"No kidding." Golden light crept over Evisa's hand, heat rippling off of her glove. Precautionary measure. Sanitary measure. "This is what I get for not asking for my space, and I apologize," she said. Dahnae seemed more interested in the light that was readily fading by time Evisa sat on her hands to prevent a repeat. "If they're dealing with the magic sort of research that I hear goes on around here, I don't think I'll be much help past a space heater. I do hope what they come up looks as cool as the things I do know about, though!"

"I'll be sure to come and show you when they finish what they're working on," Viho assured her, amused. Personally, he was more concerned with whether or not their project would work as intended, but he supposed it wouldn't hurt for the thing to be visually appealing.

"As you will. But heed my warning, Desrium. When the time comes that you meet her, do not do so with the expectation of facing her alone, nor with the expectation that she will listen or change. To do so will be to invite unnecessary death upon yourself, and those in your charge. I for one will take an opportunity if I find it. But for now, she may yet prove useful to us against the Brotherhood." The Stormweaver's bubble warbled before collapsing in on itself, streaks of light coiling around the tip of his staff as he looked down at the streets below, then up at the cloudy sky. "If there is nothing else?" he asked, looking at the two. Andruil shook his head. "Desrium?"

"I will be seeing you," Desrium said, his choice of words a very conscious thing. He would live, for the future that required his services. How he intended to do so with Morrelie being alive as well, the very beginnings of a thought began to coalesce. The advice to not go alone...

"Excellent." Evisa sat up and stepped over to the two, throwing one arm around Viho and the other against Dahnae, much to her surprise. "It was nice chatting with you, but you have a class to run, a cat to keep in check, and I have elementals to babysit."

After a moment's hesitation, Viho gave Evisa a one-armed squeeze in return. "Always a pleasure. See you around, Evisa." He wondered at the timing of it all, the conversation putting him in a much better mood than he had been, and decided not to question it. Better for things to have happened this way than if he had been left to his thoughts.

"Until we meet again, then," he concluded. Once more, he leaped, launching himself from the bridge and into the sky, a pulse seeming to shake everything for a considerable distance as the cloud of black engulfed him, vast wings bursting from within and beating powerfully as the Stormweaver ascended into the sky. As swiftly as he appeared, the Experimentalist was gone, and for those who had not been there to witness him, he was still just as much a myth.

As he preferred.

It was time he investigated matters back at Drakhunmiir. Things had been quiet for too long.

"Yep."

She released the two elves and then stepped through them, walking towards the windows.

"That's not the door," Dahnae pointed out astutely.

"Yep."

Evisa opened the same window that Dahnae had entered through, greeted with a gust of wind that had her feeling oddly nostalgic. "You behave yourself," she said to the shapeshifter chidingly. Afterwards, she stepped out backwards as she closed the window.

Then she backflipped off of the edge of Septimus Place.

Desrium looked down from the rapidly departing Arashi. Seconds later, as the wyrm passed in front of the sky, the shadow over Brodudika returned, and was gone again in the same span of time. "Your thoughts, Andruil?" he asked the knight, for his benefit more than his own. If there was anything that Andruil was still uncertain of, he had the platform to share.

Viho refrained from rolling his eyes, but he did move to lock the window and get on with preparing for the second half of the day's lessons. And wondered if he should make it a point to stress to some of his more adventurous students that they were highly likely to die if they attempted the things Evisa did. Maybe if it ever actually became a problem he needed to address.

Andruil turned to face Desrium, even as the sprawling form of the Experimentalist disappeared into the distance. He opened his mouth to speak, pausing a moment to better structure what he intended to say. Finally, he settled on "Well if there is a mage out there so powerful that even the Stormweaver is wary of her, and she seeks your destruction, I think it madness to engage her. But I understand your conviction. We all have things we must do."

Dahnae inched over to the window after Viho moved away, not to open it, but to peer down at the street many feet below. Sure enough, she saw the top of the viking's head emerge from beneath the windowsill, much smaller than before. Also sure enough, she was unharmed. Evisa walked on despite some stunned people staring after her on the pathways.

"Oh," said the jungle girl.

"Thank you for your understanding. It is all I can ask for," Desrium replied. "Let me not keep you from your prior arrangements any longer." He turned back to the door on the other side of the bridge, leaving Andruil to depart as he saw fit. He prepared for the noisy retort of the cold hinges.

"Yes," was Viho's somewhat dry reply. "Oh." He settled at his desk rather than on it and pulled a small stack of notes toward himself, fully intending to make use of what time he had left before the rest of his students came back from their lunch break. Most of them had come to a point where he was backing off from coaching them and letting them settle into the routine of actively meditating and practicing. It left him free to take note of their progress and plan how to proceed when the class was more or less ready to make the next push.

Dahnae pulled herself from the window to scoop up her mittens from her desk. She stuffed them in her pocket to make sure she wouldn't misplace them. She could count on Viho to put them on her desktop, but after that, who knows what they may get up to when she wasn't looking. She then swerved about the room to take Evisa's seat on Viho's desk, pulling her legs up and sitting in a very feline manner.

"There was this big fire-flyer out and about while I was delivering my letters," Dahnae told Viho with youthful excitement.

Viho hummed, glancing up. He stilled the fresh anger that wanted to coil in his gut and rear its ugly head. "It seems dragons paying the city a visit will be a bit of a regular occurrence," he replied, and was relieved to hear the convincing neutrality in his voice.

Dahnae, perceptive to these things owing to her wild traits, leaned towards Viho and cocked her head. "You don't like fire-flyers, do you?" she asked, recalling the smaller dragon's appearance outside of the window, and her teacher's reaction to her.

The psychomancy instructor twitched a little, his grip on calmness slipping just a bit, but his mask was back in place before much of anything bled through. "Not especially," he admitted, shrugging. "Call it residual mistrust." It was as good a term as any.

"Ah," Dahnae responded, then receded back to where she started from. "I know the feeling. Stompy-foots... uh... elephants, they spook my people sometimes. And dwarves, from what I've heard. There are a lot of things that spook my people especially though. Because they have tried to eat us. Animals. Some plants." She spoke of it as if it were the most normal thing in the world. In the struggles of day-to-day survival, it kind of was.

Nevertheless, she settled herself onto her back and tucked into herself to bat at Viho's hair with, what the elf would realize to be, a paw.

The elf hummed again, resisting the urge to pull away. From what he knew of cats, the motion would only encourage more vigorous batting - not something he wanted to do when his hair was the toy the shapeshifter had chosen for the moment. He should really have tied his hair back like he usually did, but he'd forgotten today.

"I lost a few people I considered close friends to a dragon's rampaging," Viho said quietly, crossing something out a bit more violently than was strictly necessary, "so I suppose it is a bit like that."

"It's not something they do to hurt you on purpose. Wait..." Dahnae stopped her swatting to adjust her phrasing. "They do it on purpose, but it's not to hurt you. They do it because that's what comes naturally. It sucks when they knock things over or kill people you like, but the things we kill and eat probably don't like it when that happens to the things they like. Can be sad, but you can't hold it against them."

"Maybe so. It's not a rational response." Viho flipped a page upward and made a quick note on the one underneath. "Knee-jerk reactions are the hardest to curb, and even at my age I cannot claim to be perfect or have flawless control."

Dahnae's paw found itself pressing firmly on Viho's hand as he wrote. While on the subject of control of all things.

"Nobody's perfect," she said. She did not remove her paw.
