As the ship landed, the craft's landing gear unfolded, thick, powerful metallic supports ending in large wedge-shaped bases, holding the craft aboveground, as the entrance to the garage folded down just as Khuurava exited the lift, walking towards the Scorpio, one of its doors opening upwards with a hydraulic hiss, the Khurakra leaping up and grabbing the frame of the craft before entering, the engine starting with a rumbling roar, the turret rising from its neutral position folded into the vehicle's roof, now looking more like a tank turret than a part of the hull. the machine guns on either side of the vehicle also folded outwards, activating, the vehicle moving as soon as Arrak was onboard, the doors closing and sealing themselves, the armoured truck rolling out through the garage door, which then closed behind them to insure nothing had attempted to infiltrate the ship, all defence systems activating, internal and external...

"Any binoculars?" Arrak asked. "This place is wide open enough to spot the Geth from miles away..."

Ecliptor stepped back from the mended wall of his craft, the panels he had removed bolted down once again and ready to serve as ambush spots once more if need be. In the time before, he made it a point to modify his robotic body, gaining magnetic augmentations in his limbs. No longer did he rely on hiding in the walls, but he could stalk targets from unexpected corners. It would make carrying out his function that more effective. With his repairs and modifications complete, the Seeker started up his craft, the engines keeping the scout ship aloft as the 24 landing gear retracted and the vessel turned towards the barrier, powering off into space and leaving the ghostly form of 'Home' behind...

Khuurava hit a button on the dashboard as Arrak asked the question, a monitor rising from the dashboard and flickering to life, giving a view of the surroundings through a camera on the roof of the vehicle, the directional controls and zoom scroller on a keyboard that rose with the monitor, now unfolded before the Turian, as Khuurava kept his eyes ahead...

"Well, that works," Arrak remarked. As he checked through the viewscreen, he saw a a line of massive satellite dishes on the horizon. "Well, looks like the communication hub is off that way..." he muttered, before spotting something a little more out of the ordinary. "Hello, what's this? Some sort of tower up ahead. Might be the Geth's jamming tower, because it definitely doesn't look like any Alliance tech I've ever seen. Got a couple of AA guns around it, too..."

"Hm...Could be handy to destroy the tower" said Khuurava as they approached the base, the guns scanning automatically for potential targets. "bump up the zoom a bit. See if you can't spot any Geth forces. armoured vehicles, anti armour weapons, anything of the sort" he added, considering the possibility they could get shot even before they reached the base...

"Got it," Arrak said, zooming in. Other than a few Geth infantry (far smaller than the Geth Prime they had fought previously by the looks of it) and a couple of hovering drones, there were no obvious ground defenses. "That's weird... just basic infantry, I think. No anti-armor. This shouldn't be a problem rolling on through..."

"Keep searching. I doubt they'd be able to take a colony with aerial and infantry units alone, even one out here" said Khuurava firmly as closed in on the colony. He wished there were a few hills large enough to give him a decently elevated view of the colony, to allow him to assess the risk properly...

"Can't see anything past the Geth checkpoint," Arrak said. "If there's anything bigger, it's at the actual facility itself..."

F46 P27 had yet to be explored. Its glowing forests and wetlands awaited any new colonists interested in inhabiting or exploring it. However, there was a dire and unknown downside to anything landing on the luminescent planet's shining surface...

"Well then. Guess we shouldn't keep them waiting" said Khuurava as he accelerated, the armoured vehicle closing in on the base rapidly, soon reaching the inner perimeter, just beyond the entrance. The vehicle's built in targeting system began scanning for possible threats...

The Geth outpost appeared to be little more than the jamming tower, a small set of scaffolds and walkways hastily put together, and two large cannons, clearly made for AA activity. Geth soldiers, closer to man-sized than the Prime on Omega, lined the platforms, opening fire on the Scorpio as it moved towards them. Arrak noticed that they mostly fired anti-infantry rockets. Little use against the vehicle's shields and armor. Something was very off. They had to have more defenses around something as valuable as a jamming tower...

