Andruil nodded simply to Vix's statement, looking up towards the Gryphonner once they were only a few feet away. "It seems Myrn has grown quite attached to you, master Henric. Almost makes me feel guilty taking her away" said Andruil as he approached....

"What're yeh doin girl? This is no time teh act up," murmured Henric as he glanced up, noticing the approaching group, and took a step back, unable to push the gryphon's head away, as she had dug her claws into the ground again, not allowing him to move forward. The gryphonner frowned, concerned. She had never shown behavior quite this odd before. And, come to think of it, neither had any of the other feathered beasts. The strangest part was that she had been borrowed by travelers before, and never once resisted. It was almost as if she knew she wouldn't be returning this time. As she raised her head and fixed him in a steady orange stare, the dwarf returned his own determined look, then, still holding the end of her rope, stepped around her and waved a hand at the approaching travelers as they came into earshot. "Aye, that she has. But she's never put up a fuss like this 'afore. Ah'm sure she'll come 'round in a couple'a days though," said the dwarf with a somewhat perplexed smile, taking up a bit of slack in the rope as Myrn turned to look at the group, her head coming to hover over Henric's shoulder...

"I'm sure she'll settle in perfectly well with our little group" said Andruil with a smile, eyeing Henric, then Myrn. He couldn't particularly say why, but he had a good feeling about that particular gryphon. "On that note, however, we may need an adjustment or two done. Would she be able to handle two riders? or would we be better off taking Thalion for that job instead?" he inquired...

"Well, Ah'm sure she could handle it fer a while, but if yer goin' any great distance, Ah'd switch teh Thalion. He's got 'is own set of reigns inside 'is pack just fer times like this," said Henric, stepping up to Thalion's side and reaching up to open a small side pocket on the satchel, extracting a coiled set of reigns, unhooking the hippogriff's tie rope, and clipping on the reigns, then flipping them deftly over his feathery neck. "That's one good feature o' this harness. Just unhook these four tie-downs-" he said as he demonstrated. "-an' it comes righ' off. If yeh want the extra room, yeh can even clip this pack on whichever other yer not gonna be ridin', as long as yeh don' overload it..."

"We're travelling relatively light at the moment, so that shouldn't be a problem" said Andruil as he removed the large satchel he had been carrying on his back on the way here, originally meant for Furax. it was a large grey leather pack that had obviously been well used over the years. brown leather straps held 3 bedrolls onto it, two of which he had picked up the previous night after finishing from the blacksmith. strapped across it was a couple of moderately sized water-skins. Inside the pack were a few documents and his medical supplies. While that equipment would be a considerable weight to a human, it would be much less so to a large and powerful animal such as a gryphon. still, he preferred to let Henric be the judge of what the Gryphons could and could not carry.

The dwarf looked at the warn pack and nodded. "Ah, a'right. Nothin' too big an' awkward. A pack like that'll be fine on Sulrana an' Myrn. Yeh might want teh secure it with these straps," Henric said as he unclipped the last metal latch and took the satchel down from Thalion's back, removing its two lengths of thick leather and holding them out. "They're good'n strong. Made fer these harnesses an won' loosen up in the wind... I recon Myrn'd be a good'un teh be yer first cargo carrier, seein' as she's actin a little off at the moment. T'would give 'er a chance teh calm down a little before she's ridden," the dwarf suggested...

Desrium delved into the collection of images that he had retained of the journey so far, memories of grand structures and varied peoples. "Jiier and I first arrived at a city called Grymhaven. It is a part of Draxon and its people revere a Greshlynk. I do not know what a Greshlynk is and neither does Jiier. I also do not know why the city was divided so, a great part of it was built from stone while elsewhere was defined by wooden shacks" said the armored being over the rush of the wind.

Nitsunobue listened in to the Dwarves' conversation as they spoke. This captain of theirs reminded him of the Monster Hunters of old.... the very same folk that had driven his species to the brink so many centuries go. Nitsunobue sighed, remembering the day he was trapped in that rock slide and went into hibernation, before he returned to his post outside the city, awaiting the others' arrival...

Immediately after Arashi's departure from Tristan, the presence disappeared, only to emerge once more over the city of Freyr-Lunge. The dark shape that had been racing toward the capital city of Draxon finally reached its destination, plunging the city into an artificial twilight. Rolling clouds of smoke engulfed the skies over the city, while two massive glowing eyes appeared in the midst of the storm of shadows, glaring down at the city.

"TO ME. NOW," a voice roared, so loud that it could shatter glass. It was clear that it was referring to two very specific beings currently in or around the city...

So it decided to follow me....intriguing thought Arashi as he flew, arcing round towards the City once more. You're not seriously considering complying with the demand, are you? questioned Gilgamesh's voice in the Dragon's mind. To fail to comply would be suicide. You of all should know that answered Arashi calmly. To comply would very likely be suicide retorted Gilgamesh. There are few beings in Aster capable of rivalling my power. To my knowledge, this may well be the only thing to truly and thoroughly surpass my strength by a considerable amount. If anything, I suspect I would be more use to it alive than dead. We can consider the details of the situation later responded Arashi finally...

"Greshlynk is a Dragon. One that they revere as a deity. I visited their capital city not long ago. Their 'avatar of Greshlynk' was pitifully unequipped to fill out the role it was assigned to fulfil. Their excuse was that it was a fake. I am skeptical of the excuse however" rumbled Septimus as he flew onwards towards their destination, banking to the right slightly as he approached one of the taller mountains, deciding it'd be best to go around than over it, not entirely sure of how tolerant Jiier would be to the cold at such high altitudes. "As for the difference in the structure of the buildings...that's the difference between the human classes and the noble 'Dragonblooded' classes. I'm honestly amazed the humans haven't left or revolted with such hopeless living conditions. None of the lower classes have any hope of improving the way they live because they lack the 'Dragon-blood' in their veins" he added, reflecting on what he had seen during his visit to Draxon...

