Dexter was in danger now, the Carcharodontosaurus was faster than he expected and he did not expect to be rushed at like that he just managed to avoid the attack and run past the Carcharodontosaurus after its lunge. He was now running through the swamp with the Carcharodontosaurus close behind how ever it was clear that the heavy mud was taking its toll on the large dinosaur. Whilst Dexter could avoid it by using the rocks and fallen tree branches the gargantuan dinosaur chasing him did not have that option and Dexter slowly gained some ground and he wasn't even going at his full speed yet he looked back and saw the Carcharodontosaurus plowing through the mud and the effort being put into the chase but the Carcharodontosaurus was burning through alot of energy moving through the swamp. Why had she come to a land where the super predators did not last to well and why did she chose an animal that was to fast for her and one that knew this area better. She was not desperate for the food as he had seen. the normal habitat of a Carcharodontosaurus would be the desert areas and the light forests. A swamp was a bad idea for a dinosaur so large the fatigue was plain to see on the dinosaurs face meanwhile Dexter was basically jogging but ready to kick it into full out sprinting in a half second. Dexter had a plan to escape and get away for some time.

He ran near the edge of the swamp to the river that's flooding caused the swampland. On the banks of this river lived not one but two Spinosaurus they where brothers and with food so plentiful they could afford to look out for each other. However they did not allow any other large dinosaurs to hunt along this river. The growled at Dexter but roared and ran towards the dinosaur following him. Dexter watched as the Spino twins surrounded Empress Shade and when she was preoccupied he slipped away. He quickly found a new cave.

Crusher charged almost directly at the cave entrance, a screech coming from the young Tyrannosaur as he suddenly changed direction, swerving away as the charging trike exploded from the undergrowth, eyes locking on the Raptor sentries ahead, a groaning bellow coming from the furious herbivore as it charged toward them with the intent of ripping them apart. Crusher meanwhile, snickered in amusement. So far, so good. His plan was going off perfectly...

Aurora rose to her feet shortly after being knocked off the attacking Giga's back, and had watched on as it collapsed satisfyingly, the fall having no doubt shattered its arms and caused several rib fractures before it eventually died. who knows, its death could have been due to a punctured lung or impaled heart, though she had doubts such a severe injury as an impaled heart couldve been inflicted on him from just the fall. Regardless, the threat had passed. checking to make sure the other pack members were intact, she then headed to Savarna, to check on her son...

Meanwhile, Fatalis's roamings had brought him into shallow swamp lands. tongues of dry or somewhat moist earth stretched in serpentine lines across the region, peppered with old, fallen tree trunks and large rocks, with mangrove trees forming small walls of wood in the deeper parts of the swamp. willow trees could also be seen spread around, as well as the occasional cypress tree. The Raptor could hear the bellows of a Carcharodontosaur on the wind, and smirked slyly as he made his way towards the noise. This would be fun...

Empress Shade snorted at the Spinosaurus brothers, trying to tell them to move away. She couldn't take them both on, and she knew that. However, these two looked plenty full, and since Spinosaurs were built to be mainly icthyovores, they couldn't damage her too well with their jaws, maybe a good hold or two. However, their claws could do some serious damage if they hit her in the right spots. She would have to distract one if she were to kill them or at least drive them off. She looked to the right, suddenly. The first Spinosaurus looked the same way. Shade grabbed its head in her jaws, slamming it into the ground and dragging it across the ground. If she could make it fall on its back, that would be one down easily. She let go of the Spinosaurus's now bleeding head. The second one ran in to help its brother, only for Shade to hold the first Spino in front of her. She was using it as a meat shield. The first Spino's flank was now bitten and clawed at. The second Spino tried to bite Shade, but kept getting a mouth full of its brother.

Wandering aimlessly through the thicket of Sorna's jungles once more, Aircrest heard the screech, the sound piercing the air and shattering the calm created by the predictable rhythm of insect noise and bird song. It was yet more proof that tranquility was only an illusion on the island and somewhere, something was in the battle for its life. The green raptor could only be thankful that it wasn't him at that very moment. The call was familiar however and he was able to recall the adolescent Tyrannosaur, his voice still fresh in the Velociraptor's mind. "Huh. And to think I thought it'd be months before we crossed paths ag-" Aircrest muttered, stopping when the strong smell of a bull Triceratops wafted into his nostrils, the scent of its aggression pungent. He felt himself shudder. "Ugh. That egg wasn't worth it" he grumbled as he cautiously changed his heading towards the scene of what he imagined to be chaos. Perhaps he'd get his own share of entertainment...

