As they began to move again, Andruil patted Uriel's flank. "I know I know. I don't like it either. But hey, I've been wrong before. I thought you wanted to hurt my friends. Maybe I'm wrong this time, too?" he said quietly to the dragon, though wondering if it even understood him...

Uriel gave Andruil a questioning look, though mostly for his decision, understanding the hybrid well...

Arsenic looked back at the black dragon from his position, ready to catch Vix if she fell, reaching out mentally. Thank you again, friend, he said.

Uriel nodded in response to the elf, his eyes widening again as he relaxed. As he moved to follow, the dragon suddenly stopped, looking back toward his meal. Leaping back into the air, Uriel soared off toward his catch...

Andruil smiled as he saw the dragon fly towards it's meal. he continued onwards, hoping to get to the location he had in mind before the sun went down...

It grew darker outside as the day neared its close. The rain had picked up with time, droplets streaming down across the window Desrium looked out of. Shadows waved back and fourth as the fire flickered, casting its orange glow on the room. After being still for so long, the armored figure stood up and walked around the chair, grabbing the book as he passed. He walked across the room and to the door, opening it and stepping out into the hallway. A few lamps were lit, a dim yellow light shining down from the walls. Desrium walked down the corridor and then the stairs. When he was back on the bottom, he turned his head, looking to the large table. Various people were seated at it, the guests of the inn. They were talking among themselves, joking and laughing with their fellows. He could only assume Syria was with them. They spared no glances, and Desrium went unnoticed to the others. "Perhaps its for the best" He thought as he looked away, walking over to the library door. It was still ajar after all this time. He pushed it open and put the large book back where he found it. He turned around and was about to leave the room, when he stopped himself. He turned to face the book shelf to his right, his gaze locked on a book bound in green, with a gold metallic trim on the sides. Its title was "The Measure Of Virtue". After a moment of looking at the book, Desrium slipped it out of the neat row it was in and flipped through the pages. This one was in good shape all the way through. With his interest peaked, Desrium left the room with the book inhand and headed up the stairs silently, gone as quickly as he had come

Mordecai glowered at Andruil silently, having heard the remark he had made to Uriel, but said nothing...

In minutes, a shadow was cast over the group as they moved, the sleek form of Uriel soaring overhead, something scaly wrapped around his neck...

"That rain isnt letting up" A man said as he looked out of a window on the farside of the room. Another simply grunted before saying "Spring showers. What ever isnt dumped on the mountains as snow hits us" he raised a mug and promptly started chugging its content. "This Daavenian ale is good for times like now!" He added after, resting the mug on the table. Warms you up better than any fire, I tell you that. Makes me want to have a steady supply come winter!"
"The travellers are lucky they got here when they did. The other towns are few and far between, and I wouldnt want to be caught out in that downpour!" A woman sitting at the end of the table chimed in. She turned to Syria, who had been sitting next to her and said "Speaking of...'travellers', theres a rumor that the stranger from yesterday is staying here. Is it true?" A smug smirk crept onto Syria's face as she folded her arms and leaned back in her chair. "Natrually. Where else would a traveller choose to spend their days in Daaven?"
"I dont like it" Someone said, a man with a black hood. He didnt live at the inn, he was just visiting. The coat was wet from the walk through the rain but he insisted on keeping it on. He regularly kept his head low even when he was speaking, but his voice was always loud enough for all to hear. "Its not natrual, the way he looks. Have you seen his eyes? I have, just glimpses but Ive seen them. They're blank and redder than the ripest apple. You cant tell what exactly he's looking at...what he's searching for" He raised his gaze just a little to look at the others, who were staring at him. Some had raised eyebrows, others were listening intently, agreeing. "He walked past me today, and I swear I felt...something after that. Like I was being watched by something. Im telling you theres something...wrong about him" He continued to say. "Animals that were taking shelter from the rain left their refuge as he went on his way!-"
"Please!" Syria exclaimed. "Ive heard enough, Tserv. Theres nothing wrong with the traveller! He's just a bit...peculier...but the same could be said about you!"
"I dont waltz around with a full suit of armor!" Tserv retorted; someone chuckling afterwards. "No, but you insist on keeping that soaked cloak on!" The man with the mug said. "Your gonna catch a cold, man! At least have a drink to keep yourself warm!" Tserv scowled at the man before looking back at Syria. "I still dont like it. You dont show the agents of darkness kindness" Syria scoffed. "Agents of darkness? From what Ive seen, the traveller couldnt be an agent of anything!" She implored. "He was willing to sleep in an alleyway because he didnt have any money on him for goodness sake!" She thought, shaking her head. She wouldnt make that public business, out of respect of the stranger. "As if evil doesnt take ruses and disguises!" The hooded man snapped. Syria waved a hand dismissively. "And how many of you believe this is an issue?" She asked, looking about the table. There were uncertain murmurs amongst those seated, the people unsure what to make of it all. The inn keep sighed and got to her feet. "Im going to go check on the Frondfoot" She said, her voice having an irritable edge. Just because of someone's suspicions, others regarded the stranger with fearful resignation. Did Tserv even exchange words with him? While on the subject, did Desrium exchange words with anyone besides her? Syria shook her head as she left the table and walked past the stairs. The library door caught her attention for a short moment. She could have sworn the door wasnt opened that wide, but she shrugged it off by the time she reached the door to the inn. She opened the door and peaked outside. Sprawled out infront of her was Perioul, his eyes open and locked on her. He raised his head off the wooden floor and cocked it, letting out an inquisitive growl as he did, as if sensing that something was bothering her.

