The mutant's sole hand, the other having mutated into three tentacles, grasped the claw, as the twisted, misshapen face smiled. "Ahhhh, that feeling...There is nothing quite like it." it croaked, as a surge of energy entered the crustacean's form. Its body unable to contain the power, its shell exploded, arcs of what looked like lightening spewing out and striking the others of its kind as well as the guards around them in a massive chain reaction. Those that were not fried outright were left paralyzed by the attack. "I seem to have forgotten how...fragile...you creatures are..." the mutant declared, its face twisted into a scowl, as if disappointed. Wrenching the claw out of its chest, causing blood and a few organs to spill out from its body, the former Zuppolandian tossed it aside and began to limp away from the scene...

"If you may allow my intrusion, your majesty" another one of the elderly magi said to the king, stepping forward. The elder was a woman and spoke with a calm eloquence. Her robe was white with bands of black swirling around the base of her dress. Rune-like inscriptions glowed golden in the middle of the stripes. "Do we want to risk giving the omen its memories back? So that it would revert to the things the legends speak of?" she asked, raising her staff at the armored figure at the dragon's flank. Her staff was an elegant pearl white weapon with two blades on either end meant to imitate the scissor-like pincers of the large crabs. The blades glowed white before being coated with crackling power. "He comes to us after centuries of causing strife to our people, and as thus he shall face retribution!"

Desrium instinctively reached for the hilt of his blade as a result, a low, unearthly growl reverberating through his metal form...

'And I sincerely hope you realize that your aims are predictable,' Arsenic replied, reaching out to Vix, his hand finding her shoulder and giving a squeeze. Her head snapped around to look at him, baring teeth that showed just the hints of sharpness to them; she seemed not to recognize him for a moment. The auburn-haired woman, coming to reality out of her fear-triggered instinctive aggression, suddenly realized that although she had indeed drawn her daggers, she was still atop Andruil's horse. She could see them - Andruil and Arsenic both. The knowledge that she wasn't as alone as she'd thought at first was more than enough to soothe the stirrings of change, awakened by her fight-or-flight reaction.

"You underestimate us both," Zar growled, almost disappointed in their foe. He gave a tiny shake of the head and allowed his nostrils to flare, scenting out his mate and her allies. There was no power involved here; it was simply keen animal instinct. He dove with barely a sound, keeping alert for the smells of leaf and bark, so he didn't have an abrupt crash landing, and for the scents of the small party, so he didn't accidentally crush any of them upon landing. He couldn't rely on his eyes or his ears, or his telepathy; it was time to allow scent to guide him.

Aviva, still ignoring Discord, had done much the same, and was now swinging her head in a small arc, taking in the scents around her. She gave a rumbling growl, the sound vibratng in her chest. If she got her claws and teeth into Discord, she'd rip him limb from limb; there would be almost nothing that could stop her.

"Such a shame. I'm afraid I'm not exactly the most entertaining of people" responded Andruil with narrowed eyes...

At the sound of the declaration the rumbling snarl of the Scholar reverberated throughout the room, the shimmering patterns across his body crackling to life, shimmering brightly as his fangs were bared. "Make a move on him and I will see to it your entrails paint the walls of this palace" rattled Septimus, as a loud boom sounded throughout the room. "Enough of this nonsense!" bellowed the King, the boom having been spawned from the impact his staff made with the ground, the silver weapon bound with what looked like seaweed, the tip of it ending in a large conch, the bottom of it ending in a hexagonal cylindrical metal block, energy crackling through the staff. "Council, We have dangers walking the streets of the Inner City. This is not the time to pick a fight with a Blood Omen defended by a Dragon. We will deal with their matter once the streets have been cleared. For now we must find out how to do so" said the Sovereign, as one of the Elder Council opened his mouth to speak in protest, only getting a seething glare from the King in response, to which he fell silent, the ceiling warbling as the waterfalls running along it spread out, covering it in a film of water before seeming to solidify, forming a window into the city to witness the events first hand...

As the abomination attempted to leave, more guards sealed off the passage, stony coral-like ridges appearing between all the structures around it, easily 20 feet high, blocking the escape as a haunting bird-song like bellow rang out above, several large, manta-ray like creatures swooping by overhead, guards landing outside the makeshift containment area, completely encircling the abomination, all of them just over 15 feet away from the beast, small gaps between the coral forming as arrows shot through at the beast, too small for them to be shot back out in the manner done with the earlier guards. at a distance, one of the guard, clad in long robes and armed with a staff, manipulated the barrier...

"Ah...ah...ah..." The abomination croaked, its malformed eyes immediately locked on the mage, despite the distance and other threats around it. The mage's concentration was diverted as its body suddenly began to rebel against him. If he did not concentrate on keeping himself together, he, too, would succumb to the flesh change. With an earth-shaking roar, the abomination charged the barrier, its shoulder shrouded in dark energy, smashing through guards and coral alike...

