"....That was anti-climactic" said Septimus as the conversation abruptly ended, everything immediately returning to the way it had been mere minutes ago. Arashi was off meditating, Radamand was off doing...something. Jiier was sleeping, and the newcomer was walking off somewhere, probably not sure what to do with himself. Shrugging, the dark elf walked back to his spot beside one of the pillars, sitting down with his back to the pillar as he reached into his satchel, pulling out a book on Dragons. Opening it, he began to read...

Nitsunobue soon made himself at home near where Jiier was resting. This whole ordeal seemed a bit pointless. The wyvern was more than a bit confused on this whole matter... the giant seemed awfully unfriendly. He seemed unwilling to explain anything. Nitsunobue was taking a liking to speaking, for the first time in many centuries, with another dragon of some kind. Soon, Nitsunobue began to observe the area, scanning for somethnig to look at. Soon, he saw two birds playing with each other. He focused his attention on them, the ancient wyvern instantly becoming hypnotized by the event, like a child watching a sunrise...

Desrium's gaze lingered on the wyvern until the last moment where it left his sleeping companion before taking up his weapon and following after the Hueilin, still at a loss as to what-exactly- happened, but not thinking much of it anymore. "Is that the book Syria gave you?" Desrium asked as he situated himself a few feet from Septimus, about to practice his combat forms again.

"This...is getting old," Radamand suddenly, sighing as he turned around to face the entrance to the courtyard once again. A low thumping sound could be heard as two figures approached, one small, one large. A goblin, dressed in expensive, lavish clothing, walked into the courtyard alongside what seemed to be a metal golem.

"Alright, who the hell is in charge here?!" the goblin yelled as he entered, the golem looming over him as he did so. Radamand was already approaching them by this point.

"I am the caretaker of this shrine. What is your purpose here?" Radamand asked, glaring down at the goblin with fiery eyes. The little creature seemed to shrink back slightly as he stood in front of the giant, though he drew strength from the sentinel that stood behind him.

"I," the goblin began, his voice cracking. "I am Bolthammer, leader of the Steelcup Cartel. I was told to come here by this old lady who was also part bird or something. Maybe you know her?"

"I do not."

The goblin gulped audibly. "Well...uh...I'm here to fight the bad guy, or something. My army is camped out in the forest, and I see we aren't alone. Those damn lizard freaks nearly scared me out of my skin. I didn't sign up for this, by the way."

Radamand was not amused.

"I would not test this one," came the deep voice of the sentinel behind him. Radamand's eyes shifted to the golem as it spoke, narrowing immediately.

"You," the giant began, pointing at the sentinel, "are not to enter the temple. No demonic filth will taint this place on my watch." And with that, the giant strode away. Bolthammer breathed out deeply, and he and his bodyguard turned and descended back toward their camp in the forest beyond.

Mara was quick on the reflex, ducking to avoid the blade swing. She aimed her staff once more at Burzum, this time discharging a single fireball from the mouth of it. The fireball flew toward Burzum, then exploded in his face, sending the titan onto his back. Mara was now laughing, her eyes locked on the old being's face.

"Burzum, you are far too old and weak to lead your forces on anymore. It is time to allow for a new pair of rulers to step in and oust you... Me and Lord Akuro shall be in control from now on. How long have your orcs been deprived of human blood, Burzum? Should I become their new ruler, I will let them do and kill whatever they desire, instead of keeping them stuffed in a musty old castle!" She shouted as she slammed her staff into the ground, causing a wall of fire to spiral along the ground and right for Burzum...

Guame and Djinn looked up at Discord, then began to head out. "So be it. You may join us then, if you behave yourself, Chimera." The old beastman said as he headed out with his apprentice to go and gather up the forces of Germania...

"No promises," Discord replied with a chortle, floating behind them. He was curious to see just what this "war" was all about. War had a tendency to be especially fun for a being of pure chaos such as himself...

Septimus watched from over the brim of his book as Radamand spoke to the goblin and golem, soon returning to his reading, tilting his head towards Desrium as the question was asked. "No, it isn't. Though that's not a bad idea" he responded, eyeing the page number before closing it, reaching into the satchel, Syria's book entering his hand almost immediately, the Dragon-turned-Drow bringing it up and opening it, putting away his current book. as he opened the new one...

"I would appreciate you telling me if you find anything worth noting" Desrium said as he began to carve the air with the double blades, his movements so quick that droplets caught on the spear were sent flying in the directions of his swings and jabs.

"Define 'worth noting'. Most of what I'll probably find in here is information on ancient creatures that no longer exist, or peoples that have long since vanished" said Septimus as he read, having already covered 3 pages of the book...

"Anything that may relate to Jiier" Desrium responded after spinning on his metal heels and making a wide upwards swing with the spear, transitioning into a downwards stab seconds later.

Burzum managed to get to his feet fairly quickly, just as another wall of flame washed over him. The aging lord of Gorgoroth put his arm in front of his face, protecting himself from the intense flames. The titan growled, his orcs cheering for blood to be spilled. Burzum snarled, before he spoke, steppnig closer towards Mara, his breath raspy as he let out a flurry of coughs.

" *cough cough cough* A GOOD ruler knows when to use their troops, not have them slaughter when they please! You're too naive, too VENGEFUL I am in control, and you'll have to wrench control from my cold, dead hands!"

