Viho's pause and brief hesitation in following gave away his surprise. "We have an...understanding." Though whether that understanding had more to do with the fact that Viho's primary concern was his students and the danger they faced, or that he and Andruil had nearly killed one another the last time they'd crossed blades was up for debate.

Andruil looked towards where the Lady of Light had bolted, cringing slightly at the sound of her landing on the roof of a house. Someone was waking up earlier than planned today, it seemed.

Mere minutes later, while he leaned against the wall of a building, he noted a crackling a few streets down. He was almost about to go to check when the peripheries of his view caught sight of the soaring Viking. Were it not for the fact it looked like it had been a very deliberate flight path she was following, he would have moved to catch her. As it were, he considered it was quite possible her attempts to land would make trying to do so quite dangerous. "Ah, the wonders of magic," he repeated, this time aloud, though still very much to himself.

"An understanding is the start of peace."

The armored being opened the unassuming door behind the stairs, and again, waited for Viho to take the lead.

Evisa landed on the toes of one foot and immediately went into a sideways spin, cartwheeling through the street to bleed off her velocity before finally letting herself drop into a kneel just a few feet from Andruil. For style, she somersaulted forwards into a standing stance, where she had actual reason to dust herself off. She was not kidding when she told Dahnae she could take a fall from the top of Septimus Place. "Handled," she announced to Andruil, who could appreciate the fact that she was not giving off her ridiculous heat anymore.

"Ten points for style, ten for presentation." commented Andruil off handedly, a thumbs up gesture accompanying it. He took note of the path she had taken upon landing leading up to where she stopped. "Nine for control, however," he added. It was a shame he was missing the Solstice Celebrations in Riverdale. The Valenhadian Winter Games was no doubt soon to be underway, and Riverdale was the host this year. He could already imagine his father was none too pleased over his absence, but they had an arrangement, and Kaelan couldn't fault his son for wanting to aid his friends. His presence in Brodudika was just a small bonus on top of it all, taking away some of the bitterness of his absence from the important event.

"Points?" Evisa slipped her helmet off, freed her waves of golden hair and scratched her head while they wafted about. "Wasn't aware I was being graded. You work for Desrium, or something?"

It was about halfway to this door that the receptionist's words registered with Viho. He blamed his lack of usual attentiveness on the company he kept and the radiating pain in his shoulder. He gave himself a few seconds to think, then made a snap decision. There wasn't much he could do to stop Dahnae from coming back, so...

"She's not to push herself in her deliveries," he told the receptionist, well aware of Dahnae's concept of acceptable risks. "Start her out doing half of her usual work. I'll keep an eye on her and let you know how she's doing."

At least this way he could limit the chance of Dahnae reopening her wounds, if they weren't healed enough for her to continue being her energetic self. With that bit of business out of the way, Viho returned his attention to the matter at hand, and he stepped forward. This was not a part of the school he was especially familiar with, and he made a mental note to fix that as quickly as possible.

After leaving the man to figure out how he was going to limit Dahnae's work load -- she was bound to notice and be very indignant about it -- Viho found himself at the bottom of the repurposed cellar, the crystal-lights not too long ago energized by the few researchers who were present. Like Syria before him, the elf saw their surprised gazes shoot over to him, though they were quicker to accept his entrance. He did work there, and they took it as a curriculum-related visit. That changed when Desrium appeared around the corner of the stairs.

Sensing that both parties would be a bit overwhelmed; Viho realizing that there was a laboratory underneath the school and the researchers themselves, like many he was involved with being struck by his sudden appearances, Desrium spoke. "Best season's wishes."

The solstice greeting was perplexing, but broke the ice for all involved, so to speak.

The armored being's words startled a quiet chuckle from Viho, which he was quick to try and cover by clearing his throat. "Fascinating place," he offered, letting his eyes wander a bit while he let it all sink in. Experimenting underneath the school set an alarm ringing in his head, but he forced himself not to ask how safe all of this was. Desrium seemed to have a knack for finding the right people for the jobs he needed filled...even if Viho was questioning how well the place could contain volatile magic or explosions.

