twice the size of the avarage male, with a 18 foot wingspan, and was quite abit smaller than most females. a scar ran down just behind her right eye, and her left wing had a small tear in it. The female turned around, hissing out a warning to the resident flock to get lost, or face the fate of their leader. The flock, not wanting to have any trouble, took off, flying out of the area like bats out of Hell...

The door to the room where the disciple was in opened, and the innkeeper himself entered, carrying with him a small glass of water and some starters, mainy some bread and soup....

Darius stood in the Tribunal chamber of elders, the massive bronze and gold arches around him appearing duller today. Or maybe it was just him imagineing it.
The king paced aorund the room, looking up at the elders, or as the people called them 'selectmen'.

"Heritics," started the king, "We have been deemed heritics by our own people, we have been shamed for 'spouting blasphemy', and for conspirating against the pope? ALL FALSE CHARGES I SAY! WE ARE NO THE HERITICS, THE MADMEN, THE CRAZED RABBLE, OR THE WEAK ONES!"

Darius stopped for a moment to take a breath, spun around and pointed directly to a portrait of the pope hanging on the wall, and continued yelling, "Where was he when we needed him? We suggest the simplest changes, and make public our distatse for certain parts of our so called religion, and he deems us HERITICS!"

The assembled elders remained silent, the feeling of the kings power in the room was palpable.

The Frondfoot was now lying on his side, hiss back curved and hiss arms and legs tucked in towards his center. Perioul's side gradually rose and fell with each breath he took. He dark blue lizard had fallen asleep to the sound of the rain, and was at peace. However, there was movement underneath his closed eyelids, small twitches as a noise reached his ears. It was faint and would have gone unnoticed to the average person. As it grew louder, Perioul's eyes shot open and his pupils dilated, becoming black slits surrounded by bronze. The lizard rolled itself back onto its feet, its slender body straightening out. Perioul walked over to the edge of the porch, stopping by the stairs before rearing onto his rear legs. He sat down after, his tail wrapped around him and the tip hanging off the edge. The lizard looked down the street, the direction where the sound was coming from. Heavy footsteps. Amidst the cover of light grey obscuring the buildings in the distance, Perioul saw Desrium approach. His eyes were locked on the armored being as he walked up to the porch and then the stairs a short while later. The two exchanged looks, staring into each other eyes. Perioul's nostrils flared as he scented the stranger, his snout pitched down so it was mere inches away from Desrium's face. There was a pleasant smell on him, familiar but distorted by the rain. Desrium reached into his bag and the Frondfoot pulled his head back, eyeing him warilly. Desrium held his arm out to the lizard, in his hand was a purple tipped frond leaf, gripped by the main stem. Perioul cocked his head and moved forward again, jaws slowly parting. Suddenly without warning, he clamped down on the frond and wrenched it out of Desrium's grip, only a small peice stripped of most of its leaves remaining in his hand. The lizard chewed up the peice he managed to take before asking for the small bit in Desrium's hand. The armored being chuckled and held it to the lizard's maw. He took it with a slow, eased motion. Desrium walked off to the door after that, knocking on it and waiting to be let in, water running down his body and pooling up at his feet.

Sarha held on tightly, ready to return home after a lnog time in the water....

Draco sits upon his throne, suprised that the Ra'zac had not returned yet. He sighs audibly. "Never have a monster do a Drakon's job.... SERVANT!" A boy, maybe in his early teens, runs out. "Yes, my lord?" "Go to the barracks and fetch me 4 Gryphon Masters..... I have a job for them to do," Draco says. "Yes, my leige," the servant replies before he runs towards the barracks. "And make it quick!" Draco hisses. "This needs to be done quickly and efficiently."

Ikargu continues on flying, the ice dragon soon ascending into the air with his daughter again, the two heading back to their home.

Shezz continues on ahead of the others, hissing as something moves in the bushes.

