Three hours later, another storm had brewed above the Temple and the ancient forest surrounding it. the pitter-patter of rain had become so loud and numerous that it sounded more like a hiss against the shrine's stone courtyards, stairs and roof, water trickling down the decorative grooves in the temple's design in a pattern at each of it's corners, the sky a soothing, sombre grey shade, clouds churning and rolling in the heavens as the occasional rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance, the vast storm gathering force, undoubtedly part of a larger cell rolling in from over the ocean, though it seemed a bit strong even for this place. Septimus stood above the building, still practising his mana-manipulation, deciding it best he continued to fine tune it before attempting to change form once more, though it seemed, judging by the web-like cluster of glowing cracks that covered his form that he was almost ready to try again. Arashi meanwhile, sat beneath the shade of the temple's wide roof, watching the jungle as it absorbed the transparent lifeblood gifted to it by the heavens, the forest itself having grown noticeably quiet since the storm began an hour earlier...

Meanwhile, Andruil had closed in on the village, easing Thalion downwards, as the distant rumble of thunder reached his ears, hinting towards a coming storm. The Hippogriff descended casually, until he was almost ground level as they neared the city gate, the winged beast landing in a gallop, soon slowing his pace to a trot, then a walk, walking into the village to see all the Valenhadian forces on alert, watching him as he entered, though lowering their weapons once they had confirmed it was him. "Seems they've been busy" said Andruil as he noted how quickly the walls had been erected, and how swiftly the inn's infrastructure had been rebuilt, the lower floor's walls already in the process of being put in place...

Elsewhere, the Archknights stood guard over Trajan. During an attempt to move the Emperor to a more secure location, a small group of banshees dove at them from above, breaking the Archknights' focus just long enough for the shade to escape, the banshees being annihilated in moments, though Dhoulmagus was already gone. They had, however, gathered all the information they needed from him. They knew that Zazikel was a Dragon possessed by an Archdemon, which was both the master of the shade and the master of the Draxon forces. They learned that he, in turn, was the servant of some greater entity. Trajan's earlier visitor had informed him that they were to move their armies to a predetermined position to engage the enemy. This information was relayed to Valenhad, which had swiftly assembled it's forces, moving towards the predetermined meeting spot, Knight Commander Alexander at its head. the Archknights then turned to Trajan, and currently awaited his decision, sworn to guard him wherever he went.

Dhoulmagus grumbled, angry that he had told those worthless knights and the foolish, incompetent emperor what he had. What a fool he had been! but, perhaps this was something he coudl take advantage of- if Zazikel is slain and Draxon is weakened by those petty mortals' armies, he could finally have his revenge!

But he had other things to worry about. Zazikel expected things to be done. Knowing that failure was not an option, Dhoulmagus decided to pay a visit to some millenia old friends. The Shadowreavers of the Great Forest would be a grand addition to his overlord's armies, and, at the very least, they would be able to strike his foes in the dead of the night, wearing them down slowly and steadily, if not inflictign heavy casualties...

Nitsunobue wandered alone in the great forest, searching for the scent he had caught so many hours ago. Soon, however, he came to a narrow pass. The scent was strong, but seemed to be an older one, for it smelled old and weak. Nonetheless, Nitsunobue began to cross the pass, curious to what he would find...

Desrium appeared before the enormous hammer, the rain washing the mud and the scents of the forest from his robe and metal shell well in advance of his arrival at the shrine. His time in the forest cemented the fact that it was a treacherous place home to mysterious creatures and terrible monsters that are better left undisturbed. He even came across scorched deadness, the cause of which was unknown besides a very faded magical signature left in the area. What ever combat experience he garnered from his "adventure" was gained through self preservation more than anything. Nevertheless, he made it out of the ancient forest and back to the rain-battered ruins; and so he started walking back to the courtyard, wondering how the others fared in his time away.

"Ah, so this is the place you come from," Tetto'eko remarked as he eased Sulrana down to the ground behind Andruil.

Discord hovered above Trajan's head, bored beyond belief by this point. He had watched the interrogation quietly, and his annoyance at how everything appeared to be going "according to plan" for the Archknights had been steadily increasing over the past three hours. Only when Dhoulmagus's banshee minions had allowed the creature to escape had Discord felt any sense of excitement, though the potential of an entertaining fight had been dispelled disappointingly quickly when the Archknights easily vanquished the creatures. Still, the promise of an upcoming epic battle kept him around, if only so he could learn more about what was going on...

Zazikel slipped silently through the halls of Draco's palace, heading for his throne room. He had one final plan of action to go through with, in order to cement this nation's absolute loyalty to not only the puppet, but the puppeteer...

Draco sat silently upon his throne, pondering thins to come. The rom was eerily silent; only the footsteps of royal guards and the screams of prisoners down in the dugeon kept the tired king company in his regal home. He expected Zazikel today... and he was about to see his guess come true...

Dhoulmagus soared across the heavens in his eagle form, eyes darting abou as he passed over the marshes of Germania. Soon, he would arrive at the great forest... and the recruition of the forest's most evil residents would become his own personal army...

Nitsunobue passed cautiously over the pass, eyes glancing about, the titanic horned beast watching his every step. The other side seemed so far away...

Zazikel appeared before Draco with little fanfare, staring at him in his shadowy alternate form. "Draco, we have business to discuss," he growled. "The final piece of the puzzle."

Draco perked up as Zazikel spoke.

"What do you command, my lord?" Draco asked as he rose to his feet.

"Your people are loyal, but only to you," Zazikel began. "However, I have to reveal myself at some point, but I cannot tell your entire nation that I am an Archdemon. I suggest a different course of action: tomorrow, introduce me to your city, but as an emissary of your Dragon-God, Greshlynk..."

