Burzum turned to the woman.

"You mean the armored creature?" the elderly Olog-hai replied. "Yes... indeed we have seen him. His message was... grim, at the very least."

Mara gritted her teeth. Indeed, she had seen the being that the old woman had mentioned. She didn't like it one bit. She had waited two years, two full years for her revenge to be complete, but what was this? Some armored being gonig all, "You are under my eye at all times!" and this old woman trying to scare them? Oh hell no. She wasn't gonig to let anyone, or anything, get in her way.

Mara turned to Burzum. "Lord Burzum, I was just about to take your hungry orcs out to qwench their bloodlust, when this shapeshifter arrived..." She said, already plannnig out what she would have to do...

"It seeks to shape this land to suit its needs. Unfortunately, such a thing would mean the death of all life on Aster, and this being is just fine with that," the old woman explained, leaning heavily on a wooden staff. "If you wish to feel the thrill of battle, save your strength and strike at this being with the rest of Aster. Put aside your petty emotions and realize there is a much larger threat looming over us all."

"It is the nature...of my power..." Jiier replied weakly, though his breathing had begun to even out. "It is not like the mana...that you and Septimus use."

"This did not happen before. You did not suffer such ill consequences" Desrium pressed on, leaning his spear on his shoulder. As he did so, he could feel tremors...impact tremors. Something large was approaching the temple grounds...

Burzum's eyes grew wide. He was, in all honestly, shocked. He knew this being was powerful... but he never realized the threat it posed to them. How could somethnig of such power exist? Not only that, but if it succeeded, it meant that his dreams of ruling Aster would come to an end! And that is the last thing he wanted to do. His life was nearing an end... but he did not want to end it with dissatisfaction.

"I see..." Burzum replied, obviously terrified of this news. "I shall prepare my legions at once! Such a being means death to more than just me and my homeland's pride..."

Burzum turned to his assembled orcs. Though not only were the readied orcs listening, but the workers, the Olog-Hai, the stalkers, and a barely arriving Sharavuras also overheard.

"Those who have not assembled their weapons, prepare yourselves! We have much greater things to worry about than I had foreseen! To arms, my Morannon comrades, to arms!"

Roars of all kind began to erupt, signalling their agreement for bloodshed...

Tetto'eko approached Myrn, curiously staring at her chest. "Something wrong, girl?" he hissed, while Mordecai watched cautiously from the Skink's shoulder...

"I think I'll go with your pals," Discord said, hovering over to Guame and Djinn. "This place is nice and all, but I do hate being cooped up in one spot for too long..."

"Indeed I shall," Zazikel replied. "For now, I will focus my attentions on the amulet. With my increased power, I believe I have figured out a way to use it..."

"Thank you, Jiier" responded Septimus with a smile. Meanwhile, his mind was preoccupied with various uses he could gain from transformation. the obvious one was the ability to move through society without disrupting everything. There were others however. He considered the possibility of using it in combat, to gain an advantage against a foe. It would serve well in negotiations, and would also mean he could trick others into underestimating him. His attention was pulled away when he overheard Desrium saying what had happened was not normal, his focus once again shifting to the maned Dragon...

"I needed to go...much deeper into my power," Jiier explained with some effort, shifting into a more respectable position. "The coming battle against this 'traitor' will require my full strength. It is not something I experience frequently...but I must expose myself to it now and again."

A small dagger landed a few feet from Burzum, impaling itself in the ground. A piece of paper was stuck to the weapon; a map, detailing where they would need to go. "Do not let this...demon...distract you from what truly matters, Burzum of Gorgoroth," the old woman said simply before transforming, before their eyes, into a raven. The bird fluttered away from the orc city, toward the shrine detailed in the map...

"It makes you furious and leaves you exhausted. Your power is as much a threat to yourself as it is for others" the armored being mused. "Is this why you lived the life of a hermit?" he asked.

Mara was now chuckling to herself as sh emade her way over to Burzum, the half-demon's smirk spreading little by little. "Lord Burzum, why don't you allow me to take your orcs and give them a little further training? If we are going to go after this evil being that wishes to recreate all of Aster, then no doubt your forces will have to be in top condition to do so..." She said, a fiery glint in her eyes, a glint that betrayed the action she was about to commit...

