The wyvern noticed this as well. He didn't want to be too obnoxious, but needed to get his attention. If he screeched, it would be painful to everyone nearby, but he certainly didn't want to nudge out of fear of killnig him on accident. The wyvern instead let out a deep growl, trying to awaken the sleeping skink...

Tetto'eko's eyes blinked open, suddenly bright and alert, looking no worse for wear. He turned his head to face the wyvern and politely hissed, "Is there any particular reason you are roaring near my head while I am meditating?" Big boy here's got a wound he wants you to check out! Mordecai telepathically chirped. Tetto raised a brow curiously. "A wound? How ever did you get one?"

"Stabbed by Hell Hound's tongue.... want you to see why it not gone yet." Nitsunobue forgot how bad his dialect through his mouth was..... he sounded like an idiot! The beast turned his body around and showed the nasty gash...

"Ah, yes, the Hellhound..." Tetto'eko mused. Strange that it didn't attack after that first appearance. They were usually more persistent. Then again, a lot of what the Demon had done was unconventional, to say the least. Tetto examined the wound more closely, eyes narrowed. "It looks like... something tore its way out from inside, if that's even possible. Regardless, it should be an easy enough fix. Just hold still." The Skink held out his hands, which glowed with yellow energy, and the jagged gash began to seal as if on its own, causing little pain for the wyvern...

Little more than a slight hiss of agitation was audible from the wyvern. His mind wandered for a few moments, before he spoke again.

Andruil smirked as he saw the girl's eyes flutter open, pulling the flower just slightly further away. "So the angel awakes" he said half-jokingly in a soft tone so as to avoid disturbing Aviva. Last thing he wanted was a disgruntled Dragon to clip him in the cheek with her tail or wing...

Tetto'eko shook his head as he finished sealing the injury. "Unfortunately, I do not know. That Hellhound seemed very unusual and unique. As it is under the command of an Archdemon, I am not too surprised. Who knows what it did to you?"

"Whatever it did, it make wound hurt for long time," Nitsunobue replied.

The more he pondered about it, the less and less sense the whole situation made. Why would the creature flee and not come back? Wasn't its task to kill the elves? Even with him and the dragons, the wyvern doubted it would give up so easily. And why was the Archdemon so unwilling to show itself? Sure, h'd battled it once, but it seemed undeterred by the damage he dealt. Nitsunobue was more confused than he had been in a long time... this whole conumdrum began when Discord warped his mind....

Tetto'eko shrugged. "I'm afraid we must simply cross that bridge when we come to it," he replied. "If the Hellhound reveals itself again, we simply must be prepared. Of course, we do outnumber it..."

Nitsunobue nodded solemnly in agreement. There trully was little they could do, but wait and hope the nightmarish creature didn't try and return when they rested. Thankfully, he got a good, deep sleep (something rare for his species), so if worst came to worst, he could go a good 5 days to maybe a week before needing a good long rest again....

"Angel, eh?" Vix murmured groggily, a tiny smile curling the corners of her mouth. She pushed herself into a semi-upright position, leaning against Aviva's side, stifling a yawn as she did so. "What's the occasion?" she asked, reaching out with one finger to touch the flower's petals. Now that she could see it clearly, she admired its beauty; she'd never seen a flower quite like it back home.

"There has to be an occasion?" asked Andruil with a chuckle. "It could be a little way to celebrate not waking up with imps, banshees and who knows what else staring down at us from the trees" he suggested with a shrug, admiring the elf girl as she admired the flower. "Or it could simply be to celebrate another lovely day to be spent in such lovely company. I don't know about you, but I prefer the latter" he added...

Vix gave a small hum of agreement, turning her attention from the flower to the one holding it. "I agree; it's a more pleasant alternative," she said, and wanted to bite her tongue as soon as the words were out. She dropped her gaze, a bit embarrassed. Deciding that it was being freshly woken that had loosened her tongue, she gently touched the blossom again, feeling the almost silky softness of the petal beneath her finger.

The sea of green abruptly gave way to a massive drop in the ground, a roaring waterfall cascading down to the lowlands. A mist hung near its base, obscuring the winding river that separated the two sides of the land and at its banks a congregation of animals met. The compass trailed off to Desrium's side as Jiier powered across the skies and he heard the fluttering of his robe as it caught the air...

OOC: Damn Karate messing with mah posting time...

The city of Tristan was already up and alert, the streets more crowded than usual, with hundreds of people flocking in from all across Germania, making moving across the area rather difficult. People brushed past one another with the little legroom they had, but they endured it...

Becuase the main reason for all this crowding, would begin in a few hours...

"Hey, where did this come from?" Guame heard Djinn's voice trail from behind him. The old beastman swerved his head, and noticed that Djinn had pulled out from her pocket a golden goblet, one that seemed to be in remarkably fine condition, and had several jewels adorning it.

"Someone probably gave it to you while you were asleep, probably as a present or something." Guame absent midedly shruged, before he headed off. Djinn, looekd at it once more, then put it back in her purse and followed him across the rooftops...

