Sharavuras nods. "Burzum has heard... rumors.... that an Archdemon has awoken here in Aster. He fears greatly of this beast discovering the cult's plans. If he discovers us.... all of my and your master's ambitions will be crushed under his banner."

The Masked man turns to his stalkers, gesturing for them to circle above Akuro and search for the source of both fog and the scent, the Fell Beasts smelling it as well. Bardhvadok begins to stir, taking in a large whiff of air, his claws sinking lightly into Akuro's fur....

"An archdemon here? " Mara asked, not having known this. She hadn't heard of any reports of an Archdemon here in Aster recently... If anyone were to know, it would be Akuro, and he hadn't told her anything about this...

As Akuro tried to lock onto the voice, he could feel Bardhvadok beginning to awaken. Just my luck... time to go to sleep, boy. The kitsune smirked as he sent electricity once again coursing into the dragon's body, enough electricity to keep him knocked out for a while.

" Oh, are you trying to keep the dragon asleep? It's would be much more entertaining if Bardhvadok here were awake..." The voice once again rang out, this time from straight infront of the group. As the fog thickened, an outline began to appear out of it,and it was slowly waking toward them...

Sharavuras replies, "Unfortunately.Thankfully, the stalkers have not seen nor sensed the beast for some time, so perhaps he is inactive right now. Nonetheless, we must be as descrete as possible from now on."

The four stalkers and the masked man land on all fronts of Akuro, attempting to keep whatever it is from damaging their new lord of their precious cargo.

"Begone, enemy of Sauron!" The Masked Man growls menacingly, almost sounding demonic. "Take you and your boasts elsewhere. You are of no importance to us; depart and you will live. Ignore my warning, and you will die!" The fell beasts roar, hoping to ward off their foe...

"I understand," Mara responded, looking off into the distance...

"An enemy of Sauron, eh? That statement depends on what this Sauron fellow believes." The voice spoke out once more, no trace of fear evident. Akuro growled as the figure emerged from the fog. It was a woman, cloathed in an odd-looking cape that covered up most of her. The skin that could be seen on her face, neck, arms, and legs were a dark brownish color, and her eyes were a light green, a direct opposite of Akuro's pupil, Mara. "I came here only to see what it was that I sensed, and it turns out that what I sensed were a group of Stalkers riding on Fell beasts, and a Kitsune carrying a sleeping dragon.. How boring..."

"Who are you to interrupt this mission!?" AKuro barked, fangs bared at the ready, electricity arching between his tails...

The Masked Man's Fell Beast, his armored head raised to strike and wings spread apart, roars again, making space between Akuro and the unknown being.

"State your name, foul creature!" The masked man shouts from atop his steed, the other four stalkers readying their bows to kill her if she comes any closer. "Or else my steed shall feast upon your flesh and bones!"

Sharavuras and his mount continue trotting along, the two soon beginning to near Gorgoroth....

"My name? Why it's Djinn, of course..." The woman responded, chuckling atthe Masked Man. " You know, your threats are very half-hearted-"

Whatever else she was going to say, was interrupted by Akuro. The massive Kitsune raised all 7 of his tails, before flinging an electrical sphere at Djinn. The sphere wizzed right toward her, zapping anything that got in it's way. Akuro grinned. Surely, this would be enough to scare her off...

But to Akuro's surprise, Djinn just stood there, until at the last moment, she raised up her hand. the electrical sphere stopped right then and there, less than an inch from her hand, before it exploded harmlessly. "Was that supposed to be an attack, because admittedly, that was very, very pathetic..." She stated, cracking her fingers....

Four huge, almost four foot long steel arrows fire from both sides of the Masked Man and head straight towards Djinn. Seeing that each arrow could tear though Dragon Scales at short distances, this being was as good as dead. The Masked Man's fell beast kicked up some ash with his wingbeats as the arrows were fired, blocking Djinn's line of sight and disorienting her....

