Firestreak padded over to the group of cats, slightly confused as to why Spottedstar had called him over. Yes? he mewed, sitting down, watching the group calmly.

I'll gladly help. Firestreak meowed, his tail swaying behind him. He was willing to help the clan in any way, if helping the kits learn their basic skills was what they wanted him to do, he would do it without question.

Spottedstar nodded, and turned toward the den. He mewed, "I'll be right back," and padded in. He sat down next to Claw and meowed, "Claw, I have something that might keep you busy." Claw's ears pricked. "Yes?" Spottedstar replied, "Mentor one of my kits. I need any mentors I can get." Claw meowed, "Sure, Spottedstar." Spottedstar smiled and and walked back outside.

Streamflower arched an eyebrow at Spottedstar's actions, but didn't question him. "Go on," she murmured, nudging his shoulder with her nose.

Spottedstar nodded and jumped onto the Highrock. He meowed, "All cats old enough to catch their own food, meet at the Highrock for a Clan meeting." He mewed to Streamflower, "See, I know some of the stuff!"

Streamflower laughed quietly as she went into the nursery and called the kits with a soft mew. She started grooming them until their pelts shone, ignoring their mewls of protest.

Bloodspill, Skye and Tyrant kept to the outside of the throng of cats, deciding it was for the best.

Spottedstar waited for the cats to gather and meowed, "Today, I will name four apprentices. Streamflower is bringing them as I speak."

As Spottedstar spoke, Streamflower emerged from the nursery with the four kits in toe. Snowkit and Sparrowkit padded side by side, looking like the moon and its shadow. Frostkit's brown paws seemed to blend into the earth as she padded forward, and Smokekit's gray pelt shone in the sunlight. Streamflower herself had groomed her white fur, so it was sleek as ever. She walked forward proudly, leading the kits to the base of the Highledge.

Spottedstar mewed,"These kits have reached their sixth moon. It is time for them to become apprentices. From this day on, until they have earned their warrior names, these kist will be known as Sparrowpaw, Smokepaw, Snowpaw, and Frostpaw. I will be Sparrowpaw's mentor, Streamflower shall be Snowpaw's, Bloodspill will be Smokepaw's, and Claw will be Frostpaw's. I trust you will pass on all you have learned to these apprentices."

Streamflower stepped forward and touched noses with Snowpaw. Following her example, Bloodspill stretched forward to touch her nose to Smokepaw's. The gray apprentice seemed to shrink away from her red gaze, but reached up and touched his nose to the black she-cat's.

Spottedstar leaned down to touch Sparrowpaw's nose and Claw did the same with Frostpaw.

"Streampaw!" one cat called. "Hey, Smokepaw!" More voices joined the first, calling the apprentices by their new names.

"You're gonna love being an apprentice, Frostpaw!

"Sparrowpaw, welcome to the apprentices!"

Streamflower grinned at her kits and meowed, "Enjoy it, you four."

Spottedstar had a glimmer of a smirk on his face when he mewed, "Bloodspill, Claw? Why don't you two take out your apprentices for training together? Streamflower and I can go together as well."

Bloodspill narrowed her eyes, but she didn't voice her thoughts. Instead she twitched her whiskers for Smokepaw to follow her and started padding out of camp.

Streamflower arched an eyebrow at Spottedstar and meowed, "Why are you putting them together? They'll probably rip each other apart." There was amusement in her eyes and in her voice.

Spottedstar mewed, "They'll learn to be friends, whether they want to or not. Now come on, let's get to teaching." Sparrowpaw and Snowpaw cheered.

Claw sighed, but reluctantly followed Bloodspill. He mewed, "So... Smokepaw, what do you want to learn about?"

Smokepaw glanced at his paws, embarrassed. "Everything," he mewed. "Hunting and fighting and patrolling..." Bloodspill ignored Claw, choosing instead to gaze at a bright-winged butterfly.

Firestreak padded back to his usual spot after the meeting was over, glancing around the camp as he arrived. He continued to watch the other clan cats for a few moments before laying down, thinking of what needed to be done. Firestreak sighed, bored, staring forward blankly, still in thought about what he needed to do...
