As Cyris pulled the mace over her head, she suddenly stopped for a moment. She felt a cold feeling dashing through her veins, and it was growing slowly...

Icil patted Kard's back in an attempt to comfort him.

"It's okay, Kard- wait, you had a fear about Rattlebones earlier, correct? Do you have past memories of... undead?"

Spike noticed Jerrin and swooped down toward the lycan, his wing's not making a sound except for a light fluttering that sounded like a bat's wing's. "Alright, do you think that this is it?" the black Argonian hissed lowly

Charging at the Blood Omen with a roar, the doppelganger twisted out of the way as the spear jabbed beside its waist, bringing the jagged blade down at the spear's midsection, causing its point to drive into the ground. Following up with its attack, the shadowy Desrium swung its blade up along the spear toward the real Desrium's helm.

One stray bolt struck Septimus square in the chest, hurling the dragon backward as a result. The familiar form of his father emerged from the dark, his head engulfed in shadowy flame, though his manic grin could still be seen within.

Soon, the massive glaring eyes loomed over Arashi. With each apparent movement of the immortal, the ground shook, and soon the massive pointed legs of the Traitor God were visible even in the dark, slicing into the cliff side. "You have failed, worm," Eredar hissed with sadistic satisfaction, his tone never betraying the nature of the illusion that now engulfed Arashi.

Jerrin took a look down the twisting cavern that was the Vampire Coven inhaling the cave air to make sure he was right. Sure enough the foul stench of death loomed up the deep crevice. Growling, Jerrin turned back to the Argonian.
"Yes I am sure this is where they are. Come we must find them before they are aware of our presence." Jerrin snarled disappearing into the dark cave his eyesight easily adjusting to the lack of light. He was hoping this Coven would hold Claudius but at the moment he was not very sure. Stalking his way down deeper into the cave, Jerrin searched with wary eyes the hunt had began...

Desrium changed his grip on the spear, tilting it further so that the blade collided with the gold and silver rod on its upswing. The metal clashing with none to hear the sound. Disengaging with a twist of his body, the armored being raised the Lance of the Justicar up to chest height before jabbing into the doppelganger's side...

Septimus roared out into the dark as he plummeted, having been blown out of the sky by the force of the blast, before regaining control, snarling lowly as he looked up at the beast that hovered before him. His father's figure hovering in the darkness chilled him, the sick, malevolent grin looking very out of place on the older wyrm's face. What struck him most however, were the black flames engulfing his head, and the aura emanating from the Dragon's body. It was as though Arashi had been corrupted by Eredar, like the corpse in Zuppoland, or the Hueilin he had recently brought down. "So this is the end you so desperately seek? A puppet to a being to which you mean nothing?" snarled Septimus, eyes burning with anger, and also, surprisingly, a sinking feeling, as though he had lost something dear to him. A sensation he never thought he could feel for the Stormweaver...

"Better to die fighting for our lives...than to accept death in silence. You are but one being amidst thousands that would seek our destruction...Powerful as you are....you...shall....fall" snarled Arashi, his glowing golden eyes seeming to see all as they burned defiantly. A pulse of energy flowed through his body as he put more power into the channelling, accelerating the process...

"Popularity has it's downsides, I'm afraid" responded Andruil with a chuckle as he eyed the skink, before glancing towards where Sammael had been, not so swift to dismiss the threat the hellhound posed...

Bassunka's staff spun in hand as he waited patiently, not risking a swift reaction, knowing other foes watched for a moment of weakness...

"You still do not understand?" Arashi laughed, grinning eerily. "I am merely playing for the winning team. Did you really expect me to fight for a good cause? I was only invested so long as you and your friends were winning!" he roared, blackened lightning snaking around his body as he pointed his arms at Septimus, sending the bolts at his son.

Meanwhile, it seemed as though there was nothing for Arashi to invest his energy in. The mages around him were not just hidden by the dark, but completely gone, as if they had never existed. The energy they were channeling ceased to exist along with them. Eredar merely laughed at the wyrm's foolishness, as the darkness grew thicker and thicker around him.

The doppelganger managed to step almost out of range, the edge of one of the prongs sheering into its side noisily. The shadowy Desrium grabbed the spear's midsection with its free hand, pulling the real Desrium closer as it thrust its sword toward his chest.

Releasing one hand's grip on the spear, Desrium swung his elbow into the jagged sword, knocking it off course and then shoving his palm into the copy's lower jaw. His gauntlet crashed into the metal of the doppelganger's helm with a dull thump and forced its gaze upwards, a powerful kick to the lower torso following to throw off its hold on the spear and send it off kilter

As the doppelganger fell back, its grip remained on the spear. Pulling once more, the dark Blood Omen brought itself back to its feet, with its sword arm raised above its head, bringing the hilt of the sword down onto the real Desrium's head with a loud clang.

Desrium fell onto a knee, kneeling before his antagonist from the strength of the blow. Pulling with a bout of strength of his own, Desrium brought the copy forward while he simultaneously stood, forcing his freehand against its lower torso. In doing so, Desrium lifted his dark counterpart completely off its feet, bearing its great weight on his shoulders...

Septimus snarled as he brought up a kinetic barrier just as the bolts shot at him, the barrier redirecting them right back at the Dragon. "You can't fool me, Eredar!" roared the Scholar through narrowed eyes. He knew enough of Arashi's mentality to know this could not be him...