Arrak's silent question was quickly answered. A Geth ship, far larger than the Scorpio, streamed down from the dust-choked clouds, sweeping perpendicular to the Scorpio's current route, far in front of the vehicle. As it passed, two flashes of light emanated from its underside, followed by a pair of large objects that crashed to the ground, throwing up plumes of dirt. As the insect-looking ship slipped away again, the two objects expanded, lifting themselves up on four sharp-tipped legs, long necks and heads extending from their metallic torsos, each with the signature Geth "eye." Each construct was nearly 20 feet tall, and they both turned to face the incoming Scorpio, a glow coming from just underneath each vehicle's head. "Sh*t, ambush, ambush!" Arrak shouted. "Evasive maneuvers, Khuurava! Enemy walkers!" As he spoke, the Geth Armatures fired, two blue energy bolts sailing straight for the Scorpio...

Khuurava was quick to respond, the Scorpio jerking to the side as the accelerator was floored, the vehicle evading the bolts as the vehicle's main gun shifted and locked on to one of the walkers, the heavy plasma cannon unleashing a high speed ferrous slug directly at one of the walkers, a large bluish white explosion engulfing the machine on impact, as the assault cannons on either side of the vehicle shifted to lock on the smaller infantry units, the Gatling guns revving up and firing high speed streams of plasma directly at them...

The Geth soldiers took cover behind the platform railings, though several were cut down before they could do so. At least they were more fragile than the Prime, Arrak thought. The Armature, on the other hand, didn't flinch when it took the round, its shields absorbing the attack. While the two tanks recharged their Siege Pulses, they fired their own machine guns back at the Scorpio, the phasic rounds most effective against kinetic barriers...

The Scorpio fired a second round from it's turret, engulfing the armature in a second explosion, rapidly wearing away at the shield, while the assault cannons shifted their focus to the walker as well, determined to bring down the armature quickly. "We need to find some kind of cover or we'll be torn apart!" snarled Khuurava as he moved to the side, the vehicle almost perfectly perpendicular to the armatures and infantry units, giving maximum evasive ability. the vehicle's shields were powerful, and its armour thick, but it wouldn't last forever...

"Use the tower and turrets!" Arrak shouted, as the effected Armature staggered from the second blow. A third would probably take it out, but they still had another Armature and several infantry to deal with. "They're plenty big, and these walkers don't look very agile!" To prove his point, the Armatures turned to try and bring their Siege Pulses to bear on the Scorpio, but they weren't particularly fast. The infantry were quicker to recover, using the distraction of the Geth tanks to pop from cover and continue to fire...

the Scorpio roared towards one of the AA guns, which stood out of the general shape of the facility, giving a limb of cover, as the turret fired a third time, the round slamming through the remnants of the Armature's shields and tearing right through the machine's plating, liquefying everything it touched just as the Scorpio disappeared behind the AA gun, skidding as it spun around, Khuurava turning and hitting the brakes as he saw a chance to rid them of the trouble. "Time for a bit of payback. The fewer walkers they have, the better. We'll need to come by this path again to get back to the ship. I'd rather not leave our escape route to chance" said the Khuurakra, the vehicle rolling forward, out of cover, as the turret fired again on the second armature, rolling back behind cover to reload...

Sparks flew from the first Armature, the Geth walker twitching spasmodically before finally collapsing in a smoking heap. The second absorbed the first shot, firing on the Scorpio when it popped out of cover, trundling after the vehicle when it retreated behind the AA gun again. The infantry waited back at their platforms, patient as only a synthetic could be...

The Sheekhs continued their journey deeper into the empty facility, only the sound of their footsteps and the ping of their motion tracker keeping them company. The group wandered through empty halls, painted in the blood of the hapless aliens that once inhabited these halls only a few months, maybe even weeks or days, before they had arrived. It was a most disturbing experience...

Soon, Agrippa arrived at another console. Curious, Agrippa soon investigated it...

The Scorpio rolled out of cover as it fired again, the armoured vehicle making sure not to cease it's movement, the front and rear wheels turning to turn more swiftly, the vehicle making a turn that would seem impossible for a vehicle of its scale, the vehicle managing a second shot just before disappearing behind cover, Khuurava accelerating away from the location to find a more lightly defended location along the base's perimeter, knowing the Geth would be rushing to the spot the Armatures had been at expecting the attack from there...