Burzum lunged forward once more, bringing his massive blade down towards Mara with surprising speed for an old, big lug of his size, swinging it downwards like an axe...

Nitsunobue continued watching the birds, seeing their graceful movements as they danced through the sky like performers on the stage. It calmed the horned brute's spirits to see nature at its finest..

The black and white gryphon gave a low, troubled warbling sound, the strange feeling increasing slightly into a light pattering, almost pulsating sensation. She raised a forefoot to paw awkwardly at the harness plate for a few moments before suddenly stopping as the sensation faded away as quickly as it had appeared. With another soft snort, she lowered her clawed foot and gave her wings a brief ruffle, glancing up and tilting her head at the skink, looking slightly unsettled...

Guessing it was just an uncomfortable itch, Tetto'eko moved forward to unhook the harness, hissing, "Easy girl. Let us get this harness of you, hm?"

"Hm. If I do, I'll let you know" said Septimus simply, before resuming his reading. As he reached the fifth page, he encountered a page on Manticores. "Desrium, could you do something less disruptive? I'm fairly sure Jiier would not take kindly to you leaping left and right while he is trying to rest" he asked gently as he looked toward his armoured friend...

"I have seen him sleep. He will not wake unless he wants to" Desrium said in response, though he complied with his friend's wishes and decided to take a break with his training. Desrium rested the spear against the pillar then went back to sitting next to the Drow, settling with looking on with him as he read.

The information on Manticores wasn't something particularly unheard of. Most of it decribed what they looked like, and their aggressive mannerisms, and the fact they tended to dwell in caverns, particularly those caught both between volcanic activity and swamps or other sources of water, and tended to frequent colder, stormier climates where people were more likely to enter their caves to escape the harsh weather outside. explanations into the nature of their attacks were thorough, telling of how they used their powerful claws to tear apart oxen and other large creatures, or their scorpion like tails to attack larger foes. lion-like jaws were the third and most often-encountered weapon in their arsenal, though they were extremely rare in recent times, possibly due to Dwarven mines breaking into their caverns, subsequently resulting in the Dwarves exterminating them. Septimus silently wondered whether any still existed, as this book itself was at least a few hundred years old...

"Roarscratcha" Desrium commented in Zuppo, one of the words used to describe the creatures of the far gone ages. "I remember, before the city fell. They were put on display occasionally by outsiders. I used to watch from afar" the Blood Omen explained, looking to the stone floor as if the recollection was something he had to pry from the deepest region of his memory.

"Interesting" said Septimus as he contemplated the fact. It seemed they were not untameable beasts that killed those who approached them or died in the process. Perhaps then, there was still hope for him to encounter one. With that, he moved on to page 7. Here was some interesting information. It wasn't Jiier, but it had some relevance to the present. In the book was a sketch of a horned wyvern, its wings morphed into forelimbs, a heavy hammer-like tail swirled around it's flank as it bellowed towards the reader, it's horns growing just over its brows, a thick crest shielding its neck. Below the image was the term Flightless Bull Wyvern. According to the book, they were an older species of wyvern that had taken on a more land-based lifestyle than its flying brethren. The males were supposedly solitary and highly territorial, eager to fight at the slightest provocation. Females, on the other hand, travelled in herds let by matriarch; often the oldest and most powerful female in the herd. They were also apparently omnivorous, feeding on both plant and animal life. One odd detail stood out however. According to the book, they were relatively common beasts. Septimus had not seen any before the one that had just arrived. While it was possible he was simply extremely unlucky, he doubted it. He made a mental note to inquire later, before resuming his reading...

All at once, the Blood Omen's mind unlocked, his memories once scattered to the far reaches of his mental realm flashing before his eyes, years upon years of experiences from his birth to his encounter with Zuppoland's mana well. These were not fragments of memories, things resurfacing by trickles at a time, but torrents of information. His thoughts were paired with sights, and for the first time since his reemergence, Desrium made sense of all that happened before. His roaming of the city state, scrounging for knowledge where he could, avoiding the fearful eyes and sustaining his magical hunger. All culminating in his descent to the heart of the island, where he attempted to feed on a power too great...

While it seemed that he was still with his scholarly companion, the armored being's consciousness was turned inwards, returning balance to the chaos represented by his past...

The birds soon flew away, finished playing their odd game. Nitsunobue sighed, before he got to his feet, shaking his form instinctively, before he decided to pace around a bit. There really wasn't too much to do around here, but he'll make do...

Evil red eyes peered out at the mighty Dhoulmagus, the tentacled horror's call summoning the many shadowy creatures that roamed in the forest. A voice rang out from the trees, calling out to Dhoulmagus with curiosity and slight annoyance.

"Why have you called out to us, creator?" The voices hissed out in unison. "It has been millenia since you have spoken to us. Why do you suddenly come now? What do we have that has caught your attention?"

"Nothing," DHoulmagus hissed. "I have come to ask of your eternal allegience."

A menacing chuckle erupted from the creatures.

"And what makes you think we would do that?"

Dhoulmagus hissed.

"Becuase... I have an offer..."

The tentacled horror's off hand soon became aglow with magical energies, somethnig happening, something that intrigued the shadowy beings of the trees...
