The Carnotaur ripped chunks of the Kentrosaur quickly, but at the same time precisely. Targeting all of the valuable parts of the small Stegosaurid, The liver had already been consumed in one bite in fact now he was taking apart the inside of the rib cage swallowing a small chunk of the Kentrosaur's muscle covering the stomach. Scar Tooth knew other predators would arrive soon, but he was not worried. The largest problems he would face in this remote part of the island were other Carnotaurs like himself, and he has already proven to them that he is the largest and most powerful of the four that have over lapping territories within his own. Scar Tooth normally would dispatch other predators that would steal prey from him. But the Four Carnotaurs in his territory are different, only a small portion of each of there territories overlap with his taking up no more than mile of space each. Scar Tooth also recalls confrontations with two of them, the battles were short and always ended in Scar Toothed favor. The Carnotaur that lives north of him was taught a valuable lesson in tangling with a larger foe, Scar Tooth's battle was not mean't for the kill but even still the smaller Carnotaur paid by loosing an eye and a horn. Scar Tooth grinned recalling the savagery he had caused in his expansive territory. Recalling his battles another memory came from the depths of his mind, growling in mental frustration Scar Tooth recalled what had been troubling him. The Raptors! They were never a problem before but now I'm not sure, they are more prone to defend their kills or themselves. What is going on with these puny pack hunters? Why are they more aggressive? Scar Tooth thinks taking another chunk of flesh out of the Kentrosaur's open body cavity...

Thorn Jaw awakened groggy and thirsty, his mind still cloudy from his nap. Standing to his full height, the Ceratosaur trots towards the waiting river his eyes fully open now. Reaching the river in moments Thorn Jaw soon takes his first drink in what seems like ages, savoring the cool liquid with each mouthful. Suddenly the outcast Ceratosaur hears a bellow of a large herbivore. Then another bellow was heard, followed by another Thorn Jaw stooped his drinking and stood to his full height alarmed and slightly frightened, it had been a long time since he had heard Brachiosaurs up close. At the realization that this was a home to such large prey Thorn Jaw knew he would have to find a way to feed his ever growing hunger. Growling Thorn Jaw sets out to find what other prey sources inhabit his new territory. Snarling, Thorn Jaw hopes he can hold onto this one...

The Stokesosaurs had grown thirsty. They would return to the swamp...

Paradox continued to look for more satisfying food, mostly the Kentrosaurs of the swamp...

Ulysses was unprepared for what was going to come to his land. Sitting down, the Therizinosaurus scratched the back of his feathered neck...

"Very few things more dangerous than me would consider this worth the effort" grunted the Giga lowly as he fed off the kill. "You'd best avoid killing more than you can eat in the future. It'll put you in very undesirable circumstances....You were lucky this one didn't crush you or severely wound you. Had it not been so ill it could barely walk, you would likely have left from here hungry and with several broken bones, if you left at all" snarled Rook warningly before resuming his feeding...

"So that makes four" growled Crusher bitterly as he walked, before glancing up at the Raptor. "Be thankful you don't share our fates. To have grown old enough to become close to your family, then lose everything you have ever known and be unable to do anything to stop it...It's a fate many would consider worse than death" snarled the Tyrannosaur, a golden yellow eye staring at him with the faintest hint of anger, the Rex not appreciating the off-handedness with which the Raptor spoke of the fate that cheated him and several of his friends from a normal life...

"I am fully aware of that. It's just that I wasn't expecting a Giga to show up, that's all. I'll let you eat. I'm headed back to the swamp. Farewell." Shade growled, turning to the direction of the swamp...

The Stokesosaurs arrived at the swamp, soon meeting with Ulysses.

"I thought I told you to never come back." Ulysses grumbled as he ruffled his feathers.

"You did, but did you really think we'd listen to a gluttonous lummox like you?" Mars snarled back as his pack started to drink from a nearby pond.

"It is you that is the lummox, especially for coming back here. Do you realize how many things can kill you here?"

"That's why I have a pack, you stupid slob."

"'Stupid' is not the word I would be using if I lost something as large as a Ceratosaurus."

"Look, it was foggy, okay? We would kill that stupid thing if it were more clear."

"Tell that to your brother's jaw."

Mars snarled at the Therizinosaurus. He was getting quite annoyed with the larger dinosaur, and he did not want to leave the swamp...

Aircrest, not sure whether or not he should feel guilty about his statement or burst into laughter, replied with a smile "You're right. You should be glad that you knew your family at all" At the same time, he thought angrily; "Because I sure as hell didn't know mine", the grim sentiment marring the green raptor's expression with a glare. With that he looked straight ahead into the tangle of branches.