Draco scratched his chin, pondering the idea.

"An excellent idea, I must say, Zazikel," Draco replied. "That way, there will be no need to fear mutiny in the near future..."

Draco chuckled. "This is going well, wouldn't you say, my friend?"

A raven shot through the dry air of the Wastelands, the city of Gorgoroth looming in the distance, rapidly approaching...

Far in the distance, but still within sight of, the shrine, a large blazing-gold shape shot through the rain, the water evaporating instantly the moment it touched the source of the light. The steam caused by the evaporating rain made it difficult to see anything more than steam and light, which moved toward the shrine at an incredible speed.

Radamand stood at the edge of the courtyard, staring off into the land beyond blankly.

"Do not rejoice so quickly, Draco," Zazikel growled. "Once everyone else in Aster is obliterated and I rule, you will be rewarded greatly for your efforts. Until then, be careful. We have many enemies around us..."

Eventually Desrium came to a stop beside the giant, the coral adorned behemoth untouched by the rain that made the armored being's robe droop, the hood almost blocking his vision. His red eyes were upturned, looking at Radamand as he stared off into the haze for several moments before he himself turned to see what gripped his attention, spurred by an influx of magical energy. Seeing the gold light, the Blood Omen knew his friend had returned...but was still in his charged state. It was most peculiar.

Nitsunobue saw an odd occurance off in the distance... the light was almost blinding, even from this distance. Nitsunobue pressed onward, hanging his head low as he continued crossing the narrow walkway. The wyvern soon arrived on the other side, the brutish creature continuing his march from there, curious to the source now...

Draco sighed.

"True enough, my lord.... true enough..." the young king soon looked back to the shadowy being. "So, has there been any success with recruiting others to our banner?"

Dhoulmagus soon spotted the Great Forest looming in the distance. Encouraged, the dream eater soon dove down, looknig for a clearing to land in and call out to the Shadowreavers...

Draco's curiosity was soon peaked.

"Benefactor?" Draco inquires.

Arashi glanced up as Jiier approached, intrigued by the large amount of energy surrounding the incoming Dragon. He had sensed it in the being the moment he saw him, but this was the first time he saw that energy being manifested physically. Regardless, it made for quite a sight...

Septimus meanwhile, flashed brightly as his form was engulfed in light for a moment, before it went dark, shadows swirling around the Dragon's form as his body changed, obscured by the darkness, which finally dissolved to reveal a dark elf, similar to the Hukkamil-Birran, though there was no mistakening the glow of his cyan iris, and the black sclera upon which they lay. platinum blond hair grew long from his head, tied back into a ponytail, a few strands and bangs framing his slender face, his elven ears visible amidst the hair, two earrings visible on his right ear, halfway along its length. The elf stood roughly 6'7", and his dark, charcoal grey skin was smooth as would be expected of an elf. Reaching for his satchel, a collection of clothing was quick to rise, the new shapeshifter quick to dress himself in something more appropriate for his disguise. The process took only moments, Septimus knowing almost instinctively how to dress himself, and as he looked down, he couldn't help but smile in satisfaction of the collective achievement of his new form. He was dressed in elegant, though casual clothing, similar to what would be seen on an elven nobleman. It consisted of a white shirt, the sleeves of which were rolled up just below his elbows, revealing the shimmering runic tattoos that decorated his arms in Dragon form, in addition to black trousers, black leather boots completing the outfit. Over the shirt was an elegantly decorated grey vest, which was closed from around halfway down its length, open from above, the shirt beneath also open just above that, exposing the top most area of the man's chest and collar. On his hands were a pair of fingerless gloves, which ended just past his palms, the backs of his hands covered in relatively thin steel plates decorated with the Celtic trinity symbol. His transformation and equipment complete, Septimus glanced over his form, examining it for flaws, as the rain above him was redirected by the field of magical energy he maintained around him. It could use some adjustments, but for now, it would do. Satisfied, Septimus walked towards the edge of the roof, just before overlooking the edge of the platform before the steps, noting the shimmering golden glow in the distance. Jiier, no doubt. Leaping, the shapeshifter dropped to the ground below, an easy 60 foot drop, Septimus landing in a crouch before rising to his full height, glancing towards Desrium before heading towards him and Radamand...

In a few moments, Jiier shot over the shrine, slowing to a complete stop in a matter of seconds, before plummeting out of the sky. Crashing through the foliage, which burned slightly at his touch even in the rain, the blazing dragon landed in the courtyard with a heavy crash, cracking the stone with his landing. The dragon still heaved like a rabid beast, a continuous gout of steam rising from him as the rain continued to pour from overhead. Jiier looked to Desrium, Radamand, and Septimus with his teeth barred, his eyes narrow and deadly focused. By now, Radamand had turned to regard the return of the dragon, but did not move or say anything, merely staring at the golden beast like a statue.

Icil had already set off by now, riding on Rattlebones's back. She would obviously not hesitate to leave a place that basically looked forward to her fate. The girl's wings stretched themselves, as if they had a mind of their own.

The glowing eyes of the corrupted elf glared at the sky, taking note that Icil was in the air...

The red eyed being did nothing to break the steely silence between those present at the shrine, only the patter of rain and the hiss of steam being the only sounds heard. The tension was almost embodied by Jiier, whose energies electrified the very atmosphere of the courtyard. The Blood Omen had seen his friend like this before, however brief it was. He had looked into the golden dragon's eyes and saw wrath glaring back at him- something the armored being has come to recognize clearly.

It appeared that Desrium did not simply leave danger in the ancient forest...
