"I think it looks quite nice" Desrium commented, having picked up the staff and looking at its ornate markings carved into the wood...

"I need a few hours rest. nothing more. This is the closest sanctuary we could find, and I'm not up to flying in search of another. If there's a way I could compensate you for the trouble, I'd do so gladly" responded the Dragon, sympathising. Obviously it wouldn't answer if he was right. he was legitimately too tired to fly off looking for a new place to sleep. "Or...you could continue to fight with my friend until you weaken from exhaustion and wind up dead. He does not tire, so you can't hope the opposite will happen. I suggest you take the former. both of us benefit" added Septimus casually...

The simian's expression lightened for a moment, until the dragon continued. Teeth bared, he took a threatening step forward. "Or, I could crush your friend and tear your head from your shoulders."

Realising he'd made a mistake in his choice of words, the Dragon silently cursed his exhaustion for robbing him of his focus. Deciding to avoid saying anything to upset the primate further, Septimus thought over his response. "But that would, at the very least, waste energy that would be valuable to you for other purposes. Like I said, if there's anything you'd like in exchange for allowing us to stay, say so and I'd be happy to oblige" responded the Dragon finally...

"You and your friend have not shown the proper respect," the simian explained with a snarl. "You do not respect my wishes and refuse to leave when you are not welcome. Why should I show you mercy now?"

"We have honey" Desrium replied absentmindedly, looking past the staff to the ape for a moment before looking back at the weapon.

Zazikel suppressed the urge to chuckle. Apparently, he had rubbed his being the wrong way. Good. "How about showing me this power, and how to obtain it? After all, your gift could quite easily be a trap. I did not become an Archdemon by trusting everyone implicitly, friend..."

"Because, my friend, you stand to benefit" growled Septimus in response with a light smirk as he shifted, standing to face the primate directly, no longer having his side towards him...

The simian thought for a moment, before walking forward and snatching the staff from Desrium's grasp. "You may stay. But you are on thin ice," he growled. "And if you state the obvious one more time I will tear you into pieces, demon."

The entity sighed, raising a gauntlet. "So be it," it growled, as the weather seemed to change suddenly, howling winds erupting through the forest around them. In an instant, a wave of light shot out from the entity in all directions, and in another moment, retracted. As the light dulled, the forest, as far as the eye could see, was blackened and dead, the leaves of trees crumbling to dust when disturbed. Hovering above the gauntlet was a sphere of brilliant energy...

"I am no demon. I am Desrium" Desrium replied, his flaring eyes dimming down and becoming less intense.

Septimus chuckled at the Simian's threat. "Don't blame him. He's always been that way. He can't help it" he growled with a smile, relieved they had resolved the situation without bloodshed...

"He is very irritating, kinsman. You would best teach him otherwise, in the event you encounter something not as hospitable as myself," the simian responded, still frowning, before turning and leaping back into the tunnel he initially emerged from.

"I never got my lessons" Desrium mused before walking back to the pool, standing as he was before he came in contact with the simian native.

Septimus chuckled as he saw the primate retreat into his hole, glancing towards Desrium amusedly. "Maybe you can ask him later, if he's feeling talkative" he growled as he edged towards one corner of the cave, the Dragon's eyes shimmering as he unleashed a narrow stream of flames, tracing a circle around himself which soon extinguished itself, doing little more than blacken the floor at the point of impact, the Dragon laying within the circle of warmth as he yawned, the dark blue tint of his gums acting as a backdrop for his fangs, the his whitish cyan tongue tip seeming to glow dimly. sighing, the Dragon lowered his head on crossed arms, spreading his wings just enough to wrap the entirety of his flanks before resting, his eyes closing...

Zazikel looked over the forest, then towards the sphere. "That is the power you will give me? More destruction?" he asked curiously, musing the idea over...

"That is a taste of the power I wield. If you submit to my will, you may taste of it as well," the entity explained, the gauntlet releasing its hold, the energy collected shooting out in all directions and, before their eyes, the forest was resurrected, all color and life returning to it in an instant.

The Blood Omen looked at his draconic friend as he bedded down for the night and then silently moved over to his side. He sat within the circle and sat down, staring in the direction of the primate's tunnel. There he would stay, a silent vigil even as he himself rested. He looked forward to investigating the pool when his friend awoke, together they would partake in another of Aster's oddities

"Both processes are one in the same. By accepting my gift, you belong to me,"

The golden eyes appeared briefly in the darkness of the tunnel before disappearing completely.

"Is something the matter?" Desrium said, his quiet voice amplified by the cavern, but even then it was just a little above a murmur to the ape-man in his tunnel...
