While the Giga was predisposed attacking the alpha-male, Aurora saw another chance, leaping onto the predator's flank, her talons digging in through skin and muscle, hooking themselves behind the beast's spine, causing vicious amounts of damage as she kicked and clawed at it's flanks with her taloned feet, long deep gashes tearing apart it's flank brutally, as her weight threatened to severely damage its spine. at this rate, the predator wouldn't live long enough to see its next meal...

Meanwhile, the roaring and bellowing of the Rex and pursuing trike steadily got louder as the two charged towards the Raptor pack's den, Crusher running for dear life from the furious trike, which turned out being much faster than he had originally thought, the Rex only barely keeping ahead between running and avoiding fatal obstacles in his path...

Soulbone started running towards a tree. He ran under a branch, clipping the Allo on his back in the neck thus knocking it off of him. He turned his attention to a grazing herd of Amargasaurus. Soulbone did a hunting roar, scaring the herd into running towards the direction of the Allosaur nest. This would probably take care of the other ones, but he wasn't getting his hopes up that it would. He wasn't going down without a fight.

Just as the Giga began to roar, Xanthe, having regained his feet in the moments Aurora had distracted the bigger predator, slammed into its flank at full speed, cutting off the cry with a sound like a herbivore's dying breath. The alpha male's unexpected weight and force unbalanced the giga, though it wasn't enough to knock it over, and gave Xanthe the opportunity to dig in his hand and toe claws and begin ripping into the bigger predator's flank. Behind the alpha were three more members of the pack - they took it in turns darting in and nipping at the creature's legs, their bites so forceful that blood was soon running freely down the Giga's calves and ankles, trying to take advantage of its unbalanced state and bring it crashing to earth.

The mutants, by now, were beginning to pick up the commotion outside their cave; more than one head had turned and was cocked to the side in confusion. Riptide and Vertigo exchanged glances, the gray female's eyes narrow; she started towards Steeltalin, intending to kick their prisoner fully awake if she had to.

Soulbone fell onto his side from the force of the attack. He tried to roll onto his stomach to push himself back up with his weakened legs, but failed, blood loss and the weight of the attacker too much for him. He roared out in pain as he tried to shake off the attacker, only to crack his skull off the roots of a rock, knocked out from the blow, the Giganotosaur dying shortly afterwards...

Meanwhile, Ulysses plucked a branch down from a cypress tree: His favorite food. He stared at the Ceratosaurus pair walking towards him slowly. He turned his head away from them, continuing to eat the branch. The pair of carnivores dashed at him. There was only one left after the attack; the male of the pair had been slapped in the face with 7-foot long claws and slid across the swamp's mossy ground. He was still alive, but he would die in less than a few minutes or so. The female ran off, knowing that she alone couldn't take on a creature of such power.

Dexter was looking around his new territory it was swamp land a great place to be lots of water to drink the soft land made it easy fro a large predator like Dexter to move but would slow down anything that may want him for lunch it was to be his new home, however there where also dangerous residents, just a few minutes ago Dexter heard the growl of a Ceratosaurus and now he smelled blood. Ceratosaurus where around the same size as Dexter so they where no problem however due the the claws and speed that Dexter had he could scare them away if they had made a kill, Dexter had just made a long journey and was looking for an easy meal. He ran in the direction of the blood and then he saw it an injured Ceratosaurus the claw mark on its face was from claws even more formidable than Dexters 13 inch foot claw, it was the slash mark from a Therizinasaurs, much more harmful than most of the carnivorous around here he would have to watch out for it.

The Ceratosaurus had a very large scar on his head a death wound to be sure and the blood was dripping into the eye that should have spotted Dexter by now but was held shut. This was his chance he stalked the Ceratosaurus staing out of the vision of its good eye and slowly balanced his weight making sure not to snap any twigs and give away his location as he got within distance he sprang forward landing with one foot into the Ceratosaurus side and one into its neck the hit cause it to fall over and it was as good as dead.

Ulysses turned his head towards Dexter. He was fine with this newcomer of his territory, as long as he wasn't a threat. He looked around, checking for anything that could pose a sort of danger to him. He returned to his cypress tree, plucking the branches off and gnawing at the leaves and bark. He was sitting in a sort of slump, his body sitting up straight and his tail on the ground. His legs were bent to his sides for a comfortable sort of pose. Ulysses noticed that Dexter had also finished off the Ceratosaurus male that he had killed earlier. A horse fly buzzed around Ulysses's head, breaking his concentration. The Therizinosaurus swatted at the pesky insect, annoyed with the constant buzzing and the black dot darting around his face. He hit it barely with the palm of his hand, knocking it to the ground. Ulysses went back to eating the cypress.

Dexter was enjoying his easy meal of a Ceratosaurus, Dexter wondered what drove him to attack a creature with three foot long claws truly deadly weapons, the male itself was well built and could have taken out many of the herbivorous of the swamp maby the male got cocky and decided that it wanted to get rid of a potential threat or maby it just showed why these dinosaurs went extinct in the past.

