There were many towns in Draxon for Welden to explore. Many were out in the frontiers of Aster, just by the edges of the Great Forest, while others were closer to the mountain range around Draxon's main city, Freyr-Lunge. Others still were settled far in the northern reaches, most often fortresses, such as Snowmourne and Frostbane....

Flying over a low hill Welden is greeted by the sight that is Draxon. Surveying the surrounding country side the Draconian decides that the most logical place to go is the city nestled within the northern mountains. Welden did not know the name of the city but a strange force seemed to draw him towards the city. Ascending higher into the sky Welden quickens his pace as he wishes to learn about his hidden memory...

The city of Freyr-Lunge was active and lively, the workers doing what they usually did, the Royal Guard patrolling the streets and keeping the peace. The Temple was alive today, as many members of the Draxon Chruch prayed to their diety, Greshlyunk.....

Welden approached silently as possible not wanting to raise alarm in the cities inhabitants. Flying off to a near by cliff face Welden looks down at the city before him. No surprise to him the city was completely active. Many Draxonians busy with their own problems and errands. Smiling, Welden dives down from the cliff and lands with a thud at the bottom. Heading for the main gate to the city Welden strides forward trying to look as non-threatening as possible...

The guards upon the city walls spot Welden as he slowly approaching the gate. Even if he was friendly or at least none-malicious, the soldiers weren't taking any chances. Aiming their pieks down from their roost atop the walls, the first guard shouted at the approaching Draconian.

"Halt! Who are you, and what brings you to Freyr-Lunge?"

Welden held back a snarl when he witnessed the weapons pointed at him. Swallowing his anger Welden answered the guard, "I seek knowledge Draxon, I mean no harm." Welden finishes standing tall, staring at the guards with a sureness that would unnerve most men...

The guards nodded slowly, and gestured for the gates to be opened. Immediately, the gate was opened, allowing the draconic entity to enter.

"Welcome to Freyr-Lunge, Dragonkin," one of the guards said.

Almost as if in response, Smaug's terrifying roar blasted through the city as the massive worm flew at rapid speed toward the city. The eyes of the dragon were sharp, and even from his distance, he could make out the individual soldiers lined up around the coluseum's seats, including....

Wait, what was this? A human girl, daring to stand up before his might? What sort of joke was this? A twisted smile spreaded across the greedy dragon's maw as he, as if oblivious to Discord' presence, flew over the colusseum, then descended down, all eyes locked upon him, the soldiers waiting for Trajan and Dione's order to open fire...

Welden nodded to the guard entering the brilliant city. Walking down the main entrance road of the city the Draconian searches for any place that would answer his growing question. Welden continues on his way hoping to find help for his concerns...

Along his path were many different people and places to see. Vendors of all kinds shouted pitches in a desperate attempt to catch anyone's attention. To the left was an inn, along with numerous small stores. To the right was the soldier barraxks, and many other, smaller buildings. Far up the road, the massive Palace of the Draks towered over everything else in the city, with the Temple of Greshlynk (which was also very close to the palace) beign a close second...

The vikings all seemed unsure how to react. The armored being made it sound so simple...after over a hundred years of isolation, could it be over? Just like that?

"Forgive me for my skepticism, but do you have any proof?" the bearded man asked, the small crowd that assembled in front of the two nodding in agreement. Jiier had not thought of such a thing...how could they convince the vikings it was truly gone, beyond getting them to come down and see for themselves?

Smaug, paying no attention to Discord's comment as ide from a blast of smoke billowing from his nostrils, landed in the middle of the arena, the dragon's eyes locked upon Dione and only her. Yes, he knew he was surrounded by soldiers who had their weapons trained on him, but he knew they couldn't make a scratch on him. " What sort of twisted joke is this?" Smaug bellowed, his voice blasting out for all thsoe to hear through the city, "that you humans are lead by a GIRL to try and stop me."

Dione, however, was unaffected by the dragon's words. "What is it that brings you to this city, O serpent of destruction? Turn back now, before I am forced to kill you." She commanded, her will strong and unmovable.

Then Smaug burst into laughter, a dark, booming laughter that shook every soldier their down to their shoes in fright, and nearly blasted Dione and her comrades over. " Kill me, YOU? No fortress or castle has ever withstood my fury, and one like you is but an insect to me, the Almighty Smaug! I kill where I wish and none dare resist! I laid low the warriors of old, their like is not in the world today. THen i was young and tender, but now I am old and strong, strong, STRONG! My armor is like tenfold shields, I teeth are like swords, my claws spears, the shock in my tail, a thunderbolt." He gloated, raising up his thick, muscular tail and smashing it down upon the ground to emphasize the point, the impact causing many of the soldiers to loose their footing and fall, before continuing, "My wings are hurricanes, and my breath death!" Here, his maw ripped open, and acidic saliva, not unlike that of Thems, dripped down onto the foor, where it sizzled and began to eat away at the dirt...A dark and sister gaze beamed from his eyes, one that made Trajan in particular very, very unnerved...

"No. I have only its word that it will not be here for the end of Aster, the fate that will befall this land if the shadow being is not stopped" Desrium replied simply.