Septimus's focus was interrupted when a mental nudge brought him to attention, noting Arashi watching him. "How is it you are capable of shapeshifting?" he rumbled, Septimus smirking in satisfaction. "It's in my blood" responded the dark elf casually. "We lost that ability generations ago-" started Arashi. "As a result of coupling with Clan Burkaan" said Septimus. A raised brow came from the elder Wyrm before him. "Interesting. I suppose this is another gift from Thurduunax, is it? questioned the Stormweaver, Septimus simply nodding, before closing his eyes, taking in the peace of the storm above them, Arashi seemingly returning to his meditation, though a few moments later, the loud thumps of the Wyrm's vast wings filled the air, Arashi flying out into the storm...

"At first," Jiier growled, surprised at how perceptive his simple friend was. "When I had a very tenuous hold over it, it was better to remain hidden. That and..." Jiier continued, trailing off as he accidentally stumbled upon a subject he did not particularly like.

Burzum lifted the dagger with his index finger and thumb, being careful to not break it. He gave the woman a slight salute as she disappeared off into the distance in the guise of a bird. Burzum then turned to Mara.

"That would be... a good idea," Burzum grumbled, the Olog-Hai chief surpressing a cough. "But do not tarry, and do not waste my soldiers on something frivilous, mistress Mara... or I'll see to it that Bardhvadok has a new toy to play with."

Draco gave a quick bow to Zazikel.

"As you wish, my lord."

"If it is something you do not wish to speak about, I will understand" Desrium assured the maned dragon. "The fact of the matter remains that your full abilities are needed; and in order to use them properly you must practice. Even if the repercussions are harsh" he added.

"Thank you for understanding," Jiier growled, laying his head on the wet, cracked stone. Although drenched at this point, the dragon was still content to stay in the cooling downpour.

"You are welcome" Desrium replied. With that, he put some distance between himself and the maned drake. He secured his grip on the shaft of the spear and proceeded to continue his own training in the soaking rain...

Mara's voice dropped from respecting to sarcastic and dripping with sadism as she walked around, the half-demon now within 30 feet of Burzum. "Oh don't worry, I won't be wasting any of your oh so precious warriors... By the way, shouldn't it be time for, oh I don't know... a change of leadership?" She casually asked as she aimed her staff at Burzum. At that moment, a pillar of flames spiraled out of the snake head, and right for Burzum... Mara was in an expansive mood, a mood to take over...

Bursum snarled as the flames washed over him. The orcs backed off afraid yet curious, as they began to call on a fight.Burzum snarled, dispersing the flames with relative ease, though his ksin was singed and some of his hairs had been burnt off. The titant let out a roar, before he coutnered with a horizontal swing of his massive blade.

"Fool!" Burzum bellowed. "I'll beat you to a bloody pulp!"

Icil continued to fly over the forested lands, unaware that she was being watched by the very reason of her travels. Rattlebones continued slicing through the air of the skies, his bony wings working as if they were actually still belonging to a living wyvern...

"Our duty is to watch over you, your Majesty. Pay us no more mind than you would your own guards. Unless your life is threatened or you ask of us some service, we will remain silent in the background" said Paracelsus as he eyed Trajan calmly, his glowing eyes ever alert, awaiting the moment when his abilities would be called upon as he stepped back, standing a few feet from the King...

Septimus meanwhile was preoccupied with the thoughts of what his father had told him. He had been told things that he hadn't suspected were possible. In fact, from what Arashi had said, they were, for all intents and purposes, impossible. It was a freak stroke of luck that had saved him from utter annihilation. On the one hand, Septimus wished the experiment had failed. On the other hand, he was thankful it didn't. He still loathed his father, but not to the point he would wish himself to have never been born. the drow pressed his fingers against his temples in frustration. The story, as far as he could tell, was only just beginning, and already the lines that defined what he knew of his father were dissolving into a blurry, scattered mess. What then, awaited him as the story progressed? the young Hueilin both dreaded and anticipated the answer...