Arashi's eyes narrowed, a purple tinge filling them as he began fortifying his own mind against the Traitor, knowing that that would be the next target, or, if his own senses were correct, that it was already under attack...

The bolts eagerly returned to Arashi's body, snaking around his form once again. "So quick to jump to conclusions. I won't waste any more time explaining your ignorance to the truth," the Stormweaver snarled, his manic attitude turning sour as he shot toward Septimus, wreathed in blackened lightning.

"What is real?" Eredar mused aloud. "Could it be that you are being deceived? Or could it be that you really have lost?" the immortal continued with a harsh laugh. "Are you really willing to sacrifice body and soul to a lost cause?"

The doppelganger snarled, its jaws opening and its eyes glowing a deep red as a jet of chaotic energy shot forth from its maw.

The beam tore a hole in the back of Desrium's robe, his armor glowing underneath as the malignant energies lashed at his metal hide. A golden stream of light extended forth before splitting into six strands, three on each side, the Wings of the Justicar. Desrium bent his legs and then launched him and his copy into the air with a powerful kick, the two lingering off the ground with the aid of the golden wings. The Blood Omen threw the doppelganger off of him, kicking at it to finally break its grip on the spear before letting himself fall with the armored spawn of Eredar...

Although its grip had been broken, the doppelganger was still close to the Blood Omen. The seams of its armor near the shoulder joints were alight with energy, chaotic mana pouring from its back. This sent it rocketing into the real Desrium, its hands grasping the Blood Omen's shoulders, the spear caught in between the two grappling entities.

A white hot fireball shot forward as Septimus's wings beat powerfully, a large explosion engulfing the wyrm's face as Septimus shot upwards, evading the incoming Dragon as he twisted round, bracing himself for the Dragon's next move...

"Does it really matter? One way or another, I stand before you. In either case, there's nowhere for me to go. So the question is a moot point" responded Arashi calmly, his eyes never losing their purple tinge. "Your kind are selfish. From the smallest maggot to to greatest god, you all strive for one thing. More" he rumbled as the darkness was forced back just a bit, the Stormweaver seeing fit to give himself a bit of breathing room, though he knew he had no hope of thoroughly fighting off the deity. "If I do not fight, the only choice left is to submit. Submission is death. One need only look at the endless horde of abominations beneath you to realise that. Retreat is pointless, because eventually, your greed will drive you to follow. While a mortal, like the humans fighting at my side, retreat is a possible, perhaps even preferable option to fighting. They may die of old age long before you decide to pursue your greed beyond this land's borders. For an immortal, however, retreat is pointless. And so, I fight" concluded Arashi calmly. By this point, his acute senses and knowledge in Psychomancy had allowed him just enough of a view into the reality of the world around him to know this was an illusion. But he knew Eredar was too powerful to thoroughly fight off until he was further weakened by the mages, and he could not risk continuing to channel the ley energies in this state, without risking counteracting his allies' work...so for now, it seemed, he would be forced to converse with the ethereal being...

Spike followed Jerrin, quickly drawing his bow with his wing's wrapped tightly against his scaly skin, an arrow notched ready to shoot should anything were to appear out of the darkness.

Nitsunobue cried out, his peircing wail slicing through the air as the powerful tendrils struck him, lancing Zazikel's ears like a spear would to a beast. The wyvern snarled, face scarred now by the black magic. Twin jets of air exitted the titan's nostrils, clearly angered.

"I will break you, Archdemon! Even if it costs my life!"

Nitsunobue struck forward in a quick feint, trying to goad Zazikel to lunge forward...

The undead being sensed Cyris' odd feeling, the creature dancing about the arena. Though it was both blind and mute, the pitiful creature had sensed out Cyris' location, and circled ever closer...

Kard turned to Icil.

"Yes. When I was about your age, I was, also, an adventurer. I had someone... close... close to me. We had gone into a tomb of some kind, me and her.... we searched every nook and cranny of that filthy tomb, and found nothing. But then... then, we awoke some kidn of, LICH or somethin'..... I... I don't want to talk about it anymore..."

A lone tear could be seen running down Kard cheek...

Arashi roared, his face charred, revealing muscle and teeth on the left half of his reptilian maw. "I WILL TEACH YOU RESPECT," the Stormweaver boomed, his voice amplified and altered, showing similarities to Eredar's. Throwing his arms to the sides, palms facing up, the wyrm roared into the sky as the blackened energy shot upward, disappearing from sight. Only a split second later, the lightning returned, spearing its way from multiple directions at Septimus.

"Resilient though you are, you are not without weakness. I will break you. And no amount of magic will save you," Eredar responded coldly after a few seconds of silence, as the illusion faded, returning Arashi to the actual field of battle.

Desrium sent himself and the doppelganger into a backwards spin by angling the golden wings which allowed the Blood Omen to manipulate his descent but did not grant him actual flight. Stopping when his copy was pointed towards the ground, Desrium's eyes flared up, the bright flash of light being the prelude to the armored being's incredible strength. He started pushing back on the copy with one arm while raising a knee to wedge the two apart and finally delivering a punch into its chest, sending it hurtling off of him...

The doppelganger roared in anger, its jaws still hanging open as another jet of energy lashed out from within. The shadowy Desrium's frenzy made the beam whip around wildly, only barely managing to sheer into the real Desrium's side before it was silenced by the doppelganger's impact with the ground.
