By now, Streamflower was exhausted and the sun was starting to go down. Violet had upped the pace, meaning no one had gotten any rest since Shadowstar had fallen from Highstones. The white she-cat was dragging her paws as though they were made of lead, and her head and tail were drooping, her nose nearly touching the ice-encrusted rock beneath her feet.

Violet coughed. "We have to get there before...nightfall...otherwise we'll be vulnerable...almost there." She coughed again, collapsing into the snow. "Maybe we should rest," she mumbled, not moving from where she lay.

Violet blinked, surprised, but she didn't protest. She closed her dark amber eyes and let out a long sigh.
Streamflower purred softly, nuzzling Spottednose gratefully.
Shadowstar reached the mountains, placing one paw on the rough rock and snarling in frustration. How far could the Clans have gone? With an aggrivated sigh, Shadowstar began the trek to rejoin her Clan.

A memory appeared in Snowclaw's mind.
"Loneclaw....where are we?" Snowclaw asked, looking up at the tree tops. "Uh....hmmm....Loneclaw think we'er by a thunderpath" Loneclaw replied, also looking up. "......So you don't know where we are?" Loneclaw lowered his head and looked at Snowclaw. "That would be correct." Snowclaw looked at Loneclaw, worry in his eyes. "LONECLAW! IF WE DONT GET BACK, FATHER AND MOTHER WOULD KILL US!!!" Loneclaw's eyes widened. He ran up a tree, swiping repeatedly. "TELL US HOW TO GO HOME OR SUFFER THE WRATH OF LONECLAW!!!" "Stop it Loneclaw." Snowclaw said. "NEVER !" He replied. "STOP!" Snowclaw commanded. "OK" Loneclaw said, jumping back to the snow covered ground. "WHAT DO WE DO NOW!? WE FREEZE BEFORE DAY LIGHT!" Loneclaw asked. "Blacktail said that if we lay by each other, we can share warmth and will be able survive." Snowclaw said. Loneclaw walked over and laid down B=by his brother. It wasn't long until they fell asleep.

When Violet knew everyone was rested enough, she stood, flicked Snowclaw's ear lightly with her tail in a gesture of thanks, and started to help the weaker cats to their feet.
