As the sun descended, Septimus wasted no time, landing in the village itself, much to the alarm of the villagers, guards pointing their pikes at the Dragon, though stopping when they saw Desrium on his back, at a distance thinking he was a knight. "Identify yourself!" called the Leader of the Guard. "My name is Septimus. I've come here to purchase a couple of things from your local store. After that, I'll take my leave" rumbled the Dragon. looking at eachother, the bewildered look on the Guards' faces were easy to read. they had been expecting the armoured figure on the Dragon's back to speak, not the Dragon itself. "Why should we believe you?" asked the Commander. as he said that, a large silver chalice rose from one of the Dragon's satchels, the Dragon raising one hand to catch it. "This is what I intend to pay for it with. among other things. Is it wrong for a traveller to purchase from your stores?" questioned the Dragon. "No, but-" responded the Guard, Septimus cutting him off swiftly. "Good. then there won't be a problem. Where is the store?". "Just wait a min-" started the Guard, Septimus cutting him off again. "I haven't the time to wait friend. This place is not safe. I cannot afford to stay much longer" growled the Dragon, sifting through the Guard's thoughts carefully, finding the thought related to the location of the store, before beginning to make his way towards it, the Guards at this point utterly dumbfounded. "Wait a minute! what do you mean this place isn't safe?!" called the Commander of the Guard. "Beasts. large numbers of them. They dwell the forests West of here. If I were you, I'd find somewhere safer to stay. because if they decide to come here, there will be little left of this village" responded Septimus firmly. "Animals? you're afraid of Animals? No beast in the right mind would risk coming so close" responded the Commander with a laugh, though it was swiftly silenced by an irritated snarl from the Dragon. "Do not be naive, Mickhail! You're speaking to a creature whose lived more than three times as long as yourself. Trust me when I say that this place will be destroyed if they decide to come here". by now, a few of the villagers had come to see the source of the commotion, some staring through their windows at the Dragon while others stood by the front doors to their cottages...

Desrium was expecting an outright panic, expected the guards to raise the alarm for an attack. A creature of the nether realm, riding a dragon into their village to destroy it, its armor wet with melting ice. His silence was a product of his anticipation, waiting for the inevitable spark that would cause the explosion of uproar. When no such thing happened, Desrium cocked his head, eying the guards curiously as Septimus walked past. "How fortunate" He thought, Septimus seeming to draw their attention away from him with his news. Perhaps he wouldn't have to hide in the dragon's satchels after all. That was when the clicking of unlatched locks and the creaking of opening doors reached his ears. Looking around at the various houses, Desrium's scarlet gaze met those of the curious bystanders stepping out to look at the scene, and the feeling of impending uproar returned...

"...it's...it's a demon! the Dragon's carrying a demon!" called one of the villagers, running for his house, as yelps and screams of panic broke out, the Guards on full alert, pointing their pikes at the Dragon, noting the red glow in the helmet's eye sockets, which they had missed earlier. "I need only a couple of things from your store. after that, I'll leave you all in peace" growled Septimus over the panic. "Forget it! you come in here with a demon, demanding access to our store and ranting about monsters coming to kill us, and you expect us to help? you can-" started the Commander as another voice called out over the racket. "Silence!" called an ageing man as he approached, catching the Guards' attention. "Last I saw, Commander, you didn't have the authority to say who could and could not purchase my wares. that is MY decision, not yours. If letting him buy what he wants will end this conflict, why in god's name should we deny him that opportunity?!" said the elder firmly. he was a muscular man, though fattening up in recent years. grey hair fell to his shoulders, a grey and white streaked beard growing down to his chest. "Myridas, you stay out of this or you'll get yourself killed" warned the Commander. "By who? you? Need I remind you that my business is the reason this village exists out here? Were it not for my trading caravan turning this place into a regular stop 30 years ago, you would not have a village to guard! Now, stand down at once or I shall see to it that you're stripped of your rank by the Council!" responded the old man, before turning to Septimus, the Dragon nodding gratefully. there was more than just experience of age in the man's eyes. there was more to him than that. "Come, friends. I shall show you what I have to offer" stated Myridas calmly as he led him further into the village, the panicked cries reduced to hushed murmurs of fear and concern, the Guards left standing, defeated. despite the Commander wanting to kill or scare off the Dragon, he could not go against Myridas' will. he was, afterall, the founder of the village...