As the group continued down the path to the Shadepines, Tetto'eko noticed something rather unsettling: it was getting darker by the second. That didn't make sense. Skinks had the ability to see in the dark, and he had little doubt Elves and dragons did too, but this was different. This wasn't natural darkness. This was a magical effect, the same kind he had seen some Demons use before. The Priest raised his hand in front of his face curiously, and already saw it begin to fade as he pulled it away from his face. There would be no seeing more than three paces ahead at this rate. "Companions, we had best stay close together," he hissed, knowing full well that the others were being effected by the magical darkness. "I do not like the look of this..."

A shadowy tendril, unseen in the darkness, descended from the night sky over Tristan. It made its way to the center of the city, seeking the residence of the two most important people in Germania: the Emperor and, of course, the Pope. Zazikel had been delayed, and he needed to hurry if he was going to get more allies. His Ra'zac were temporarily indisposed, and while Sammael was a dependable Hellhound, he could only do so much. Discord, while more useful as a tool, was more... unpredictable. He had no idea if the Chaos being was even assisting him, or just off sowing disharmony elsewhere. Either way, the Germania situation was something he needed to handle himself...

Nitsunobue felt the earth, sensing his allies' vibrations as they moved. He wanted to be sure he did not lose them, for he too noted the darkness. Thankfully, he was accustomed to being unable to see due to his burrowing habits, so it did not bother him as much as the others. He turned to where he assumed Tetto'eko was.

"If feel unsafe, can climb on back," Nitsunobue offered.

"How do you suppose this ends?" one of the magi asked as they watched the ruthless combat between the fiends from the dark and the raging inferno that was the Betrayer. "Haven't the slightest idea. With any luck, they'll kill each other." Bolthammer replied, his eyes glued to the mirror-like object depicting the battle. While all the goblins seemed entranced, Lucifron was as indifferent as ever, which was no surprise. "Boss? We're out of the danger zone, we'll be at the gates shortly." a voice intruded his thoughts, belonging to one of the magi that accompanied the group sent to cause this mess. Bolthammer's grin widened. All of this, and he didn't lose a single man. Although the area might be a bit desolate for a while, they got off easy. If Kharn succeeded, with any luck, his new path would continue, and he would be someone else's problem. If the creatures succeeded, surely they would be too few in number to pose a threat...right? Bolthammer assured himself that was the case, and continued to watch gleefully...

Andruil's eyes narrowed as he noted the darkness. Shiryaz had begun to growl eerily, the bird's piercing gaze locked upwards, as if seeing right through the darkness and at the perpetrator directly, the bird leaping from Andruil's shoulder and flying off. Furax was not much different, the stallion irritable and nervous. The horse seemed ready to bolt, Andruil gripping the reigns and pulling him closer, running a hand along the horse's neck as he whispered something in the horse's ear, though it obviously wasn't the language he normally used. the smooth, almost serene words seemed to work, the stallion calming considerably. "Stick close, and try not to give that ******* your attention. If he could turn a whole city on it's head, chances are we're child's play....Don't need to give him unnecessary openings" said Andruil, his typical joking, easy going personality shifting to the careful, calm, deliberate personality typical of a seasoned soldier...As a former revolutionary, he had a background in turning chaos into a driving force, though he somehow knew it likely wouldn't do much good here...

Very brave...for a half-breed thought Arashi as he watched through the Half-Elven Soldier's eyes. It seemed that for once he had found a Half-Breed that carried the traits of both his parent breeds. The pride, mental fortitude and keen senses of the Elves, and the strength, determination and outstanding stubbornness of the Humans. Reading the man's soul like an open book, he could see he was worried. He knew the dangers of disunity. It had, afterall, nearly destroyed his home. But in spite of that deep rooted knowledge of the dangers they faced, he knew there was no going round it. It was as if he was mentally preparing himself for whatever was to come...Of them all, this one seemed to be among the most acknowledging of the group in the dangers they faced....and the most accepting of it. He would be an interesting one to watch...

Then there was the Skink. His hatred of Discord bubbled below the surface like magma beneath the earth's crust, suppressed for many years and practically burning him from the inside out, desperate for release. Of the lot, it was ironically this one, that seemed most likely to turn on his allies. Were he interested in pulling the group apart, Arashi would likely use this one to achieve it. Still, there was hope. What would happen here would test the Skink's wisdom and experience, possibly more than any of the others, as he was the one who knew the dangers. Would he choose his path carefully and make it through successfully? or would he let his deeply buried rage loose and consequently fall right into Discord's trap?