The two sentries took one horrified look at the oncoming enraged Triceratops and bolted with identical shrieks of alarm. The alarm raised, the raptors closest to the cave entrance scrambled backwards, away from the commotion. One of them tripped over Steeltalon, catching the mutant in the chest with a heavy accidental kick and knocking the breath from her lungs. Before Vertigo could pounce on her, the staggering, off-balance mutant crashed into the second-in-command, knocking the spotted gray female over with an undignified yelp. Until then, Steeltalon hadn't known it was possible to laugh while preparing to run for your life. The halfbreed flipped onto her feet, causing several more surprised outcries from the mutant pack, and started to gather herself to run. A heavy weight suddenly slammed into her flank, knocking her into the cave wall. The unforgiving stone sent waves of paralyzing pain through her right side as she slammed into it, and for a moment too long she stood stunned by the blow. Riptide, his ice blue eyes glittering with hatred, leaped at her with his teeth bared, poised for a killing blow. Thinking quickly, Steeltalon crouched and let the wall take care of him. Slowly, her thigh still aching with the bruising impact, she limped toward a crevasse, hoping to hide there until the commotion caused by the Triceratops had died down.

Empress Shade let go of the first Spino's neck. As it staggered, it was met with a headbutt to the chest, then a bite to the stomach. Shade started to clamp down harder and harder as she tried to somehow get the Spinosaurus onto its back with a forceful impact. The second Spinosaurus tried to bite shade again, but got a mouthful of sail membrane. "Damn!" Shade snarled in a mouth-fulled tone. She needed it to bite the bones. She yanked backwards like an angry pit bull, tearing off some flesh from the dinosaur's stomach. The first Spino was bleeding intensely. The second Spino snapped once again, now biting the bone of its brother. Shade's plan was working out perfectly...

Fatalis sat in the upper branches of a willow tree a fair distance from the battle, watching amusedly as the Carcha combated the two Spinosaurs. He found it amusing that this Carcha had come across such incompetent creatures. the Spinosaurs he knew would've mauled the Carcha in minutes, given the chance. He was half tempted to lure the Carcha into Thrasher's turf just to see what he'd do to the invader...

the Triceratops rampaged back and forth around the entrance of the cave and within the first few feet of the entrance, before it became too narrow to proceed. One unlucky raptor was too slow to scramble into one of the crevices, and paid the price as one of Erebus's horn plunged right through it's hip, smashing bone and skewering the hapless dromeosaur on the triceratops's horn, the herbivore thrashing his head to the side furiously, the Raptor being hurled off the massive spike and smashing against the cave wall, every bone in its body smashed to gravel-sized pieces as it bled profusely, its screeches now reduced to pained gurgling groans, the Triceratops circling round, twin jets of vapour spilling from the furious herbivore's nostrils...Crusher meanwhile, was back at the small crack in the cave wall, waiting for Steeltalon...

Even the branches trembled in the vicinity of the Triceratops' rage and leaves rained down around Aircrest, spiraling down and resting in piles upon the undergrowth. The smell of blood was starting to reach him as well. Aircrest leaped up into the tangle of tree limbs and secured his footing on a broad, low lying branch despite the shaking caused by the titanic three-horn and continued onwards, the sounds of its snorting and grunting overpowering the ambiance of the rest of the jungle...

When he gazed out from his perch, Aircrest saw foot prints and streaks of red decorating the area. Bodies, mangled and bruised littered the brush and Aircrest felt the sinking feeling again. He was able to outrun death numerous times...but these unlucky individuals saw it barreling towards them with unforgiving horns...

Shade dropped the now dying first Spino onto the earth. If its back wasn't broken, then it would surely bleed out. Regardless, it had been defeated. Shade stared into the eyes of the second Spinosaur. The young dinosaur, intimidated enough by the fact that this Carcharodontosaurus had just slain his brother, started to back away. Shade grunted, her orange eyes glowing like a pair of meteors. The Spinosaurus headed off, knowing that he could be next. Shade was too exhausted to pick him off too, however. The Carcharodontosaurus yawned. "So much for being a 'Cretaceous Pharaoh.'" she sighed to herself as she lied herself down in a hypnotic snooze...

"Oh bravo. You've just killed a dumber than average Spinosaur. So hardcore" snorted Fatalis in a tree overlooking the Carcha as it lay, the Raptor perched on a branch very much like the occasional macaws that dotted the island's treeline. "What's next? a crippled Giga? perhaps a one-eyed Carnotaur, for variety" hissed the Raptor with a smirk...

"You know, just because I killed a Spinosaurus doesn't mean I was trying to show off. I'm not dumb and ravenous, just waltzing into nests and kicking everyone's asses." Shade grumbled, awaking from her sleep. Her head perked up from her cat-like laying position and looked at the raptor without any expression but tiredness. She just wanted to sleep, nothing more, nothing less. This raptor had to be either stupid, crazy, or just both to waltz up to her while she tries to sleep and just start talking trash.

"Wait, are you... trying to piss me off? If so, it ain't happening." she snorted. She didn't want to go anywhere but to sleep. Besides, why would she leave this place? It was so... perfect. Shade turned her head away from Fatalis. She wasn't going to let a pesky raptor interrupt her nap. "You better watch your tongue raptor..." she growled under her breath. "or you might lose it."

