Hunter growled "OH no you dont!" and charged forward after Shadow, with Exile, Blade and Rawhide gaining on him, and in hot pursuit of their target. just as they thought they had him, a very loud roar came from ahead. Hunter looked up to see a Giga charging in their direction. the raptor they were chasing jumped as hard as it could, and landed in the trees above, then continued. Hunter was left with a Giga to fight. it was roughly his size,a few meters bigger in length, but less than a meter in height. Hunter made a territorial roar, seeing as they were still in his father's territory, but only just. The Giga stayed quiet for a short period, then snarled at Hunter "whos' going to save you? you cant honestly think that there's a predator that would dare take me on!". Hunter growled "I know one". the Giga said "who?". Hunter growled "Crusher. your in his territory, and im his son". The Giga looked at him, a reptilian look of disbelief in it's face. it looked like it was about to turn around, but then a very loud thump came from behind it, being felt through the ground and heard. it was too late. Crusher was getting close. the Giga was about to run, but was stopped cold when it heard a Tyrannosaur's territorial roar; one much louder and deeper than any it had heard before. it turned around to see trees swaying right and left, some lookingl ike they were going to fall, the birds near it all scattering and flying away as fast as their wings could carry them. another roar was heard, then, the maker of the roar showed himself. Crusher. a Tyrannosaur of gigantic proportions, with a rage that was known and feared by almost every predator on the island. he snarled "How dare you enter my territory!?". the Giga made a whimpering sound, and backed away a few steps. Crusher snarled "Leave now, and i'll think about leaving you with a leg to walk with!". the Giga didn't need telling twice. it shot off in the opposite direction, fear taking hold of his senses, and making him run faster than he had ever done before. the path cleared, Exile, Rawhide and Blade continued their chase. Hunter nodded in thanks to his father, than followed. Crusher returned to his path toward Ripper...

Rawhide ran as fast as he could, as well as Exile and Blade, trying to keep up with the dark shape of a raptor. It was still visible through the trees, trying to leap from branch to branch. "You're not escaping from us that easily," growled the male as he continued his pursuit. He ran at a faster pace, blood lust starting to come over him.

Hunter charged as fast as he could, managing to keep up with his smaller, faster friends. they had tried, but it was too late. the raptor had disappeared again. Hunter growled in annoyance, and started taking in scents. he started tracking the raptor, which, so far, they were almost certain was Shadow...

Crusher arrived at the labs, and growled, scaring off any creature that may get in the way. as he neared the lab entrance, he felt a sharp sting in his tail. when he looked back, he noticed that a chunk seemed to have been bitten off. but he could still feel it was there. one thing to explain that. A Carnotaurus. Crusher roared in rage and swung his head down onto the Carno's invisible neck, and then moved his tail away before it could bite again. he then growled "you want my tail? enjoy!". he swung his tail as hard as he could, knocking the Carno in the ribs and making it fly off the ground of a few feet, before landing and rolling for several more feet. the dazing attack was enough to make it reveal itself. losing all sense of direction and balance, it couldn't maintain it's camouflage, not knowing where it was or what was around it anymore. it snarled, and tried to camouflage, but it was too slow. Crusher charged, and bit it on the back, then lifted it off the ground, and threw it into the wall of the lab complex, making a slab of concrete fall off of the building and crush the Carno, which was stunned and on the ground. as an extre measure, Crusher bit off it's left leg, which was exposed. he ripped it off, then dropped it on top of the dead Carno. it would soon be food for raptors, compies and any other scavengers in the area. Crusher examined his tail. the injury was minor...only a few cuts...nothing that wouldn't heal perfectly...

he entered the complex and growled "Ripper? where are you?". silence followed. Crusher knew that Ripper was there. he could sense it. Ripper just like to be stealthy until he decided to show himself. Crusher would wait...

Exile roared with frustration at having lost the raptor once more. If things kept on like this, the raptor which they thought was shoadow could have reached the cave by now, abd would no longer be a target of which they could attack safely.

Hunter, RawHide and Blade were all sniffing frantically trying to pick up the scent. Exile mirrored there actions, but couldn't help the feeling of failure inside her.

