"What brings you here, friend? Last I saw you were not far from the coast to the East" inquired Septimus as he eyed the armoured being, while Andruil watched warily. Furax was backed into a curve between three large willows, discomfort evident in his behaviour, while Shiryaz stared at it like he expected it to suddenly explode...if he could help it, Andruil would be gone with his companions before the entity had a chance to show it's intentions...

"The desire to find myself" Desrium replied simply, his low voice barely audible to the others, grasping the brass compass around his neck as he said it.

Of all the possible answers to that question, the one provided was the one Andruil least expected. it had shocked him so much that he had actually had a double take, lingering over what he had heard to be sure he hadn't misunderstood. "And have you had any luck?" responded Septimus, a smile on his reptilian features...

Desrium shook his head no and released the compass. He looked down to the ground and said "I have more questions than I do answers. Questions about both myself and the world that I have found myself a part of"

Arsenic's black eyes were focused on the newcomer until he felt a faint flicker at the edge of his consciousness. Surprised, he looked to the sky, feeling as though someone had just called his name from a very long away away. He thought the presence had been familiar, but it had been so distant, so fleeting, that he couldn't be sure.

Aviva let out a sigh. "It's no use. We're still too far away - I can't reach him." Zar gave her a concerned look. "Well, why don't we stop and hunt now? The day is still just starting. If we eat and drink swiftly, we can cover more ground." The black female gave a nod and angled her body downward, aiming for a clearing she'd spotted.

"Then you and I are the same" rumbled Septimus with an understanding smile. Andruil stepped over to Arsenic. These two seem to have some catching up to do. Maybe we should just leave them to it he thought. "Not before you've met Desrium properly, Andruil. At the very least, give him the benefit of a fair greeting. It's only good manners" rumbled Septimus over his shoulder, Andruil's eyes widening. he didn't remember Septimus stating he was telepathic...

"Fate's reflection in each other" Desrium said to Septimus, quoting what the dragon had said to him the night they first met. "Though it seems loneliness' end has been a clearer path for you" He added, his voice taking on an unsure inflection as he tried to make the joke, not used to speaking in such a tone. It was the first time he felt self concious of his low monotone...

An odd thing to say, Arsenic thought, shaking off the odd feeling the faint mental connection had given him.

"Ugh, sappy stuff," Mordecai thought, his mental voice only heard by Tetto'eko. "Wake me when it's over..." The Pseudodragon received a light bop of the head from the Skink's staff. "Now, now, my little reptilian friend," Tetto'eko hissed in a firm, but gentle, tone. "Some beings in this world have a difficult life, and many have tried to find themselves. I certainly have, and it's taken me centuries to get as far as I have..."

Uriel looked away with a scowl, still not trusting the newcomer, but his anger was cooled by Septimus' reaction to the odd being. Walking back over to the water's edge, the black dragon continued watching Zeke swim, contemplating when he would leave...

Septimus chuckled lowly at the comment. "A good friend of mine once said you can often not find things you want when you look for them, but that if you don't search, they will come to you. I suppose that's the case with me at the moment. and for you. Perhaps you're trying too hard?" he growled with a smile...

"Possibly" Desrium replied though his draconic friend's story did not address his issue. He really had no clue as to what he was supposed to be, and the sudden visions of a far off place, and his one encounter with the being in his mind only deepened the mystery of himself. He was trying to find who he was while trying to find out what he was. "Zuppoland" He though, glancing away from Septimus for the moment as the thought about what he had read...

The dying wail of some animal was abruptly cut off as Zar's venom did its work. He picked up the corpse and turned to look at Aviva, who was gnawing ravenously at her own catch. Bones, fur and all, the prey disappeared down the hungry dragon's throat. They would both hunt and eat enough to keep them going for the rest of the day, and then they would take to the air again.

Trajan breathed out a sigh of relief as the messangers left. He waited till they were out of the building, before he collapsed into the nearest chair. "2 countries... one which brings ill news of the other... How am I going to get through this one?" The emperor sighed to himself. RIght now, he needed to think... Could this day get any more stressful?

The servant picked up the book, before opening it up. Sure enough, it was a diary, or journal, of sorts. He began to flip through the pages, before he landed on a page that was titled An Unlikely Request. He began to read the page to himself...

Today would have been very uneventful, had I not recieved an odd request late last night. I was out walking behind the castle when I was confronted by a figure. She told me, very plainly, that she wanted Jeetis dead becuase of a fe issues that had happened in the past. She told me further that I should kill him in the morning, when he was out where I was standing at this time. I myself could hadly believe this. Why would this person want the Pope, Jeetis dead? Who was this person to tell me to kill Jeetis? Why, it was none other than-

The sevant put down the book, his eyes wide with horror. His knees wer like jellow, and were banging against each other. He himself could hardly believe this. "TRAJAN! COME QUICKLY!" The man yelled out at the top of his lungs as he raced out of the room, journal in hand, and up the stairs, passing a very stunned and confused Guame...

as Septimus stretched, he glanced from his friend, to the elder Skink several meters away. He sighed. as pleasant a character as the old reptile was, he was not the one that needed the dragon's assistance most now. With Desrium in such a difficult state, and perhaps even suffering from his troubles, the Hueilin felt it would be a better use of his abilities and time to see what he could do to help the Armoured Being. He considered the option of parting ways with the Skink...perhaps he could be left with Andruil and Arsenic...or perhaps resume his travels alone with that small drake he'd become acquainted to...

Arsenic, keeping an eye on the armored being Septimus had called Desrium, subtly urged Vix with one hand to take a seat on a tree root. He didn't want her risking another seizure.

Desrium's eyes flashed as his empty gut made itself known again with a powerful pang of hunger. "I do not suppose that you have any remnants of that dinner we shared?" The armored figure asked, feeling the effects of his long trek without proper nurishment.

Prickle turned, hearing the guard's shouts. This was going to badly. He quickly weighed up the odds. If they retreated into the jungle, they'd almost certainly be split up, or at least, walk right into a trap. They'd be dead in minutes. On the other hand, the lumber camp looked relatively new and somewhat secure. He wheeled around, shouting sharply "Turn bouts! Capture the camp! Charge!" The melee badai scurried forward and knelt down weapons at the ready, while the crossbow armed hunters took aim, waiting for the towering figures to fully emerge from the under growth.

The vul'nul, though not very bright, at least had the instinct to survive, waiting until the others were next to it before chasing after what they believed to be a jungle cat...

Septimus chuckled. "Well, I came here to restock on food, but perhaps i still have some food with me. not what we shared though. that was finished that same day" rumbled the Dragon as his eyes shimmered, his satchels twisting and bending a bit, his mind literally digging through it for food, a single fish, about the length of an average man's forearm, rising from the satchel and floating forward in front of Desrium. the Dragon took a light breath, a narrow stream of flame shooting forward to one side of the fish, twisting round it oddly to form a ring of flames, hot but indirect, fading after a couple of minutes as Septimus reached a hand forward, letting the fish lay on it. "You're lucky, Desrium. that was the last of my supplies"
