Isn't it weird how something so small can grow to be quite large? life always astounds me.... and the fact that all baby animals (except for insects; baby insects are arguably uglier than the adults) are cute, despite very few carrying the cuteness into adulthood.

Yeah, young insects are pretty ugly; except for some caterpillars. I dunno why, but I find them cute. XD

I think I read this somewhere,there are a few reasons,the animals look more helpless or innocent.It also has to do with disproportion in baby animals,big eyes and such which make them seem more innocent and something we should nurture and care for

I remember when my corn snake was a baby. She was a ***** to hold, too small to hold securely and too thin to keep her from slipping through one's fingers.

Not sure, I haven't really tried to measure her. I'd say 4 or 5 feet at least. But corn snakes are not very thick, so she's not large by any means.
The ball python is the opposite. Only like 2-3 feet but 10 times thicker then the corn snake.
