*Shinobu looks at UR, before sighing.*

Shinobu: Those Denizens... they're quite the nusiances... Nothing seems to hurt them, nothing can stop them for more than a few seconds... You can't just grab them and dump them into the ocean... that won't work... HOW ON EARTH ARE THE DAMN THINGS SUPPOSED TO BE DESTROYED?!

*From ontop of a nearby tree, Minene groans upon seeing the Barrier not work on the Denizens...*

Minene: Not even the barrier works on them... Out of all the demons I've dealt with in the past, these guys are the most tenacious...

*I send the little stone skipping across the water, the pebble bouncing a few times before sinking*

I don't know, but I do know that we have to figure a way out. Maybe... maybe, they can only be hurt from the inside, not the outside? *sends another pebble skipping*

*The gravemind chuckles loudly in delight, before glaring back at Gira*

Gravemind: Very well, user.

*Various flood forms in different numbers, the carriers and infection forms being the most numerous, and the tanks being the least, come out from the walls and ground, surrounding Gira within a few moments. One points towards a narrow tunnel, being controlled by the gravemind at the moment...*

I turn to Shinobu, realization on my face.

"WE can't do anything to them until DM gets rid of their main stronghold.... all we can do is hold them off! The plot device will soon end, and perhaps then, we will be able to eliminate this scourge!"

[Pyronychus]

*Sy trots out of the circle, stopping at the end of the line next to Skyhawk and turning around to watch whatever Derek had planned next.*

*Derek makes a last minute adjustment and lets the program finish adjusting chemical levels, glancing at the first compy.*

Derek: The machine's prepped and ready. You can go in pairs, or on your own... your choice.

*Tobias holds the container up to the lightly pulsing platform, Amy taking a step back.*

Beryl: What if Switchblade loses the fight?

Switch: If I can't fight him directly, maybe I can use the crests or other methods, as DM said-

Beryl: But what if he somehow incapacitates, or even destroys you?

Switch: I'd rather not think of that as an option... Focus on what you want to happen, Beryl. Don't call the fight lost before it even begins...

*The compy soon writes on the paper, "we'll go one at a time." It begins to squeak, waiting to be taken out of the container it was in. The two aero-compies hurry out of the circle...*

*Without a second thought, jumps into the tunnel...*

Shinobu: I'm starting to think the same thing, as well... Thought I'm starting to think that there's gotta be more to this Denizen episode than what we can see... Alpha-Ridley, anybody? How on earth did the Denizens get something like that? (Especially considering...)

The intended goal isn't to win the fight. All you have to do is get him under that dome. After that, Beryl can finsih him for good...

I Transform into Rodan and begin to fly up, wondering where UR went...

I'm not sure 'bout that, but I'm pretty sure DM's dealing with it anyways. Well, I'm just gonna make some expansions to this cave now.

*I pull out a pickaxe and miner's helmet, putting the white helmet fitted with a flashlight on, before beginning to dig through the rock...*

[Pyronychus]

*Beryl falls silent and Switch's head tilts.*

Switch: Still, I do hope I can do that before he finds a weakness I don't know about... I'll do my best to get him under the machine.

*Tobias tips the container on its side next to the platform to allow the compy to step out.*

Derek over the speaker: Everybody out?

Sy calls from the hangar: The ring is clear.

*Derek puts the handset back on the wall, then enables the program, a frozen countdown timer appearing onscreen, his finger poised over the red activation button.*

*I nod* Good, because I think he's starting to recover. *Alpha Ridley is struggling sluggishly to his feet, hissing furiously* Distract him, and Pyro and I will get to Jack...

*The compy hisses in joy, steps out, and leaps onto the platform, before glancing at his companions in their cases. The aero-compies look around the place a bit...*

Shinobu: (A clone? I doubt that is the case... There's technically only one Ridley on the Site other than Alpha-Ridley, and that's Meta-Ridley... I'd count in the past, before I fell into that Lake in Washington that cured me... Thankfully, no one other than DM and Gira's group know of that... There's something going on here... but I don't know what it is...) Wait for me!

*Shinobu sprouts her draconic wings, before taking off after G4E...*

Ok, but don't come back expecting this cave to look the same! Or have a structure or two in it!

*I continue to break through the rocks and dirt, making tunnels and making the cave itself quite wider and larger...*

I slow down for Shinobu, before radioing UR.

"Hello? UR? You there? Where the hell are ya?"

Uh... in the under-water cave Shinobu was JUST in. Now... crap, pickaxe broke. Looks like I'm gonna punch these rocks! *begins punching rocks after tossing the broken pickaxe away...*

"Alright. Heading there immediately."

I begin to head over there...

*Switch rises to her full height and turns to face Alpha Ridley, for the moment standing directly between the dragon and the three of us. Beryl crouches down slightly behind the machine to try to stay out of sight while he watches and waits. I get ready to leave at DM's signal and reach into my leg pocket, finding it empty, remembering that my only weapon was confiscated.*

Hope I won't need to shoot anything... Ready when you are...

*Derek's finger comes down on the red button and the computer starts to beeps as the timer counts down from ten. At eight seconds, the platform glows brighter, enveloping the compy in a shaft of light. At five seconds, the chemical tubes finish draining. At three seconds, the energy starts to swirl within the force field and the compy becomes transparent. Finally, as the timer reaches zero, the compy is seemingly zapped out of existence for a moment and the platform fades, then chemicals shower from above on the swirling energy and it quickly condenses into a compy-like form, the end product an exact copy, down to the last atom, of the 3D model rotating onscreen...*

*The Aeros tilt their heads in interest, Sy stepping forward to peer through the gap in the energy wall...*

*The two other aero-compies lie down and rest, while the newly-formed drago-compy squeaks and tilts it's head, looking around. A short-lived stream of fire comes from the creatures mouth and burns the ground nearby it a moment later, and it walks around a bit...*

*Alpha-Ridley glares at Switchblade, then opens his mouth, charging the beam* Go, now! We can get some rayguns from the Denizens if we have too! Follow me! *I race from cover, towards the elevator leading to the command booth, trying to dodge Denizen raygun blasts*