"Naturally. I am his secretary, after all," he responded without skipping a beat. His expression was completely neutral, and he seemed for all the world as though that truly was his occupation in the city.

Evisa accepted that one readily enough. She rolled her shoulders back and rested her hands on her sides. "What a progressive city, breaking the mold in all the ways it can, eh? They don't even have you sat at a desk all day." The observation came coolly, even as Anekai's flame-streaked body went roaring through a nearby alley.

"Hardly a dull moment," agreed one of the white-coated mages dryly. "What can we do you for?"

"I would like you to return to him use of his arm, if it is at all possible," Desrium replied in his plain, perhaps overly simplistic way. Blunt though it was, it was obvious to all in the room that Viho was crippled. Less time spent beating around that bush meant more time getting practical things done. The mages looked to one another.

"So this project takes priority over the others?"

"He is to combat the underlying threats in the city with his psychic and physical abilities," Desrium replied.

"Priority it is, then."

Pushing past the moment of discomfort, Viho repeated what he'd told Desrium about the injury, and then asked, "Will you want to see what the current range of motion in the limb is?" It would be far outside his comfort zone, and painful, but Viho knew there was often little room for error where magic was concerned.

"What good is one who is part-wolf stuck behind a desk, of all things?" responded the Knight with a smile. "On a more serious note, I was referencing the Valenhadian Winter Games. Athletes of various kinds compete for lavish prizes and popularity throughout the kingdom. As you can probably guess, the athletes are scored on their skills on a scale of ten." He couldn't help but take note of how the Viking's hair seemed rampant and alive. Wafting on the wind like a fire, he could imagine some people would have tried to toss a bucket of water on her before they got to know her. It was a mildly entertaining mental image.

"No need to exert yourself, or agitate the injury. To do so would make our jobs all the more difficult," replied one the mages as they all left their work stations to stand around Viho with clinical, professional eyes. They observed the application of the brace, identifying where the worst of the damage would have been and how Viho had since compensated for it.

Then came the jargon relating to medicine potions. Viho gleaned despite the vocabulary of academia that time was the major issue preventing the use of herb-based concoctions to reverse things. It had simply been too long since the injury happened for any kind of miracle salve to be put to work. Viho's body sealed away the problematic aspects of his injury, as opposed to healing them. To pursue that solution would mean reopening those wounds and operating over a prolonged period of time. Time they did not have to spend for an extensive and mostly experimental procedure, much less the risk and suffering Viho would be subjected to.

Evisa cocked her head. Something about being told she was speaking to another shapeshifter going hand in hand with some sporting competition just did not click in her mind. It must have been one of those cultural differences Dahnae was speaking about, something about the east. Hello, my name is so and so and I happen to turn into a so and so. Allow me to tell you about the ways of my people. At least this one did not act like a wolf. Evisa already had a personal thing against the way they observed targets from afar, looming, before striking as a pack. Mostly because she was on the wrong side of said pack, and it was not a fun time.

"What's your name, buddy?" she asked, seemingly at random. Introductions were a good thing. It also meant she had something to focus on other than the urge to punch something.

Through it all, Viho stood quietly, moving little and only when prompted. He watched and listened, taking in their findings with silent patience. So far, he wasn't hearing anything he didn't already know. There was going to be no easy solution to this particular problem.

If he didn't know that Andruil regretted how much damage had been done, he would have wondered if the knight would be proud to know it was so irreversible.

"So we can't have his body regenerate its damaged components," said one of the mages as a summary of the elaborate exchange of words. With the basic issue identified, the alternative possibilities were tabled. The flurry of words that seemed to come straight from another language was harder to follow. Some of them were undoubtedly names, but names from cultures and races that spanned all of recorded magical history. What their contributions were and how they related to Viho's problem was lost in the discussion of intellectuals.