It was no use. They lost the raptor yet again. "I have an idea. We will not go back to the cave, but we will live out here and wait until Shadow goes on another hunt with the pack. We will capture him off guard." He waited for any objections from his friends.

Exile pondered Rawhide's suggestion "I like the idea, but we are vulnerable out here. And what could Shadow do to the pack while we're gone?"

"We could find another cave to hide in. As for Shadow...I don't really know. He will at best give them some sort of small break then start with the hunting again," growled Rawhide.

SharpClaw saw that Shadow has finally returned to the cave and watched him carefully as he went to discuss something with his two head raptors. She wondered what could be going on and also wondered why Rawhide, Exile, and Blade weren't back.

Crusher waited for a short while...there was a click...then another one, then another one. he turned around, and found the familiar aging raptor, slightly mutated, his skin having become dark from the many years of feeding on dead mutants. he hissed "i know what you want to know Crusher....i have seen Scar only twice lately......the last time i saw him, he was...with a raptor....an old relative of mine...which i thought...was dead". Crusher growled "how did you split up? how come you werent with eachother?". Ripper hissed "we were part of the same pack.....at one time...... but, our pack split up....and he joined another one....i left....deciding that i wasn't a pack raptor.....i was a loner...one who just couldn't live in a pack.....he...was abandoned by his pack leader.....and mutated by the humans......i...i stayed here, making it my home...and went around the island.....". Crusher growled "Mutant.....Scar is going to be hurt if i dont help him soon". Ripper said "No...these mutants...are different....they were the first....the ones who adapted to their mutations...they saved themselves from insanity....they were mature enough to be able to fight it and live with it....usng it to their advantage.....the mutants you killed, were born after the humans abandoned the area....and polluted the lake, which was mixed with even more dangerous chemicals.....that, was what caused the extreme hostility you see in...the mutants that drink it.....they arent like the first generation ones....the ones mutated by humans....". Crusher growled "Are you sure, Ripper? Scar's pack is being destroyed by his brother, Shadow. the only way i see to fix it is to return Scar to his place, and exile or kill Shadow". Ripper said "Killing him now, would cause to Scar's pack the same as what happened to Darkness', unless.....Blade takes over. he's good enough at hunting and is brave enough to stand as leader until Scar returns. he is also distantly related to Scar, though neither of them know it.". Crusher growled "How do you know that?". Ripper showed a toothy reptilian smile, and said "that part of my memory, unfortunately, has faded to the point where i'll need to sit here for hours to remember it. i havent needed to know that for so long, that i have forgotten it. now, Exiling Shadow, will make him the same as Darkness....especially in his currently hostile way of thinking. but, you need to use his mind against him.....that's the way to make him back down. he is at odds with himself. he doesn't like what he did to Scar...but he has this desperate need for attention and power. he doesn't like the fact that his pack is friendly with you, the rexes. he feels that raptors should be the leaders of this island. the owners, the most dominant, not the rexes, suchos, gigas, allos, spinos or any of the other large predators on the island. he also has a very big ego...he cant bring himself to apologize, or back down". Crusher cocked his head, and said "How do you know that?". Ripper said "ive heard him talking to himself. he may be stealthy, but i am practically five times more stealthy than Darkness himself! it comes from all these years of living on my own, and learning about the island's history, adn the raptors' techniques, as well as several of the even stealthier ones, like the compies.". Crusher grunted, impressed. he growled "So, what should we do now? make Blade the new leader? what about Shadow's followers? they'd kill him!". Ripper said "oh...i wouldn't say that. You may not know it, but, among the raptors there, Blade is the 2nd best in fighting. Scar's the best, but was beaten because of Shadow's speed and stealth, stealth being the decisive bit in that fight. didn't you know why Shadow lead Scar into that cave? it was because he was a night hunter. he's used to the dark, adn Scar isn't. because of that, Scar was handicapped in that fight. if it were done in daylight, or afternoon, Scar would have beaten Shadow easily. after Scar, comes Blade. then comes Darkness, because of his strength, he can cause more damage in a single hit than any other raptor in the pack, but his size and strength come at the cost of speed. his strikes are slightly slower than those of Scar and Blade. after Darkness comes Rawhide. his intelligence, speed and strength are enough to beat most other raptors. in fact, Shadow, if put up in a line from strongest to weakest, is probably the weakest raptor in the pack when it comes to fighting. his only advantage is stealth". Crusher looked at Ripper in awe. he was stunned that Ripper knew so much...things even he didn't know. he nodded, and thanked him. now he knew how to beat Shadow. he just needed to tell the others how to fight him...

