"I left my old home in a hurry " Elias said as looked up a the man "I honestly thought I would be ok from my training at home guess I'm just young and dumb " he said with a smirk as he looked back at vix . He felt weak weak and helpless at the moment .
" Dear God the only thing I ask of you is
to hold her when I'm not around,
when I'm much too far away
We all need that person who can be true to you
But I left her when I found her

I'm missing you again oh no

"Nature is a cruel mother," Vix murmured, carefully working around a scabbed-over cut. "She gives us everything we need to survive, but doesn't forgive easily. Mistakes can cost you your life." The elven woman tucked a curl that had worked its way free of her braid behind a pointed ear and set the rag on her knee for a moment to begin checking the areas she'd cleaned, looking for small parasites that may have latched onto Elias's skin.

"A worthy adventure either way. Throw yourself to the wild and see who wins. Sounds like fun" said Andruil with a chuckle as he walked over to the river, watching carefully, his back to the fire so that his eyes could adapt to the darkness, the glow of the moonlight above casting just enough light into the river to reveal the figures of fish swimming below...still...he'd need to keep an eye out for something large enough to feed them...or at least, two of them...

"not as fun as you would think" Elias said sarcastically as he looked up at the moon and smiled softly . He looked back at vix " I thank you once more you didn't have to clean out all the old wounds the riddle my chest" he said as he looked back up at the shy his hair falling to the side reveiling his scar over his right eye that once was there but now closed permently . He then looked back toward the fire .

Vix carefully slipped her thumbnail beneath the mouth of a small leech that had worked its way under the bandages and had settled to feed there. She glanced up as Elias spoke, giving a small half-smile. "No need to thank me. It's what I do. Hold still for a second...." She pried the bloodsucker off slowly, trying not to injure the creature or make it bring up its meal; she'd seen the nasty results when a leech did so, and when the bite became infected as a result. As she pulled at it, the wound began to bleed freely; she pressed the damp rag against the circular wound to stem the flow, flicking the leech aside when she'd tugged it free.

A small splash was heard, as the spear broke the water's surface, skewering a large fish thoroughly, Andruil heaving it up and tossing it aside, the fish landing a few feet from the river. "Trust me, nature and I are well acquainted. Treat her well, and you'll have everything you could ever want. Of course, just as you want, others want. When said other is a bear, or wolf pack, survival can get a bit...complicated" he commented over his shoulder, a shimmer of scale catching his eye as he struck, a second fish being caught on the spear, the man lifting it from the water and dropping it beside the first. Setting aside the spear, he swiftly removed his gauntlets, beheaded and gutted the fish, preparing them for the barbecue spit, carrying the finished fish over and running them through with the skewer, placing them over the fire, making sure it was properly balanced before he went to clean the spear, dagger and his hands...

"nature has been a crule mistress to me over the past few months" Elias said as he watched the knight. "well to. Be honest I probly deserve what's been done to me covering mother natures land here with the blood of man people that were rebeling against my father ." he sighed softly " and I thought the loss of my eye was enough to repay her but I guess nature just has it out for me still " he smirked softly then looked back at the fire

"I doubt nature cares what you've done. In the end, it goes down to how persistent you are at surviving" responded Andruil with a shrug as he cleaned his hands of the fish, running the water along the edge of his dagger, the black blade's shimmering silver edge glinting in the moonlight as it was cleaned, Andruil wiping the blade off with the edge of his cloak before sheathing it again, washing off the spear and putting on his gauntlets before returning to the others, setting the spear back in its spot by the tree. "Though now that you've mentioned it, you have my curiosity. Who is your father?" he inquired as he sat down by the fire, rotating the skewer on the spit to expose the other side of the fish to the flames, the man eyeing the traveller intently, a mildly unnatural glint visible in his gaze, like that of a cat in the dark, though it was obscured by the shimmer of the flames, making it almost unnoticeable...

The two gryphons leveled off, Myrn giving a low croak as she too spotted the deer herd, getting Sulrana's attention. Though her black eyes scanned the creatures hungrily, the Kestrel mix followed Thalion's lead and began circling at a safe enough range where she thought she wouldn't be detected. Myrn, however, surveyed the pockets of trees and clear spots near the deer for a place she could land out of sight of them. The black and white gryph wasn't yet sure exactly what Thalion or Sulrana were going to do, but she thought if she could land without being detected, she might be able to stalk from one side while the others dove in from the opposite direction. At very least she could scare the animals into running toward her comrades, if not take one down herself. There was also the option of persuading one of the others to follow her into the trees, where they could ambush the herd from the shadows...

