Yawning Softfoot slowly crawled down the tree and then hoped to the floor. Her claws made the metal ring. The tree was the only access to that room besides the roof. Perfect hiding spot. As she was walking out through the hole in the wall a strange scent came to her. she sniffed and then darted around to the source to see an old raptor. It was completely brown with yellow eyes. She growled menecingly and the raptor just hissed "It looks like im too late....." She hissed back "What do you mean your too late!" He tilted his head and growled "I have lived not to far from here for a long time.... I saw you first come to this lake almost 2 months ago...." She grunted "Huh? Well it seems you are to late, this is mine now." He smiled and then snarled "Dont you sense anything strange about this lake?" She stood back slightly and growled "Well ya... sortv'e" Then he took another step foreward hissing "This lake is poisined! Thats why I am too late. I wasnt able to warn you in time..." Softfoot was now very worried she steped back hissing "Poisened! It can't be... I feel fine!" Then he hissed menceingly "Exactly! Maybe you feel better than ever, right? You are becoming a mutant, and after a few more weeks of drinking you will go completely insane!" She laughed "Mutant! How would I become a mutant from drinking out of a lake!" He grinned and barked "How else do you think mutants become muatants. Go look at your reflection and you will see what I mean...." Cautisly she backed over to the lakes edge and started at her reflection. She only noticed a few small things, her eyes were glazed slightly redish, strangley enough. and her gray splodges were much lighter coloured, and more shiney. She turned her head about to tell him what she noticed when her head darted back to look at the reflection. She had seen something, she was sure of it. She slowly turned her head and then she gasped. She had four quills sticking out of the back of her head going down her neck. They were lightly coloured, sky blue and another one a light red. She mumered "Where the hell did those come from...." She gingerly touched the back of her neck, and she could feel them. The old raptor laughed and barked, pointing at the lake "They came from there. Soon you will lose your mind completely." She shook her head. She couldn't belive this was happening! She had never really thought about where mutants originated... Then she growled desperately "But If I stop drinking now I will go back to normal right?" He laughed and barked "You wont go insane, but you will get sick. Your body needs a bit of that water to survive now." She thought about it for a seocond strangley able to think fast in this stressful situation "Well what if I only drink once a week?" He was taken back slightly, he barked "Well you wouldn't get sick, but your body would stay the same." Then she grinned and barked "And I wouldnt go insane, because im not contantly drinking it." He shook his head and growled "Yes that is ture but I dont think you realise just what this means. You are a mutant for life! you will look like that forever!" She shrugged hissing "So? I kinda like it." At this he burst out laughing and then seeing her face he hissed "What? your serious!" Then she hissed "Well im still me amn't I" he growled deeply anneoyed. "But...look at you!" She laughed this time and settled down in the sunlight "I already have looked at myself I don't care" Grumbeling he turned around and left the clearing that surrounded the building. He usauly got his fun from telling people what was happening to them and then watching them run around in panic for a few days. But this raptor! She just shrugged it off. He would come back tomorrow to see if she was panicing yet.
