I use GS and LS for everything. I'm too specialized to use anything else effectively.

@ HF: How did crocs survive? They're water bound, but they didn't all die out... it perplexes me, because they're very finicky animals compared to, say, a garden lizard or snake.

My best guess based on what I learned? They became primarily aquatic animals, surviving on fish, not really coming out of the water unless necessary (for breeding and such), until life began to reestablish itself.

Got to the episode where Rhinox became a Predacon for a day... now THAT...was awsome... just stopped watching after that, though I'll pick back up on it later on...

I mainly use the lance and hammer... Tried the Gunlance... didn't like it... Same with the Dual Swords...

Hammers are hard for me. I like speed or at least being able to block.

I try to be a "jack of all trades" sort, because different weapon types make different things easier.

Such as Lances making Plesioth/leviathans in the 3rd gen games a joke, hammers being the bane of all raths (except in portable 3rd), longswords useful for drome types (due to their speed).

My main weapons tend to be LS, Bow and Bowgun, in that order. I've got enough experience with an LS to be able to use holes in strike patterns as a way of dodging. I've had enough time hunting Plessy that I know how to dodge the hipchecks at least 75% of the time. toss in some environmental exploits and that can save you alot of trouble.

I've taken down everything from Kut Kus to Gravs [I actually hunt Gravs frequently with it] with a bow. All you need is to make full use of coatings and the elements of the bow. make sure you're using a monster's weakness against it. otherwise hunts will take a while, and you may fail.

As for bowguns, I used to use it for big creatures. things like Lao, the Fatalis 'brothers' [those were my primary targets when using the bowgun].

I have yet to play MHP3rd to know what weapons I'll be using most, but I do know I'll be using the LS just as much as I always have...

I'm addcited to MHFU right now... I 've been playing it non-stop all day yesterday...

Just beat Blagonla or whatever the ice monkey's name is, and I think it's safe to say that while he himself isn't really THAT hard (Slow down so I can break your fangs, you stupid monkey!), breaking the fangs is rather hard. The only fire element weapon I have is the Kut Kut bow, and I used it on him once. Didn't break the fangs... This is going to be fun farming him for wiskers and fangs needed...

I just love fighting Blagonla,far from the toughest but in my opinion the most fun to fight

Jeez I must be a die hard fan or something I can watch all three Seasons in a day without stopping but anyway are you having trouble finding the episodes? Cause I know a guy on Youtube who has all the episodes on a playlist with no interruptions

Started listening to audio books on youtube,especially into World War Z,they just finished filming for the movie in Glasgow not far from me you know(of course they'res a lot more to them movie but that's the scenes in Scotland done anyway)

You know what? I think the school teacher in MHFU is a complete sadist. Why? BECAUSE HIS FREAKING "Sepcial Training" Plesioth COURSE IS COMPLETE HELL!

I've tried it 10 or more times now, and I STILL can't kill the damn thing. Normal Plesioth and Green Plesioth, I killed on my first take, but this jerk... GAH! The closest time I got to killnig it, It was almost dead( The fin was down.). I chased it into area 4... and got killed by a Velociprey that leapt at me mfrom nowhere. GAAAAAAAAAH! DAMN YOU, SCHOOL TeACHER!!!

The training teacher's an ***. Get some experience with harder creatures and go back later to make life easier.

A good early game fire weapon is the Red Saber. If you have someone to play with, farm rathalos for a while to get fire wyvern marrow.

You can also potentially farm Kut-Ku to make Twin kut ku which has fire element (however, it has yellow sharpness and is pathetically weak).

FINALLY beat that Plesioth... Sheesh... Took me long enough to get a good run... Normal plesioth's a pansey compared to that jerk...

And now, to farm Blagonga for his tusks and wiskers!
