Lightfrost padded back into the den and curled up beside Icestorm, glad to finally be able to get some rest.

The next day, Spottednose's eyes blinked open. He stood up and stretched, glad to finally get some good rest and heal his wounds.

Streamflower was woken by mewling close to her ear. Sparrowkit was kicking his paws in the air, obviously dreaming. Snowkit, Smokekit and Frostkit were curled close together, their pelts mingling as they purred in their sleep. Streamflower lifted her head, yawned, and mewed, "Good morning, Spottednose."

Streamflower laughed quietly. Stormtail came into the nursery, some borage leaves in his jaws. He set down the herbs and meowed, "I hope I'm not interrupting."

"They're to help Streamflower's milk supply stay constant," Stormtail mewed, pushing the herbs towards Streamflower with one paw. Streamflower nodded and obediantly started chewing the leaves, swallowing and rolling her eyes. "Tastes worse than mouse bile," she mewed. Stormtail shrugged. "Nothing I can do about that," he meowed, turning to go.

Streamflower gently nudged the kits closer to her belly and watched Spottednose go, love in her eyes.
Violet hissed as she slipped on a patch of ice, hitting her chin hard on the frozen ground. Scrambling back onto her paws, she rubbed her aching jaw with the back of one paw and muttered, "Ow..." She shook her head irritably and continued padding towards an abandoned Twoleg nest, hoping it would be warmer inside. Perhaps it would offer shelter, without the threat of Twolegs. But a low rumble made her stop dead and look in the direction of the lake. Huge monsters! They were heading towards the Clan's home...Violet was a rogue, she couldn't hope they would listen to her. Still...they deserved a warning. Violet spun around and ran back the way she'd come, following her own rapidly fading scent trail. I have to warn them! she thought desperately. The Clans HAVE to survive!

Spottednose found a single remaining fox cub in the fresh-kill pile. He grabbed it and brought it back to the nursery.

Snowclaw stretched. He was fully rested and needed to burn some energy. He ran out yo the middle of the camp and ran in circles before rolling over. He shook the snow that was in fur out and swiped at the air playfully.

Violet reached the mountains and sped along icy pathways, nearly falling to her death more than once. Behind her, she could hear the rumbling of the monsters as they went around the mountains. I have to hurry! Violet pushed herself to the brink, going as fast as she possibly could to try and get to the forest before the monsters did.
