Silverfang made a chuckle. He barked, "Do you honestly think we'd just leave? After following you over the Highstones, and waiting in the snow for several days for you to show up? I don't think so!"

[Hopeflower]

Shadowstar let out a deafening battle yowl and leapt onto Silverfang's sface, clawing and biting until she reached the back of his neck and plunged her fangs in. The warriors fell onto the other wolves with yowls and screeches of defiance.

Silverfang yowled in fury and shook like a dog (:P), flinging his adversary away. He barked loudly, "Kill them all!" The other wolves attacked thecats, barking and growling angrily.

Spottednose and Coarsefur, the wolf who had attacked him before circled each other, waiting for an opening...

The cats had the wolves outnumbered, and were slowly gaining the upper hand. Shadowstar leapt back onto Silverfang's back, digging all of her claws in and refusing to let go, yowling defiance.

Violet was duking it out with a dark brown wolf, yowling insults with every blow she landed.

Loneclaw jumped onto the wolf circleing Spottednose. He dug his claws in the wolf hind, biting to maximise pain. He continued scrathing, foring the claws deeper each swipe.

Coarsefur swiped at Loneclaw, cutting a deep gash in his shoulder and causing him to fall off. Spottednose used the distraction to leap at his enemy's throat, clawing at it viciously.

Brindlehide was battling Violet, swatting at her with his claws whenever she got to close, ignoring the insults.

Silverfang slammed into a tree, pinning Shadowstar and making her slip off of him. He put a paw on her throat, pinning her, and howled defiantly, "This is our territory now!"

Shadowstar snarled and raked Silverfang's soft underbelly with her thorn-sharp hindclaws. The grip on her relaxed and she lunged upward as the ThunderClan warriors surged forward, forcing the wolves back. Shadowstar yowled triumphantly. "ThunderClan will not be defeated by you flea-bitten wolves!" She gave Silverfang a fierce bite to the shoulder and lept of with another thunderous caterwaul.

Silverfang jumped back, growling, "I beg to differ." He leaped forward and grabbed Shadowstar in his jaws, throwing her away and into another cat.

Spottednose and Coarsefur were rolling around in the dust, kicking, biting, and scratching.

Slowly, ThunderClan was driving the wolves out. only Spottednose and Shadowstar remained locked in combat. The ThunderClan leader got up and leapt, ears flattened and her jaws split wide in a wordless yowl of fury, plunging her teeth deep into Silverfang's throat. Warm blood filled her mouth as her sharp fangs pierced a major vein.

Silverfang yowled in pain and fury. Falling to the ground as the rest of the wolves retreated.

Spottednose spat at Coarsefur, who limped away, unlikely to survive the beating he had been giving. Spottednose panted heavily, limping away toward the den to see Streamflower, unable to fight any longer.

Shadowstar released the wolf and bounded away, yowling ThunderClan's triumph to StarClan. Streamflower looked up when Spottednose entered and purred joyously, glad he was still alive.

Silverfang, to everyone's surprise, began laughing. He growled hoarsely, "It isn't over yet, cat. You haven't seen the last of my pack..." He let out a whine, before his head fell, dead.

Spottednose smirked at Streamflower and mewed quietly, "Taught them a lesson or two..." He then collapsed, unconcsious yet again.

Streamflower mewed worriedly and Stormtail appeared. The medicine cat patched Spottednose's wounds up and Streamflower purred gratefully. Stormtail nodded, backing away respectfully as Streamflower rested her head beside her mate's.

The wolves had retreated, aving lost Spottedtongue and their leader Silverfang, to the cats. Coarsefur, who was the new leader, growled, "Well, I know we're not going back there until we heal up." Brindlehide, who was busy licking his torn-up flank, stopped long enough to bark mockingly, "No, you think?!"

Spottednose groaned, but still knocked out.

[Hopeflower]

Shadowstar glared at the fallen wolves, and turned a sad gaze to the warriors of ThunderClan who had joined StarClan. One of them was Lightfrost. "No!" Shadowstar yowled. "Those wolves will pay for this!"

Spottednose groaned, and his eyes blinked open. he mewed groggily, "How many times am I going to get knocked out by wolves?"

[Hopeflower]

Streamflower lifted her head and purred. "I'm glad you're alive," she mewed. "Come on; let's get these little troublemakers back to the nursery." She picked up Snowkit and Smokekit, getting to her feet and bounding out of the den with the apprentices, elders and other queens following her. She reached the nursery and turned to look at the battlefield. Two dead wolves. Three dead cats. Lightfrost, Clovertail and Grayback were lost to StarClan forever.

Spottednose nodded andstaggered to his feet. He leaned dwn, Sparrowkit jumping on his head, mewling excitedly. He picked up Frostkit and carried the two its back to the nursery. He looked at the dead cats and sighed inwardly. At least they'll be with StarClan now...

[Hopeflower]

Shadowstar let out a yowl to summon her Clan, who gathered instictively around their leader. "Lightfrost has been killed in the battle. As leader of ThunderClan, it is now my duty to appoint a new deputy," Shadowstar meowed. She took a deep breath and went on, "I say these words before the body of Lightfrost, so that his spirit may hear and approve my choice." Her gaze switched to Spottednose as she meowed, "Spottednose will be the new deputy of ThunderClan."

Spottednose nearly fell over after walking after the nursery and hearing Shadowstar. He looked up at Shadowstar and tehn bowed his head respectfully. He mewed, "I will serve you well, Shadowstar."
