Nidhogg soon straightens out, roughly forty above the ground now, as the dinosaurs below became slightly more visible. Soon, the stretch of land is upon them, and Nidhogg begins his slow descent....

Dawn Loosend her grip and looked up as her father's decent became much slower and more gradual. Curious, the young Ornithochirus chirpped in a slightly alarmed tone, "Am I supposed to take off, by myself, from the ground?", leaving an emphasis on her last two words.

"Yes," Nidhogg cawed in reply as he thumped to the floor. "If you ever get grounded, or you need to fly up (like after hunting), you will need to be able to lift yourself off. For now, you just need to try as hard as you can to build up your strength, but eventually you will need to be able to fly on your own." He soon lowered his form to allow his child to climb off.

"Are you sure I can... do this?" Chirped back the young Ornitho, obviously very hesitant as she touched the ground with on of her back legs, treating it as if it was hot magma, she suddenly pulled her body back ontop of Nidhogg. Mustering up her courage, she lept off her father and landed on the ground. "This Isn't so bad!", she chirped to her father.

Nidhogg chirped, "It only seems scary because of the dinosaurs nearby. Now, what I want you to do is raise yourself up as high as you can," Nidhogg says whilst doing so, "Spread out your wings-" Nidhogg spreads out his wings, "- and flap as HARD as you can!" Nidhogg kicks up some dust as he flaps is wings and is soon off of the ground. he descends again and thumps to the ground. "You got me?"

Dawn sits and listens closely to her father, paying close attention as he took off into the air. Dawn looked up at her father and chirped, "I think I've got it, doesn't look that ard, I'll give it a try." And with that the young Ornitho prepared herself for her first attempt. Dawn opened her wings, jumped as high into the air as she could, and started flapping madly, both wings at different times, the exact opposite of what her father had just done. Within seconds Dawn smashed back into the gorund, sending a small cloud of dust up into the air. Determind to get it right, the young Reptile got back up and, knocked the dust of herself, and prepared herself for another attempt.

Erosion slowed down at the sight of a disturbance in the plains. There was a large winged Ornithochirus doing... something. Directly infront of the larger one, was a much younger Ornitho. It seemed to be haveing difficutlies flying. It would be and easy meal for Erosion. Laying low down to the grass, she began a slow crouch-walk towards the pair. All she had to do was distract the adult....

Nidhogg cackled at Dawn. "You've got the right idea, but you're a bit off on the timing. Try to move them together, like this."

The adult Ornithocheirus stands up and moves his wings up and down in unison before resuming his stance. "Try that- just stand, and try to mvoe your wigns up and down in unison."

Dawn stood straight, and spread her wings. She looked back and forth at both of them, as if looking to find something new. The small Ornitho took a deep breath and flapped both of her wings at the same time. She instantly felt herself get lifted up slightly. Now jubliant, the youngling happily schreeched into the air and naipped at her fath'ers much alrger wings. "I did it right that time!" chirped the young reptile.

This was an interesting sight for Erosoion. The larger winged reptile appeared to be teaching its offsrping to fly. This would be an easy kill. The female Dilophosaur picked up her pace, her crest sticking above the tall grass.

"Good, good!" Nidhogg screeches cheerfully. "Let's try that again, and flap harder so you can get even higher off of the ground!" Despite himself, Nidhogg felt nervous. Even far away form the larger predators, there were still small ones he had to worry about. He prayed that something didn't come out of the shrubbery and take the only thing left in his life away from him....

With her fathers encouragement, Dawn jumped into the air again, and began flapping. This time her wings where in perfect sync. Once she had gotten about 30 feet off the ground she let out a joyous screech, "I'm actually doing it!" Dawn was so happy to have gotten off the ground by herself, but now what? She looked quizically at her father as she slowly continued risieng.

Erosion had missed her chance. Maybe, just maybe if she attacked now she could hit the young Ornitho with some blinding spit. Not wanting to loose another meal, Erosion stood erect, flared her frill, and bellowed out at the reptiles.

Nidhogg's eyes grew large with fear as the Dilophosaur burst from the shade. The pterosaur spread his wings wide, flapping them and kicking up a cloud of dust to disorient the attacking dinosaur, as he himself flew up after his daughter.

"Don't stop flying! Don't stop! I've almost got you!"