Scar Tooth gorged on the Kentrosaur carcass, taking in as much nutrients as he could. Finishing the Carnotaur heads off into the forest his hunger sated, however his thirst was dire. Setting off deeper into the thick jungle searching for a water source. Trudging through the forest Scar Tooth seems to be almost invisible his large body hidden with his camouflage skin and the surrounding forest. the large Carnotaur with his near invisibility knew the forest better than most wandering carnivores, for he is a permanent resident. Ever since Scar Tooth was young his home was the Interior of Isla Sorna, prey was bountiful although quite small in the territory he resides in. It isn't a problem for the Carnotaur, not at all for he is an expert hunter nearly successful at whatever he hunts. But hunting is not his focus at the moment, water is. With a deep breath the large Carnotaur scents a water source close by. Turning in the scents direction Scar Tooth follows a worn game trail towards the body of water he is in search of...

Thorn Jaw crept through the low-lying brush with delicate steps not wanting to disturb or frighten his future prey away. Taking another quiet step forward the Ceratosaur sticks his head through a tangle of thick brush staring at a suitable food source. Across the river quenching their thirst is a small herd of Camarasaurus, the giants were to large for him to take on alone but if he ever found a mate he may be able to take down a wounded or sick adult. Sadly, Thorn Jaw was alone.
Searching the herd with his predatory eyes Thorn Jaw looks for young ones, soon spotting a five or six small enough for him to kill. Growling deeply but also lowly, Thorn Jaw slinks off catching a new scent that was interesting to his senses...

"Sometimes I wish I didn't. It would free me from the pain of watching them get torn apart in front of me" growled Crusher lowly, finally falling silent. He picked up something in the Raptor's tone when he spoke, and the change in his expression showed. We're not that different afterall he thought amusedly...

As the Compy was finally split apart, Blade found himself with the legs and tail of the animal, the youngster eagerly digging into the meal, cheerful and excited as if he had just found a dragonfly to chase, his tail whipping and flailing behind him excitedly as he tore into the kill, unaware his mother was watching amusedly a few feet away. Barely two days old and he's already got his first kill she thought proudly...

"That is...pretty stupid of you, actually" Aircrest barked without looking at the Tyrannosaur. "You might have had them taken from you but your parents took care of you, right? Stood by you, fed you, taught you? If they hadn't you would have been dead a long time ago" Aircrest snarled. Even with such a devastating past, the juvenile was far more fortunate than himself, and yet here he was wishing for something even worse, a life like the one Aircrest endured.

Silver gave a soft whimper as the green raptor spoke. "It was horrible," she squeaked at him, raising her head as some well of inner courage reached the surface. "There was s-so much blood...none of them were left! You don't know what that's l-like....y-you don't know...." She trailed off, head drooping, tiny muscular tremors racking her body as she fought to swallow a thin, grief-stricken wail. Steeltalon looked from the hatchling to Aircrest and growled softly, "Knowing what could have been if Riptide hadn't murdered my family....knowing what I lost that day....the pain is worse than any physical wound I could ever receive....and not a day goes by that I don't think of their faces and wish they were still here."

The search for a suitable water source ended quickly for the near invisible Carnotaur. As Scar Tooth stands before a small pond riddled with fallen logs and assortment of different plant matter flowing through its near stagnant liquid, the Carnotaur dips his body so he may drink. Taking large mouthfuls of water Scar Tooth soon feels his thirst disappear replaced by an urge to patrol. Returning to his full height, the agile and camouflaged carnivore jogs off to run his rounds...

Thorn Jaws olfactory receptors lead him to a small open field a few hundred meters away from the large flowing river. Standing behind a stand of low lying trees the Ceratosaurus watches a species he never would dream of attacking. Grazing within the small field was a large herd of Triceratops. The three horned giants were to much for him to tackle, Thorn Jaw wouldn't even try for a youngling his fear for these beasts outweighing any form of hunger he could comprehend. Thorn Jaw in his travels has scavenged the kills of larger carnivores which included Triceratops carcasses, even still he was hesitant to approach the one herbivore that he was truly terrified of. walking off, careful not to disturb the three horned grazers, Thorn Jaw continues on his way to unraveling his territory...

"Many lessons are learned through trial and error. There are dozens of creatures out there that prove that. Look at Ripper. He's more skilled than any Raptor I've ever seen, and he had no parents to teach him. No lesson, no matter how important, justifies the pain of reliving my family's destruction every time I close my eyes. No one who hasn't experienced it can assume to know how it feels. Don't try to suggest that never knowing your family is a worse fate than watching everything you valued in your then-small, enclosed existence being destroyed. The sight of a father, the very embodiment of your family's strength, as his throat was torn out, the very energy of life itself fading from his eyes, the gurgling, the gasping as he tries to reach out to his family before he dies, the misery in those eyes as he realises he's failed them. Older brothers whose cheer enlightened the family, who you thought would never get hurt, being literally ripped limb from limb by Spinosaurs. You can imply all you like that living without a family is worse...But in the end, if you never had a family, you never had to know how it felt to see it destroyed and be powerless to stop it" growled Crusher lowly, falling silent as he walked on, deciding to end the conversation, knowing it was putting his companions through as much pain as he himself felt...

Rook ignored the Carcha as it departed, continuing to eat till he had had his fill, before eventually departing, deciding to leave the area before the smell of blood and decay became strong enough to lure in others...

