Icil smiled, walking into the village as if she lived there all her life. The succubus seemed to be almost in a trance from the inn's chants of conversation and laughter. She started to walk towards it before she even realized she had started moving...

The kestrel gryphon was simultaneously startled and delighted with the huge reaction she had caused, and bounded away several more paces before turning back and strutting around in circles a safe distance from the big hippogriff, head and tail held high, letting out a series of short, high chirps and looking quite satisfied with herself. Myrn had also clearly heard the commotion, the black and white gryphon appearing from around another structure, looking around in confusion for a moment, a thin gray rat tail swinging from her beak, which she quickly snapped up and swallowed...

Septimus watched, again taking in every detail of the actions, although the gripping position seemed somewhat awkward. He could remember Desrium's own blade having a grip that allowed it to be held comfortably with two hands. This one however seemed somewhat small. Still, the fact Desrium could apply his own two handed style to a sword that seemed designed more for one handed combat was a testament to his ability and comfort with a blade. Even if Septimus doubted his blade could effectively be used in a true two-handed sword style, the lesson learned would be of use in the future...

Taking the blade, Septimus put some distance between himself and Desrium, making sure he had the space. raising his grip so one hand was thoroughly pressed against the hand-guard, he made room for his second hand, before taking a position, shifting his footing into one that he felt was stable, the blade held diagonally in front of him, before raising, as if parrying an incoming strike, twisting the blade, upwards in an inverted U shape, bringing it down diagonally against the prospective opponents neck, the movement given with sufficient force that a real opponent would likely suffer a grievous wound, the blade swinging diagonally across as Septimus took the momentum of the swing to spin, the blade swinging out horizontally with such force it'd be sufficient to behead a man, ending the position in a half-crouch, the sword pointing forward, ready for a second swing, before rising and pointing the blade's grip towards Desrium, surprised with how smoothly that went considering his thoughts on its effectiveness with this particular sword. It turned out being less infeasible than he had suspected, and had noticeably more force in each swing than the previous style, though it came at the price of mobility...

Thalion was nowhere near as amused as Sulrana seemed to be, the Hippogriff's gaze shooting figurative arrows at the kestrel, infuriated that she had made a fool of him, not only in the eyes of the griffin hawk which now sat happily in the tree above, but in the eyes of the master he had so recently lost the favour of...

Desrium did not take the sword this time, instead he gently pushed back on the grip so that the tip of the sword pointed at the ground in Septimus' hand. "I have taught you the basics. It is up to you to find your own way, though from what I've seen, that will not be hard for you, friend" the armored being said. "Your potential extends beyond just magic" he added as he stepped around the Hueilin shapeshifter, lifting the Lance of the Justicar from the stone.

Tetto'eko paused for a moment, then looked back at Andruil. "Of course," he hissed, "the question remains: how do we defeat a god, without a god to help us?"

"Uh, perhaps we haven't met," Discord replied. "Do I look like the type of creature who will sit around and WAIT?"

Septimus's brows arched in surprise. That was it? The rest was just improvisation? "Thank you" he said simply, not wanting to sound ungrateful, feeling somewhat proud he had managed to achieve the standards Desrium expected in just one attempt. Still, he decided relying on a single source would be irresponsible of him. Sheathing his sword, he moved a distance from both Jiier and the Blood Omen, deciding it was time he paid the Hukkamil-Birran a visit. He sensed he had come close to their camp during his trek through the forest earlier, though he hadn't entered it at the time. Perhaps now he had a reason to. With their position being not too far from the shrine itself, he decided it would probably be safe to cross between the two so long as he was quick and wary...

"I'm not sure. I don't intend to waste my time slitting my wrists and dancing around a fire naked in the moonlight singing praises, though. Unless of course you happen to have one stuffed up those great baggy sleeves of yours?" responded Andruil with a smirk...

The voice was quite obviously telling a story of some sort, and it seemed as though the whole building was following along. Icil was drawn to it.

"When the boy saw what his father had become, and how great he was," the voice spoke in a most hypnotic manner, "He became quite jealous. He sought that power. And so he took up his father's blade... Soul Edge... and-"

"I assure you, Andruil," Tetto'eko hissed. "You would not be a very good sacrifice to appease the Old Ones." Despite his attempt to look serious, his face quickly betrayed a slightly goofy smile...

Shortly after concluding with Septimus, Desrium walked over to Jiier. His inactivity was quite unlike him, unless he was meditating. "Is something the matter?" He asked as he came up along the maned dragon's side.

"No...just a very unnerving place," Jiier growled, staring out at the encroaching shadows, which seemed noticeably closer than even a few hours ago. The maned dragon could feel the tragic history that surrounded the shrine and the forest it dwelt within.

"It is. I find it easier to deal with the spirits by thinking about what will happen if we fail to defeat the Traitor. We will end up like them, or worse. I wonder what being unmade will be like. I have been threatened with it many times" Desrium replied thoughtfully, looking out in the leafy horizon.

"Sometimes I worry about you," Jiier growled with a smirk, finding amusement in the extremely morbid yet casual view of the Blood Omen.

"It is better to worry about me than what faces us, so continue to do so" the armored being replied, looking away from the forest and the shadows that laid beyond to his spear. "Shall we continue training in the time that we have left?" he asked.

"We can try," Jiier responded as he was engulfed in light, his form shrinking back down to his simian shape. The maned dragon was not completely recovered from his earlier experience, but he was not about to waste the entire day resting.

Desrium nodded and stepped back from Jiier, striking a combat stance with his spear raised.

Jiier straightened his arm, the staff gradually sliding out from his sleeve, which he took in both hands. A moment after, the simian swung the staff rapidly in his hands, turning and taking a step forward, bringing the staff down at Desrium as he faced the Blood Omen once more.

Desrium blocked the blow by holding the spear up and straight across, the staff crashing loudly against the gold and silver rod. Twisting out from underneath, Desrium made a broad sweep with the spear at Jiier's legs.

Putting his weight onto the staff completely, Jiier pole vaulted over the Blood Omen, pushing the spear to the ground in the process. After a short air time, the simian landed on Desrium's shoulders, holding the staff up with one hand above his head.

Raising the spear over his shoulders, Desrium jabbed the blunt end of the weapon back into Jiier's head, much like how the ape jabbed him with his staff when the two first met.

After a short pause to regain focus, Jiier threw his staff high into the air and pushed off from Desrium's shoulders, now hand-standing on them. Pushing off from them completely, the simian arched his back to avoid the outstretched spear, wrapping his prehensile tail around the weapon as he fell, pulling it down with him as he pulled on it to bring him back to Desrium's legs. Jiier released the spear and dove behind the Blood Omen, rolling swiftly as he reached the full length of the dive, putting distance between himself and Desrium.
