Thoroughly irritated by the pest, Xanthe gave a low snarl and picked up the compy by its mutilated tail. He carried it over to Blade, Cirrus, and Alira, bending down and dropping it at just the right height to stun the tiny creature rather than kill it. Cirrus sniffed curiously at it, and made a brave nip at its ankle, his small, needle-sharp teeth piercing flesh and securing a firm grip. Alira was more cautious, but curiosity and excitement made her inch closer to the now-trapped compy.

Steeltalon felt a shudder ripple through her body as Riptide met his violent end. She closed her eyes as if to block out the reality, but the reek of blood and death filled the cave; it was thick enough that she almost choked on it. Somehow managing to wriggle around in the crevasse, she nudged Silver forward, toward the other end and away from the horrific scene. The dazed hatchling stumbled along, bumping into the rock on either side as if she barely knew what she was doing; her dark blue eyes were glazed with shock. It was only then that Steeltalon realized what she was doing and paused, watching the tiny creature. How could she take care of a hatchling? She had no experience with motherhood - her memories of her own mother were hazy. She remembered a feeling of security when she saw her mother, and the anticipation of food...but she really didn't know what else there was to it. With a sudden sinking feeling, Steeltalon remembered something else - she barely managed to keep herself alive up to now. A lone raptor relied mostly on luck to catch a meal, and there was always the chance of missing - or losing the kill to another predator. How could she hope to keep Silver fed, too? It was a problem that would need solving, but there was no time to figure it out now. With a soft sigh, she picked Silver up and carried her the rest of the way, emerging, blinking, into the light.

Blade watched eagerly as the Compy was dropped between him and his comrades, a hungry looking smirk decorating his expression as he eyed the smaller saurian. He looked up at the others, chirping a 'Lets play' before hopping to the side, making sure he was evenly spaced in relation to Cirrus and Alira, so there was no clear escape route for the smaller dinosaur...

Crusher looked down at the two Raptors as they emerged, sighing in relief. "I was worried it might have hurt you too" he growled, his tone obviously still laced with worry. "Better get running before they realise you're gone"...

Pipsqueak recovered from his stun, finding himself in the Allosaurus nest this time. He then tried to nip at one of the chicks' arms, trying to use his hypnotic venom to his advantage. The compy didn't like this at all. He was a dinosaur, not a plaything!

"Cut it out!" he chirped frantically, flailing like a fish out of water...

Shade bellowed and let go of the Ouranosaur's ankle, soon afterwards slamming her jaws onto the dinosaur's back, nearly ripping the spine to shreds, blood flying into her mouth and across her fanged maw, mutilating the hadrosaur's back. The Ouranosaurus kicked wildly, giving Shade a few mediocre bruises at the very most as it tried to escape. It seemed as if the more the animal attempted to be free, the more its back was ripped apart...

Mars grunted as he walked towards the scent, his pack following him...

Thorn Jaw continued following the Stokesosaurs scent trail, a primal anger rising within him. I escape my families murderer, and end up having to deal with predators in every patch of forest! Thorn Jaw thinks his cautious nature slipping for the briefest of moments, his jaws chopping together making a "popping" sound. His warning was echoing through the forest, if the Stokesosaurs are foolish they will stay. But if they are smart they will leave his neck of the woods. Passing under a large tree Thorn Jaw rushed onward his newly found territory would not be taken from him easily...

Suddenly, a young Dilophosaurus hooted and hissed wildly, running as if there was a stampede of angry Triceratops bulls behind him, giving chase. Mars and his pack knew this wouldn't satisfy them for even a few hours, but it would make an excellent snack. They were already at chase, dashing after the Jurassic carnivore as they snapped furiously. The Dilo ran across Thorn Jaw's path, screaming and hissing as its frills spread apart...

The Ouranosaurus honked its last as it fell onto its side. It tried to get up, but it could barely even move its legs at this point. Shade put her foot onto the hadrosaur's flank and bit into its neck with a mighty crunch. She raised her head, holding a mutilated hunk of muscle in her jaws. She swallowed the bit of meat and grabbed the Ouranosaur by its head, dragging the carcass slowly. The scent of blood; both hers and her kill's; filled the air around them...

Encouraged by Blade's playful attitude, Alira gave a squeak and lunged forward, headbutting the compy onto its side. Cirrus's grip on its leg wrenched the muscles badly as the little dinosaur fell and the limb twisted at an odd angle, leaving it virtually unable to walk fast - running was certainly beyond it now. Xanthe settled beside his mate to watch, satistfaction touching his features.

"Right," Steeltalon growled, nodding. She hurt just about everywhere, especially her head, but she managed to keep walking, the frightened hatchling held carefully in her claws. "I don't know if they'd believe anything survived that," she went on tiredly, "but better safe than sorry, yeah?"

