the best soluton to a python problem? Wrangle the snake and relocate it yourself. So long as you have a buddy wth you ready to bnd te snake's tail back incase things get out of hand, it's good by my book..

though personally I'd very much like to own a python. only the inability to properly care for one prevents me. well, that, and the fact my mother, sister and the maids wouldn't come within 10 feet of my bedroom door if it was around. though I suppose I'd have to worry about it killing the cats...then again, perhaps I'd do better to worry about the snake than the cats...

These are Burmese pythons. They can grow up to 10+ feet long, and are constrictors, meaning if they wrap around your arm or leg, they will probably break it like a twig.

So unless you go at it with a gun (and if you do, you're an idiot), you are in REAL DANGER of being KILLED. Stop trying to be hard asses, you both know you can't do **** to a snake that size.

TT, You yourself should know that constrictors, even large 20+ foot Andacondas and Burmese Pythons rarely, if ever, break the bones of their victims. THey suffocate them to death instead. Bones are rarely broken...

...Though, I do understand your points of concern. Giant serpents like those can easilly kill a man. Unless you luckilly have a sharp knife on you at the time, or a friend who can either bend the snake's tail back to releasse you, or pour hot water on it, your doomed.

And yes, CS, you can snap broken bones back together, and they'd be as good as new... if you were Chuck Norris.

Actually, they would. Snakes eat their prey by starting with the head and working down, that way the limbs don't get in the way. No known snakes can eat an adult human this way because of our shoulders being too wide for them to stretch around. If they went from the feet up, yes, they could, but they don't do that.

Our shoulders are simply too rigid to be abl to 'Fold" enough for the snakes to swallow. Try to flex your own shoulders back and forth. Not a whole lot of range they can do.

Depends on the orientation of the human. If there shoulders were lateral, they wouldn't fit, but vertically, the snake might have a chance.

I did, that's exactly why I made the post. According to TT, they can quite easily break bones as well.

Considering this is Florida we're talking about, I'd say very poorly, because if you try to run over a snake with a hummer, there's a good chance you'll end up against a tree or in a lake.