Erosion snorted and snapped her head around as large clouds of dust hit her directly in the face. Now angered, the Diloposaur again spread her frill, her bloodshot eyes stareing up at the younger Ornitho as she hurled deadly spit up at it, but the creature was far out of range.

Dawn looked below and saw what was happening. She began to panic, flapping her wings even faster. Listening to her father, she continued to propel her small body higher into the air. This wasn't exactly a very good day for the young Ornitho.

Eradicus had already, just slightly drifted off to sleep, but shook his head and snapped out of it. He watched a bird fly in circles above him, and wanted to snap at it like he had attacked dragonflies as a baby.

Lightning looked at his mate, sighed, and started to wonder where their missing pack member was. He hoped she wasn't dead, because she, like her mate, had hatchlings to look over.

Velkiar, still being eyed by the stealthy sentry, ate happily and peacefully in the shade of the trees, still just watching out for predators. He thought to himself out loud, "maybe tomorrow... tomorrow I'll steal from the raptors if they catch anything decent."

Valu continued her descent before leaping from a particularly low branch, recovered quickly, and looked around. She was in another raptor's territory, yet she couldn't pick up the scent of the raptor itself. She looked around cautiously, and went into the thick bushes to hide...

Moving as fast as he could, knowing fully well Dawn's wings were not strong enough to keep her aloft for much longer, Nidhogg approaches beneath his daughter, beign withni her claw grasp.

"Grab on! Quickly!"

Gothmog grunted. "Hey, Eradicus- you hungry?"

Dawn suddenly sotpped flapping her wings, even if she wanted to, she couldn't have flown for much longer, she wasn't exactly very strong yet. Knowing the urgency of the situation, the small Ornitho grabbed tightly onto her fathers back once again, and pressed her small head against his warm body.

Oblivion snorted into the air as a large mosquito landed on her face. "Bloody insects," muttered the female. She looked over at Eradicus, watching his odd behavior.

Felkae flew over top the mountains towards his home, which was on the cliff-face of one of the taller mountains in the west. He soon landed after circling it a few times, and looked around. He dropped the fish he carried in his mouth and went to eating it moments afterwards.

Eradicus quickly responded, still looking at the bird, "uh, no, not yet, I'm fine."

Valu sat perfectly still in the brush, nearly impossible to see in the thick branches and leaves in the bushes from a distance. Up close, however, she'd be quite easy to find.

Velkiar, soon finished eating, laid down to rest. The sentry was no where in sight now. It had already gone and alerted the pack, which had been eating from the kill...

Gothmgo cocked his head, confused. "Are you sure?" he growled. "You DID jsut get cheated out of food by a rex. I'd think you'd be starving...." A couple dragonflies whizz by Gothmog's face, but they do little more than to startle him.

Nidhogg soon shrieked, "Hang on!" before he flapped his wiings with great power and began to speed up....

Dawn held on as tight as she could with her small body. Her father began to accelerate rapidly. "Where are wegoing now!" Screeched the youngling, obviously still scared from the Dilophosaur's sudden appearance.

Darkwing screeched to the male Pteranadon once he was in sight. She noticed ho also had a fresh meal of fish. Tired from her long hunting journey, she slowed as she approached her nest.

Oblivion lowered herself onto the floor of the cave, and wiggled around a bit to find a more comfortable spot. Satisfied that she had found the best postion to lay in, she closed her eyes, though she was not yet asleep, she seemed much like it. She lifted her head a few moments later and looked at Gothmog. She let out a loud yawn-like noise and opened her eyes. "Do you two have any meat lying around here?" she growled in a freidnly tone.

Sawtooth continued to comb the beach looking for something to eat. With any luck he'd find something bigger than a measly sea turtle.Being a solitary animal could get very lonely,he envied the theropods and how social they could be to eachother, but very xenophobic of anything they'd never seen before....

"Not exactly," Eradicus replied to Oblivion, continuing, "a rex attacked and took my more recent kill." To Gothmog, he said, "I guess I'll just have something small."

Felkae looked down from his perch at Darkwing, and screeched back in response.

The raptors looked at the sentry, nodded, and went back to eating. They'd be prepared for tomorrow, but today they'd look for Valu after eating. They'd leave some, sentries and others, to stay and guard the thirteen hatchlings...