Then came the mute Elf. A strong soul with a difficult past. that much, he could see. Of them all, he was the most likely to resist. His mental ability was powerful. It took very little observation to sense that. Not as powerful as Discord...but far from weak. There was Vix, the elven girl whose heart burned with passion for her friends and family the likes of which was rare, even in the past. She burned with her frustration over her own frailty, a fact that was painfully obvious, even without an extensive search through her mind. She felt guilt when Arsenic took care of her, when she was forbidden from participating in the fighting. It was a weakness she loathed, to not be able to stand with her friends in their battle, to feel like a burden instead of a help. However, she had confidence in her friends. What they lacked in physical strength, they made up in determination. They were fighting for their friends and family. Of them all, Arashi felt these two would be the hardest to break apart. They were very close, and the few differences they had in their long time together seemed insufficient to break a rift between them.

Then there was the Dragoness, Aviva. Her loyalty to Arsenic was unquestionable. the thought seemed to echo in her mind so loudly Arashi did not even need to delve deep, enabling him to escape detection. And from that, it wasn't hard to predict that once this game of Discord's was in full swing, she would stop at nothing to free her friend from it, and with him, Vix...

And lastly, there was Zar. the mystery. All Arashi could read without risk of detection was that he felt strongly for Aviva. This one would be interesting to watch. the unpredictable one...

As the two finally reached the palace, the massive pearlescent white gate split apart, swinging inwards to allow the guards and their captives entry. By now however, the guards had become much more relaxed in their movements, no longer appearing to be herding their captives like prison guards, but instead seeming as if they were escorting typical civilians in the city, Septimus subtly implanting thoughts of peace in the minds of the otherwise hostile soldiers, in an effort to adjust their opinion of him and Desrium. He couldn't help but wonder though what would happen once the Leadership gazed upon them...

And he didn't need to wait for his answer long. at the end of the massive shimmering hallway, the walls of which were covered in beautiful streaks of blue, purple, yellow, cyan, green, white and brown, a large copper gate stood before them, sweeping open to reveal the throne room. water poured from slits near the ceiling, resembling the upside down waterfalls pouring down the ceiling and walls of the gargantuan shell within which the city was formed. at the very end of the Throne room sat what could only be the leader of the Zuppo race. A Zuppoman that seemed somewhat elderly, he couldn't be younger than 70 years old. Like other Zuppolandians, his face was streamlined, lacking the protruding nose of humans, his eyes having a sharp gaze to them, startling blue schlera outlining the small intense pupils, the cores of which glowed white instead of the natural black. two small tendrils grew from the base of his chin, seeming at least somewhat dextrous, capable of curling around the man's fingers as he rubbed his chin, staring towards him. He was clad in a long navy blue robe, a cloak over his shoulders made of what looked like it could've been snake skin, rich patterns decorating the cloak. over his head was a large hat, similar to a tricorne hat used by captains. the hat was a dark greyish blue, similar to his robe, and shimmering runes familiar to the young Dragon, decorated the edges of the hat, making up the trim. "Hiba teh nooby, meins bosar" said the commander of the guards as they kneeled, Septimus translating the sentence mentally as 'Here are the intruders, my King', deciding it was best to do the same, lowering one leg as he curved his neck to the ground. "Uppity uppity, scrapaclunka" said the King in response, his tone low, commanding and firm. the Guards stood once more, backing away as the King rose from his throne, stepping forward. "Rise, Dragon" said the Sovereign, Septimus looking up in surprise as he straightened. "You know our language?" asked Septimus, his surprise easily notable in his tone of voice, the Guards staring at the Dragon in shock. "Did you not think others could read your mind, Septimus? It is not difficult to learn the language of one through their own mind...provided you have the power"...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"

"Commendable attire" Desrium remarked, peeking out from the nape of Septimus' neck. The armored being found himself admiring the king's hat of all things. The bright colors made him question his dark gray appearance. The only eye catching color he had aside from his ruby eyes was his bronze compass, which dangled at his side as he looked. At the mention of telepathic contact, he began to wonder why the Zuppolandian seemed so collected, when Septimus reacted so harshly when he attempted it with him. Was it because the king did not find his mind worthwhile? It may have been true that he was naive and lacking in some intellectual regards, but the notion that the king disregarded his thoughts brought about a familiar feeling of being unwanted in Desrium...