"Mara, I have a request for you." Akuro voice rang out through Burzum's castle. SHortly after he had called for her, Mara's head rose up out of the shadows, only the top of her head and her two, red eyes starring out at him being visible.

"Yes, Master Akuro?"

"I have a misson for you, one that must be done right this moment." And then, the Kitsune moved in close ans wispered into her ear what he wished for her to do. As she heard it, Mara's forehead furrowed.

" Are you certain of this? Smaug's not gonna like being tricked..." But a quick look from Akuro told her that she had no choice. Sighing, she melted back into the shadows, and the shadow rocketed off, toward the forest that Smaug resided near...

All the hustle and bustle was abruptly and loudly interrupted by a powerfully booming voice that echoed over the streets, seemingly in everyone's heads at once:

"Citizens of Tristan! I come to you now with news! All will tremble and despair, for today..."

The voice cut out at that point, only to be replaced with a bright white flash over the main marketplace, as Discord slithered out of seemingly nowhere, swirling through the sky with a broad grin on his face. "...my BIRTHDAY!" he cheered, throwing his mismatched hands up in the air in jubilation, while the sound of some sort of fanfare replaced his booming voice from earlier inside everyone's heads. After a couple moments, everything calmed, and Discord continued in a more conversational tone, "Well, actually, I have no idea if it's my birthday at all. Time gets funny when you're imprisoned in stone. Go figure. Regardless, I hereby decree that we create a celebration in honor of this glorious whatever-it-is! Who's with me?!"

All over Tristan, people at first were frightened, but now, they wre just downright confused. Here was this... thing that they had no clue as to what it was announcing his.. birthday? As to be expected, people began to nervously back away, while guards came running to the scene, to see what was going on...

Now standing at the entrance to the castle, Byakuren noticed Discord announcing his birthday in the sky. She knew that there would be complaints about this occurance, so, she moved as quickly as she could toward the scene. Yes, she also was just as confused as to what on earth was going on, but a demon was a demon, and she had to do her job...

Ontop of the rooftops, Guame and Djinn simply stared at Discord, the beastman's right eye twitching from what just happened.

"Does this sort of thing usually happen when your here?" Djinn asked, surprisingly looknig the least bit shocked out of anyone, but rather, a grin spreading across her face. She coudl sense something emminating from Discord... something that she liked...

"Thankfully, no." Was all Guame could reply. From what he could tell, this was just a harmless little stunt. Nothing bad about it, and something he shouldn't interfere with...

Upon seeing the crowd's less-than-stellar reaction, Discord frowned, disappointed. "Come now, don't you people know how to have fun? Have you never celebrated anything around here? Here, I'll start you off with something simple: giving me gifts! As it may or may not be my birthday, standard procedure dictates giving me gifts. Any suggestions? Anyone? Aaaaanyone?" Discord slithered closer to the ground, but remained floating as he drifted closer to some of the pedestrians, giving them what he thought was a disarming smile (and really turned out to be more of a manic grin)...

Andruil chuckled lightly as he held the flower by the stem, handing it to Vix as he saw the sun rising. To think....6 hours from now, they could well be at the gates of the Dwarven Kingdom of Hrasskrold. As important as the mission was...at the moment he barely cared, preferring instead to bask in bliss, right here with Vix. Arsenic may have never noticed with his seeming distraction in thought, but Shiryaz had been acting as a sentry the entire night, as he frequently did when Andruil rested. the razor sharp senses of the animal made sneaking up on the camp next to impossible...

