"Talking about me?" a cold voice meowed. Tyrant cringed and turned to see Bloodspill, her head held high. "How long have you been standing there?" he dared to ask. Bloodspill's whisker's twitched in slight irritation. "Long enough," she meowed. Something flickered in her blood red eyes. Tyrant blinked. Was that...sorrow in the black she-cat's gaze. "After my son died," Bloodspill went on, her voice choked as though every word stuck thorn-sharp in her throat, "I decided I couldn't trust anyone. Friends...family...they only brought suffering to me." Tyrant's mouth fell open. "Y-you were a mother?" he mewed, his voice shrill with disbelief. "Don't believe me, huh?" Bloodspill mewed. She put one paw forward, revealing many scars on her leg. One in particular went from her shoulder to the base of her paw, where it went on to score the soft pad underneath. "Many seasons...many reminders. A cut for every friend or family member I lost."