Tetto'eko's crest flattened in concern. He could barely make out the fact that Andruil was even speaking. His voice was barely audible, and certainly not intelligible to him. Even Nitsunobue, who he knew was closer by, was almost impossible to hear. It seemed the magic that had enveloped the group (including the two Extraxl flying above) was doing more than smothering just their sight, but their hearing as well...

Nitsunobue was also effected by the darkness around them, in that he felt more than just the vibrations of his friend around him. There were, seemingly from everywhere at once, overwhelming his attention, as if a massive crowd was walking by, unseen and unheard, only felt by the wyvern and no other...

Nitsunobue was beginning to become confused. Normally, he could sense where the others were, but his senses began to become scrambled. He could barely make out his friends' vibrations, even though he knew that the skink was nearby. It was as if an army was marching by; he had never felt so overwhelmed before in his existence. In his head, he began to hear voices; voices that drowned out everyone else, and made it difficult for him to concentrate.

"YOU ARE WEAK, NITSUNOBUE! DON'T LET THESE PEONS BARR YOU AND YOUR POWER! YOU WERE BORN TO BE FREE AND DO AS YOU PLEASED, NOT BE SOME BODYGUARD FOR THE LIFE OF PEOPLE YOU BARELY EVEN KNOW!"

The voice roared menacingly. A more placid voice soon entered his head.

"Do not give into his will, Nitsunobue. You are strong, but strong in the way of courage and heart, not always brute strength. You have to understand the fine line."

Nitsunobue grumbles to himself.

"Must maintain control..."

"NO! HE LIES! NITSUNOBUE, RUN OFF AND SAVE YOURSELF! LET THE ELVES AND HALF BREEDS SAVE THEMSELVES!"

"No! Must stay strong.."

"Nitsunobue, don't listen to him-"

"YOU! STAY OUT OF THIS! LET THE STRONG SORT OUT THIS ISSUE!"

The calm voice seems to get beat down.

"DO AS I SAY, NITSUNOBUE, OR I'LL TAKE OVER AND KILL YOUR LITTLE FRIENDS!"

"Shut up! You no control me!"

"SUBMIT, DAMN YOU! SUBMIT OR FORFEIT YOUR MIND!"

"Never!"

"SUBMIT! SUMBIT! SUBMIT!"

Nitsunobue spasms physically for a couple of seconds, before letting out an earpeircing screech of pain. Unofortunately, his mental distress will go unheard, and he will have to fend for himself in this realm of insanity.....

Djinn clasped her hands together, causing 4 bluish flames to surround her, each of them right in the arrow's line of fire. What was odd about these flames, and something that made Akuro back up in disgust, were the eyeballs that were in the middle of each flame. They were large, and they seemed to be alive, starring right at each arrow. When the arrows hit the flaming eyeballs, the eyeballs exploded, sending the massive arrows flying off coarse, one of them straight for Akuro. The Kitsune ducked low, so that the arrow just barely passed over the sleeping dragon's back.

"Now now, I didn't come for a fight, people... I only came to see what was going on..." The woman complained, annoyance very clear in her voice, the ashes kicked up apparently not hindering her.

" Begone from our sight, witch, before-"

"You claw my throat out?" Djinn asked, shocking Akuro. She had taken the very words he was about to say out of his mouth... was it possible that she-

"Yes, I can read minds as well. That's how I know of your name, Akuro. Now then, I shall be off... Sorry for interrupting whatever you were doing..." Djinn spoke, bowing down mockingly, before she turned and began to walk away back into the fog, Akuro growling in rage. That woman... had made a complete fool out of him, not only stopping his attack like it was nothing, but also stealing the very words out of his mouth...

Damn you... Akuro's mind roared as he kept his teet bared, ready incase Djinn were to launch a surprise attack...