"Probably a good idea" responded Andruil with a nod as he lifted the satchel up to Myrn's back, proceeding to secure it with the straps, making sure it was firmly held in place. "Tetto'eko, you'll be riding Sulrana" said Andruil as he gestured to the Gryphon. turning back to Henric, he smiled. "As for you, my friend, I owe you some coin" he said as he reached into his personal satchel, pulling out four heavy bags of gold. the satchel was left mostly empty afterwards, showing that this had costed almost all of what Andruil had at the time. But it was definitely worth the price. "210 gold pieces, as we agreed" said Andruil with a smile...

The people of Draxon weren't exactly sure what to do about the voice, but some of the guards immediately left their posts and marched up towards the fortress, wondering who he was reffering to to go "to him".....

Dhoulmagus heard the voice, but simply ignored it, transforming himself into a mouse in the event the being actually manages to find him.....

"Indeed. Something seems very, very strange about all this." Guame responded to Discord, before turning to Smaug. " It would appear that you've been decieved. The Kitsune you saw is a being that goes by the name of Akuro, who wishes for nothing less than complete control of all of Aster. For the past couple hundred years, I have been on his trail, trying to stop his evil ambitions, but for him to try something like this... is odd. What purpose would he have to pit Smaug against us, if he couldn't just do it himself?"

At this, Smaug's eyes flared brightly, and the dragon arched his neck up, ignoring Discord on his head in his newly flared rage. To steal from his horde was one thing, but to use him as a pawn? "So I have been played for a fool by the fox? No one dares use me as a puppet for their own amusement!" The fire drake rumbled, sparks flying from his nostrils. "He shall pay dearly for this intrusion!"

Byakuren, however, was deep in thought. A kitsune behind this? What Discord said was true... a demon of high power like a Kitsune wouldn't do something so low key. Unless there was some other reason why this "Akuro" couldn't do it himself... but why?

The wispy, shadowy form of Zazikel slipped back into the dark sky, heading for the glowing eyes above. "I see I am not the only one who enjoys dramatic entrances," the Archdemon mused as he drifted closer...

Tetto'eko nodded, and cautiously approached the griffon. "I have not seen one of you up close before. Very interesting creature..." he hissed.

Discord clapped his mismatched hands jovially and laughed. "Another Demon seeking dominion over all of Aster! How delightful! First an Archdemon, now this! Oh, I can't wait to see how this turns out!"

The gryphonner gave a nod as he received the bags of gold. "My thanks, Sir Andruil. 'Twas a pleasure doin' business with yeh." Then he chuckled as he glanced at Sulrana, who was giving Tetto'eko a very curious look, ears pricked as high as they would go, her head lowered slightly as she sniffed the air near the stranger, as if trying to figure out exactly what he was. With his free hand, Henric proceeded to unhook each of the three creature's tethers in preparation for their final departure, trusting them enough to know they wouldn't run off, though Myrn's was the last, and he still kept a light grip on her reigns...

"A very strange lot," Jiier commented simply as he flew alongside Septimus and Desrium.

"We have business to discuss, Zazikel, but first," the voice, hissing like the wind, said as the archdemon approached. Even if the demon regained his full form, the shadows would not allow wandering eyes below to see. In an instant, Arashi appeared mid-flight in front of the massive pair of eyes, only a few feet away from Zazikel. "I am not here to play games. Waste my time again and I will make sure this moment is your last," it hissed in anger, the presence that seemed to permeate the entire city suddenly growing much more dense, almost suffocating at this point.

"Very well" rumbled Arashi calmly, though somewhat perplexed as to its accusation of 'wasting time', as it put it. Regardless, he knew better than to discuss the specifics of the being's idea of what wasted time. It obviously was impatient, and his curiosity was piqued as to its interest in him...

"From what I've read, its a type of lycanthropy. Though considerably more mild than traditional types. It allows some of their kind to turn into humanoid Dragons. Anywhere else, they would be isolated from society on grounds that they were a threat. here, however, they are the noble classes of their socety" rumbled Septimus as he flew alongside the mountain's blackened surface, sheets of snow decorating parts of it. Through the corner of his eye, he spotted the eagle hovering as it reached its nest, the high pitched tweeting and chirping of its young barely audible over the roar of the winds flowing along the mountain-face...

Andruil put a foot in one of Thalion's stirrups, swinging his other leg up and over the hippogriff's back, making sure he was firmly planted in the saddle before reaching a hand out for Vix, the Hippogriff watching the elf girl through narrowed eyes. Meanwhile, Shiryaz leapt from Andruil's shoulder, already flying ahead towards the Assassin village, though obviously flying slowly to give them a chance to catch up...

"I know not what Lycanthropy is" replied the armored being. The impulses of knowledge he experienced decreased rapidly in the last few days and he was certain that the insight were his own memories, lost but not forgotten. They were waiting for when he recovered from his past struggles, just as timeless as he was physically. However, though he retained knowledge, there was still much he had never learned of...

Vix approached cautiously, well aware that as she took Andruil's hand, her own was shaking. Her heart felt like it had jumped into her throat under the hippogriff's scrutiny, and in her palms and wrists she could feel her pulse speeding up as nervousness made itself known. She liked her feet on the ground - the sky was no place for her. if it were, she would've been born with wings. Her grip on Andruil's hand slackened, temptation to back away and just try the long run back home rearing its head.

Andruil smiled warmly as he saw Vix's discomfort, holding on firmly but gently. "Don't trust me to keep you safe?" he asked...