Savarna was nuzzling the youngsters one after the other, comforting them with a low growl. Cirrus pressed against his mother's chest, seeking reassurance that it was over, amber eyes wide and blank with shock. Alira huddled next to the red and white female's massive foot, trembling, tiny squeaks coming from the tiny hatchling. Xanthe bared his teeth at the corpse, flexing claws wet with blood. Turning to the packmates that had come to his aid, he growled, "Let's get this out of here before it starts to stink. We don't want scavengers crowding the nest." The alpha male waited until the others were ready before he bent and grasped the Giga's corpse behind the head, giving a massive heave backward as the other Allosaurs pushed with all their strength.

Silver scrambled backward, trying to avoid being trampled or tripped over as the other raptors gave what seemed to be a single collective shriek; some of them rushed the infuriated herbivore, giving enormous leaps and latching onto its flanks in an attempt to injure it badly enough that it turned and fled. As jaws closed over her back she froze and drew breath to cry out, but she was lifted before she could make a sound. Twisting her head, she caught a glimpse of black-striped skin and burning crimson eyes. Steeltalon, in pain but determined, shoved the little raptor into the crevasse she'd been making her way toward and turned to look around at the madness that had been created. Riptide lay, half-stunned, at the base of the cave wall; Vertigo was snapping orders, rallying the mutant pack, some of whom were still staring in dazed confusion at the scene before them. The half-breed scanned the roof and walls of the cave, backing into the temporary shelter and wondering if the young Tyrannosaur was responsible for this.

The green and black raptor pulled back into the leaves as the group of mutants rushed out to storm their frilled attacker, their colors and quills flashing in the direct sunlight. Images of the small band that made a sport of chasing and murdering their uncorrupted brethren flashed in his mind as his amber eyes bore witness to the savagery of the battle before him. This was not the entertainment he was looking forward to.

Pipsqueak hopped onto the Giga's corpse. He was a curious little fellow, nipping at the corpse every now and then. He cocked his head, giving up on eating bits of the carcass. As Pipsqueak noticed that it was moving, he stared at what was moving it. The compy squeaked at the Allosaurs once, out of curiosity...

"Pfffft. Kicking 'asses'. HA. I'd be willing to bet a Spinosaur with some brains in that oblong skull of its would shred you before you got the chance to 'kick ***'. Oh, and who said anything about nests?" hissed Fatalis amusedly at the pretentious Carcha below. "You said yourself you're tired. You couldn't reach my branch, let alone my tongue, you mindless mound of fat" he added with a smirk...

Erebus bellowed furiously as Raptors leapt onto his hide in an attempt to bring him down, the enraged Triceratops almost literally tossing himself at the cave wall, crushing several of the Raptors between his flank and the stony barrier, before swinging around, his massive head and thick, sturdy tail swatting away incoming Raptors as the herbivore then charged, grinding his flank against a passing boulder, knocking off and crushing a few of the remaining Raptors, the scent of blood and death growing strong in the cave as the herbivore tore the pack apart as they approached, his thick hide doing much to protect him from their relatively tiny claws...

"You realize that you're NOT the smartest dinosaur out there, right? Besides, compared to us, you're just an angry bird! You make the COMPIES look like they're worth something! I WOULD eat you, but I don't eat junk food."

Shade arose from her spot, walking the other direction in search of a hopefully more peaceful spot of rest.

Xanthe gave a low, rumbling snarl, directed at the compy. The message was clear; get lost. He gave another enormous tug, the corpse sliding a little bit further.

A few of the mutant pack, seeing their friends and family fall, fled the cave. Vertigo, snarling all the while, was one of them. Others were trapped inside, with the Triceratops between them and the cave entrance. Riptide was one of these unfortunates; recovered from the impact with the cave wall, he screeched insults after those who retreated. Steeltalon, huddled in the crack in the wall, watched in sickened, horrified fascination, as the raptors that had wiped out her family were slaughtered by one herbivore.

Pipsqueak took the message clear, but jumped onto Xanthe's head and ran down his back as he departed, finally leaping off of his tail. He was off, hopping over the baby Allosaurs and running towards Shade's territory...

"Helluva lot smarter than you, that's for sure" snorted Fatalis as he walked through the trees. "Oh, and in case you don't know, angry birds can cause a lot more damage than you give them credit for. I'd suggest holding your tongue before you find it dotted with their faeces....or worse, before they take out your eyes" he warned with a chuckle, leaping out of a tree and onto the larger predator's back, walking along it almost casually...

Erebus snorted, bellowing loudly as he turned to face the remaining raptors in his reach, piercing eyes staring Riptide in the face as a puff of vapour came from the furious trike's nostrils. The Triceratops shook his head, horns swinging threateningly as he raked one large foot in the dirt, kicking up some of the loose dust beneath him...

Blade had since curled up at the feet of his mother, still frightened by the ordeal. Why did that creature attack? Why was it not moving? why was there blood spilling from it. The latter point brought up another curiosity for the youngster. He usually only saw blood in the slabs of meat his mother brought him. Did that mean that the Giga was food now?

"Can you please shut up before I sit on you? I may be fat, but I can still crush you." Shade snorted in response, trying to ignore Fatalis's teasing.

"I just hate it when you raptors strut around, mistaking us apex predators as big, dumb, brutes. It's very stereotypical, you know."