Pipsqueak hissed and nipped at Cirrus's nose angrily, the pain driving him into a frenzy of biting and clawing. The compy didn't like this at all. Suddenly, he could hear something: the squawks of an oviraptor pair. The egg-stealing dinosaurs could be heard from a mile away at this rate. Pipsqueak suddenly had an idea...

Brute decided to find a new territory; this place grew with bore almost every day. Besides, he was running out of food from there, and he was quite hungry. The Anky stepped out of the foliage, walking into the grasslands before him, which happened to be where Shade resided at the moment...

Thorn Jaw was startled by the younger and smaller Dilophosaur, his attention almost solely on the Stokesosaurs scent trail he had been unaware of another threat. Growling the Ceratosaur snapped at the fleeing theropod, missing its frilled head by inches. Instead of giving chase Thorn Jaw rushed forward the scent of Stokesosaurs growing stronger...

"Oooh, bravo. Nicely done" taunted Fatalis on a branch a few dozen feet from where the Shade now stood. "Though, to be honest, that was the most clumsy kill I can remember seeing in a while" he added, as he caught sight of the Ankylosaur in the distance...

Blade suddenly tackled the small procompsognathus, his bony head crests smacking firmly into the smaller dinosaur's head, undoubtedly dazing it, before hopping back, growling lightly as he hopped back and forth, the entire thing little more than a game to him. A short distance away, Aurora watched over the chicks, ears focused on the surroundings. She had heard the Oviraptors, and was more than prepared to tear them apart if they approached. Even though they were generally insectivorous, they supplemented their diets with small reptiles and occasionally hatchlings, or, in rare cases, eggs if the opportunity arose. She had no intention of letting them come near the nest, even though that would be a suicidal move against such a sizable pack. With at least a half dozen adults and twice that in sub adults, this pack was a deadly place to go for a meal. Most predators, even creatures like Tyrannosaurs, avoided packs of Allosaurs. Their speed and agility were dangerous on their own, but when combined with numbers, they were a deadly foe to cross...

Crusher nodded, moving with the Raptor, in a sense escorting her away from the area. He learned the value of friends early in life, and it was not in his nature to abandon them when they were vulnerable. He would guard Steeltalon with his life until she was safe...

"Wih yoh leeff meh aloh?" Shade implied in an annoyed tone, trying to say "Will you leave me alone" with a full mouth.. She let go of the dead animal's head, looking at the tree of which the raptor sat in. She looked over at the Anky in the distance, her eyes clearly showing that she didn't want anyone to bother her.

"See that Ankylosaurus over there? He looks like he's into a conversation with a little annoying pest like you. Go talk to him." she growled, picking up the Ouranosaur by the neck this time, continuing to drag it...

The Stokesosaurus pack burst into full speed after the dual-crested animal, nearly trampling Thorn Jaw in the process. They slammed through seemingly anything in their path as if they were a locomotive, kicking up dust and shredding leaves to bits in front of them. The Dilophosaurus continued screaming and hissing as it tossed its head back alarmingly, also scaring the Dryosaurs at the same time. It was a chaotic frenzy of Jurassic dinosaurs...

Pipsqueak gave up. He couldn't escape. He turned his head to Aurora and looked at her with a regretful look...

Thorn Jaw skidded to a halt, his toe claws digging into the soft jungle ground. Growling Thorn Jaw rushes forward his head downward, connecting with one of the Stokesosaurs knocking it into a tree. Thorn Jaw is cautious by nature but even he will not allow himself to be overwhelmed by a group of smaller carnivores. Roaring Thorn Jaw's territorial rage could be heard throughout the forest. Breathing heavily through his nostrils Thorn Jaw charges forward his maw opened wide, his serrated-white fangs exposed. Thorn Jaw continues after the fleeing Stokesosaurs fully prepared to kill each and every last one of them...

A Stokesosaurus suddenly turned around and slammed its jaws into the Ceratosaur's ankle with a firm grip, trying to flip the carnivore over. A larger Stokesosaur, obviously a female, snapped at Thorn Jaw's head and neck, leaving a few minor scratches on the predator's lower jaw and throat. The Dilophosaur and Dryosaurs had left by now, Mars holding the crested creature's corpse in his jaws. He noticed that two of his pack members had found a larger, more challenging meal...

Thorn Jaw growled in annoyance using his superior size to his advantage, ripping his large head away from the female Stokesosaur. With a roar the Ceratosaur retaliates biting the female at the base of the neck intending on decapitating her. While grappling with the female Stokesosaur Thorn Jaw kicked the one latched to his ankle sending it into a stand of low lying brush. Thorn Jaw could feel this battle would be hard fought, he had already sustained some minor injuries by the sudden attack from the pack of Stokesosaurs. Continuing his attack Thorn Jaw growls deeply his serrated teeth digging deeper into the female Stokesosaurs neck...