"I am not a demon" Desrium thought bitterly as he passed the crowd, their outburst being painfully predictable and misplaced. They are filled with fear when they lay eyes on him, yet they had no idea what he was capable of. They would probably faint where they stood should he ever draw his blade, even the most grizzled of the guardsmen! Yes, their fear of him would surely disappear if the pale skinned beasts ever found their way here. In such a case he would put his skill with his sword to work in the defense of the people, even if they scorn and detest him. He knew he was capable of good, and evidently so did Septimus, the unicorns, Vierna and Syria. Given the chance, he would show everyone he meant no harm.

The guards looked around, noticing that the torches had gone out. They drew their swords, expecting trouble. The one a bit away from the others also drew his shield, readying himself for whatever could happen...

Meanwhile, a bit away from the walls surrounding Tristan, Thems was sound asleep. The giant orochi had curled herself up, creating an inpenetrable wall of scales protecting her head. Her tail swished back and forth outside the coils, the 8-headed serpent unaware of what dangers lurked around...

After a short moment of silence, Kiara responded, "I saw nothing, but I heard something." Moments later, a low growl could be heard...

"Indeed. Keep on your guard though. There's no guarantee they haven't found us already. Aviva, I suggest you fly above us. It'd put you in a position to better defend yourself if they attack" said Andruil as he began to lead Furax forward, the stallion snorting as he followed. Shiryaz had taken to the air, falling silent but wary, still watching the source of the noise as he shot through the trees, weaving in and out of the branches...

Arashi meanwhile, chuckled at the reactions shown by the kitsune. "They try and make themselves out to be powerful, then run like utter cowards. It amuses me to no end" rumbled the Dragon, Gilgamesh grunting. it was a wise move on the kitsune's part, regardless of what it had done to it's ego and image. had it stayed, the Kitsune would likely have joined Gilgamesh as one of Arashi's prisoners. now that things had settled, Arashi began hunting down the source of the blood. the mana patterns were gone, thanks to the kitsune's interruption, a fact that irritated him to no small extent. but it didn't matter. He could afford to let Septimus roam a while longer. While Septimus' mana print had been significantly more powerful than it had been when he was exiled, it was still shy of what was needed...

as the Elder reached the entrance to his store, he turned to face the Dragon. "What was it you wanted?" he asked. "Well...If you have a couple of jars of honey, that'd be excellent. I need them to feed a few rare slugs I keep, and honey's the best form of food for them" responded Septimus, the Elder chuckling. "Maldevians, hm?" he asked, Septimus staring at him, surprised. "Yes, actually. How did you know?" he asked. "I keep a few myself. incredible creatures" responded the Elder a he unlocked the door to the shop, walking inside and lighting a small lantern on the counter, before walking around it and reaching for a few jars of honey sitting on a shelf, bringing up two of them. "So tell me...what are these monsters you were speaking of to the Guards?" he called from inside. "Creatures that hide in the shadows. they move in groups. massive groups. easily over a hundred at a time. All I could sense when I tried to read their minds was this incredible sense of hunger.....Like they were perpetually starved and looking for food. they were fast, and dangerous, and I believe they moved in the dark" responded Septimus, shuddering as the thought was brought up again. "I see....And you're worried they'll reach us here?" asked Myridas curiously. "I'm almost sure they will come here. and soon. It's at best a 2 hour walk, and those creatures move fast" growled Septimus grimly. "Then I suppose it'd be foolish to wait around. I'll speak to the elders as soon as we're done" said the Elder, walking out with two jars of honey, holding them up to the Dragon. "Take them. Consider them a thank you for the early warning" said Myridas, Septimus eyeing him in surprise. nodding with a grateful smile, the Dragon's eyes glowed, the jars floating from the Elder's grip and entering the satchels. "Thank you for your kindness, Myridas. I appreciate it. Please do your best to get away from this place...I would hate to find fate had taken another kind-hearted person from the world" he growled, the Elder chuckling. "Eh. If it is my time, I will not fight against it. I've lived a long life, and have seen much of what Aster has to offer. But if My time has not yet come....Even the legions of Hell themselves will not be able to force it" said the man. "Now. Hurry onwards. I'll not see my gift be wasted by an impromptu attack. May we meet again in the future, Dragon. Until then, good luck" he finished, Septimus nodding as he looked over his shoulder at Desrium. "Let's get out of here" he growled, spreading his wings, the beautiful patterns on the underside of his wings lighting the ground beneath him, as he beat them powerfully, kicking up a cloud of dust as he shot upwards into the air, the distance between him and the village growing with each beat of the massive wings...

The Disciple, having left the fight behind him, was just about to reach the inn as a searing pain tore through his left arm. Danger approaches you, Kristov. Your work in Germania must cease. leave immediately and return. Do not wait for dawn. Your survival cannot be assured till then murmured a voice in the man's head, Kristov wasting no time, rushing into the inn and entering his room, speaking to no one as he did so, swiftly gathering his equipment, before turning to leave...His Mentor and Master awaited him...