"I agree then." Exile growled. It was the best option, well more like the only option. If they went back to the cave and Shadow had saw them chasing him, they would be killed.

Crusher made a sub sonic roar to find out where Hunter was. soon, a reply came, and Crusher started to move. he growled a goodbye to Ripper, and left.

Hunter growled "that was my dad. if he's looking for me, he must know something important. and, knowing Ripper, i expect that something is going to be VERY helpful. who wants to come with me?"

The raptors ageed to go with Hunter. Staying alone at night in the open without the the Rex was very risky.

Crusher continued walking, and was undisturbed until a young Allosaur snarled at him. he looked at it, and growled in amusement. he knew it wouldn't dare attack. it probably thought he was an unusual sauropod, looking at his size. it jumped when it heard the growl, and ran off. Crusher continued, the whole time wondering whether there were any true predators left, ones who were brave enough to face any opponent, no matter how big it was...

Hunter walked with the raptors, undisturbed for a kilometer, then came across an unusually colourful bary. Hunter wasn't going to do anything, until it roared at him, seemingly wanting a fight. Hunter snarled "That isn't a good idea, Baryonyx. im passing through. if you want to stay alive, let me go". The Bary snarled "And who's gonna stop me? you?!". Hunter said "Yes, me. leave me and my friends alone, or you'll regret it. you dont want to make me mad". The Barry said "i think i do. im bored, and your the nearest target". it charged, and Hunter dodged. he grabbed the Bary by the tail as it passed him, and jerked his head, ripping a small chunk off of the end of it. the Bary snarled "you'll pay for that!". it lunged, and nearly hit Hunter with it's super claw. Hunter had been grazed by it. he noticed that that was dangerously close ot Exile, who had jumped out of the way just in time to dodge the claw. the raptors hissed, and Hunter's colours changed. he made a rage roar that could be mistaken for a younger Crusher, and charged. he rammed the Bary on the chest, and it was on the floor before anyone knew what had happened. Hunter started thrashing with his jaws, leaving gruesome holes where his head connected with the Bary's side. he bit onto it's thigh, and thrashed, and took a large chunk out of it. it roared in pain and Hunter continued thrashing, until Crusher arrived on the scene. he roared and suddenly, everything went completely quiet. he looked at the Bary, and then at Hunter, and growled "Hunter, leave it. it's foolishness isn't worth the trouble". Hunter nodded, and snarled at the Bary before backing off. Crusher looked at the Bary, and growled "Leave here now, or you'll end up with my son attacking you again. you should've let him pass when he asked you to". The Bary got up, nodded at the massive Tyrannosaur in front of it, and then ran off. Hunter looked at his father with surprise, and growled "how did you..?". Crusher interrupted "Hunter, you dont remember my lessons well enough. it's called stealth walking. im one of the few rexes who can do it, the others being you, your mother and Fury. maybe you should teach Lightning. it may come in handy. also, i was here even before you started fighting. i decided to see how well you had learned the lessons i tought you". Hunter nodded, and Crusher looked at the raptors he considered family, and growled "are you ok?"

There it is, Otalp growled. A fresh Dilophosaur nest, with just one parent. Now do you remember what I told you about the Dilophosaurs? Scar gestured yes, and still Otalp gave him the lecture he had heard twice onthe way here already. About how poisonous the Dilophosaur's spit was. About what it could do if it got in your eyes. How if you got hit by it, you wouldn't stand a chance and how Otalp would be too worried about his own safety.

When Otalp finished, the two raptors took positions on opposite sides of the clearing. They had already decided the Scar would be the distraction, while Otalp would take the young, cripple them so that they wouldn't escape and hide it where a scavenging Compy or nosy raptor wouldn't find it, repeat the process again and then finally go to help Scar away from the Dilo. Scar, meanwhile, would need to distract the Dilo and stay alive long enough for Otalp to do all this.