"I see," Desrium stated some ways into it. How he understood it was anyone's guess. While it was not always so, the being Desrium grew to be reconciled with the knowledge of his creator. As dated as said knowledge was, several centuries behind the current times, the armored being had a serviceable stance in this conversation. "You mean to augment his body's own functionality, artificially?"

"We've discovered the foundation of it, at the very least. In pursuing super-core substances, we touched on 'branches' relating to the study," explained one of the coated mages. They reached into a pocket on the inner lining of their outfit and pulled out a wand, plain and inconspicuous as it was. With a flick, the tip was given a jittering, unpredictable charge. In the next moment, the peer closest to the mage was stuck with it.

Naturally, they jumped and yelped from the very literal shock, the arm that took the jolt twitching.

"Teslamancy is inherently tied to the way our brains conduct our motor skills. One of the things we discovered."

"Promising," Desrium said.

"Sir Andruil Lyall, Valenhadian Silver Knight, at your service," responded the Knight amicably despite the almost automatic response, the statement accompanied by a bow which, on any other circumstance, would probably have ended with her hand at his lips. It so happened that this hand was clad in a sizeable metal gauntlet, and he hated to think what mishaps that could bring about. "And I take it you would be Evisa, yes?" he inquired as he looked up at her, straightening from his bow. He found the momentary confusion she expressed endearing, tempted to ask what it was that confused her. He decided against it, however. Better to let her speak as she liked. After all, he was still the mysterious stranger that seemed to know her. To control the conversation as well was to risk unsettling her.

"Evisa Canton of Vanguard. Novarah to those with a reason to fear me. Just your all around normal Lady of Light," she replied with a half-bow of her own. "Leave it to Desrium to hire the most prestigious to help his cause, hmm? Secretary-knight is a new one."

Whatever else might have gone over Viho's head, that got his attention - and interest. "Indeed," he murmured. "Something like that..." He trailed off, not willing to let himself voice the hope. He just needed to be able to use his sword arm acceptably well, not perfectly or even close to. There weren't many people, psychomancers or not, who could fight a battle on two fronts.

Still...this was more than he thought he'd get.

"The Lady of Light... A fitting title," mused Andruil, eyeing her hair for a few moments longer. "Truth be told, Desrium has not employed me. I am mostly here to aid some friends, but I am also tasked with making sure all is well here. Valenhad has invested manpower and equipment into Brodudika with the hopes this goal of Desrium's can be achieved, but..." he explained, glancing off to one side for a bit, seemingl lost in thought. "Well, considering there are still those who would see Brodudika burn to the ground for nothing more noble than their own perverse pleasure, I am obliged to lend a hand to their eradication so long as I am here."

"The ********," was Evisa's concise and apt response to hearing about that. She would be one to hunt them down herself, had she not another part to play. Maybe one day soon Novarah would show her face in the city. Onto more lighthearted things, the viking laughed, "You hound them good, y'hear? I do find it a bit disappointing though; I'll have to speak with Desrium about getting an actual wolf-secretary in the city, just for the spectacle of it!"

She heard the tell-tale explosion of Anekai taking "flight" once again. In the back of her mind, she noted she had to track down Oedon to see to it that they were not leaving roads of ice later. At the same time, Evisa noted the tremors of Snowball's continued movements elsewhere. Back to work. She should be joining them again, soon.

"Relatively speaking, it should not be hard to devise a charm that can store a magical charge, and impart an enchantment to store teslamancy impulses. The potential activation of the power source could be linked to a super-core construct, with the addition of gems and other magical-affinity materials to hold what the super-core itself cannot."

The mage rubbing his arm took the liberty to explain what super-core was to Viho. "It is an alloy that is to be a superconductor of mana. As quick as thought itself.

"The gems would mean that less super-core is needed for the entire assembly to work, so less exotic materials could be used in the construction of Viho's augment."

Desrium took this all in and then asked, "How long would it take you to produce the first test-type?"

"A few days at most," said one of the white-coats.