Desrium only bowed his heard forward in response to the dragon's statement, knowing that his attempts to speak would be blown away by Septimus' strong wings. The dust carried by the wing gusts obscured him momentarily until the Hueilin raised himself up into the sky. Speaking over the thumping of the silver drake's wings, the armored being said simply "What a pleasant old man"

Nitsunobue had begun to grow curious with these beings, despite knowing fully well they probably would attack him on sight. The horned tyrant decides to follow them by smell and hearing, since showing himself would lead only to an attack...

The robed being continues on his way, shadowreavers and various other beasts following him, but strangely, not attacking...

Laura looks back and forth, staying highly paranoid as the night grew stronger...

Aviva dipped her head to the lizard-man. "I am happy to help however I can." then she, too took to the skies, making a wide banking turn above the party and keeping an eye out for whatever had roared. Her claws were sharp, her venom at the ready. Let who or whatever may come after them expect a violent and painful end.

Zar was on his way back, having seem the sun begin to set and spotted a clearing with a small but deep forest pool set towards the edge of the open space. There was enough room for everyone to rest comfortably without getting their feet wet, too.

Arsenic gave his legs a quick stretch before falling in beside Andruil and Vix. Hopefully they wouldnt have to press on too far in the dark.

Unbeknownst to the group, Zazikel's new agent was closing in rapidly, relying on the surrounding forest and darkness to hide his steady approach. The Hellhound's skeletal jaws dripped with disgusting saliva that, as it hit the ground, caused the very plant life around it to recoil away. The Demon was ignorant to this, however, his entire being focused on hunting down and slaying those he was commanded to destroy...

The army kept on marching towards Draxon, having startsed moving out a little after the sun was half-way down. They were close, the first line close to passing the netural village already, where both Laura and Kiara were heading to. Unbeknownst to anyone, however, everything in town was already dead and occupied by a night-dwelling, life draining force.

Kiara moved slightly faster as a howl could be heard, followed by more, which were distant compared to the one that seemed right next to the two. The assassin looked left and right and stopped in her tracks as she saw a pair of yellow eyes with slit pupils looking directly at her and her companion. She took aim and fired, but missed...

"Yes. His kind are a dying breed, unfortunately. Not many these days will willingly help a stranger, much less call off a garrison of guards" rumbled Septimus somewhat gloomily. He hadn't even been out here for that long, and he could already see things changing. and not for the better. deciding to change the subject to something more immediate, he sighed. "Now, remember Desrium that the honey that we have now is to last a while. don't go finishing it in one go. I got two jars, one for you and one for the Maldevians. you're not allowed to touch the second" he growled as he levelled out a few hundred feet up, flying South East, heading for the coast. they were still quite a way off yet. he expected they'd be going for much of the night, and some of the day, before they arrived...

The disciple drew a small black flask from his satchel, twisting the top of it open and drawing some black dust, a rancid scent coming from within, smelling somewhere between the scent of rotting flesh and alcohol. casting it at the wall, a flash of red light engulfed the room as the very wall started to contort and twist, the man walking through it and kicking off the newly formed edge beneath his feet, hitting the wall opposite him, rebounding back onto a lower point on the inn wall before landing on the ground in the alleyway, a snort coming from a black horse awaiting him, the man leaping onto the stallion and charging out of the alleyway awaiting his Master and Mentor's commands...

the remains of whatever had bled there were nearly non existent. Arashi swept a clawed hand along the ground over the spot, as globs of blackish red liquid seemed to stretch out of the ground, despite it having seemed to be dry when he arrived, the Dragon closing a glowing white palm around the liquid as he closed his eyes, growling lowly. "Interesting" rumbled the Dragon, before turning away from the spot, clearing himself of the trees as he spread his wings, leaping into the air, his legs having little trouble in catapulting the Dragon a couple dozen feet into the air, as his wings beat powerfully, the Dragon ascending as his serpentine body swerved through the air, the Stormweaver having learned all he could from this place, deciding to continue his path. for now, he would be unable to find his son....though there would be time for that soon....that much, he was sure of...

"Too much of one thing is not good" Desrium said, repeating what Septimus had told him hours prior. While he enjoyed honey and was glad that Septimus had more, he didn't intend to have some anytime soon. If anything, he was beginning to hunger for an actual meal, not a snack. "Like I said before" Desrium added, going back to what Septimus first said, "It puzzles me as to how I managed to meet two of such souls when I was by myself and one more as your travel companion"