Aircrest had no reply, seeing how much distress the others were in. He truly had no idea why they were so upset however. All he ever knew was the constant struggle against death. The fact they remained when all others did not meant something, but clearly they did not think so- or if they did- did not care. The Tyrannosaur's mention of Ripper also did much to silence him. Ripper was a creature who took refuge in stealth and patience, stalking from a distance or laying in wait just off to one's side. The fact he had common roots with the elder was...disturbing to say the least.

Shade looked back once more at the Giga, then turning her head back in front of herself as she walked off towards her marshy homeland...

"What could you possibly do to drive us away? You're basically a giant potbellied fat turkey." Mars snarled, Djinn soon joining his side with growl.

"Come closer and I'll show you what I can do." Ulysses grunted in a challenging state. Mars snorted at the fact that a large herbivore was challenging him. However, Djinn took this to another level as he rushed at the large herbivore.

"You will not challenge my brother, fool!" Djinn snarled as he lunged at the Therizinosaurus, only to raked in the head by a trio of large claws, sending him tumbling to the left of Mars and Ulysses, barely breathing from the impact...

Thorn Jaw after sometime returned to the river after making a series of scent marks within his new territory. He also completed his observations of the prey sources in and around the river, what he found made him optimistic and also cautious. The prey he found suitable to hunt were mainly small. Dryosaurus were not as bountiful in the forest but were common enough so that he could hunt them. Another prey source that had excited his hunting instincts, Corythosaurs! The hadrosaurs were large but still in his prey range. What disturbed him though on his trek through the unfamiliar jungle had been the frequent Velociraptor scent markers. He has dealt with the smaller carnivores in the past but their intelligence, and persistent nature has caused them to be quite a challenge for the large Ceratosaur. However, Thorn Jaw does not respect them for their persistent nature or their intelligence, no the Jurassic carnivore despises them for it. It was these despicable creatures that stole his father from him. Growling deeply at the memories he had suppressed for two years, Thorn Jaw walks back to the river keeping his head on a swivel and trying to forget the painful past...

Scar Tooth hadn't completely forgotten his encounter with the foreign Abelisaur, growling the Carnotaur follows the intruders scent trail from where he had killed the puny raptor. If there was one thing Scar Tooth hated it was a threat to his territory. Continuing after the threat Scar Tooth decided to warn the intruder and thief of his arrival. A flock of birds jumps into the sky at the intensity of the Carnotaurs roar, Scar Tooth was angry and ready for a fight. Following the scent trail the near invisible ruler of this jungle heads off to solidify his rule...

Several minutes passed in silence before the scent of a kill reached Crusher's sensitive nose, an awkward grumble erupted between the Raptors in response, Crusher looking down at his own stomach with a low snarl. He was starving. "Anyone up for a meal? If I leave it any longer I might start eating the bark off the trees we pass" he growled as he shifted his gaze between Aircrest and Steeltalon...

"Your kind would truly eat anything. Knowing adult Tyrannosaurs, you could probably pull it off without getting sick to the stomach" Aircrest growled, purposely not answering the question. His own body beckoned him to feed and he planned to oblige, but that didn't mean he'd be above patronizing Crusher while pursuing the same goal.

Steeltalon lifted her muzzle, picking up the scent of freshly spilled blood. Some other predator had made a kill nearby, and recently too. Her mouth watered and her own stomach took the opportunity to remind her that she hadn't had a really filling meal in some time. "I'd be stupid to pass it up," she replied. Silver's little head popped up, hope written all over her expression.

"What can I say," responded Crusher with a smirk as he eyed the Raptor. "We're built to endure" he growled as he followed his nose, changing course, heading towards the source of the bloody scent. At most, it had been dead half an hour. He doubted it was even that long. His nose was still overwhelmed by the smell of the Raptors earlier, and he had trouble identifying what else there was to know about the kill...

"Built to digest" Aircrest thought, abruptly leaping higher into the treetops, quickly disappearing into the canopy. From above, the scent trails were clearer. The odor of the slain mutants barely registered on the passing air currents that high up. In time that would change, and just as he and the others were drawn to the site of a kill, many would be drawn to the cave.

Djinn awoke from his unconsciousness. Blinking a few times, the Stokesosaurus looked at his surroundings, letting out a small whimper. His brother, along with his pack and the Therizinosaur that had slapped him, were nowhere to be to be seen. The carnivore felt a state of worrisome loneliness fill him. He had been left by his pack to die. Djinn could feel a searing pain to his face, and he noticed that he had been lying in a pool of blood and saliva when he was unconscious. Rolling onto his stomach and pushing himself up with his legs, the reddish creature felt like something to him was... missing. He weakly lumbered to the pond, his eyes glaring into the water. Slowly, the horrific explanation to his face's pain was revealed.

Part of his upper left lip was missing.

Suddenly, Djinn could hear the footsteps of a large carnivore. He quickly turned his head to face a female Carcha, trying to escape the swamp at first glance of the carnivore. Not noticing the rest of his surroundings, Djinn stepped into a seemingly deep mud puddle...
