Arsenic tensed. There was that presence again. Reflexively he strengthened the mental shields around them, just in case, and nudged each of his companions telepathically, warning them. They needed to be careful...very careful...

Nitsunobue's presence was felt beneath them still, before he headed a bit farther down the road from the rest of the group. Bursts of sand could be seen, as his horns soon poked out of the earth and seemed to keep rising out....

The fear. Sammael could practically SMELL it. They knew he was nearby, sure, but that was it. No idea of his specific location, or even what he was. That lack of knowledge would have given him a distinct advantage had he not spotted the puffs of sand and horns of the burrowing wyvern. In a one-on-one fight against any other member of that group, the Hellhound might have stood a chance. But he only had one weapon to use against Nitsunobue, and he would have preferred to save it for a more convenient time. However, if his claws had been forced, then so be it...

Tetto'eko could feel the unnatural presence of Zazikel's agent as well, used to the feeling of Demonic energies around him. He had dealt with it on many hundreds of occasions throughout his unnaturally long life. He was more focused on preparing an attack for when the creature finally struck. Few Demons were a match for concentrated blasts of magical energies...

Two black dots stood out among a dark blue and white backdrop. They reflected the crimson light shining from Desrium's eyes as he made his way forward with a wading stride. All at once, the sand sifted before exploding into a large cloud, the two dots disappearing into it. Desrium drifted to a stop a few yards away, peering into the murky cloak that had risen in front of him. It parted when a creature ventured forth, its dark blue and white shell having a silver edge. Its exposed underbelly was a white-tan in color and the tips of its four widely spaced legs were jet black, as were the tips of the pincers at the end of its arms.

The creature was a crab-like entity, almost as tall as the the armored being. Its legs were long and slender, the ends slightly buried into the ground and acting as anchors. Its shell was akin to that of a conch, spiraling into a long cone shape that pointed off to the animal's right side. Its face was flat, two beady black eyes staring at the armored entity just ahead of it. Several feelers that looked like barbed whiskers writhed on either side of its head. Suddenly, the shelled creature spread its arms wide apart and displayed its menacing pincers. They were scythe shaped and split down the middle, recurved claws meant to stab into prey as much they were meant to grasp. Desrium reached for his blade, finding that the action took much longer than he would have liked. The speed he was used to was completely absent beneath the ocean. His blade was drawn with a muffled scraping and his hands secured around its hilt...

'Thank you." Mara responded before she and Akuro turned to face away from Burzum.

"Mind telling me what this whole interruption is about, Mara?" Akuro hissed silently at his apprentice. "Whatever reason you're here for can't be good."

"Mara nodded, before she quietly replied, "Tristan was just attacked. Numerous shadow creatures ravaged a portion of the city, and killed off most of the guads stationed there. They were rather odd looking beings, with blade-like heads... and twin tails..."

'How intresting...." Akuro hissed under his breath. Based on her description, he himself had seen these creatures once or twice, but only recently. From what he knew, they seemed to shun daylight. Why would they attack a city like Tristan? But the why didn't matter to him. His plan for Tristan wasn't going to be outdone by some light-sensitive freaks. If anything, it made Burzum's offer all the better. Once he took over the city, he could use his nwly-gained forces to keep them away from the city... "Do not worry. I already have an idea..."

The wolf-like Kisune turnd back to face Burzum, Mara standing back...

The multi-headed hybrid landed heavily on the sand, looking in all directions for any sign of the dragon. He knew what his senses were telling him, but he found it highly unlikely: The dragon disappeared beneath the waves. The idea of swimming was not very appealing to him, as he had never done so before. Having the blood of an aquatic species of dragon running through his veins made him able to swim, but the blood of other, heat-loving, water-shunning species made it an activity he rarely participated in. Although the dragon was deep under water by now, he could tell it wasn't moving very far from the shore. Assuming it would need to come out at one point or another, Chromatus decided to wait...

The crab charged forward with exceptional speed, its grip on the ocean floor aiding it greatly. It swung a claw about, the pincer almost parallel to the sandy floor and sailing through the water quickly. Desrium kicked off of the ocean floor, sending silt drifting at his attacker while he floated back a foot or so, the crab's attack missing him. It then swung the other claw around, but Desrium twisted his sword in his grip so that its jagged edge was facing off to the side. He then twirled the blade downwards, the lower resistance from the water allowing Desrium to reposition it much quickly. Holding the blade at a diagonal in the claw's path blocked it, its contact being a dull thunk in the deep. Desrium twisted his sword around once more before engaging in an upward swing, the weapon slicing through the water as easily as it cut the creature's soft underbelly before hitting against its hard carapace. The shelled assailant let out a pained gurgling noise as it clamped its pincer onto the armored being's sword, trying to yank it out of his metal grasp...

"Well? Have you made your decision?"

Burzum says, slouching upon his throne. The morgul stalkers could be seen shuffling about in the shadows of the throne room, before they came into view an awaited their master's call.

The tug of war between the two combatants lasted for several moments while violet blood flowed into the water from the crab's wound. It wasn't as deep as it seemed, the force of Desrium's swing dampened by the surrounding ocean. The struggle continued on without signs of either side overtaking the other, so Desrium gave up on reclaiming his sword. Instead, he forced it at the crab, which inadvertently pulled the blade towards it, the tip plunging deeply into its lower body once again. The pain made it release the sword as it let out another gurgling cry and stumbled back. Not wanting to be dragged off balance, Desrium pulled his blade out, a stream of blood trailing after the end of the sword. The stab left a grievous wound, the jagged edge tearing through the crab's body as it was removed, taking bits of flesh with it...