The streets of the village were deserted. No soul walked along the wooden pathway made from sliced palm trunks that covered the sandy ground where the settlement was founded. The small rounded huts with broad leaf roofs were all shut with a candle burning outside the doors, the wax mostly melted and pooling in the containers made from coconut halves. Only the sound of the ocean several yards down the beach could be heard and the calls of sea gulls that gorged themselves on food unattended such as bounties of fish, raw or fried. The village folk had become recluses in the time after their armored guest appeared, fear and superstition spread quickly. Speak of hexes and black magic in the wake of the incident debilitated social interaction between friends and neighbors and resulted in the derelict sight the hunters came across... perhaps their presence could revive the spirits of the people who lived in the village they called Furosta...

The bearded man shrugged. "I'll go down to the ice and see for myself. I know how to piss the Doomfang off without being in harms way. Years of experience," he explained with a grin. "If you're telling the truth, we'll get to work on those sad heaps of wood down at the docks we used to call ships. If you're lying, I guess we go back to normal."

"May you find success with that" Desrium said before looking to Jiier. "I believe our time here has come to an end" he added to his draconic friend. He pulled the map from his ice coated sleeve, the parchment in perfect condition, not even the slightest bit moist even after the armored being's time in the icy bay. He opened it and once again moved over to the shape-shifter's side holding it so they could choose their next destination...

As Septimus plucked up a large fish in his talons, he beat his wings powerfully, stiffening his wing joints as he did so, the long, relatively slender wings catching the air currents as they slanted, lifting the Dragon into the air as he lifted the fish to his jaws, biting into it deeply, having his first meal of the day on the golden backdrop of the rising sun, light shimmering off the turquoise water below and reflecting off the Dragon's silver, beige tinted chest scales, the light playing on the iridescent plates and bringing into sight hues of rich blues and cyans at certain angles along the Dragon's chest. below, the long, irregular shadows of various types of Leviathan could be seen swimming beneath the waves, the occasional exposed fin or splash being seen as they momentarily breached the surface. around them at a safe distance, fishing boats cast their nets, their goal to catch the migratory schools of fish that followed the Leviathans, feeding off the remnants of their meals and off the parasites that lived on the gargantuan creatures' armoured hides. finishing his meal, Septimus banked west, heading inland, making his way towards the city of Daaven, where he hoped his friend awaited...

Meanwhile, Andruil walked into the stables, glancing right and left at the gryphons in their stalls, the well groomed peregrine-like one catching his eye as the familiar call of Shiryaz rang out above, the Griffin Hawk diving in and landing on his shoulder, his dark greyish cloak protecting the bird from the shoulder pauldrons beneath. Noting the large Hippogriff in one of the stalls, and the interesting shift in focus it and the other Gryphons suddenly displayed as they glanced further down the sun-lit path towards another nearby stable, the former knight followed their gaze, his own curiosity piqued at the sound of frightened horses...

"MYRN!" a stout dwarf roared, puffing from exertion as he leaned against the wall of the horse stable, facing the fenced-in paddock attached to it, having run a bit too fast from the gryphon stable at the realization of why the nearby horses were in such an uproar. At the sound of his voice, the black and white creature stopped her exuberant antics and whirled around to stare at him, having been caught off guard."Stop harassin' the horses and get yer striped backside int'yer stall, yeh troublemaker!" At the sight of her master, the gryphon's demeanor changed completely. As the dwarf made his way out toward her with a leather halter in hand, keeping his distance from the frightened horses, she stood stock still, head lowered, ears flattened, the wild gleam in her orange gaze that had been there only moments ago now gone. "Yer a right terror, you are. Don't know how Ah'll ever find a home fer ya," he muttered as he buckled the halter around her ebony-feathered head and clipped on a leading rope. The horses all moved to the edge of the fenced area as the dwarf lead the now submissive gryphon out of the paddock, closing the wooden gate securely behind them, and proceeded onto the dirt road, the gryphon in tow...

Watching interestedly, Andruil approached the gate to the paddock as the Dwarf was making his way out of it. "That's an interesting Gryphon you have, master dwarf. You wouldn't happen to be considering selling her, would you?" called Andruil as he approached, slipping into step by the Dwarf as he began making his way towards the stables...

"Strange" stated the Archknight as he glanced around at the desolation of the village. "I sense the life forces of the villagers...But it's as though....they refuse to leave their homes. It's....as if they're afraid of something" said Travius, one of the two Vindicators accompanying the Archknight. "They were visited by a vessel of misfortune whose power once destroyed the Kingdom of Zuppoland. They are right to fear" responded Tacitus, the Archknight leaping off his Gryphon, hitting the wooden floor with a thump, his armoured boots doing little to hide his presence. making his way into the village, the Vindicators followed closely. the Archknight made his way to the nearest hut, knocking on the door firmly...

The door made from yellowed bamboo chutes tied together by seaweed slid to the right slightly. Eyes peeked out from the crack in the doorway, full of fear at first. That fear melted away when the sight of extravagantly dressed group of men registered to the villager, who opened the door to his home and practically threw himself out before the Valenhad Archknight and Vindicators. His clothing, a white cloth shirt and black, baggy pants held up by suspenders meant for a fisherman was in good condition, obviously recently washed. The hysteria that descended upon Furosta had not impacted the inhabitants' hygiene yet and they were lucky the hunters appeared in such a timely matter before it had.

"Oh good!" The man began, kneeling before who he saw as the village's saviors. "Yer here to cast off the damned curse that sea-knight put on this place!"