Scar went over the plan once more, then quickly tried to think up a strategy before the Dilophosaur smelled them. He knew the Dilophosaur was lightly built, and its jaws were weak, so he probably would have to worry about it breaking his neck. But it was fast, and a good deal larger them him, plus its mate might be near by. As he thought about it, his best bet would probbly be to stay to its side where it could still see him and know where he was, but where it couldn't aim spit at him.

He creapt out of his hiding place and let out a snarl to show the Dilophosaur he was there, and watched as it revealed its frill and let out a hoot, a warning sign that it was about to attack. Quickly, Scar moved to it's side that was opposite the nest, drawing the Dilo's attention away from the hatchlings and Otalp. The Dilophosaur turned, following him, and Scar stepped backwards, moving closer to the forest whre there was more cover. He spotted Otalp grabbing one of the hatchlings and run away, meaning that soon they would be halfway finished.

Scar broke cover again, trying to keep the Dilo from returning to its nest, and dashed to one side. The Dilophosaur followed him, not about to allow him to pull that trick again. His only strategy gone and a rather painful death ahead, Scar became desperate and charged at the Dilo, leaping at its throat. The startled Dilophosaur was able to swipe him away with its claws, sending him into the ground and leaving a slash across his jaw.

The Dilophosaur advanced on him, revealing is frill and preparing to attack. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Otalp hesitantly standing on the edge of the clearing, and then made a dash to grab another one of the hatchlings. Though the Dilophosaur was surprised by another raptor appearing, it quickly reacted and spat at the unfortunate Otalp. The mutant let out a yelp of pain, and then turned and ran back into the jungle. Meanwhile, Scar also slipped away, and hurried to catch up with Otalp...

Exile acted upon instinct jumping away from the Bary as the fight grew with intensity. When Crusher arrived, she knew the fight was over.

She looked up at Crusher as he approached them, and asked them if they were okay. Exile growled "Yes, we're alright. But our pack isn't" And she told him the raptor's plan of staying out here until they hunted once more.

Crusher growled "Well, i have some good news. i know how we can fight Shadow, and i may know where Scar is heading. at least, i know where he was last seen. im going to go there now, and start tracking him. if im lucky, i'll catch up to him". he saw all the raptors' faces light up. he growled "Who wants to come with me?"

Darkness awoke from his sleep, his hunger the cause. He still could not return to the cave unless Scar had returned. But this still didn't mean he couldn't hunt. He had hunted many times by himself. At that thought, Darkness walked toward the scent of prey. Soon he was in a clearing with Gallimimus running and grazing. These dinosaurs were easy and plentiful prey for a lone raptor. That is, if he could seperate one of them.

Darkness watched as a large Gallimimus walked away from the group. This was a perfect chance to attack. The Gallimimus turned but was greeted by Darkness's claw to its neck. The beast screeched and started to run. But it was too late. Darkness had latched on and finally bit the dinosaur's throat, killing it.

Darkness ate his fill and began tracking Sharpclaw, Exile, Crusher, and Hunter. He needed to know what was going on.....

Crusher nodded, and growled "ok. lets go. i'll tell you what Ripper told me about how to fight Shadow, on our way to where i was told to start tracking Scar". the group moved together for several hours, heading towards the place they needed to go. the whole time, Crusher told them about what had happened to him on his way there, from the Carnotaurs, the amazing facts that Ripper knew, and the way to beat Shadow. he told them about how they needed to use Shadow's unstable mind against him. he was uncomfortable about what he had done to Scar, and he wouldn't back down. those things should be put to good use against him. although they did feel slight sympathy for a few seconds, the thought of the elderly Raptors whose deaths he was responsible for quickly wiped it out. when they arrived, Crusher growled "This is where we're supposed to start tracking....hmm..the scent is weak...but not too weak. follow me". he started walking for a few minutes, those few minutes covering a Kilometer, and arrived at a Dilophosaur nest. Crusher growled "he attacked this nest...him and another Raptor....the mutant....let's keep going". he started moving, and noticed the Dilo was charging at Rawhide. Crusher growled and the Dilo skidded to a hault. he revealed his head from between the trees and looked at it in the face. it opened it's frill, and Crusher roared loud enough to make it move back a few feet, just enough to knock it's aim off and send it's spit going a couple of feet above Crusher's head, and hitting a tree branch. he swung his head into it, and growled, which made it move away from him, and keep it's ground at it's nest, not daring to charge again. the group continued, more wary of what was around them from now on...