Meanwhile Desrium was back in his chair, the door locked and the book in his hands. His focus was completely taken by the words on the pages infront of him.

the sky had been veiled in cloud, as the lightest trickle of rain seeping through the canopy. Andruil looked up at the dragon, curious and somewhat concerned over whether it'd come down to escape the water which would undoubtedly be a problem flying. Shiryaz had ceased his flying over the canopy, and now alternated between hopping from tree to tree alongside the group, to sitting on Andruil's shoulder. from time to time Andruil would give a worried glance at Vix. "Has this happened before, Arsenic?" he asked as he looked at the elf questioningly...

"Ach!" grunted Septimus irritably as the winds began to pick up, rain beginning to fall from the clouds above onto his wings, making flight difficult. "I'm going down Tetto. Flying in this kind of weather is tiring and risky. a stray wind and you'll be plummeting to the ground" he growled, as he pulled his wings inwards slightly to lessen the surface area, making him slowly descend, the Dragon's secondary wing-spines and tail fins spreading out widely to help stabilise him in the rough weather...

Arashi landed softly before a large ring of arches, 7 pillars of square, black marble linked by a solid ring of the same material. it seemed old and worn, the copper urns on top of the marble ring above each pillar having long since gained a shade of lime. the winds roared around him as lightning struck the countryside and the ocean battered the cliffs a mere 100 yards from him, the Dragon having used the horrific storm to conceal his arrival here, making minor adjustments to various wind patterns to build the storm for him. The massive serpentine dragon chuckled lowly as he looked around, his icy blue glowing eyes surveying a sight he had not seen in over a thousand years...

The dragon smirked coldly as he put a foot on a massive stone tablet forming a path into the centre of the marble circle. "It has been a long time, Archdemon. Your hour...and your salvation....has come" rumbled the Dragon, as he walked into the massive circle, a bright orb of light blue energy forming around one of his arms, as electricity crackled along his hand, thunder booming above, the Dragon setting his clawed hand down into the centre of a massive circular marble platform in the centre of the marble arch-ring. At that moment, seven lightning bolts struck the marble ring over the pillars, the urns shedding their lime colouration, glowing white with sheer heat, as silvery runes lit up all over the marble structure. "Rise, Gilgamesh! Rise, that the world may remember your power!" boomed the dragon, a second series of lightning bolts striking the urns, which burst into blue flames, a monstrous roar booming out over the fury of the storm, the flames swirling unnaturally towards the centre, engulfing Arashi for a split second before fading, the Dragon falling to his knees, holding his chest up with difficulty, his front limbs only barely managing to hold his weight as the runes on his body blared with an intensity capable of rivalling the lightning around him itself. the Dragon roared as lightning struck in rapid succession all around him, several scorch marks scarring the earth before silence returned, broken only by the pattering of raindrops on marble, grass, and stone cliff face, the roar of the waves far below only barely audible. Arashi rose, his runes flashing red for a split second, before returning to white and fading back to their natural glow, his eyes pure white orbs. "We have work to do, Gilgamesh... Your sentence has commenced. Let us begin" rumbled Arashi, his voice even deeper than usual, dark wisps swirling around the Dragon's body, the Demon finally being free after over a millennium of imprisonment, his conqueror, jailer and master having freed him...fulfilling the millennium old pact between them...or so he thought...

Tett'eko merely nodded, his hood over his head. This storm didn't seem natural to him. As powerful of an astromancer as he was, he had not seen this coming. Another concern to add to a growing pile...

Mordecai wrapped his wings around himself as he huddled on Arsenic's shoulder, periodically flicking raindrops from his scaly head...

'Unfortunately, yes,' Arsenic replied, keeping an eye on Vix as well. 'Vix is stubborn enough to work herself until this happens, and she doesn't like to let anyone know when it's getting to be too much for her.'

Uriel landed ahead of the group, looking up at the sky angrily, a drop splattering near his eye, causing him to look away. With an uneasy groan, the dragon bounded back toward the others, running circles around them in the rain...

Septimus descended slowly, gently touching down at the edge of a forest, furling his wings as he walked into the treeline. content to go on foot till he found a decent spot to rest for the night...

Andruil sighed, a hand massaging his temples as he thought for a minute. "Any idea why her scars go like that before this happens?" he asked...

Arsenic frowned, letting his gaze follow the black dragon for a moment as he thought. 'Well...some poisons tend to cause the effect,' he said slowly. 'The problem is they're rare, and the majority don't last as long as this...one or two might, however.'

"Hmm....Any idea what they are and if there are cures?" asked Andruil after a moment of thought. There were rumours of elven tribes in some of Aster's forests. He wanted to have the information to question them about it if he ever came across them...

Arsenic kicked a small pebble and watched it roll away from the toe of his shoe. He'd been taught about many poisons during his training, and he'd made it a point to remember them all, seeing as he used them himself...that, and even an assassin could never afford to be too careful. 'One of them is known as 'Silent Death'. When introduced to a victim's bloodstream, its symptoms appear as common illness at first. Lots of coughing, sneezing, maybe even some vomiting. As soon as it reaches the brain though, the victim suffers violent seizures and may self-harm during them. I haven't been able to track down whether it occurs naturally, or it needs to be made by hand.' He paused, thinking over what he'd heard. 'The survivors, and they are few, have said that major scars tend to hurt during and after the poisoning....but I don't know if there's ever been a case quite as bad as Vix's.'

'Dante might know...but we're probably better off checking out the nearest bookstore or library. Silent Death isn't a recent discovery,' the assassin said.
