Hawksight nodded. "Thank StarClan," she meowed. "Wouldn't have been too much fun to be squished flatter than a leaf."

Hawksight misjudged the distance of one leap and caught a ledge above her with her forepaws. "Fox dung," she growled, attempting to haul herself up.

Snowclaw jumped over to the ledge where Hawksight was. He turned around and gently bit her scruff. He pullled her up and mewed " This is getting to thelevel of danger where ypu have to plan every move to the fullest extent."

Hawksight bounded to the top of the rise and looked down. "Awesome!" she breathed. The ground was a good thirty feet below them, the grass glittering with dew.

Snowclaw jumped into a near by tree. The branches were skinny but seemed to support his weight. He twitched his ears at Hawksight to tell her it was safe. He ran down the branch and down the trunk.

Hawksight's whiskers twitched uncertainly, but the jumped nonetheless. One branch nearly snapped as she landed on it, but she kept heading down until she leapt safely to the warming earth.

Hawksight opened her jaws to reply, and a rank stench hit the roof of her mouth. She curled her lip to drive the scent from her nostrils, mewing, "The ThunderClan camp...or where it used to be."

After a bit of searching, Hawksight found the ravine that used to be the entrance to ThunderClan's camp. She retched at the stench of monsters around the clearing, and winced when she saw the gorse and ferns had been torn away. "Snowclaw," she called. "Over here."

Snowcla padded over to where Hawksight was. He mewd "What happended here? He knew what happened, he was familiar with the smell because he used to live by a thunderpath. He looked at the demolished area and jumped down the ravine and into the camp.

Hawksight followed Snowclaw and looked around. The Highrock had been torn out of the ground and reduced to pebbles smaller than a cat's paw. The brambles protecting the nursery had been torn out of the ground; bits of roots stuck out of the earth like broken ribs. Dirt had been flung everywhere as the plants had been pulled up. The warrior's den was now a pile of destroyed brambles and ferns. The fern tunnel that used to lead to the medicine cat's clearing was gone; the sharp scent of crushed plants reached Hawksight's nose. The split rock that Stormtail had once used as a den now laid in pieces similar to the Highrock's remains. The burned-out tree that the elders had lived in had been cut down and carried away by the Twolegs, and the apprentice's den was completely destroyed. Everywhere the scent of death and decay hung around, almost masked by the reek of Twolegs and monsters. Hawksight was rigid with disbelief. "I knew it would be bad...but never expected this," she whispered, dark amber eyes clouding over with sadness. Her fur was tugged by a gentle breeze that carried the scent of what the Twolegs had done. far away, she could hear the destructive beings yowling to each other. A couple of Twoleg kits were playing in a stream, close to the camp. Hawksight's mind was in chaos. Had the Twolegs known the cats were there? Probably not. Hawksight closed her eyes, not wanting to look at the destroyed camp any longer. The trees had all been cut down, letting the sun glare down at the two cats in what used to be ThunderClan's camp. The dark brown tabby she-cat sighed, her sleek pelt gleaming in the sunlight. No sooner had she closed her eyes than she felt herself being lifted off the ground. Her amber orbs snapped open and she began struggling against the Twoleg that had picked her up. The Twoleg made a soft cooing noise and gently stroked Hawksight. The she-cat froze, eyes wide. This Twoleg wasn't hurting her. It wasn't trying to kick Snowclaw either. But the question was why? Why wasn't the Twoleg attempting to kill the two cats? Hawksight sighed and stopped struggling, earning a soft noise from the Twoleg. She felt herself being carried away, not being able to fight back. She was placed in a small den made of some sort of webbing, and the den was placed inside of a monster. before the openings in the sides of the monster closed, Hawksight caught one last glimpse of Snowclaw. "Run," she mewed.

Snowclaw ran after the monster and screeched "Not without you!" He pounced on the twoleg and yowled "You killed my clan! I KILL YOU!" He slashed at the twoleg but was picked up by another larger one. He shook and struggled. He tried biting but he was put in the back of the monster. Snowclaw reared up but then he was grabbed and forced into a container like Hawksight. The twolegs opened the doors and put Snowclaw beside Hawksight.