Vix made no comment, standing to go and clean the rag she was using again. She was listening, interest piqued, but mainly focused on the task at hand. Zar had settled beside the stream again, his dark eyes focused on the water as he curled his neck into a serpentine S-shape, ready to strike.

Elias looked away from the night for a moment looking down at the ground "my father was the king of a land about a 5 month walk from here . A coward and a crook and nothing more" he said softly as he looked into the fire again his eye half closed as he began fighting his body to stay awake.

Vix, coming back again, gave a soft hum, noticing the effort the young human was making to stay awake. "If you don't want to tell the whole story, that's fine," she said, wringing out the rag and lightly dabbing Elias's forehead with it. "Maybe you'd better rest now." Her green gaze rested on him as she felt her heart give a slight twist in sympathy. He looked and sounded as if a rest and a good meal would do him good. Like he'd been through hell and back, and had to turn around and jump back in. Like...she herself had looked, when she'd been rescued from the slavers.

Elias Looked up at vix as she dabbed the wet cloth on his head " maybe but im used to not sleeping " he said softly and smiled softly . He was still fighting his body as his stomach growled loudly . " vix could you get me some water please " he said softly looking downward trying to hide the same of not being able to help himself in the state he was in .

Septimus soared across the desert skies, his powerful wings propelling him forward, no longer searching for a speck amidst the dunes, allowing him to move at a much faster pace, using the stars to maintain his direction, the desert soon giving way to savannah grasses, and after that, to forested ground...

Andruil listened to the story interestedly. "I understand the feeling. It seems you can't deal with any kingdom without eventually encountering someone like that. I am sorry fate saw fit to make that person your father" he said at the end of it. He had never been put up against his father, but he had clashed with a tyrant before. The Rebellion he lead against that man was still fresh in his memory. Glancing up at the fire, he saw the fish had been cooked sufficiently, the man lifting the skewer, removing three small, square wooden plates from amidst the travelling supplies, distributing the fish evenly, giving a plate to Vix, Elias and Tetto'eko, taking the piece still on the skewer for himself...

Vix handed Elias the waterskin, which had been set beside her, advising, "Drink slowly." She took the plate from Andruil with a smile and a murmur of thanks, as a splash and the sounds of a short struggle behind them indicated that Zar had made a catch of his own. The dragon pinned the wriggling fish with a clawed forepaw and started gnawing on it, bones cracking like twigs between his teeth.

"Is it just me, or do you two have a habit of finding new companions like they're coming out of the woodwork?" Tetto'eko hissed with a smile, before digging in to his meal. He had been listening to the conversation, but had mostly resigned to simple meditation. Long-lived as he was, he was still old for a Skink, and meditation helped him immensely...

Elias took the fish " thank you " he said softly as he began to eat . " can i be honest this is the first meal iv had in a few days ...thank ou for all of your kindness" he said softly then he took a bite of the fish chewing and swallowing it. He took a a slow drink then let out a soft sigh . He was happy and relaxed it was the first time he was able to let his guard down for a few moments at lest .

"Hence why you're with us, my fine, scaly friend" responded Andruil with a smile as he eyed Tetto'eko. "Besides, we're preparing for a war unlike anything Aster's seen in millennia. Isn't finding companions a GOOD thing?" he added before taking a mouthful of the fish...

The weather over the other side of the mountain was considerably different than what it was before. Fresh snow was falling upon the highest points while rain besieged the lower land. The forest and the plains in which Daaven was located were treated to yet another powerful rainstorm, the likes of which were common for the area.

Desrium broke his trance, picking up on the faintest sound of howling wind. He got to his feet and scaled the wall of the satchel, pressing his helm against the flap of the bag and peeking out through the crease. In an instant the noises became much louder and he saw the silhouette of the treetops below and the downpour of rain his Hueilin friend was powering through. Even in the darkness of the storm, the ominous shape of the shadow was distinct on the horizon, its tendrils seeming to reach up into the clouds...
