Septimus' eyes narrowed for a moment, before his eyes began to glow, a pair of large bejewelled silver necklaces rising from one of the satchels. both were ornate, with emeralds decorating one while the other was decorated with a blend of sapphires and topaz. "I assume these would suffice?" growled the Dragon...

The Archivist looks surprised. "One is enough, good dragon. I'm gonig to be honest here, and say that this is probably more than thsoe books are worth." Digging into the bag under the desk, the Archivist pulls out 5 gold peices. "There. That should even out the cost." He takes the necklace and hands the gold coins to Septimus. "Here you are."

The doors to Archives swung open and a robed figure seemed to float inside, its feet, much like the rest of its body, obscured by the robe. The hood of the robe was pulled up, the resulting darkness from the hood completely obscuring its face, almost unnaturally well. Intricate cyan patterns ran all over the dark purple robe, seeming to coarse with energy despite being inanimate. The robed figure approached the Archivist, seemingly ignorant of the massive dragon nearby...

Meanwhile, Uriel soared over the landscape from above, a scaled creature wrapped tightly around his neck: The serpent, which was not at all thrilled about being in the air. After nearly sending the creature to its death, the dragon found it hard to leave it behind...and the creature was more then glad to tag along, it seemed...at least until Uriel was airborne.

Septimus was just about to reply when the entity entered the Archives, the Dragon having already taken what belonged to him. he eyed the entity curiously, but disregarded it. he had nothing to do with the entity, and thus, saw no need to stick around. he nodded in respect to the Archivist, before turning towards the entrance, the books and wealth having already been returned to their place in the satchels...

The Archivist says tp Septimus, "Knowledge is power, my friend. Use it wisely."

Ferdinand eyes the robed being before turning to Septimus. "Hold on. I've got some questions for that fellow over there..... he seems suspicious." The guard walks up to the figure and taps him on the shoulder. "Pardon me, sir, but is have a few questions to inquire you about....."

A split second later, Ferdinand and the Archivist were left in an almost comatose state, frozen in mid-action with half closed eyes. "And I've a few questions for you, child of flame..." the figure echoed from underneath the hood, referring to the dragon...

Septimus cringed, having wanted to avoid getting involved. still, he decided he'd be better off obliging. "And those would be?" he growled as he turned to eye the creature...

"Why are you here, creature?" the being asked bluntly, unmoving as it faced the dragon...

"One would think my surroundings would answer that question fairly clearly" rumbled Septimus as he looked at his surroundings, towering shelves full of books being as clear an answer as saying it directly. "I strive for knowledge I do not have" he added, clarifying...

"I would suggest you leave immediately, child. This place is plagued with darkness even you would not understand." the being continued, as if completely ignoring the dragon's answer...

"Oh, I assure you, I'm well aware of that fact" responded Septimus. "This was my last stop in this city before leaving. I'm eager to put this place behind me" he added. "Peace be upon you, friend. May your path be an easy one" he growled finally as he stepped towards the door, carefully stepping out of the narrow entrance and out into the street...

The being said nothing, simply striding out of the Archives and away the scene, while the two incapacitated humans resumed as usual, as if the being had not been there at all...

Revion halted, a thoughtful expression on his face. "We haven't seen anybody in a while," he stated calmly. "I wonder how far we traveled...it seems like ages!"

Serenity rolled her eyes. "We haven't traveled that long. It is just past noon." She walked ahead of him and sighed. "It seems you do not know where to go next...the best thing to do would be to just continue forward. Maybe we will eventually come across something; a structure or a creature...maybe a human." The filly shook her head at the thought of coming across one of those two legged beings. "I hope they are not as cruel as the elders depict them to be...then again, you never know."

Revion snorted and shook his head in disagreement before trotting to catch up with her. "It is best to find out for ourselves...maybe there is a place that humans reside! After all, all we know is our homeland and all we've seen so far is that dragon, Arashi and those creatures that almost killed me...maybe there is something even more exciting." There was a slight twinkle in his brown eyes as he said those. His trot turned into a fancy prance.

Serenity tried to stifle a laugh at his attempt at being fancy. "What are you, some common horse," she teased. "You look silly prancing like that."

"I could have told you that," Tetto'eko chirped with a snort. "I've had a bad feeling about this place since we arrived..."

Arsenic chuckled. 'Indeed. I don't look forward to the dark times I see ahead; but I agree, she is a valuable ally, and one I know I wouldn't want to fight.'

Andruil simply nodded, continuing onwards in silence, though his senses were on alert now, wary. they hadn't reached the woods yet, and wouldn't for at least another hour. but he knew that whatever threats they sensed here, would only be compounded once they entered the treeline...

Septimus spread his wings as he grabbed Tetto, placing him on his back before leaping into the air, beating his wings powerfully to gain lift, the ground below seeming to grow smaller and smaller as they ascended...

Arsenic kept his mind at the ready, picking up little sparks all around them; the consciousnesses of animals, mainly focused on food or whatever else they needed. They weren't strong enough for him to need to worry about them. But he was on the alert for a bigger consciousness; one big enough to probe the minds of himself and his companions. While searching he was also lightly touching the minds of Vix and Andruil, just enough to be sure nothing was probing their minds as well. He was also putting up something of a mental "bubble" around them, to muddle their thoughts to outsiders and make it difficult for anyone to pick up much.

The creature stayed low in the grass along the roadside, slinking along quietly. While it could no longer read their thoughts easily, it could very easily hear them, and so far they didn't appear to have any evil intentions anyway...

"So tell me. What experience do you have with the creatures of the forests? Please, no stories about angry squirrels. I needn't know what happened if that's what it's about" said Andruil as he rode, upping the pace to a trot, wanting to cover ground faster than they were at present...

Vix burst out laughing and Arsenic grinned. 'I know their minds. Most of them run on instinct. Some of them are more intelligent though. Makes it easier to judge their habits when I'm running late on offing a target and I'm low on food.'