Mars leaped at Thorn Jaw, his toothy maw slamming into the Ceratosaur's back as he slashed at the dinosaur's flank. Bear roared in fury as she attacked the tail of the beast, her jaws easily ripping it open if not shattering a few vertebrae. Djinn barked at the Ceratosaurus as he started to charge. The Stokesosaurus biting Thorn Jaw's ankle finally let go, leaving a bloody mess of broken teeth and blood...

Thorn Jaw roared in primal fury, shaking Mars off his back! With a snarl he then clamped down on Bears forearm! With a sudden and quick strike the Ceratosaur felt bones creak under the weight of his impressive bite! Letting go quickly Thorn Jaw positioned himself for a defensive fight! The Stokesosaurs may out number him but he out guns them! Standing with his back against a large tree Thorn Jaw watches his teeth covered in Stokesosaur blood! Roaring loudly the spotted Ceratosaur is ready to make his stand...

Thorn Jaw was surrounded by the ravenous pack of hungry Tyrannosaurids, who would eat pretty much anything that bled at the moment. Djinn charged from the back of the dinosaur, tooth meeting muscle with a loud chomp. The Stokesosaurus had a vice-like grip, pulling back on the same ankle that the other male had bitten earlier.

They were trying to knock him over.

The taste of blood had riled up almost all of the pack, and had driven them into a rabies-like frenzy of hunger. Bear backed away, preparing to charge, while the rest of the pack taunted the Ceratosaurus with fake lunges and snaps.

Thorn Jaw his cautious nature returning, though they were smaller than him Thorn Jaw knew they had the numbers. Growling Thorn Jaw once more kicked the Stokesosaur that had latched on to his leg hearing the telltale signs of broken teeth or a broken jaw! Growling deeply Thorn Jaw reviews his options. He could fight it out but the risk was very high of failing, maybe if he singled out the pack leader he could maul it and send the pack into turmoil. But it seemed to risky. Thorn Jaw thought of other options even though his eyes never left the Stokesosaurs, he could see that the pack was trying to trip him and devour him but he was backed up against a tree, his vulnerable rear protected.

Growling as another Stokesosaur mocked lunged Thorn Jaw knew they were trying to distract him. Searching the pack Thorn Jaw looked carefully for the alpha pair, suddenly he spots her. She was preoccupied looking for an opening to notice his eyes on her. Thorn Jaw knew his only chance was to strike out and deal a mortal wound on one of the leading pair they would be to distracted to stop him. Thorn Jaw had convinced himself that retreat was the safest bet but he needed a distraction.

Rushing out at full speed Thorn Jaw struck his jaws quickly opening and closing on Bear's shoulder. The sudden and violent strike left a nasty and ragged wound on Bears shoulder. And with that Thorn Jaw was off rushing through the forest at top speed looking for a safe place to escape...

Mars was enraged. No Ceratosaur would get away with wounding his mate! The entire pack chased after the Ceratosaurus, a male managing to bite the tip of his tail which snapped the very last two vertebrae off of the beast's body as blood poured to the ground. Now it would be easy to track him down. Mars called for help, which summoned two more Stokesosaurs from the pack to help; two females. Djinn couldn't use his jaw at the moment, but he could kick, pounce, or claw if he could get a good chance to attack.

"You're nothing to us but lunch that plays hard-to-get!" Mars roared at Thorn Jaw, trying to size him down a bit. "When we're done with you, you shall be a bloody hunk of compy food!"

The Ceratosaurus could feel marshy terrain under his feet. He was now in the swamp...

Thorn Jaw chose his footing carefully, being in a swamp he knew one wrong move could leave him with broken legs. He continued on at a good pace still outrunning and outmaneuvering the Stokesosaurs. Before he had escaped the blood thirsty pack Thorn Jaw received a nasty wound on his tail leaving the last two vertebrates missing. Thorn Jaw was growing wary and nervous now that he was bleeding not only could the Stokesosaurs track him but any predator that wanted a free meal could find him. Growling at his irrational approach to the situation the Ceratosaurs continues on through the marsh feeling the wet, damp earth sink within each stride of his powerful legs...

Cirrus released his grip on the fallen compy and pounced, landing on its side. His nose was bloodied from the creature's bites - with a growl he lunged down and sank his teeth into the compy's shoulder, jerking his head a bit as if to say 'You bite me, i'll bite back'. Alira, growing bolder, latched onto one of the compy's arms and gave an experimental tug, testing her own strength. Savarna turned her head toward the direction the screeches were coming from, curling her upper lip to show her teeth. She had good reason to hate Oviraptors. They had raised her nest before - back when the pack was still small, and there were precious few members that could be spared to guard the nests. The sentry had been patrolling the other side of the nest when a gang of the oportunists struck. The Oviraptors had been chased off, or killed, but not before making a snack of one of Savarna's clutch. If these ones came too close, they'd be a meal themselves.

Every muscle in her body screaming at her to rest, Steeltalon limped onward in what she thought was the direction of home. Every now and then she paused, looking distinctly unsteady on her feet, before stubbornly continuing on.
