"What can I say, I'm an energetic person, mentally as well as physically" responded Andruil with a smirk. What had been going through his mind the previous night though was less than pleasant. shreds of memories that would seem nonsensical to Arsenic, but which reminded Andruil of sprawling chapters of an unpleasant time in his life. a careful barmaid moving through the tavern silently, to the average bystander she was being wary of the men around her, some drunk, some pretending, some soldiers, some spies of the resistance. what to most would look like a barmaid worried of the advances of drunken guards, to him was a woman whose husband had been slaughtered earlier that day by those same men, a woman who, had she spoken out, would likely also have been slaughtered. children ran in the street after a large cart, bound for a distant land. to the bystander it appeared to be young lads dreaming of adventure beyond the city walls, while to him, it was a sign of desperation, orphans wanting to get away from the place where their parents had been hung publicly for cooperating with the resistance. the man pushed the memories out of his mind, sighing inwardly. that time had passed. reliving it would only bring back unnecessary pain...

For a short while Desrium struggled with the viscous substance that clung to the the wooden utensil, refusing to drop into the Maldevian jar, but slowly stretching out as a long, continuous drop that made its gradual advancement into the container. The slugs themselves were quicker than it as they crawled up along the sides of the glazed glass, trying to meet the honey being poured into their midst. Finally the glob of honey pooled up at the base of the jar and the Maldevians abandoned the sides of the jar, now heading back down to the bottom with their greatest speed. At that, Desrium put the cover back on the jar and then eyed the spoon for a short moment. "Just what is honey" He wondered. It reminded him of the jam he had back at the inn...only a lot more gooey and akin to the blue sludge the Maldevian jar was coated in. It also had a strange aroma to it, which enticed him. Desrium dipped the spoon in the leather bound jar and pulled it out, about half of it coated in rich gold. He then slipped the spoon into his mouth, taking a few moments to savor the sweet taste, his eyes flashing brightly within the satchel...

Dire Howl had seen enough of these humans from the mountains. With a great howl Dire Howl burst from the brush, snarling the dire wolf lunged forward seizing a wildling in his jaws. With a desperate cry the wildling was thrown, hurrling threw the air the wildling colidided with a tree. In moments the wildlings surrounded Dire Howl in attempted to avenge their fallen comrad...

As Andruil pushed on, he began to wonder what he would see when he finally reached the walls of the Dwarven Kingdom. between himself and them lay a mountainous trek. at least, that's what the Map implied. A fact that brought something else to mind. reaching into the satchel attached to Furax, he drew the map, unrolling it and taking another look at the route. he frowned, eyeing the map thoughtfully...

it wasn't long before the first drops of rain began to strike the Dragon's scaled body, Septimus upping his pace to get under the cover of a nearby woodland swiftly...

Barely audible muffling came from the silver dragon's satchel, occasionally interrupted by the clattering of the spoon against the sides of the honey container. His attention was suddenly pulled from the sweet taste of honey to the booming blast of thunder, the storm upon him and his companion. With a bit of the wooden spoon's handle sticking out the side of his mouth, Desrium shifted over to the side of the bag that served as a bookshelf and clambered up it, getting his footing. He then hopped, his hands grabbing the edge of the satchel which he used to haul himself up, the books remarkably offsetting his weight.

His head popped up from the giant bag, peering over the side of it, eying the stretch of gray that over took once blue, sunny skies. "Hmm. Rain" Desrium commented, the spoon handle flicking up and down when he said it. Large droplets crashed onto his helm and ran down the ridges of his eyes

Code: Select all
Today would have been very uneventful, had I not recieved an odd request late last night. I was out walking behind the castle when I was confronted by a figure. She told me, very plainly, that she wanted Jeetis dead becuase of a few issues that had happened in the past. She told me further that I should kill him in the morning, when he was out where I was standing at this time. I myself could hadly believe this. Why would this person want the Pope, Jeetis dead? Who was this person to tell me to kill Jeetis? Why, it was none other than Dione! I could scarcely believe my own eyes! I Why would Dione, daughter of the Pope himself, ask for Jeetis's death? I asked her a few questions, both to know why she wanted Jeetis dead, and if this was really Dione. She answered everything I asked with a perfect answer. It would seem that, she hated how Jeetis had abused his power as the Pope, placing numerous people under Interdict, extracting taxes from the poor, and ruining the lives of many. Also, the sound of her voice, the color of her eyes, and the way she spoke... everything pointed to her actually being Dione! There was no doubt about it now. Once she had told me everything I wished to know, she left, and I went down to my chamber, to think on how to kill Jeetis... and to write down what is here in this journal. May I slay the faulty Pope in the morning of tommorow!

The book fell straight to the ground, bouncing just once. However, it's echo seemed to reverberate all through the room. Dione stared at Trajan, tears welling up in her eyes. She couldn't believe it. She shook her head furiously, trying to make what she had just read go away.

It didn't.