"Well? Speak up!" Mandu ordered, while the spy almost immedietely responded, "Draco, the old prince, had requested someone murder his father, and the orders were carried out. Appearently, something else is involved with this, and are planning on conquering all of Aster together!"

"Perhaps i'll practice doing it to other things before i experiment on my own body" responded Septimus. the few shapechangers he knew always told him that it took time. to take another form, one must first study the form, learn it's behaviour and mannerisms, learn to think like it does, learn to visualise the world through it's eyes, before one could even ATTEMPT to take that form. it was not a magic that could be learned in a day. or a week. or even a month. it took years to hone this art to the point of practical use...

Meanwhile, the workers in the village had managed to clear up most of the rubble. now came the difficult work. "Dervin! we're ready!" called one of the workers, the engineer in charge of the operation. Dervin nodded as he rushed over. meanwhile, the soldiers had proceeded to offload the second cart of their caravan, calling Andruil over. As he approached, they showed him what was inside. the contents were several metallic bolts and ammunition of a considerable size. "Know what this is?" said one of the men, Thomas, a large muscular man clad in heavy plate armour from the waist down, the top armour having been removed to make lifting easier. "I suppose you're going to tell me?". Thomas shook his head, chuckling. "Let's just say it's the pieces needed to assemble what's coming on the second caravan" he said. "What's on the second caravan?" asked Andruil. "Wait and see. Let's just say it'll be a pleasant surprise" answered Arthur, a second soldier assisting with the work. "What's the point of mentioning this to me and not telling me the rest?" asked Andruil. "No point. We just like seeing you boiling in your own curiosity" answered Thomas with a smirk. "Oh. the pain. Tis unbearable. How could you be so heartless as to torture me so?" responded Andruil, holding his head dramatically, as if the lack of information truly hurt him, Thomas cackling at the reaction. "see? that's why we're doing it!" said the man. Andruil took a dramatic bow, complete with a twist of the wrist below his chest. "Thank you. Thank you. You are too kind....Now get back to work you lazy slobs" said Andruil, a sly look in his sapphire eyes, the smirks on Thomas and Arthur's faces suddenly dropping, replaced with a split second scowl, not liking how Andruil had torn them from their moment of fun and thrown them unceremoniously back into the real world, where they had work to do and limited time to do it. Thomas and Arthur headed off to the other cart, helping move the equipment inside, as well as assisting with wreckage clearing...

the disciple looked over his shoulder, eying the man as he entered. "Thank you, friend. You shouldn't have come all the way to my room to bring me food. the main hall's tables would've sufficed" he said...

David's eyes opened a crack. just enough to remind him he wasn't surrounded by darkness. he opened his eyes, looking around. his vision was blurry, the shadow of a sound reaching his ears. there was no movement. only grey. he stumbled to his feet slowly, leaning against a tree for support as he got his bearings. he looked around him. nothing. just trees. trees and mist. that damned mist. it was everywhere. above. below. all around him. the sky itself seemed to have become filled with it. fog. grey skies. maybe it'd rain too. the area was lifeless. total silence. not even the rustle of hares, squirrels or mice in the undergrowth. not even the twittering of birds in the trees. just total silence. his breathing sounded deafening against the silent surroundings. "Bairn? Andrew!? Rupert?! ANYONE?!" he called out. nothing. as he called out again, a horrible pain ripped through his skull. "Argh DAMN...my head" he said, holding his head at the source of the pain....the back of his skull, just above the neck. something wet was there. wet and warm. he brought his hand to his face, and saw blood. "God DAMMIT ALL" cursed the man loudly, feeling another jolt of pain. he decided to remain silent, the man looking around, trying to remember what direction they came from. trying to follow the others was suicide at this point...he had to get back to the village...wait...the others....the last he remembered seeing of them....they had...no. it couldn't be. it was his nerves....his nerves were acting up. he imagined them as undead monstrosities...how foolish could he get? he decided he'd sort through his thoughts once he had recovered in the village...for now...he had to focus on actually getting back...