"What happened after I left?" growled Septimus lowly as he walked with his mother, the older female curling one wing over her son as she walked. "Well...your fa-...Arashi tried to take charge of the Clans" she stated, stopping mid-sentence when Septimus eyed her warningly as she started saying the word father. He was still bitter over the incident that led to his exile...of the words said. "He's a powerful Psychomancer but even he couldn't keep fooling the Clan Leaders forever. Eventually, Jhunaar, the Clan Leader of Khelisaad, saw through it, and had his own best Psychomancers attend a meeting of Clan Leaders in secret, without Arashi knowing. They figured it out, and confronted him. Before anyone knew what was going on, the Valley was gripped in the most vicious storm any of us had ever seen, Jhuunar being killed, along with Alaskhuun, as they tried to stop him. It was the blow that killed Jhuunar that scarred Dunaakh. He tried to block the blow...brave fool" she continued, the White Dragoness lowering her head sadly, Septimus curving his own under hers, raising her head before looking her in the eyes. "How come nobody ever mentioned his travels out of Drakhunmiir?" he questioned softly. "After we presumably lost three of our best fighters several millennia ago, the Elders decided it best to forbid their Clans from leaving. It was turned into a punishment. Arashi left on his own...seeking knowledge...Wanting to come back with proof that more than death awaited out there....to come back and take over his Clan...then revoke the rule" explained the female, occasionally catching a glance from another Hueilin as she walked. Some looked at her sympathetically, others with genuine joy, but still others held a gaze of bitterness in their eyes that tempted Septimus to attack them just for showing it to her. "But by the time he came back, he had changed. He got what he wanted, of course. He was more powerful than he could ever have hoped before then. But the power came with a price" she growled with a sigh. Septimus cocked his head, curious. "Well...I'm sure you've at least wondered about your name....Arashi refused to give me more of a reason to it....But to me it seemed to be his idea of a cruel joke....mocking himself and his mistakes....Seven. After he had returned, it became apparent that whatever gave him that power did a lot more than effect his mind. He was almost completely sterilised by it. Six times we tried...and six times we endured the pain of losing our young. If they were not dead in their eggs, they'd be born deformed, having demonic mutations in some cases....and even the ones that seemed completely healthy....they died a few months or years later...their Blood poisoned by the demonic taint" explained the female, Septimus stopping, dazed by the revelation. the jokes and mocking he endured as a whelp...and the harshness he was regarded with frequently. Was it all because everyone expected him to die like the others? "Then why did he-no. I don't think I want to hear the answer" growled Septimus after several moments of silence, Tanwen looking at him with a soft, though sad smile, her eyes shimmering with a dampness that seemed uncharacteristic for a Dragon. "Every one of your siblings we lost, a bit more of his mind went with it. By the time we were gifted with you....He was almost gone. He began to obsess about strength, how you needed to be strong...to be the strongest of your generation... some twisted notion of perfection dreamt up by that tainted, poisoned mind of his...and tried to force you into a mould that was not in your nature to fit. He couldn't see you were perfect in your own way. You're the son we had always wished for...the one we had dreamt of having in our first days together...And I was a fool. I let him become what he is. And now....The Clans treat me like a criminal for it" she explained. Septimus could see in her eyes that she felt responsible. she was blaming herself for it. Septimus walked up to her, curling his neck over hers as he whispered lowly "It's not your fault". the female shook her head, Septimus' voice repeating, this time in her mind. "It's not your fault". the female turned her golden eyes to stare Septimus in the face. "It's not your fault, mother. It's not. Those fools in the Clans don't have a clue what went on in Arashi's head. Your friends knew you used to convince Arashi against things that would hurt them. Your family know. I know. You should know that as well. It's NOT your fault" the younger Dragon's voice echoed, his gaze focused and determined. sighing, the female seemed to relax, as if the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders, the female curling one massive wing around her son as she lay her neck over his, Septimus returning the gesture. She seemed to finally be at peace, the wall of fear and uncertainty collapsing, revealing a side to her Septimus couldn't remember ever seeing. And Septimus was at peace knowing his mother's conscience was clear...

"We thought you were dead" growled an ageing Dragon laying by a tree as he looked up at Thurduunax. "You always have underestimated me, Arakhniir" responded the scarred Dragon calmly as he looked down at the spindly old wyrm. Arakhniir was thin and lightly built, obviously magically adept as opposed to the more heavily built physically adept Dragons around him. "I was told Vuradviig and Arturax were dead. What happened out there, Thurduunax?" growled Arakhniir. "After we split up, Arturax, Vuradviig and I began to sense a Mana Well. We landed to investigate, and moved on foot for a stretch of time as we began to get close. The ground gave way beneath my feet, landing me in a small chamber with a pool lined with Vitorite. I looked up to inform them, but then heard a horrific roar. It was no Dragon. Of that much, I'm certain. It was a Demon, I believe. And as Vuradviig and Arturax looked up to see what had made the sound, they were plucked from the ground, being torn apart by the beast, before it flew off" rumbled Thurduunax calmly. "Why didn't you return?" questioned Khurduun, a bulky, heavily armoured old Dragon, leader of Clan Burkaan. three long chin spikes extended downwards from the tip of his jaw, and a small backwards swept fill of spikes formed what looked like the base of a beard around the Dragon's jaw. "In the wake of their deaths, I felt it was more than a duty to continue with the mission. To continue onwards so that their deaths would not be in vain. So I entered the pool and found the Mana Well...and proceeded to guard it for millennia. And it remained that way until yesterday....when young Septimus, son of the Exile Arashi, found me. Once he had informed me of what had unfolded here, and in light of what he had discovered after leaving, I felt my calling had finally come. I returned intending to strike down Arashi...and to rectify mistakes committed in my absence" rumbled Thurduunax calmly...

Taking the flower, Vix rolled the stem gently between two fingers, still struck by its beauty. "Thank you," she said, with a small but genuine smile. Aviva began to stir, the dragoness stretching like a huge black cat, her forelimbs reaching as far forward as she could. Her claws gouged deep scars in the earth as she sank them into the soil and dragged them backwards, stretching sleep-stiffened muscles. With a rumbling yawn, she lifted her head and opened her eyes. Beside her, Zar was still curled into a tight ball. His eye wound had been healed, leaving only a thin, raised white scar; thankfully, there was no damage to the eye itself.