When the Dilo charged, Rawhide screeched and jumped, then tried to avoid it while Crusher took care of it. "Thank you, Crusher," he barked softly as they continued on. The scent was getting stronger, but it was still pretty far.

Crusher continued, and saw what looked like Dilo eggs, judging by the tiny dilo skulls that were next to the shells. "We're on the right track...let's keep moving". Crusher continued for a short distance, and then was confronted by a Tyrannosaur roughly Hunter's size. it seemed to be running from something, but skidded to a hault at the sight of him. it snarled "Help me...please....help!". Crusher growled "Who are you, and what are you running from?". the Rex said "My name is Fang....a Spino's chasing me...help". If it were any other creature, Crusher would've let it go, but a Spino chasing a Rex was wrong. it wasn't supposed to happen. if it wasn't for Thrasher's father killing Crusher's crippled father, it never would have. "Time to put that Spino back in it's place" snarled Crusher. soon, the roaring of the Spino neared. he growled "Stay back, guys. this won't take long". the Spino charged into the clearing, where it saw the rex it was chasing next to Crusher. it looked like it was about to have a heart attack. Crusher growled "Spinosaur! come here!". the Spino snarled and hissed in frustration. it wanted to kill that rex so that it wouldn't come back for it's meal. Crusher growled "Why do you chase a creature that hasn't harmed you, when you already have the food in the rivers?". the Spino snarled "That rex is weak, and i want some real food. he just happened to be near by". Crusher growled "i have only one thing to say to you. Leave the Rexes alone, and tell all of your kindred to do the same. if i ever see a Spinosaur chasing a Rex again, they'll regret it". the Spino snarled "Who are you to tell me what to do, you great big lazy brute?". Crusher growled "I am Crusher, the most dominant predator on the island. if you dont do as i say, i'll show you exactly how i became the most dominant". the Spino snorted, and snarled "You? the mosty dominant? please! a Spino is the most dominant predator, not a Rex!". Crusher's colours changed, and he made a territorial roar and stepped back a couple of steps, and snarled "stand still and fight me!". the Spino, still thinking highly of itself and other Spinos, stood it's ground and roared. it wasn't going to let a Rex tell it what to do, especially since it was chasing one just a few minutes earlier. it roared a battle roar, and Crusher did the same. it stood as high as possible, and swung it's claws down, aiming for Crusher's head. at the same time, Crusher lowered himself as low as possible, and put one foot underneath him, so that he'd have a strong burst of energy when he attacked. as the Spino came down, Crusher forced himself upwards, jaws wide open, and locked them on the Spino's chest. he lifted the Spino off the ground [much to the amazement of all the other predators present, including Hunter], and crushed it's ribs, which made a very painful sounding series of crunches as well as over 20 4 inch wide holes in the flesh, causing a small cascade of blood, then threw it against the ground, crushing it's sail underneath it, and leaving it in a bloody, crippled heap. Crusher snarled "Now you know why you shouldn't underestimate Rexes, and see them as lower beings than yourself. if anything, we are better. good bye, Spinosaur". he then lowered his head down and bit onto the Spino's neck, and jerked it violently, ripping the head off, and throwing it to the ground, then stomping on it. he looked at the rex which was running from it, and found it's eyes were as wide as possible for a rex. it growled "how...how...how did you...do that?". Crusher growled "Bravery, intelligence, and not over estimating myself. i am exactly what i said. Crusher. the most dominant predator on the island. i have been fighting and practicing for over 20 years". the Rex was Surprised, then thanked Crusher and left, hoping that one day, he'd be as capable in a fight as Crusher....

Crusher, Hunter, Exile, Rawhide and Blade continued....searching for more traces of Scar and the mysterious mutant raptor that was with him...
