"Uh...I guess so," Steeltalon growled, still a bit bewildered. "Um. I don't know where he is, but I can describe him and a few of his pack to you. They...stand out." She paused, turning her head, accidentally letting the light catch the short black quills that ran down the back of her neck. "They're all mutants. Riptide - their leader - he's black, with blue stripes and spots. Ice-blue eyes. His second-in-command, Vertigo, is gray with darker spots. His mate, Amberclaw, she's white with weird golden claws. They have three sons...Raven, Whiptail, and Ebony. I don't know what they look like, except for Raven. He's dark gray, with golden stripes on his head and neck. if you find one of them, you find the whole pack, I guarantee it."
Xanthe took note of the sun's position, and the fact that most of the pack was awake, and stood. "My brothers and sisters," he rumbled, gaining their attention immediately. "I have good news. The young hunters that were sent out yesterday were successful - they've managed to bring down a sauropod." Murmurs of surprise and delight broke out, the parents of those sent out unable to contain their pride. "When you all are ready, we will go to meet them. Some of you will have to stay behind, to guard the nests and the youngsters; but there is plenty for all, and I will be sure to send some of those who come with me back to take your places once they've eaten their fill." He turned to Savarna, who was watching Alira and Cirrus with a mother's protective fondness. He leaned down to nuzzle her gently. "Don't let those two wear you out my dear," he growled, chuckling as she gave a small good-natured huff. "I'm not old yet, Xanthe," she replied. "I can handle them while you're gone." Cirrus, sensing his father was leaving, stood to his full height and gave a raspy, open-mouthed growl, showing his tiny teeth. "Take care of your sister, little fighter," Xanthe growled, amused. He turned to Aurora next. "Will you be joining us?" he asked her, keeping in mind that she, too, had a young son.