Dexter however had made a mistake whilst he was eating he had let his guard down and allowed the female Ceratosaurus to sneak up on him, the female showed surprising stealth and opened her jaws going for a bite to the body of Dexter however the Utahraptor turned around in time but his tail was crunched of by the starving Ceratosaurus female the pain was intense and the a few inches of tail where lost it would grow back but the injury was painful, Dexter slashed with the talons on his right hand and slashed the side of the Ceratosaurus. Not a fatal wound but enough to make her think twice about attacking again, Dexter left he did not want more injury's nor did he need more food as he was full, he walked towards the cave that he now called home. As he looked back he saw the female Ceratosaurus start to devour the male, like many dinosaurs when desperate enough will engage in cannibalism, waste not want not.

Ulysses looked around. His cypress tree was nothing but a trunk by now. With a full stomach, the Therizinosaurus got up with a lazy groan, deciding that he would walk off all of the leaves and bark he devoured. His tail slowly moved back and forth as he walked across the swampy terrain. Observing the world around him, Ulysses started to walk the direction that Dexter was going in. This way was littered with blood. He glared at the female devouring her mate's lifeless corpse. She looked up at him and ran off. Ulysses didn't want anything like a Ceratosaurus in his territory trying to kill him. They weren't deadly to him at all, they were just annoying. He looked to the right. In the distance he could see a dryosaurus herd. To the left there wasn't anything special, just a Dilophosaurus trio. He walked into the forest, shoving the trees out of his way as he walked.

Dexter was still in pain but at least the bleeding had stopped he would kill Ceratosaurus another day but right now he had to explore the territory some more, after all you never know what you may find and being warm blooded like most Raptors, Dexter needed a lot of food to keep him going.

Dexter heard the rustling of the trees behind him signaling that a large creature was on the move, he sniffed at the air and smelled the scent of a Therizinosaurus and wondered why it was following him. True he may be one of the few animals that could hurt it but he had no reason to risk his life in a fools fight, he had once seen one of his siblings torn apart by Therizinosaurus claws, he did not blame the Therizinosaurus because his sibling should have never attacked it.

Dexter turned toward the creature as it came trough the trees and backed of slowly never taking his eyes off of it. he was going to find out why it had followed him but he was not going to be stupid and demand why.

Ulysses stopped and looked at Dexter. Velociraptors were dangerous enough, but Utahraptors were the size of a rhinoceros. They could mess him up big time. The Therizinosaurus looked the raptor in the eyes. He wanted to pass, but he didn't want to take the risk of being shredded to ribbons at the same time. He stood his ground, not knowing what Dexter would do next. He noticed the injuries on the Utahraptor. They looked fairly new, as if they were inflicted recently. This raptor was just in a fight. Ulysses stood upwards, trying to look as big as possible in an attempt to scare Dexter away. He spread open his arms, in case of an attack.

Dexter thought, he was smarter than most plant eaters and most others for that matter, He did not want to die yet but showing cowardice in this situation could lose him all of his credibility after all the other carnivorous where probably watching this intently Dexter would not back down. He could almost guess the fought process going through the Therizinosaurus head, something like better get this guy out of my home before he messes me up bad. if a fight where to happen Dexter was pretty sure that he could dodge the much slower plant eaters claw slashes and get an attack in, however a fight could be bad for both of the creatures.

He noticed that the Therizinosaurus was trying to make himself look bigger. That may work on the dumber Tyranosaurs on the island but a raptor is not so easily deceived Dexter did the same lifting his head high and curling his tale whilst holding those deadly hand claws towards Ulysses, he had no problem with the plant eater but if he thought he would just stand aside, he had another thing coming, Dexter planed to rule this swamp and he would not let a tree muncher stand in his way.

Ulysses snorted. He would not tolerate this. If Dexter didn't move, maybe he had to make him move. The large feathered dinosaur didn't like using violence often, but if it was the only way...

The Therizinosaurus grunted and bellowed in frustration. He was standing his ground against Dexter, taking the challenge over territory. He could let Dexter on his turf but he would never give it up to him. Ulysses knew that looking bigger wouldn't work on such a smart dinosaur. He let out a warning grunt, telling Dexter not to come too close.

Dexter knew that rushing in head on would mean his death so he took his time and circled around looking for any sign of weakness as he circled he noticed that even with the fast walking pace Dex was using the Therizinosaurus was struggling to turn around. In time Dexter formulated a plan.

He let out a quick burst of speed and got directly behind Ulysses. Out of the range of the claws Dexter jumped onto Ulysses back keeping away from his claws at all times Dexter then unloaded a few slashes with his own claws. making sure to get a few hits in with his own one foot long foot claw. he then leaped off Ulysses and got to a safe distance the aim of the attack was not to kill, but to show who was the real ruler of the swamp he turned to see the damage done, he smelled blood.

Ulysses was angry. He was gonna rip this raptor like a fart. He walked into the swamp, which was pretty open. There was a light drizzle, and the area was foggy. He could see the raptor's silhouette through the fog, and he was prepared for another attack. The feathers on his back were bloodied, wet, ruffled and matted... He was ready. He prepared his right arm; the strongest of the two; for a very powerful blow. This could horribly injure or even kill Dexter if it hit him in the right spot.