"Next, time, you shall not escape in one peice." the Masked Man whistles, and he and the four stalkers fly back up, heading towards Gorgoroth, hoping Akuro can follow....

Soon, Sharavuras an mara are on the eves of Gorgoroth. The orcs open the gate for them, and the Castellan gestures for Mara to follow him in...

Mara, following his orders, followed him in. She was glad to be back here... away from the noise of those damn dwarves...

Akuro began to follow them, but as he lumberd through th fog, Djinn's voice called back to him, "Your plans for Aster shall fail, Akuro. One of your pupils shall be the instrument of your demise..." The Kitsune turned, but by this point, Djinn was already gone, and the fog was beginning to lift up. Akuro shook his head, before he galloped off after the stalkers. However, Djinn's last words to him still played over and over in his mind...

Sharavuras soon marches straight towards the door of Burzum's palace, ignoring the tussle a couple of orcs are having over some meat. He dismounts his horse and pushes open the door, expecting Mara to follow....

Bardhvadok stayed asleep, obviously too beat up to do much right now. The Stalekrs and Akuro were soon in the wastelands, with Gorgoroth far off in the distance. "Let's hope we don't encounter too many other problems...." The Masked Man grumbles to himself.

Tetto'eko looked around blindly for a few moments. He couldn't hear and see anything around him by this point. Mordecai had fluttered off in fright at some point, and the Skink could no longer hear his mental voice either. He channeled magic into his staff, which began to glow for a moment, before fizzling out. Even his magic was being suppressed, at least to a certain degree. "...hello? Is there anyone there?" he called, only half-expecting an answer by this point. He was startled when he heard a reply. "No one's here any more, Tetto my boy. Just you and me..." Tetto's eyes narrowed. "Discord, show yourself! I am not falling for your tricks! Not again!" "You've never fallen for my tricks, Tetto. Everyone around you has..."

No one else could hear the conversation for the moment, though the rest of the group was still trapped in the cloying darkness...

The tendril of darkness crept through the palace of Tristan, sneaking its way to Trajan's bedchambers. No doubt the Emperor was asleep by now. That wouldn't last long. Zazikel needed to have a little chat with him...

The raven stood watch over the still-recovering city, the taint of the archdemon as foul as the dirtiest garbage to the creature. Did it intend to sway this city's rulers in its favor as we-

IT RETURNS. FOR TOO LONG HAVE YOU SAT IN SAFETY, PROSPERING FROM WHAT ISN'T YOURS TO TAKE.

The raven fell back, its form shifting rapidly as it was thrown back to a more familiar appearance, that of an elderly woman, by the shock. Gasping for breath, the woman suddenly felt weak, her mind racing as she attempted to right herself on the walls of the town.

And she was not alone in her experience. All across Aster, this phrase was heard in the minds of those capable of even a little magic.

The magi blinked, confused. "What didja say there boss?" one asked, sticking a finger into its ear as if to unblock something that was suppressing its hearing. "Can't you see I'm busy?!" Bolthammer growled, the mage shrinking back at the outburst, though the Trade Prince's eyes remained locked on the mirror, paying little mind to the mage's question. "What...is that?" he said after a few silent moments, pointing at the mirror, the magi leaning in, trying to see what their leader was indicating. The darkness around the area of battle made it almost impossible to see anything...until they looked above the treeline, toward the moon. Or, what little they could see of it. "Are...are those...?!" one of the mages managed to squeak, as they all stared with gaping mouths. The moon, and all the space around it, was almost completely blocked out by hundreds of thousands of small shapes, more of which were streaming out of the earth by the hundreds. "There's...there's..." Bolthammer gaped, unable to complete his sentence as he watched the sheer number of Nethrezim blot out the sky. As the sky continued to fill, the creatures began to fly off, howling and shrieking as if they were caught in the day. Their descent away from the growing swarm did not seem like hunting behavior...it seemed like fear. Even in their multitudes, the creatures were diving every which way in a desperate attempt to escape. "What is going on...?!" Bolthammer managed as he watched the bizarre display. "Doom." Lucifron growled plainly, all of the goblins turning to stare at the motionless sentinel...
