Crusher grunted. "It was either that or let it attack one of you. im sure Steeltalon and the others wouldn't like to be in the mouth of a Carcha and have me just stand there and watch". at Darkness' comment about LargeFang, he growled "That Giga was killed because of his betrayal, which had resulted in my losing a quarter of my territory. this Carcha was an intruder who was stealing prey from my territory. that one deserved more torture than i gave it, but it died too quickly. this one deserved exactly what i did to it". he tore off a piece of the Carcha's flank, and swallowed it whole, before looking at the black Raptor again and snarling "Let the others know that this is theirs to eat, if they're hungry"...

Can do... Darkness growled, taking another bite from the corpse. He looked back at the jungle, not knowing if the others would come out or not. Darkness turned back, swallowing another strip of meat.

Sandstorm continued following the others, picking up his pace when Steeltalon sped up. It reminded him of when the pack had finally just uped and left their old territory. Except after awhile of traveling... Quicktooth was killed... He shook the memorys of the pack falling apart away from his head. He wouldn't let anything like that happen to them now.

Crusher growled "Who else besides Steeltalon was here? i remember spotting her, a few other raptors, some hatchlings and i think a Dilophosaur juvenile. i saw a Spinosaur, but apparently it jumped into the river with the Dilophosaur"...

Sandstorm, Shadow Leaf, Switchblade, the Lili...Oh, ya, they are kinda like Dilophosaurs, I guess...and Redtooth, the spinosaur... Darkness growled, still casually eating. And my hatchlings, of course... he growled, swallowing a piece of meat.

Crusher grunted "Liliensternus? hmm...they look almost the same when they're that small. Sandstorm and Shadowleaf? i thought they had gone ages ago". he lowered his head and took a bite out of the Carcha, and then heard Darkness mention HIS hatchlings. his eyes looked up from the meal and looked at Darkness, and Crusher ate what was in his mouth before growling "So you finally got yourself a mate. let me guess. Steeltalon, right?"...

Yes...And I couldn't be happier... Darkness growled, grinning. And...how did you know my mate was Steeltalon? he growled, chewing a piece of meat as he looked up at Crusher, wondering if his feelings were that obvious before...

Crusher growled "Well, she took you in even after you nearly killed eachother. and you're STILL here. add to that it was during your stay with HER that you began to call for a mate. it was fairly easy to guess that she is your mate". he tore a lump of flesh off of the Carcha, and looked back at Darkness...

Darkness's eyes narrowed, smirking at Crusher. Clever, Crusher... he growled, taking another bite from the meat. He looked around again, not knowing where everyone went, a bad feeling coming over him...

Crusher growled "I have my territory and family to attend to now, Darkness, so i'm leaving for now. It seems that little fight a few moments ago scared away the others. perhaps, if they decide to return here, i'll visit later on. if, in a month's time none of you return here, i'll take this place into my territory, to keep other predators from using it"...

Alright, Crusher...Goodbye... Darkness growled, walking off the corpse and over to where everyone disappeared. Ok, its safe to come out.... he growled, looking at the jungle. Steeltalon? Sandstorm? Shadow Leaf? Anyone?! Darkness snarled, bolting into the jungle, finding Steeltalon's scent trail. She must have have left the clearing... he snarled, looking to where the scent trail led to. Damn... Darkness snarled, bolting in the direction the scent trail pointed, the sun slowly setting as he did...

Steeltalon reached the first rest point and collapsed, panting heavily. It was a shallow cave, scooped out of the side of a tall cliff. Water tricked down the sheer rock to form a small pool near the mouth of the cave, which smelled strongly of stale blood and fear. She dropped one hatchling and nuzzled it soothingly. "This was the last place I stayed before reaching the caves," she murmured. They were a mile and a half from the clearing they had stayed in for so long. They had made good time...it was nearing sunset. "Maybe if we get moving again at noon we can cut the time it'll take a bit shorter." She glanced around and gently set the other hatchling down. Almost instantly they curled close together, siblings who had gone through this together.

Raven dropped from the trees behind Sandstorm and looked around, panting. "Is...is this it?" he gasped, trying to get his breath back. Steeltalon quickly answered, "We're spending the night here...we'll be leaving sometime after sunrise." She didn't want to stay in one place too long...she felt too exposed.

Darkness continued on, trying to follow the scent trail, becoming increasingly frustrated. Was this really needed? The clearing was fine... he snarled to himself, still racing along the trail. Darkness stopped, looking around. He had no idea where he was, shaking his head in frustration. Darkness continued on, the sun slowly setting, meaning he would have to find shelter soon...

Steeltalon nudged the hatchlings into the shallow cave, along with Sandstorm and Shadowleaf. Raven scrambled up a series of jagged ledges to keep watch from a large, thick spike of rock just above the cave's entrance. His leaf-green gaze raked the surrounding foliage, seeming to stare through any enemies that might be watching. Steeltalon's own scarlet eyes were blazing with intensity as she scanned for hostile actions.

Blade stumbled through the trees, trying to catch a wounded compy. just as he was about to kill it, something rammed into him. he tumbled over, the Compy dead at his snout. he looked at what had rammed him, and saw a black Raptor, taller than him but not quite as long. he stared at it fearfully. he wasn't strong enough to take on a Raptor this size...

Sandstorm and Shadow leaf set down the hatchlings with the others and collapsed on the ground, tired. Shadow leaf was alot more tired than him, having been running her fastest so she just laid her head down and didnt move. Sandstorm glanced around, trying to remember back to when he first arrived at Steeltalons cave in the middle of the night. It had been a four day walk from the rock formation, but what direction? He thought back to the angle he had entered the clearing from and then at the angle he had left from. Trying to remember where he had taken shelter on the way there. After awhile of thought, he was releived to come to the conculsion that they weren't going anywhere near where he came from. He would be able to find his way back to the rock formation, but he doubted that he would find the lake where Quick tooth died at. Which was a good thing, he never wanted to return there.

Darkness stumbled back, seeing a small Allosaur infront of him. He smirked, thinking it as an easy meal. Darkness got into an aggressive stance, but, upon seeing the fearfull look in the Allosaur's eyes, he quickly returned to normal, sighing heavily. Your lucky, Allosaur.... Darkness snarled, disgusted with himself. He shook his head again, pushing past the Allosaur, walking along the scent trail.

Steeltalon was finally forced to give up watching for danger. The pain of her injuries, plus exhaustion from the long run, was starting to take its toll. She barely managed to lap a few mouthfuls of water from the small pool before she laid down on her side, watching the sunset. As soon as night fell, Steeltalon had fallen asleep, her mind full of horrific memories. Memories of running from the place she was now leading others to.

Raven watched Steeltalon succumb to her exhaustion and fought off his own tiredness. He was determined to stay awake, to protect the hatchlings and Steeltalon's friends.

Sandstorm wasnt as tired as the others, he had conserved his energey throughout the run. He got up lazily and walked out growling "Raven, you can go get some sleep.... I will watch.." He yawned and laid down in the grass out side the entrance. watching the trees for any signs of movement, but re-lying more on his hearing and sense of smell. Shadow leaf had already fallen asleep behind him...

Blade looked at the Raptor. why didn't it kill me? maybe it would've freed me from the pain i was suffering thought Blade as he got up. he picked up the Compy and ate it whole, then started to follow the Raptor. it was more skilled than himself, so, at the very least, it would catch something that would have left-overs for him to eat...