If Dexter's growls where to be translated all that would be heard would be stupid leaf lover, not because of hate or fear but through shear enjoyment. You see Dexter had learned this small patch of terrain the morning before, he also had noticed the thick fog add this in with the bad eye sight of Ulysses and there was the potential for a death trap.

Ulysses walked forwards until suddenly the earth gave way revealing a mud pit, the mud pit was not deep enough to drown Ulysses, but deep enough that his claws where out of the way and his head was in easy reach, Dexter stalked forward taking his time. Watching the defiance slowly turn into fear. Ulysses tried to free himself but even by the time he would succeed it would be to late.

When Dexter had enough he prepared his razor sharp foot claw, reared his foot back, and slashed. The claw hit Ulysses face directly but did not kill, the scar was made deep, It would never heal fully but the point of this all was not to show that he could kill Ulysses but to prove that he was the dominant dinosaur in the swamp. He walked away happy.

He was Dexter king of the swamp.

Ulysses climbed out of the mud, shaking the filth off of his body. The scar on his face was overwhelming his emotions. As soon as Dexter came back to him, that Utahraptor would get a lesson he'd never forget. The Therizinosaurus clawed at a tree, trying to forget about it. He would have this wound permanently, so it was going to be a bit tough to actually forget about his wound. A few Troodons were following him from a distance. Ulysses was trying to remember which way Dexter went. He didn't want to do this, but he knew he had to, to ensure the safety of his swamp.

Dexter now trying to relax and recover from his fight was snacking on a young Iguanodon, it had wondered into the swamp away from the herds on the plains. The hunt was easy and the meal was filling but there was something missing from the now adult Utahraptors life.

In his life apart from his siblings he had never seen another Utahraptor on the island. He was of breeding age even though he was not full grown. He let out a loud roar to signal to any Utahraptors on the island if there was one they would here the call.

Ulysses sniffed the air. He was now in panic, trying to get away from the area. He might not have to kill Dexter after all. The rumbling in the trees alerted many different creatures. A Parasaurolophus ran out of the brush in a fury of barking, honking, and grunting. Ulysses was nearly trampled by the frightened dinosaur. He managed to walk away just in time before she busted from the cover of the forest, roaring in hot pursuit. Empress Shade's scales glimmered in the moonlight. She dashed after the hadrosaur, biting into the back of its leg. The Parasaurolophus crashed onto the ground, flailing in an attempt to regain its footing. Shade slammed her jaws into the herbivore's skull, pinning it by its side with her foot. She jerked her head, as a loud crack was heard. She had just decapitated the Parasaurolophus from the inside. The Carcharodontosaurus ripped the dinosaur open and started to feast.

Ulysses could only watch in horror. Just as he was about to wonder why everything happened in his swamp, Shade roared an ear-piercing cry; loud enough to be heard from for miles. Shade turned her head to the path that Dexter had went in. She sniffed the ground and followed it. She was tracking her next victim. Ulysses looked at the Parasaurolophus- or at least what was left of it. It was but a torn up carcass, and its head was a bloodstained skull. The left foreleg was even torn off and half devoured. Ulysses didn't like what was going on. At all.

Dexter looked out from his cave, he had been alerted to the smell of blood and the screeches of other dinosaurs, he noticed a carnivore twice his size it looked like a Carcharodontosaurus but the color was wrong. He had noticed that there was a new large dinosaur around but he did not expect this. There was no way that he could fight it. Make it an ally? unlikely judging by the corpses of small meat eaters left in its path. Dexter knew one thing though he could out smart and out run it the only reason it may catch small dinosaurs like Velocirators is because they are built for pure bursts of speed. the only dinosaurs that can out run a Utah raptor on this island are the smaller raptors and the ostrich mimics, However Dexter and the other Utahraptors had an advantage over small raptors, He was built for stamina. if forced to he could run for a few hours solid. He had outrun Carcharodontosaurus before and even lighter faster large dinos like Albertosaurs he also knew this area quite well now and had already figured out that with all the mud traps and fallen trees and vines not to mention the soft earth it would be harder for a Carcharodontosaurus to move fast and being so large one bad fall could be leathel Dexter kept his eye on the Carcharodontosaurus he the kicked his half eaten meal down the hill he was situated on and watched how things would unfold.

Would this Carcharodontosaurus go after him and exaust itself or go for the much slower plant eaters like Ulysses?

Empress Shade turned her head to Dexter, not interested in the partially-devoured corpse. She took a step towards the Utahraptor, growling under her breath. She was much smarter than he thought she was. The Carcharodontosaurus picked up Dexter's kill and threw it to the side. Shade roared at her new target and charged at full speed. She was pretty fast for a Carcharodontosaurus, and wasn't afraid to show it at all. She was trying to tire out Dexter. This could take long, but it was worth a shot. She opened her jaws during the head-on charge towards the Utahraptor, her teeth gleaming like knives. They were a bit bloodied from the Parasaurolophus, but other than that and the thrown corpse, they seemed as clean as a whistle. Her glowing orange eyes stood out from everything else. They left streaks of light as she ran faster and faster towards her prey.