"I am very sorry, Dione. But the evidence at this point is overwealmingly against you. YOU are the one responsible for orchestrating Jeetis's murder. If there was any other evidence to come up, them I might have been able to defend you... but with this being all there is..." Trajan said, his voice thin and ladden with anger. He himself didn't want to belive this. But, there was no other way to look at it.

"I must've been dazed from the fight when I plotted our path to the Dwarven Kingdom. For some reason I thought there was a village right on our path to resupply. Turns out we'll have to make a detour near the foot of the mountain if we want to resupply. We'll have to, if only for water" he said as he rolled his map up, checking the water skins that he had refilled the previous evening during his watch...

Septimus craned his neck, eyeing Desrium for a moment, noting the wooden utensil protruding from his mouth. "Desrium.....What is the spoon doing in your mouth?" he inquired, a scaley brow curved curiously...

The young elven woman's expression showed her dismay. "How much time would it cost us?" she asked. Arsenic was silent, gaze turning a stormy gray as he contemplated this.

"Well, I wasn't going to put my hands in your honey jar. I used the spoon. I like honey. Sticky though" Desrium replied, the handle of the utensil flopping about comically as he spoke, despite the ominous thunder and lighting going off overhead.

The Goblin brothers shrug as well and continue on their way, following closely behind their friend...

Sarah nods. "Let's go!"

Khorne leads the way home, smelling the air to find their cave. Locking on to a scent, the basilisk begins to slither along faster.

The guards in training head into the infirmary to rest. One of the guards, also a female, taps Kiara on the shoulder.

Septimus sighed, a clawed paw coming up to his forehead, his thumb and middle finger squeezing his temples as he tried to stifle the feeling of frustration he felt. "...How many spoonfuls of that did you have?" he growled...

"Roughly 5 or 6 hours. I've never been to that village, so I'm going off the map with that estimate" responded Andruil with a sigh...

Saurgu leaps from the cliff-hanger and flies off towards the lake, while Ikargu crouches so Sarah could get on to the ice dragon.

Shezz keeps on ahead of the others, still carrying the map, using it so they didn't go off the trail and onto the wrong one or worse.

Hraesvelgr follows Khorne, speeding up to catch up with him and stay at the same pace the two moved at.

Kiara's eyes slowly open up, the demoness turns her head to look at the guard, and simply says questioningly, "huh? What?"
"What's the plan?!" - random soldier, Mud and Blood 2.

Desrium fell silent as he thought about the subject, his eyes occasionally flaring up from the honey dripping down his throat. After a short moment of staring off into the quickening rain, the armored being dipped back into the satchel, reappearing soon after with the leather bound jar in one hand. "This much" Desrium said, his speech somewhat slurred due to salivation. The once smooth spread was now glazed about the inside of the jar like the Maldevian slime. What wasn't stirred about in the container was now sitting on the broad end of the spoon inside of Desrium's mouth...

Sarah soon climbs onto her surrogate father's back, before patting him.

"Alright, father. I'm ready to go when you are."

The Lockjaw brothers continue along, before Kubba says to Shezz.

"Longer how must we go until reach the destination we seek very much so?"

"In otha words, where da hell is tha settlement we goin' ta?" Bubba says, visibly tired.

Khorne stops, turning abruptly to his mate.

"Keep a lookout for us. I can sense that we are not alone."

He then resumes his march and continues towards their lair...

The guard smiles sheepishly at the Demoness.

"Sorry for waking you up, but this is my bed. You can sleep on the upper bunk, though."

The guard sticks out her hand, as if expecting a handshake.

"By the way, my name's Laura."

"Wonderful" responded Septimus, his tone blunt and monotonous as he headed onwards, deciding he'd stop by a nearby village sometime soon. perhaps he could find honey there...

"I agree. Honey is indeed wonderful" Desrium replied before dropping back into the satchel to put the honey jar back. He appeared once more, spoon not in his mouth but in one metal covered hand. "Too much of it is...unpleasant, however" He said before turning his gaze to the sky, his mouth wide, trying to catch the raindrops...

Hraesvelgr nodded and watched the area surrounding them whilst sniffing the air, and kept moving onwards with her mate.

Kiara gets out of the bed, shakes the guard's hand and replies, "I'm Kiara. Yeah, sorry 'bout that. Didn't really know."

Ikargu nods and slowly ascends into the air, before flying straight and downwards, heading directly for the lake, a bit behind Saurgu.

"We be there soon. Village not far," Shezz hissed in response, taking his eyes off the map for a moment to check if they were on the right road, which they were...

Khorne continued along, while the sounds of something crawling about nearby could be heard...

Laura smiles pleasantly at Kiara.

"It's not problem. Thankfully you didn't end up in any of the boy's beds, because you'd be a dead goose."

Sarah holds on tight, waiting for Ikargu to land safely...

Bubba and Kubba nod, continuing along, while Shubba lets out an exhausted groan. Lubba pats him on the back reassuringly, and they contniue on....
