'Maybe.' privately though, he wasn't entirely sure they'd find much.

Uriel knocked away the pebble disturbed by the elf, chasing it further down the path with some interest...

The Gryphon masters soon reach Draxon, restign their mounts as the storm soon reaches their kingdom as well. the riders head in to inform their king of the interesting observations they had made...

As Uriel ran after the pebble, the trees gave way to a river bank, lush grass continuing along the ground until just a few feet from the water, where dirt and pebbles replaced grass, eventually ending in water-smoothed rocks. this particular spot seemed almost isolated, as if there was only one way into it. large, strange, ancient trees overhung the area, strangely forming a kind of natural wooden dome over the place, the branches of one tree seeming to meld into one another, as if this entire place was just located in the midst of a single tree's branches, nature's captivating mane of hair hanging from the branches in the form of rich, light green strands of leaves. the slowly fading rain broke the river's almost unnaturally smooth surface, as if in an attempt to break the sky's rolling, winding mirror on earth. Andruil walked into the small semi-clearing, the strange willow trees' massive arms and thick leaves acting like a shade, protecting those below from the rain. dry leaves still crackled and crunched underfoot, as a testament to the willows' success. the willows' shade cast a light, sleepy green tint over the area, as the branches' shadows served to shield it's guests from the sun that would usually be blazing above. "Aaaaah. Home sweet home" said Andruil with a smile as he held his arms out to his sides, as if showing the others into a palace. Shiryaz took off and flew off to a particularly cosy corner of the little shielded clearing, laying amidst the curved, almost den-shaped collection of roots at the foot of one of the willows, the spot having a perfect view of the river and located in such a position that it gave a clear view of the entire clearing, making it perfect for watching for intruders. Shiryaz landed on one of the lower branches above the spot, as Furax walked after the bird almost as if he knew that location was reserved. Andruil always rested there when he came through here, and by now, they knew to wait there for him...

"Of all the rotten luck. Of all the times for it to rain, it had to be now" grumbled Septimus. rain was something he had a somewhat love-hate relationship with. he could never make up his mind. on the one hand, he loved it because it was soothing and cleansing, massaging the scales along his back and revitalising him, his patterns always shimmering brightly during a storm. on the other hand, it made it impossible for him to read while he waited for the rain to pass, meaning aside from braving the rain onwards to his destination, all he could do was sleep. though, come to think of it, that wasn't such a bad idea...

Uriel looked up as the pebble hit the large willow, noticing that the rain was lessened in the area. A serpentine object fell from the dragon's neck, Zeke feeling the relative safety of the trees, and the nearby river, as a sign that he was safe to venture away from Uriel. The black dragon watched as the sea serpent approached the riverbank cautiously, staring longingly at the water...

"I don't think it's just bad luck, Septimus," Tetto'eko said, sliding off the dragon's back and quickly scuttling under the cover of the much larger creature's flank. "This storm is not natural. I believe it is magically created somehow..."

Vix slid off the horse, catching Arsenic's free shoulder to keep her balance. He steadied her and let her lean on him as he turned to give Andruil a nod. 'Not bad at all.' This would make a good spot to rest while Vix recovered. They all needed to recover, he realized, knowing the strain the sudden fit had put on everyone.

Andruil walked towards Arsenic, holding Vix's free arm and gesturing towards the spot Furax and Shiryaz were standing around. "We can set her down there. she'll be more comfortable" said Andruil, as Furax looked up at him, as if understanding, the horse moving from the spot to give the others more room...

"What makes you say that?" asked Septimus. he wasn't too good at identifying natural from magically created storms. one of many shortcomings. the Dragon spread his wings outwards just enough to give Tetto a shade from the rain. his chest wasn't especially high off the ground, and he knew it would be rather awkward for the skink to try and walk under his chest scales...

Arsenic nodded and started for the spot, Vix at this point almost staggering as she walked between them.

As they reached the spot, Andruil set Vix down, the spot underneath her seeming somewhat softer than the rest of the spot. unlike the bases of the other trees, this one had layers of grass, dry though it may be. it was bedding Andruil had set up for himself the last time he was here. but it would do for Vix for now...

The young woman let out a quiet sigh of relief as she settled, legs bent so the soles of her shoes were touching. "Thanks guys," she said quietly, eyes slightly glazed with exhaustion flicking between the two.

Mordecai flew from Arsenic's shoulder and latched onto the tree's trunk with his claws, looking around curiously. "Hey, I think I know this place..."

"Back in Hexoatl, I was the chief Astromancer," Tetto'eko explained, moving under Septimus' wing. "Trust me, I can tell the difference," he added with a chuckle.

"Don't mention it. just rest" said Andruil with a smile. he eyed Shiryaz, the Griffin Hawk gliding down from the branch and landing on Andruil's arm. "Food" he said, making sure his order was clear. Shiryaz cocked his head, before straightening, and jumping back into the air, flying off and out of the clearing, in search of prey to bring to his master...

Septimus grunted interestedly, curving his neck to give him a better look at the skink. "Any idea who or what might be responsible?" he growled curiously...

"Unfortunately, no," Tetto'eko chirped. "There are only a few creatures with the magical aptitude to alter weather, however: Dragons, Demons, the Slann, to name a few."

Septimus growled lowly at the word 'dragon'. he knew of one. but he was fairly certain the culprit was something else...afterall, Arashi was in the Kirrahara mountain range, over a hundred kilometers away...

"My apologies then, for drawing up such unsavory things," Tetto'eko said. "My guess is that this storm is probably being caused by whatever Demon owns that city now..."

Arsenic hoisted the pack of meat and set it down, ignoring the blood that had begun to seep through. it could be washed out. He leaned his head first to one side, then the other, craning his neck, several satisfying cracks sounding. He lifted the bow from his shoulder and set it down, then took off his quiver as well, setting it beside Vix as he gave his whole body a quick stretch.

"Possible, but i doubt it. the sky gets darker further East. it seems fairly light over Draxon" growled Septimus as he walked further into the forest, a bird passing overhead in his direction, disappearing into the trees up ahead with what looked like a large rabbit in it's claws...

"Now all we need is a decent fire" said Andruil as he eyed the bits of wood lying around. "Oh how I wish I had magic. would save me the trouble of lighting the fire the boring way!" he added with an exasperated sigh as he got to work preparing a fire for the camp. a few moments later Shiryaz emerged from the treeline, dropping a large brown rabbit next to Uriel's gift, not even slowing down as the falcon shot through the treeline at the edge of the shielded clearing once more. the bird knew better than anyone that his master was a voracious eater...