"...He was right NEXT TO YOU!" roared Bairn, Rupert shaking his head fearfully. "I don't know, Bairn! You think i'd intentionally lose one of our men?" he said. but Bairn's rage wouldn't let up. "each one of us is vital! we're a SEARCH PARTY! we're supposed to be FINDING people! not LOSING them!" he said. "You think i don't KNOW that?! Damn it, Jack! We've known eachother for 15 years! you really think i would intentionally harm one of our friends? have you learned NOTHING about me in the years we've known eachother?" responded Rupert. as Bairn was about to make a fiery retort, Andrew cut in. "Stop it both of you! For god's sake, listen to yourselves. you're bickering like upset spouses! None of us know what happened to David. It's obvious whatever's going on here, it's not normal! we need to stick together or we're going to disappear one by one till there's nobody left. Then what do you think will happen? when none of us get back home? 12 people of an original 50, missing over the course of a week. Kirratair'll collapse! We need to stick together and find our friends. find everyone whose missing. so let's stop concentrating on fighting and focus on finding tracks!" said the man, both Bairn and Rupert eyeing him for a few moments, Bairn finally relenting. "He's right....We shouldn't be fighting....our friends are depending on us" said the man, before beginning to walk forward, resuming his search for tracks. "Nobody let anyone out of their sights" said Rupert as he began to follow Bairn, Andrew and the others nodding, following...

The Priest nods. "First thing is first: what form do you think would be most useful to you? Make sure to choose something reasonable, though- your first transformation is often the one that you will use the most. Just something I've observed in my years......"

The Gryphon Masters soon enter with the servant, bowing before the king. "Rise, my fellow Draxons." They do so. "I have a very important mission for all of you to do. The first mission will be given to the two of you, riders." Draco points towards two of the masters. "You will scour the woods from above until you come across a seemingly tranquil town. There, however, lies a traitor to our cause, along with an elf that has caused us trouble. I want you to kill the traitor, and kill anyone else you can before you are detected. If possible, capture the elf and bring him to me; he has a scar along his throat, and his eyes change colors." The gryphon Masters nod and check that they have their bows on them, since using their trademark lances in this mission would be suicide. The Gryphon Masters soon bow before heading out to ride towards the forest. Draco then turns to the other two. "You two have an equally important, but much less violent, mission," Draco says. "I want you to head north to an old kingdom named Germania. They can be useful assets in the wars to come." Draco pulls out a note and hands it to one. "That note is to be given to the leader and no other. Understand?" "Yes, my leige," the riders say together. "Good.... now get moving." The Gryphon Masters nod before rushing out with the others. Draco sits back upon his throne. He turns to the servant. "You are dismissed." "Thank you, my leige." the servant soon leaves. Draco sighs. He hoped to not be failed again.

Sarah holds on, a bit tired from the swim...

The brothers keep moving onward...

the clatter of hooves on cobblestone echoed through the streets of Tristan, a grey-robed man rushing to reach the entrance of the royal palace. his message had to be delivered. on the back of the man's robes was the symbol of Valenhad. a silver shield held by two golden dragons, a falcon with spread wings decorating the shield itself, the background navy blue...

"Ideally, a human form" responded Septimus, giving up, realising that the priest wouldn't understand what he meant...

David ran through the trees, trying to get back. he felt like he'd been running for hours. however, noting that the sky had neither dimmed nor brightened he knew that was not the case. he leaned against a tree, gasping for air, tired. he looked around, to try and figure out where he was. looking towards the ground to try and see footprints, he spotted a bloody rock. wait. that rock....it was the same rock that he had hit his head against. he was running in circles. "Well that's just brilliant. just bleedin' BRILLIANT" he said, feeling a horrible throb in his skull, forcing him to his knees. an extremely faint sound seemed to flirt with his ears, giving him just enough to pick it up, but preventing him from figuring out what it was.....wait. it just....was that a whisper? out here? impossible. the man shook his head. it was his nerves again. Oh stop being pathetic David. Your dad was a warhero and here you are frightened of noises in the woods? seeing things? thought the man, getting to his feet and pushing onwards...