Septimus could see what looked like a struggle up ahead, though there was too much sand and silt being kicked up for him to see what it was exactly, the Dragon deciding to rush before something happened, though he somehow felt that whatever ended up happening would be worse for whatever was fighting Desrium, then for the metallic being itself...

"One would think you're supposed to be scared of something like this. I'm honestly just annoyed it's wasting our time" said Andruil as he walked forwards, the trees rapidly thinning. If it didn't make it's move soon, It would have to come out into the open to attack them, ruining any hope of an ambush; a fact that further asserted to him that it was about to strike. It was obvious whatever it was was close by. he could feel it. As could most of the others with him. So now...They simply had to be ready for the confrontation...

Nitsunobue's body soon pushed itself to the surface, the giant shaking dirt off of his form. He sniffed the air, but, unfortunately, was unable to locate his target, due to his recent surfacing. He would have to simply guard the sides. The wyvern glanced about, searching for the threat as he let the other pass by....

As soon as the group passed by Nitsunobue, effectively putting him at the rear of the pack, a long, snakelike tongue whipped out of the trees above the wyvern, its pointed tip splitting into several petals, with a razor-sharp blade-like tip inside. The attack was lightning fast: the tongue slammed into Nitsunobue's flank point-first, piercing even his thick scales with ease. The tongue began to pulse as soon as it made contact, rapidly inserting several objects into the wyvern's hide...

The blue shelled creature repositioned its feet once the initial shock of the stab wore off, the amount of blood being lost sending it into a sort of desperation. Desrium was charging towards it awkwardly, his run being more like a series of hops with every step he took. The creature rammed its hard carapace into the armored being, creating a dull thunk and sending Desrium drifting backwards. He grabbed onto the crab's pincer, holding the scissor-like claw shut while yanking it down as he fell. He then sent his blade up and into it, the jagged edge slicing through its joint and severing the limb at its elbow. The crab let out a terrible garbled screech of pain, raising its front two legs and trying to impale Desrium with them. The blows simply glanced off of his own metal shell and with that, the injured creature sped off into the darkness, its trail of blood lingering in the water. Desrium released the pincer and then sheathed his blade, trying to right himself soon after. He rolled onto his front side then pushed up from the silt covered floor, attempting to swing his legs under him so that he would land upright...

Almost as fast as the attack itself, a glint of silver flashed and an adata was embedded deep into the flesh. The weapon was coated in Aviva's venom, which would begin to act as soon as it made contact with the bloodstream. For good measure, Arsenic threw two more after the first, getting in his blows while he could. Another was being twirled between his fingers, ready for use.

There was a fierce howl, and the tongue detached itself, leaving the strange objects it had injected buried deep in Nitsunobue's flesh. The tongue retracted as quickly as it had appeared, taking Arsenic's embedded weapons with it...

A furious Sammael angrily tore the blades from his tongue, letting them fall away, the element of surprise gone for now. The wounds in his tongue were already closing rapidly, the venom of the blades doing little to slow the Demon down. With a furious roar, the Hellhound leaped from the trees, using Nitsunobue's back as a springboard to cushion his fall, as well as bounce over to the other side of the path, spinning around midstride, ready to take the group head-on...

Nitsunobue screeched aloud in pain, turning to the hellhound and began to pursue, his fury and adrenaline letting him chase the far smaller demon, quickly catching up with it and attempting to stab it with his tusks...

Sammael nimbly leaped into the air, using the wyvern's horned head as a springboard yet again to leap towards Arsenic, the elf being the closest target, the Hellhound's fierce jaws open wide...

"Burzum..." Akuro began, his voice serious and righ tto the point. "I gladly accept your offer to take over the throne for you. I promise to not abuse this power in anyway, but to rule true and wisely." As he said this, his single eye looked to the side, spotting the stalkers. Both he and Mara kept a careful eye on them. While this offer was indeed very good, that was just it. It sounded... TOO good to be true. If it was a trap, as Akuro suspected...

As the beast lunged, Andruil leapt forward into a roll past Arsenic's feet, springing upwards as his blade ripping into the beast's flank at an angle as Andruil's weight slammed into it's flank, knocking it off course, the blade slicing past one side and glancing past the beast's upper leg, the razor sharp blade severing the most external of the muscular hind leg's muscles from their bone tethers, guaranteeing a crippled landing regardless of it's recovery, the man spinning around to face the beast's inevitable landing position...

A black and silver blur streaked past the retreating crab, two cyan orbs lighting up before it just as a pair of glowing cyan jaws widened, clamping shut on the crab's shell as the Dragon's clawed arms grabbed the limbs it used as weapons tightly, crushing them in his grip as he drifted back towards Desrium as he took a large bite out of the shell, the crunching of the creature's carapace audible even in the muffled water, Septimus slowing as he moved in a semi circle around the drifting Desrium, the Dragon glancing over him for damage, a cloud of blackish blood floating in his wake from the crab's corpse...

Finally able to get his feet on the ground, Desrium stood tall in the dark blue gloom. A portion of the black cloud was lit up by the crimson glow from his eyes, revealing its purple coloration. The cloud was then scattered upon another of the dragon's passes. The armored being followed Septimus with his gaze, twisting himself around as the Hueilin circled...