Hawksight didn't know how long she was asleep for. When she woke up, she was trapped in a small space and something was rubbing against her neck uncomfortably. The strange webbing was gone, but the dark tabby she-cat didn't know where she was. tall things around her were a blinding white, and the ground was soft and cream-colored. Her paws made no sound as she padded around, looking for a way out of here. Something was over on one side of the space, the same color as the strange earth. When Hawksight pressed one forepaw to it, she found it was very soft. She leapt up onto the thing and looked around, sitting down. "It's not so bad here," she mewed out loud to herself. "But it sure isn't the forest. I've got to get back there..." She stood and leapt from the thing to the ground, noticing that her paws made a dull thud as she landed. "Snowclaw?" she meowed, though she was sure he couldn't hear her. She was alone in this small space, unsure of where she was or what to do. How do I get out of here? she wondered, padding around the enclosed area. She pressed against the white objects with her paws, and was surprised when one area swung in the direction she was pushing. What is THAT? she thought, squeezing through and finsing herself in another enclosed space. This time the things enclosing her were sky-colored, the weird grass underpaw white and fluffy like clouds. She could see another cat, and she meowed, "Hello?" The cat turned, startled. "How did you get in here?" it meowed. "My housefolk won't like seeing a strange cat in the house." What's a house? Hawksight thought, utterly confused. "How do I get outside?" she asked the strange cat. It shrugged. "You don't, unless the housefolk let you out," it mewed. "My name's Skye, by the way," the cat went on. "Hawksight," Hawksight mewed, introducing herself. Skye's whiskers twitched. "Your collar says you're Rayne," she meowed. Collar? Hawksight thought, rubbing her neck with a paw. Is that what this is? Skye meowed, "My housefolk brought you and another cat in. Dunno where he is though. Probably in another room." Hawksight sighed irritably. "Listen," she mewed, "I'm a Clan cat. I don't belong in a Twoleg nest!" Skye looked bewildered. "What's a Twoleg?" she meowed. "Er...housefolk," Hawksight mewed, correcting herself for the kittypet. This is going to be a long day, she thought, sighing once more.

Snowclaw batted a strnage object around. It looked like a mouse but it was stetchy and didn't have fur. It didn't squeak. Snowclaw snarled and pounced againon the annoying figure. "You don't want to talk vermin?! WHAT IS ON MY NECK!" He yowled, scratching the object only to have it bounce away. He walked over to a bowl with water in it. Snowclaw mewed "Strange puddle" He took a lap of water and gagged. "WHAT IS THAT!" He looked at the water that tasted different than the forest puddles he loved so much. He saw another bowl filled with strange yet appatizing substances. He took a bite and gagged again. "It tastes like fish, but it isn't, its wet coarse, and dead. It doesn't have the fresness..its..empty..." He made a soft growl and laid down.

A young tom laughed and padded over to the white tom. "Easy, stranger," he mewed. "Being a house cat isn't so bad. My name's Tyrant." He pushed another bowl towards the new cat. "Here, try this. Dry food." The black collar around his neck gleamed in the dim light, bearing the name 'Tyrant' on it.

Hawksight, or Rayne, sat opposite Skye. She was prodding some wet substance that smelled like fish. "What is this?" Hawksight mewed. Skye gave an amused mrrow. "It's food, Rayne," she meowed. "Try it." Hawksight leaned forward uneasily and licked the strange substance. She nearly gagged. "Great StarClan!" she meowed, washing her paws to get the taste out of her mouth. "That's more disgusting than mouse bile." Skye looked hurt. "If you didn't want it you just had to say so," she mewed, bending down and devouring the kittypet food in a few ravenous mouthfuls. She stood upright again, swiping her tongue around her muzzle. Her collar was blue and had strange markings on it. Hawksight assumed it said 'Skye'. The dark tabby looked up and saw something made out of ice. Oddly, it wasn't melting. And if that wasn't weird enough, the water tasted bitter and the food wasn't much better. How could kittypets live this kind of life? Hawksight sighed. "How can you live here?" she asked Skye. The kittypet laughed, as though her new friend had asked a mouse-brained question. "I was born here," she mewed. Her sky-blue eyes gleamed, the same color as the things surrounding them. "We're in a room, and those sky-blue things are walls." Walls? Hawksight thought. How can any cat live trapped like this?