"DANIEL!" yelled Bairn as he saw the man standing there, having suddenly stopped following. his skin was pale, and he seemed to be shivering. he looked at them silently. he muttered something that none of them could hear. "What?" said Rupert. "...s....ing...or...us..." he muttered, most of the sentence still unintelligible. "Speak up, Daniel. what's wrong?" said Bairn. "It's...coming....for us" he muttered, finally understandable. "What're you talking about? What's coming for us?" said Rupert. the man's eyes widened, what little colour remained in his face fading, the man pale and sickly, the sheen of sweat coating him as he pointed up towards the trees. the entire group jumped around nervously, expecting whatever monstrous animal was responsible for the loss of everyone to be waiting for their eyes to find. nothing. "What the bloody hell is the MATTER with you Da-" started Bairn as he turned back around to face Daniel, finding nothing but the dirt where the man was standing, his bow on the ground where his feet would've been. "DAMN IT" said Bairn. "I'm getting out of here. Nothing's worth losing my life to whatever's out here" said Joseph fearfully as he turned. "Joseph STOP!" said Bairn. "No Jack, YOU stop! We're all gonna get killed or worse out here for people who've already suffered the same fate, and I won't be led to my death like some sheep!" he retorted, before eyeing Andrew and Rupert. "You two can head to your deaths if you like. It's your call to make. If either of you value your lives and would rather NOT be claimed by whatever's in this god forsaken forest, i suggest you come with me. Let him obsess about them till it kills him. just don't become another victim of his obsession" he warned. Rupert and Andrew looked between Bairn and Joseph. "Jack...Joseph's right. We came out here as a group of seven. walking together and knowing something was off...and yet now there's only four of us left. At the very least we should return to the village and bring a bigger group...maybe come up with something to make sure we can't be split up" said Rupert, Andrew nodding. "We might meet up with Samuel..maybe even David" he added. Jack sighed. "Alright, fine. but we're not going to give up on our friends. I don't care if you have bloody cold feet. If this really is something unnatural, then leaving them out there even longer just so we can be ready may be the same as abandoning them altogether" he said, the others nodding. "Don't worry Jack, we'll be back as soon as we've got ourselves ready. we're not giving up on them" said Rupert as he patted the older man's shoulder. Bairn nodded, understanding and appreciating the encouragement. as he headed forward, Rupert eyed him with admiration. Jack felt he was responsible for each and every one in the village. he was like a father to them all. it took a special kind of person to command that much respect and to hold that kind of value towards his men. and it was worth it. Rupert knew that each and every man in the village would willingly give their lives to protect him. the only other person who had anywhere near that much backing in the village was Sebastian Archer...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"

Darius, still daydreaming about his speech the week after theyhad been excomuunnicated, shrugged of the daydream and looke back out to the crowds.
There was a mass of civillians watching the infantry mn use their new weapons, the NS mark .12.
The soliders showed expert marksanship with the new technology, fireing a rapid succesion of 5 bolts in a matter of seconds, quickly replaceing the magazine with morebolts, and continueing fireing.
Darus' sratey as not based upon masses of warriors, but only a decent amount of highly skilled elite marksman.
Sighing, the king turned around on the balcony and began walking back into his bedroom, fingering his crown.
He was doing what was best for the citizes of the New Germania Republic, right?

Eziok threw the last dagger at the target, missing miserbly. "Damn, another miss?", he though to himself, "They say I need to be trained with the new weapons of war, thats a lie, theres nothing mroe reliable than a good crossbow."

Chiron limped along the side of the dirt road, the rain still covering his armor.
"Lovely, just lovely!", yelled the young man at he sky again, "Nothing better to do, eh?"