The female elder stepped back into the line of her peers, the light of her staff dying away and Desrium becoming silent again, though his metal hand continued to grip the hilt of his sword. His vision was on the scene unfolding on the magical screen above. With one fluid motion, he drew the weapon, a sheen running down the indigo blade. A few of the elders raised their staffs defensively, their bodies tensing up in anticipation of an attack that never came. "Allow me to prove I am not the monster you think I am. Allow me to fight it" said Desrium to the king, lowering the jagged edged sword to his side...

Septimus eyed Desrium concernedly, then the King. "If he fails, he may fall in combat, appeasing you. And if he is successful, he will have done the Zuppo race a service, a step towards redeeming himself for the past. I believe it is a win win situation. Do you have any objections, Council?" asked the Sovereign, to which most of them shook their head, though one or two gave no answer. "Very well then Desrium. Feel free to attack. Though I implore you, do not harm any of our people unnecessarily" said the King, Septimus nodding...

The Mage stopped his efforts, cutting himself off completely as he fought for control of his mind, moving behind a building to avoid making it easy for the abomination, as below, the guard leapt out of the way of the charging monstrosity, another crustacean, a Cracklesnapa counter-charged the abomination, stopping it dead as they both tumbled sideways from the blow, the crustacean catching itself with it's 8 large, powerful legs, two pairs of claws snapping menacingly as it turned to face the demon...

"None of your people will fall by my blade" Desrium responded as he hoisted himself back onto Septimus' back. "Come my friend. Time is against us" he muttered to the Hueilin, motioning towards the palace doors from whence they entered...

The abomination got back to its feet, brushing a few organs from its exposed midsection. With a look of twisted satisfaction, the abomination charged once again, a dark haze engulfing the crustacean's clawed limbs as they were forced upward. Vaguely humanoid hand bathed in the same energies, the abomination punched straight through the animal's exoskeleton at its head, continuing through into its brain, which the mutated fingers wrapped around. With a small grunt, the shell of the crustacean burst into a network of cracks, all of which blazed with the sickly black energy, before the creature collapsed in a heap, now completely hollow on the inside...

Septimus leapt into the air, the downdraft blowing several of the Elder Council backwards a foot or so as the Dragon shot out the gates and out of the palace, soaring out into the indoor sky of the metropolis with a roar, soon spotting the abomination, just as it killed a large crustacean. The Dragon dove downwards, flipping in mid air and catching Desrium by his waist. "Watch yourself with that thing Desrium. Whatever it is, it's powerful. Don't underestimate it" he rumbled as he closed in, letting go just as he neared the ground, letting Desrium land softly on the sandy floor as he veered upwards, disappearing amidst the spires of the shell structure to see if he could find any way to help his friend indirectly...

Desrium hit the ground in a crouch, the palm of his free hand pressing against the ground while his other hand held his sword at waist level. He stood up, holding onto the sword with both gauntlets, eying the monstrous entity ahead. The coral walls formed a literal arena, where the two blights of Zuppoland stood to do battle...

The abomination wrenched its hand from the corpse of the crustacean, watching as another armored individual was dropped into the arena. Looking at this being, the mutant scowled. "Filthy...pariah..." it snarled, the energy around its head, which had since been dancing like a flame, now blazed angrily.

"I am no Pariah. I am Desrium" was the armored being's reply, his voice cold and level, though loud enough to challenge the mass of flesh and muscle. He started to step to the side, circling the misshapen mutant, blood flowing from a gash in its lower torso. Torn tissue was visible among entrails tucked within the red stained, moist cavern. Desrium's sword remained fixed on the hulking creature like the needle of his compass, ever set northward...

"Your pitiful existence means nothing to me." the abomination croaked as it regained its composure. The twisted pile of flesh, oozing a mix of blood and puss, staggered its way to the edge of the coral arena, hand glowing darkly as a hole was smashed straight through the coral structure...

As Desrium neared, the abomination swung around, its hand shooting forward its arm was made of elastic, grabbing the armored being with his arms at his sides, before yanking him toward it. "The gall of you creatures...who are you to stand in my way?" the mutant growled as Desrium was hoisted in front of at eye level...

Desrium looked around, trying to force the monster's grip asunder. Even with his great strength, he only got so far and thus gave up. "I am not standing in your way. I am being held in front of you" he said before kicking at the gash in the creature's abdomen...

The mutant Zuppolandian's eyes seemed to squint for a moment, as if not believing such a creature could exist. "They wish to destroy me with...this?" it croaked, scowling once more, as if offended. In frustration, the abomination threw Desrium against the ground and, at the same time, stomped on the armored being in a blatant show of force.
